17041  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: May 02, 2015, 01:30:39 PM

those are the old generations, new generation are aware on how to use computer and hi-tech devices

bitcoin isn't born to meet old people, some of them are not even willing to learn, we can't do nothing to this

Are you sure? Like am not that old but I know a lot of younger people quite proficient in computers and networking and they don't give a shit about btc, some of them heard some anecdotal stories, but it's like nobody gives a shit about it still, maybe one in 500 hundreds or more, I don't know, maybe even less, unless they have nothing to do and somehow gets involved a bit accidentally like me.  Do you imagine if those cool computer kids would give a damn about btc by default? It would be a revolution tomorrow! Wink

those must be teenagers or very rich people, and it's obvious that they are not interested in bitcoin, the first because they care only about "pussy drug and rock&roll" you know... the latter because well they have already everything

exception are everywhere, but usually old people(above 50 i would say) are too exhausted to start learning new stuff, bitcoin isnt really for them
17042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LITECOIN and DASH on: May 02, 2015, 01:24:47 PM
Hi. It is true that litecoin and dash are more valueable than satoshis? If it's true how much do they worth and where to get them? What wallet to use?

it maybe becuase of faster bitcoin confirmations, but it isn't a big deal, you can buy those in any crypto exchange, i suggest poloniex and bittrex as two major

use the official wallet(local wallet), if you trade a lot you could leave them in those exchange
17043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Satanic Temple of Detroit now accepts BTC Donations on: May 02, 2015, 01:20:11 PM
as long as it help bitcoin to spread faster, this is welcome, anything is welcome actually

i think they are accepting bitcoin, because they feel more anonymous doing so

now a thing about this has come into my mind...are religions around the world accepting donations in bitcoin too?
17044  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: JUST HAD 0.92329 BTC STOLEN - HOW??? on: May 02, 2015, 12:32:53 PM
No I don't download anything suspicious. The last thing I downloaded was a new driver for my soundcard - from the official website

you are the only one who can access to your machine? sometimes i feel all those stolen money from local wallet, are because of bad friends or parent

otherwise there must be something wrong with electrum, a bug probably
17045  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex phishing warning on: May 02, 2015, 12:02:56 PM
This is why I keep saying we need some form of crypto legislation to ensure consumer protection in the crypto world.

this has nothing to do with crypto, if instead of bittrex there was the name of your fiat bank account, it would be the same, people need to be more alert and aware of the dangers of the network

you are the best security you 'll ever have
17046  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: antminer s3 variability frecuensy on: May 02, 2015, 11:59:43 AM

so you think this 0.0039 btc is good earning in 24H ?

0.039 instead of 0.040 is only 2.5% in loss, which should reflect your reject rate, checks it in cgminer, is labeled as a "R"
17047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman & Investors put $50 Million in Bitcoin Industry on: May 02, 2015, 11:54:54 AM
let's hope this isn't another useless news, where the price rise a little at first and then again it occurs another dump

anyway i would not use the word mainstream yet, we are far away from that...

I don't think that the bitcoin price is affected by "Good" news anymore, it's more about demand  and demand rises with news but this doesn't apply to bitcoin since the bad news were more powerful than good new like these

Any news is good news because it attracts a number of audiences; it increases awareness of the general public that will help them decide whether they will follow in using it or not. Also, seeing that money is being poured towards some bitcoin projects, the public would also do the same thinking that they're not alone in investing in it.
With that logic bitcoin price would have skyrocketed with all the recent good news these past week. But it did not affect it the price yet, mainstream people still think that bitcoin got "hacked" after the Mt.Gox thing.

Well people wouldn't jump on-board with such news, but it increases their awareness about bitcoin, which I think is good. It sets up their mind and see their options before diving in it. I personally won't touch anything introduced in the news but I would do a research before I dive deeper.

awareness is good and all, as long as those news do not paint a bad picture of bitcoin, which was the case with some of them, and the for the rest , the good news... sometimes they appear as a lie or only a way to increase services revenue/or boosting their imagines, like the one about circle

17048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling your bitcoins together with the wallet.dat and privkeys. on: May 02, 2015, 11:48:30 AM
i don't see any problem in selling the entire wallet(just destroy all the backup of it, and possible private key of that wallet), you will then make another fresh one, see it as "one private key"
17049  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: JUST HAD 0.92329 BTC STOLEN - HOW??? on: May 02, 2015, 11:48:08 AM
I've had much more btc in that wallet in the past. And I only fire up my VM to check my electrum which isn't that often. WHY ME AND why now. This is bullshit!

have you downloaded something suspicious yesterday or some time ago?, what is the last thing you downloaded?
17050  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Mark Karpeles were running the top exchange, we would've had another rally. on: May 02, 2015, 10:48:14 AM
i would expect a less higher ath price if there was another big pump like the one from 2013, just to hides his moves maybe
17051  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I can earn from the Signature campaign? on: May 02, 2015, 10:46:58 AM
Sound like signature campaign has gotten more strict.

it's because of the recent spam, and also i believe they are allowing too many members, to be honest i can't see how they are making profit out of it
17052  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: JUST HAD 0.92329 BTC STOLEN - HOW??? on: May 02, 2015, 10:43:19 AM
you pc/vm is infected, propably is controlled too(both are controlled i would say)

some rootkit can be obscured to any antivirus
17053  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any hosting site which accepts BTC as payment on: May 02, 2015, 08:25:17 AM
i know about cinfu, which i used and it's a great service, they have a thread here, perhaps the only downside is their price
17054  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin at or below spot on: May 02, 2015, 07:23:12 AM
sometimes there are good trusted guy that sell below market price on the market section(because they need fast liquidity and the only way is to sell their btc fast enough, by devaluing them) , you may take a look there
17055  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help please on: May 02, 2015, 07:06:50 AM
your miner is working? the password is correct? do you see always offline or sometimes it go online?
17056  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stay away from bitcoin ! on: May 02, 2015, 07:03:44 AM
I just paid my recent tmobile bill by exchanging to fiat.

stay away? then how would I pay extra bills laying around, the normal person including myself struggles so it should be more of how can I get more that coin instead while it still has value.

you could have tried those service https://www.cashila.com/ or https://www.bitbill.eu/, don't know how much they are regulated, but they work

at least you don't need to dump bitcoin...
17057  Economy / Speculation / Re: How SOON will the BTC rally begin? on: May 02, 2015, 07:00:44 AM
I don't think the price  will rally in the near future, even after the halving in 2016, it is no matter of the supply, it is the matter of demand. The users base needs to increase (adoption rate) , the price will increase at the same time! It cannot rally dramatically overnight!

you need both to be honest, otherwise inflation would be a good option, and we know it isn't, limited supply will surely help, but the demand it may look more needed here

but while the first is coming for sure, the second is uncertain, this is way we needs to rely on the block halving and hoping for the best
17058  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price continue downtrend, New Low in Q2 2015 on: May 02, 2015, 06:57:05 AM
to me it look like "bitcoin price continue the stabletrend", looks at the last part of your chart, since jan 2015, no big swings there, pretty calm

bitcoin is in a limbo right now, ready for someone to take it off
17059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: The End of Money As We Know It - Full documentary Trailer on: May 02, 2015, 06:52:47 AM
this is bitcoin in a nutshell or half of it for now, waiting for the full release as well
17060  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be less than 100$ by the end of the year on: May 02, 2015, 06:24:03 AM
You're smoking heavy doobies if you think it's going below $100 now.

he said by the end of the year, which isn't "now", there is chances(while they are slim, they are there) that it may fall to 100 or lower, it could also be for just 1 day only, but the posssibility is concrete

but a permanent decline to 100 is out of question
