I am in for a session!

Obviously, if someone you can't trust knows or can guess your passphrase, you are doomed.

That and you have to wear a tinfoil hat so the government can't read your thoughts from space...

Another one (alas Nvidia) but still:

http://www.corsair.com/blog/using-a-hydro-series-h70-on-a-nvidia-geforce-gtx480/

I'm going to try it with a 5870...maybe even get a second H50 and try a 5970  Grin

I would be gentle with it...I see serious thermal stress in cooling only one little portion of the entire card, but it's worth a try.
1724  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: to crossfire or not to crossfire on: August 07, 2011, 10:19:42 PM
I don't want to use dummy plugs since I lose 3-5 MH/s per dummy plug, so I crossfired a pair of 5770's yesterday.  Now, I can access both DEVICE=0 and DEVICE=1 with no monitors attached (TightVNC), and the pair are hashing along at 220 MH/s each.

I don't see any wasted performance ... ?

I run 3x6970 crossfired with no performance issues. Better than dicking with two non-existant monitors.

Gooddamn I wish I had a CNC table router.

Yep just saw that.  Oh well.  Checking Corsair site now to see if the other systems have the pump inside the cooling head.

Alternatively you could just use the cpu head as the pump for a GPU block.  Might have to try it out and see...

I don't see why that wouldn't work, as long as the rest of the card wasn't getting too hot. I have an H70 running on my processor, and I really like it. Low profile, and super stable temps.
1727  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Hacking off CPU cooler from Corsair H50 to add GPU waterblock.... on: August 07, 2011, 09:44:19 PM
I think the pump is in the sink portion of the device, so hack it off and you are only left with a radiator and some useless tubes hanging off it.

Bitcoin is not Libertarian, Liberal, Conservative, Progressive, Democrat, Republican, Christian, Muslim, or JEW.

Ok, all I said was Libertarians like bitcoins. I don't see what your problem is with that. What I do think is your putting to much of a value on the community aspect of bitcoin. Guess what, there isnt any. Just a bunch of sharks swimming around chatting with each other waiting for the next meal.

Now, what I do find offensive is your use of "JEW" next time you write a line like that use Hebrew. Kind of makes you sound like a racist there.

You are a fucking idiot. Jew is not a racial slur. Next time you write, know what you're talking about. Kind of makes you sound like a fool here.
Oh fuckface.. "JEW" written all caps like is a racial slur.. I happen to be Jewish now fuck off.

Damn, you're jewish? You must be freaking out right now, watching all these shinies slip through your fingers.

I didn't know caps made ordinary PC terms into racial slurs, SIR. I hope you have a wonderful day, FELLA.
Go back to your trailer and dream of someday owning a double wide.

That's all you got, Mordecai? MORDECAI?

Well, it's what you want to do in an up and down market.

Too bad this market is going down. You'll be able to have all the btc in the world... but they'll be worth 0 USD

You could better employ your ability to read the future by solving crimes that haven't happened yet.

forexpro:

firstly it's not anonymous, all transactions can be traced. (It's called block explorer).

secondly, what good has the central bank done to your currency? whether it was the swiss or japanese this week, or Fed with their QEx's. the dollar's has only gone down in value in the past 90 years.

and trust me there's plenty of speculators. in fact you're probably one of them trying to bring its value down so you can buy it up later.

oh and read the whitepaper first, boy. you'll know what you're talking about

dear noob:

1)you can press quote to direct response
2)bitcoin is anonymouse, tracking ip addresses is not "tracing" and does not guarantee anything
3)central bank does a lot to currency, such as stopping depreciation and many other manipulations to maintain stability
4)you obviously don't know what you are talking about

1737  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is mtgox.com being DDOSed? on: August 07, 2011, 03:19:25 AM
Yeah, buy at 6.00 just to see it go down to 5.50 a few hours later.

I'll buy when I see the price stable (not changing more then 10% a day) for a week or two. From there it should go up.

What foolish logic...it seems you fancy yourself a mystic. Do you see the future in dreams, or does it come to you in flashes when you touch objects? Is it spirits that tell you what happens next? Are you in fact the second incarnation of Christ, coming to bring forth the BitRapture and cast the spawn of evil into the fiery depths of hell?

Historically, the price has never been stable for a week or two, and when does come to pass, it indicates nothing of future events. If I had faith in the security of any of these exchanges, I would be buying up a storm right now. Instead, I will watch my mining proceeds trickle in and cross my fingers that this difficulty drop does in fact happen.
