17121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin take over, and Fiat will be gone? on: July 24, 2017, 05:36:46 PM
It's really to early to say for sure. Yes, it's very possible, but bitcoin CAN fail in the future (I hope not). And who knows? Maybe an altcoin instead will reach mass adoption. One things for sure though, it won't be soon, probably not in our lifetime; and I hope I'm wrong.
17122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea Officially Legalizes Bitcoin, Huge Market For Traders on: July 24, 2017, 08:00:51 AM
Another good news for bitcoin. I've heard in other forums that Koreans take a good percentage of userbase in various forums. Not sure how much effect would this have on the prices though, as I think some Koreans were already into bitcoin trading even before the legalisation.
17123  Other / Meta / Re: This site take 2.3$ from me ? on: July 24, 2017, 05:30:53 AM
OK but why bitcoins talk ask me to send 2$ and not refund it ??

Why would they ask for $2 and then refund it? Lol

They required payment because probably some other users registered to bitcointalk using the same IP that you're in. The payment is just to prevent the spamming of account registrations.
OK i have no problem but why bitcointalk keep this amount of money
if this money to check must refund it yes ??

No. Theres no point for them to ask for bitcoins and then refund it afterwards. Like the others said, this is to prevent registration spam due to multiple account registrations from the IP address your VPN is using.
17124  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: July 24, 2017, 03:55:30 AM
Hi, I was wondering if I should quit my job and focus more on bitcoins? Because I think it might get me even richer without a job?  Grin

Ask yourself first. How would bitcoin make you richer without a job? Do you have millions and millions of dollars to invest that you can live off the profits from your investments? or are you just gonna join those shitty investment/doubler scams?
17125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking back at really old transactions at today's value? on: July 24, 2017, 02:56:50 AM

Any good stories you guys have?  My friend got 500 BTC as a wedding present when they were $1 each. It came with a card that said "This is either going to be worth a ton of money one day, or I'm the dumbest person ever".

He must be so rich now. (unless he sold for lower)

I myself don't look back at old transactions. I've spent a good chunk of bitcoin when it was at the 600-700 dollar range and calculating it to the current price makes me sick. LOL
17126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the future of bitcoin will look like on: July 23, 2017, 04:06:50 PM
Bitcoin 2025-2030 public malls in arcade games you earn BTC while playing.

You earn BTC while playing arcade games? How will the mall/arcade center make a profit though if they pay the players Bitcoins, instead of the other way around like it should be on most businesses?
17127  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best client for importing private key? on: July 23, 2017, 12:44:49 PM
I have a private key L5izUhxgJ8Msw2vcf5GEH6f5hVsTHnagR7WmRbiveY3pn93JH5DD for address 1aBvPZyr6Q1aEFETk9GhNVtrsHzTEahi3

What client should I use to import this private key?

Yo edit your post and remove your private key

Depends what device you are using. On android, I prefer the Copay app. On windows, the Electrum app. On iOS, the Breadwallet app.

Just test some wallets out. And just use what you're comfortable with.
17128  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex, not accepting bitcoins... on: July 23, 2017, 12:06:39 PM
They are protecting their users coins in case the chain splits to prevent malicious transactions.

Shortly after the split, it should be clear what chain will lead and things should return to normal soon.
By me they took it too serious. Users can't handle their funds for 10 days? Or more?
They should be able to, after they click big button for example with "I UNDERSTAND RISKS INVOLVED".

You may be right. But they did this to simply make their jobs easier. Imagine all the possible complaints Bittrex users can make. I only wished they made an announcement maybe 2 days before they disabled deposits and withdrawals.

You can still trade btc for altcoins tho.
17129  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next week, is that the last chance? on: July 23, 2017, 06:46:55 AM
Not sure about this. People were expecting a crash too this weekend, hoping that it will be like last weekend. But it didn't crash. I honestly don't see why it would crash next weekend, but let's see. I'm also hoping. Didn't buy enough lastweek.
17130  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you agree in death penalty? on: July 23, 2017, 06:01:01 AM
At first I didn't agree with having death penalty. But when you watch the news and see all those fucked up things people do without remorse, most likely you would want them dead too, especially if you're connected to the victims. The only problem is false accusations. Lets say they hang a killer because of manslaughter and after a week later they realized that he wasn't the real killer, well shit. You cant bring the life of that man back. as opposed to just jailing them.
17131  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cryptocurrency to feed the poor? on: July 22, 2017, 04:26:39 PM
I want this to happen. But to be honest, it's very unlikely. People are only going to pay in some crypto if only they get something in return. People don't invest in ICOs only because they support the new technology, they also do it because they get something in return that can be potentially higher in value compared to what they invested. Your idea is not impossible, but I think it's pretty hard to plan and create.
17132  Other / Off-topic / Re: What wallets do you use? on: July 22, 2017, 04:05:45 PM
xapo wallet and zebapy, unocoin wallets i used mostly, but zebpay suits for me,i feel safe and fast transactions. it shows alerts of bitcoin prices also.

Do you store all your bitcoins on Xapo and Zebpay? Just to let you know, I'm not sure if Zebpay is good, but storing bitcoins on wallets whereas you don't have access to your private keys is a very bad idea. Store the larger amounts of your bitcoins on a hardware wallet like Trezor and Ledger Nano S. Or atleast use wallets whereas you have access to your private keys, like Electrum and Mycelium. Look em up. Better safe than sorry.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2040221.0;topicseen

So does that mean that there 100% will be a hard fork of Bitcoin ?  Huh

Yep. I think so, if they don't change their minds. But I don't think there's something you should be worried about honestly. Segwit is locked in. The price of bitcoin wouldn't crash most probably. And if it would, it would be a very small dip I'm pretty sure.
17134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storj partners with FileZilla on: July 22, 2017, 03:07:03 PM
Is this crypto news site legit? Haven't heard of it unfortunately.

If this is true, then this is really HUGE. I always thought Sia was ahead of the file storage game, also because I've heard that some developers left Storj recently. But damn hero goes Storj with the big news. FileZilla is one of the most famous file storage sites I think.
17135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was your INITIAL motivation to buying Bitcoin on: July 22, 2017, 02:23:51 PM
At first the thing that attracted me to bitcoin is that I could send funds without account registrations and stuff, and also because in the past I had no paypal and credit card. With that reason itself I already got hooked. And when I knew about it being decentralized, I was just purely amazed.
17136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTONATOR SCAM COPY FROM RUSSIAN UNION HACKERS??? on: July 22, 2017, 11:34:28 AM
These kinds of scams have been around since forever. They're called phishing sites. There's been alot of phishing sites made for wallet sites like myetherwallet, etc. The best thing you can do is just report them to Google and warn others.
17137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: transferring money oversees question on: July 22, 2017, 08:00:06 AM
A) what's the cheapest/fastest/most secure/simple method of sending £20k abroad?  Or
B) what currency (including BTC) is the cheapest/fastest/most secure/simple for international transfers?

my question is a combination of these two questions.
think of it as having someone abroad (like your son in a university in another country) wanting to send him money but do it via bitcoin.
is there a way to reduce the costs and make this as efficient as possible?

What costs are you trying to prevent or reduce? transaction fees are like $4 tops. I think that's cheap enough to send £20k. The only downside of this is you need to teach him how to sell the bitcoins via the GDAX, since I think that's the exchange that Coinbase uses.
17138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cash-out or buy Alts before August 1? on: July 22, 2017, 06:24:31 AM
What the best choice?

You know what the best choice is? It is to decide on your own and not rely on other people's ideas and predictions.
You have internet connection. Therefore you have access to almost every articles on the internet about cryptocurrencies. If you're lazy, investing is not fore you. Simple as that.

17140  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best way to use Bitcoin in Trading? on: July 22, 2017, 03:37:33 AM
Can you be more specific? Your question is very vague. Is it to trade for other cryptocurrencies? Trade for FIAT?

I suggest that you edit your post. Give us a more specific question. We honestly can't help you with that kind of question.
