NXT----obviously, it's a great idea! but it's too hard to use, we cann't spend whole time to keep eye on the screen to check if the block stucked or not. if no one could solve this ploblem, i dare to say: NXT will disappear soon. the good idea must supported by easy way to use ,but NXT.....

Any new thing is hard to use.
The first car was terrible to use, the first bike, the first vacuum cleaner, washing machine etc. etc. etc.

Things get better with time. Iīve spent most of the day (for perspective) reading old old threads and articles about Bitcoin. Itīs a hoot!
In almost every thread you saw people putting it down and mocking it in terms of "itīs for nerds and will never get anywhere".

I am willing to bet quite a lot of money that these people are groaning very loudly since april and/or the beginning of december.

Only time will tell, but donīt come complaining if you missed yet another boat.

I am in negative now ?? there was 59000 on my account, wrong blocks?

I had the same problem. Scared the hell out of me.

Solved by restarting client.

Is it true that the only way for someone to get their first NXT coins would be to purhcase them or be given them? Since there is no proof of work system? I understand that you can forge more once you own some, but how do you get your initial NXT ?

You can get one NXT at the faucet link on the first page of this thread.
Also, there are some giveaways around on the NXT forum: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/board,29.0.html
But those are fairly small quantities. So basically you have to pay for NXT. different than other coins which you can mine from scratch

True, if you want 1000+ quantities, you have to buy (invest money) or help out (invest time/effort)

Mind you, there are/were some 500 NXT giveaways. Thatīs a relatively good sum.

If you think this is worthwhile to invest in, do so. If not, donīt. Itīs as simple as that, really.

In the long run it will create NXT oligarchs and the rest - the paupers.

That's entirely possible, yes.
I'm not one of the "haves", either, but I felt it needed pointing out  Smiley
So many people come into this trying to get something for nothing. Just not going to happen.
If it does happen (writer Dan Brown comes to mind  Wink) it's a one-off and not to be taken as a good example of how things work.

It depends on your NXT holdings. The more you have the more you earn. It's making rich richer. No joke.

That's the exactly the same for any investment that pays interest. The more you have invested, the more you receive.

Yes, but that's exactly what makes the current system flawed. Isn't it? Richer get richer, poorer get poorer.

No, this is incorrect.

The rich get richer easier than the poor. The "poor" still earn NXT. It's just less noticeable.

Basically like in the real world. Not just, not fun, but basically a fact of life.

If you come into cryptocoins to get rich without investing (be it money, time, efforts or ideas) you will not succeed.

I had no problems all day, but now I earlier in the evening chains stopped coming in.

I tried stopping java, removing blocks.nxt, but now I don't even get peers anymore.

I'm on 0.4.2.

Any suggestions?

Something for nothing in what we call "the real world" does not exist.

If you make that your rule of thumb on the internet, too, you won't be hugely disappointed if your shitload of gold does not arrive on your doorstop  Grin

However, if you put in the time and effort, you can make moneys on the web.

If you want freebies, you might as well go beg in the street. It's basically the same thing.
