1721  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Warning! Be careful when you copy and paste bitcoin address from Electrum wallet on: July 15, 2019, 10:14:33 AM
Today, while trying to open my old wallet Electrum, the Trojan (Miner-AP trj) was detected by the Avast antivirus

That was probably a false positive. This issue has been addressed here. Altcoins miners and some software wallets are sometimes detected as malware. By the way, update Electrum.
1722  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Zap (Android) has been released! on: July 14, 2019, 09:02:18 AM
-snip

They have just released another update. The changelog indicates that they fixed a few bugs so it might now work properly for you. Did you reach out to the developers?
1723  Local / Polski / Re: Opera portfel on: July 14, 2019, 08:09:31 AM

1724  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Zap (Android) has been released! on: July 12, 2019, 03:45:57 PM
Anyone else having this issue?

Everything seems to be working on my side. What Android version do you have? They didn't change much in this update so that's surprising.
1725  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: July 11, 2019, 06:26:27 PM
Or maybe a zero-conf payment network? Cool

Sounds great but that's a false statement. I would rather stick to organized and serialized.

Since Libra will be based on the blockchain, I would hope someone can integrate Libra in LN too. Also, the merchant can accept BTC and then do an atomic swap for Libra, Tether, or whatever "stablecoin" that they prefer.

I haven't read much about Libra so I can't say if it's possible. Every Bitcoin fork with SegWit support can run the Lightning Network by making a few small changes in its code. It would be better if developers focused on improving the Lightning Network rather than wasting time on supporting another altcoin (assuming it was possible in this case).
1726  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Adding new coins to trezor on: July 11, 2019, 06:14:13 PM
You can reach out to Trezor developers easily by joining the official Telegram group. However, I doubt that they will take up your suggestion. The developers are busy with Trezor T's software and they have already received plenty of requests regarding new altcoins.
1727  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: July 10, 2019, 06:29:00 PM
There are significant distinctions between the two, though. For instance, the Lightning payment can be immediately used in a subsequent transaction without waiting for a block confirmation to occur.

Technically, merchants could accept 0-conf transactions which would be instant in such case but that would expose them to double-spending. Instead of believing users, they can set up a Lightning Network node and trust themselves.
1728  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Eclair wallet for mainnet on: July 10, 2019, 06:08:12 PM
Local backups are now available in Eclair Mobile. That's a good alternative for those who don't trust Google. Backups are always encrypted; it doesn't matter which method you choose. Both of them can be used at the same time. Also, it's possible to receive payments over the Lightning Network but this will cause the default timelocks to change.
1729  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: $160 fee to send $10? on: July 10, 2019, 03:26:30 PM
what is that icon in the bottom right? i've never seen that in electrum

It appears only if you select 'Use a hardware device' while creating a new wallet. The green dot indicates that the hardware wallet has been detected and unlocked. This is what the icon looks like if you have a Trezor device.

1730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How can I increase the appeal of my node? on: July 09, 2019, 06:13:07 PM
How fast can ssds go? My hard drive (from a decade ago) has a speed of 6gbs and they're much better at storing data than ssds as they don't have the 10000 write limit...

6Gb/s on a HDD? That's not possible. 6Gb/s is the maximum speed that SATA III connector can handle. HDDs usually have sequential reads and writes speeds at 160-180 MB/s while SATA III SSDs can go up to 550-600 MB/s. I personally use a NVMe SSD which takes advanatge of PCIe. Such drives can (sequentially) read data at the maximum of 3500 MB/s and write at 2500 MB/s (PCI 3.0 limitation; AMD now supports PCI 4.0).

Note: 6Gb/s is not the same as 6GB/s
1731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC send from bc1 adress tot old mycelium Legacy adress --> No BTC showing? on: July 09, 2019, 05:44:43 PM
Can I conclude that Mycelium is getting worse these days?

There are not many alternatives. I used to use Samourai but recently I have decided to switch to Blocksteam Green wallet. The former has some basic coin control while the latter displays balance in fiat. Check out these two wallets and choose the one that suits your needs.
1732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC send from bc1 adress tot old mycelium Legacy adress --> No BTC showing? on: July 09, 2019, 04:39:30 PM
This adress if from early 2016 and I still use this adress. (2016 means no Segwit activation)

It doesn't matter when your address was generated. Ability to receive transactions from native SegWit address depends on whether or not your wallet supports SegWit (explained here). Did you set up a passhrase for your wallet? Your coins are now on 147BoN5GqbsjaLkPbaxqWaQKA99Sqx3TGM. Try importing your seed into Electrum on your PC. Does new Mycelium app allow you to choose derivation path?

1733  Local / Polski / Re: Bitmarket zamknięty bez ostrzeżenia. on: July 09, 2019, 10:56:42 AM
1734  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Basics of the Lightning Network on: July 09, 2019, 09:24:55 AM
I made a few adjustments to this topic. I removed some information regarding wallets which need to be constantly updated. By the end of the month, I will publish a new thread about Lightning Network wallets.

Watchtowers – it is possible that the second party will attempt to cheat by broadcasting an old state of the payment channel. Normally, this would not be possible since the other node would broadcast a penalty transaction. To prevent frauds, the concept of watchtowers is being developed. Watchtowers will be able to broadcast a penalty transaction if necessary.

I have already explained in other threads that LND has introduced support for altruist watchtowers which don't take a cut if one party attempts to cheat. More features and varieties of watchtowers will be available in future updates.

there is no standard for safe backup

And it looks like there won't be anytime soon. Each implementation has its own backup solution. Eclair Mobile allows user to back up their channel state to Google Drive while LND and Eclair (desktop) support data loss protection and manual backups.
1735  Economy / Services / Re: BC's Lightning Network support service on: July 09, 2019, 08:28:39 AM
Damn good move by making this free of charge. This  will help people not only get familiar with Lightning network but it could push commerical adoption for ecommerce stores, freelancers etc. Kudos to you.

I don't have much experience with BTCPay Server so I am targeting individual users for the time being. Quite a lot of merchants have started accepting Lightning Network payments despite its early state.
1736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Raspberry Pi 4 performance on: July 08, 2019, 09:15:08 PM
I don't see why not just you couldn't stay with HDD. Sure it's slower, but if you want to run a full node (no pruned mode) then it makes sense to get a 4TB one and forget about hitting a limit for years.

I have started ditching HDDs mostly because they are much slower than SSDs (especially NVMe ones) and they are not shockproof. I wouldn't use an SSD for a budget build like the one with a Raspberry Pi, but spending $120 on a 1 TB SSD is a good deal if you are setting up a server which is supposed to handle a few different tasks beside running Bitcoin Core and LND.
1737  Local / Polski / Re: Ogólne rozmowy na temat kampanii sygnatur on: July 08, 2019, 08:28:28 PM

1738  Local / Polski / Re: Ogólne rozmowy na temat kampanii sygnatur on: July 08, 2019, 08:04:28 PM

1739  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: GreenAddress wallet rebrand to Blockstream Green on: July 08, 2019, 06:51:44 PM
Green now supports Liquid Network which is still less popular than the Lightning Network. Also, Ledger Nano X is now supported (only USB connection). Personally, I am going to replace Samoraui with this wallet. It supports only legacy and nested SegWit addresses but it can display fiat balance unlike Samourai which ditched it.
1740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please critique my planned Multi-Sig-Setup. on: July 08, 2019, 10:33:36 AM
ps. none of them should use trezor1 as the mnemonic can be extracted with a simple side channel attack

Trezor is aware of such attack and it can't be patched. Users can mitigate this attack by using a long passphrase. If you want to discuss this issue then visit this thread.
