I had no problems all day, but now I earlier in the evening chains stopped coming in. I tried stopping java, removing blocks.nxt, but now I don't even get peers anymore. I'm on 0.4.2. Any suggestions?

Something for nothing in what we call "the real world" does not exist. If you make that your rule of thumb on the internet, too, you won't be hugely disappointed if your shitload of gold does not arrive on your doorstop However, if you put in the time and effort, you can make moneys on the web. If you want freebies, you might as well go beg in the street. It's basically the same thing.
