1721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is there a way to associate bitcoin addresses? on: March 23, 2015, 11:07:19 PM
-snip-
You can only not be sure if when the addresses have been used in the same transaction, as only the owner of those addresses can do that. its possible for several people to create a shared transaction.

*cough* CoinJoin *cough*

Can you provide an example?

Another example of my own from Blockchain's shared send feature:
https://blockchain.info/tx/be4a639b6a1a37edbf447c06471b820ba60faa473bca4f0613f2465795082418

One of the input addresses of this TX and 2 of the outputs are mine. I have no idea whose all the other ones are.
If someone assumes that all the input addresses belong to the same person because they were signed in the same transaction, they would have made a big mistake.

turned 1 BTC into 56!
we can multiple your donation by 144 times its original value. Half of that goes to the team and the rest is funneled back out to you

At least learn some math if you want to scam people. Some English wouldn't hurt either.
1723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What's wrng with this transaction? And how can I help it go through? on: March 23, 2015, 09:58:30 PM
Blockhain.onfo didn't include a fee because the "frugal" option was on. What steps should I follow to do what you said with blockchain.info?

Also thanks for the advice.

As far as I know blockchain deletes the TX if it isn't included in a block in a while. How long has it been?
You could try this but only after waiting long enough:

1724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What's wrng with this transaction? And how can I help it go through? on: March 23, 2015, 09:52:43 PM
https://blockchain.info/en/tx/884f449978a8d31a44af3164249d7ec4ea2b97e1326266c39537bbc6bb3efdd7

I've been waiting for some days for it to verify, every day the date on it changes too. This is really weird...

Your TX can't be confirmed until this one is confirmed first, which doesn't have any fees:
https://blockchain.info/tx/93ef6652ac94b2da1a497233985e497ce89648719800d648c5b41d1855b9e592

Where did you send it from? If it keeps changing most probably your wallet keeps re-broadcasting it.
You should delete the TX, wait a few days and then re-broadcast it with a proper fee.
1725  Economy / Economics / Re: destroying bitcoins on: March 23, 2015, 08:42:34 PM
Do people actually fall for this?

It seems they don't, fortunately. Only TX is OP's.
1726  Economy / Auctions / Re: 475 GB of data trasfer @ PrivateTunnel.com • $47.50 worth starting at 0.1 BTC on: March 23, 2015, 07:14:00 PM
Last bump. If there are no bids in a few days I will lock the thread.
Feel free to bid while it's unlocked. PM me if you're interested and the thread is already locked.
1727  Economy / Economics / Re: destroying bitcoins on: March 23, 2015, 06:46:13 PM
Since the bitcoinprice decreased a lot last year I would like to destroy some bitcoins.
Destroying some bitcoins can have a serious positive impact on the price
If every human being could destroy 0.001 BTC we would half the amount of bitcoins in circulation, increasing the price of bitcoin in compare to other currencies.
But every satoshi could help a bit... This is the best way to support bitcoin

The private key of this wallet is lost (on purpose) and those bitcoins will never be able to get out of this wallet (or heaven?  Cheesy )
1NCXw6rkcdfDuKRbhVhrshzHD9QQkQiVAr

People who helped destroy bitcoins to raise the btc-price:
leen93 : 10.000 satoshis

FIRST GOAL TO REACH : 100.000 satoshi

LOL nice try. If you really want to send bitcoins to the void (and not just donate to OP) send them here: 1CounterpartyXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXUWLpVr
or even here 1EcuaMobiDoNotSendBTCHereXXYcbk8Da

But seriously, just don't.
1728  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoins are so expensive on Ebay? on: March 23, 2015, 04:44:46 PM
So if there was a product that was shipped with a tracking number as part of a bitcoin purchase on ebay, then it fulfills Paypal's criteria and a chargebacks are no longer possible?

I've read cases that the buyer says he never bought that item (because of account being compromised or whatever) so he sends the received item back (while keeping the bitcoins of course). On some cases PayPal refunds the payment after confirming the package was sent back.
Seriously there's no way to make a charge back impossible. There could be some measures to reduce the risk but there's no bullet proof method.
1729  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Selling Sr. Member account with green trust on: March 23, 2015, 03:56:45 PM
Selling a Sr. Member account, multiple green positive trust.

Will be using escrow.

Please respond or PM with offers.

Can you provide a signed message for prove the ownership of the account? A simple request, thanks for the attention.

Can you please elaborate on what this entails? Do you mean a signed message of a BTC address related to the account?

Yes he means signing a message (which includes current date and probably the name of the buyer of the account) signed with a bitcoin address published by that account several months ago.
You don't need to publish that message now, just let us know if you do have access to a private key to sign a message later when the deal is closed.
1730  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: 13 BTC Needed - Will Provide Collateral or btcjam listing on: March 23, 2015, 03:53:19 PM
altcoins? Im going to look into this now

It doesn't make sense for you to buy altcoins just for this, you may as well lend that money to your cousin instead of spending on altcoins.
Altcoins are used as collateral if you already have them and don't want to spend yet.
Just go to a local bank.
1731  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: 13 BTC Needed - Will Provide Collateral or btcjam listing on: March 23, 2015, 03:46:04 PM
13btc = 3500

what you need?  I have a few owned cars but they all go above that price and all being used between wife and kids i have

I may put a title on the boat "mastercraft prostar 190" 1988

I have a few other things, i guess depends the value that is needed.

I would need digital goods easy to sell, like altcoins. I guess I can't help here then.
Of course you can't ship a car to me or an escrow to be held until the loan is repaid.
A loan from a local bank would be a much better option for you in this case.
1732  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: 13 BTC Needed - Will Provide Collateral or btcjam listing on: March 23, 2015, 03:38:14 PM
but if you have 13BTC then maybe i can help with collateral

Exactly what collateral would you be able to provide?
1733  Economy / Auctions / Re: TLD-like domain: MOBI.TL • 0.05 BTC on: March 23, 2015, 12:27:21 PM
This is still available. 4 days to go.
1734  Other / Meta / Re: General/shared ignore list on: March 22, 2015, 11:09:32 PM
I wouldn't suggest staff members to create these lists, just manage the team. Because staff doesn't ignore users it would be more appropriate for regular (but trusted) members to do so.
A general consensus could work but I see some problems like:
  • It would be much harder to merge so many lists.
  • Too few people would be in 50%+ of the lists. Even if somebody publishes useless posts only most probably he wouldn't be on most lists because most people didn't see it. Measures can be taken but again it could be controlled better with fewer lists.
Besides I do think sock puppets could be created to alter this list. Why do you say it wouldn't be a problem if the idea is not too popular? If anyone can create the lists but only a few is interest and does, wouldn't that mean that fewer sock puppet accounts would be required to reach a bigger percentage of the consensus?
1735  Other / Meta / General/shared ignore list on: March 22, 2015, 09:42:20 PM
I got this idea from DannyHamilton's thread. While I don't agree how it's being handled by him I do like the general idea.
This wouldn't be a forum feature, just the team work of several active trusted members here. A staff member could organize.

  • Several trusted members join the team. We need to define the rules for a member to be accepted.
  • While they post and read as normal they would ignore members who create low-quality posts, scammers, spammer, trolls and other users who are not helpful for the forum. Every person can have their own logic but some important rules must be followed, for example: the users must not be ignored by default (non-guilty until proven otherwise) and as far as possible personal disputes must not influence.
  • If an ignored member is quoted by an unignored user and the quote shows the ignored user's post was helpful, he should be unignored or at least re-considered.
  • Once in a while (for example every month) the members of this team who are satisfied with their own list can submit it to the organizer.
  • If a member appears in several lists (let's say 50%+ -a threshold to be set-) he's added to a general ignore list, which is published.
  • Anyone is free to decide whether or not to apply this list. It wouldn't be applied by default.
  • In the future after further discussion and agreement and after we're sure it's a quality list it could be used for other purposes. For example signature campaigns could exclude users who appear in this list, or exclude them only after being there for 2+ months, or just reduce the payment, as they see fit.

I already posted this idea on DannyHamilton's self-moderated thread but it was just deleted by him without any comment (most probably because I am on his ignore list simply for joining a signature campaign). I'd like to know other people's opinion.

Quote from: EcuaMobi
I agree signature campaigns have greatly reduced the quality of posts recently and I like the idea of a general ignore list that most users can use. However these reasons are very poor and not at all sufficient for someone to be added into this list:
  • You have participated in a sig ad campaign
  • You have had a sig that I mistakenly thought was part of a sig ad campaign

There are people that publish quality posts and who have joined a signature campaign. I understand that analyzing case by case would require a lot of effort and time, and it would be annoying to go through all those ads so I understand your method completely. However this first list that includes all the users with a signature campaign is not ready to be shared at all, especially not by a trusted member who will definitely influence other users.

In a few months, after completing this step continually, your list will be high quality but not just yet:
Then, if I happen to see that some other user quotes something an ignored user says AND the quote indicates that the ignored user is creating thoughtful and useful posts, I click "unignore"

I'd very much like the idea of creating a shared quality 'ignore list'. However it should be made by several trusted members after properly analyzing posts/accounts case by case. Then the users who are in at least half of those lists would be added to a shared/general one. Signature campaigns could even reject users who are in this resulting list. This would definitely improve the overall quality of posts here.

If you are welcoming ideas please move this thread to Meta, otherwise I'd appreciate if at least you read my post completely before deleting it.

1736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How I can accept bitcoin with https://github.com/blockchain/receive_payment_php on: March 22, 2015, 05:14:14 PM
2 huge problems here:

  • Quote
    %3C?%20echo%20
Your PHP is not being interpreted. Make sure PHP is installed and working.
  • You can't run this on localhost. Blockchain.info's server needs to reach it publicly.

And no that's not your $secret. It has nothing to do with your wallet. Now that you've published it change it asap in your wallet!
Your $secret can be any random string.
1737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How I can accept bitcoin with https://github.com/blockchain/receive_payment_php on: March 22, 2015, 04:58:13 PM
Yes I Have following Instruction.
My Database is OK, and work well
Just problem with <div class="blockchain stage-paid">  Undecided

How do you know the problem is there? Did you see the log? What does it say?
Can you share your site's URL?
1738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How I can accept bitcoin with https://github.com/blockchain/receive_payment_php on: March 22, 2015, 04:47:13 PM
I guess you mean https://github.com/blockchain/receive_payment_php_demo
$secret can be anything as long as it's private and nobody knows it. I'm sure that's not the issue here.

You did set $mysite_root correctly didn't you? It should point to your real domain were your site is installed. Also, did you create the DB, run the mysql script and set the credentials correctly on settings?
1739  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can somebody send me at least 10 tBTC? on: March 22, 2015, 02:01:57 PM

1740  Economy / Auctions / Re: Multiple domain auction! on: March 22, 2015, 01:43:33 PM
So weak interest? It's cheap now and nobody wants it. When I put higher prices, some people post like they hate me because of it. Where are they now?
Can't believe that people are just trolling about it here.
If I for any reason cancel this auction, would you ask me "why did you do it"?
As I think I am going to cancel it and sell all on Namecheap auction.
Why? As there are people at least buying @10-15$ per domain which is much better price and at least sale is 100% at that price.
If no more offers will cancel it.

Do you mean cancelling current bids too? You shouldn't do that, you already committed to your own set of rules.
I see no problem if you cancel the auction for items that haven't received any bids yet.
