1721  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Senate wants end to police harassment and extortion on: July 05, 2023, 04:50:35 PM
Omo the matter don dey possibly get head because from wetin I dey see ehn Nigeria Police don begin sit up. Why I say so because  e get the video wey dey circulate for social media for long wey one police inspector slap one paddy man wey wear white for road  based on say the guy dey try to talk to am but him no gree. After that, police  high command
conduct  necessary investigation, and the disciplinary commission recommend say make dem demote the officer found guilty of the offence and them do am on air for Nigerians to see. The other officer wey dey there wey the matter happen wey for call him colleague to order was reprimanded while their driver wey supposed dey duty post but no where to find am face dismissal.

So I no doubt if police don sit up as senate don begin shook eye for their matter.  If Dem dey behave like this, I believe say Nigerians no go dey complain too much of police and their  brutality. I dey even hear say Rivers State government don even call the commissioner of police to earn him bois to not harass Rivers youth and citizens for the state.
1722  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Was Nigeria actually paying subsidy on fuel? on: July 05, 2023, 04:15:05 PM
Based one the topic of this thread, I will say this that I strongly doubt the authenticity of this fuel subsidy of a thing. I am fully aware of the oil swap deal  which was held last year so tell me after swapping the oil, what else? did they not reach agreement for something in return? What was the agreement and the product they agreed on returning upon swap? You see these are the questions I keep asking and waiting for an answer.  The government claimed they are paying for fuel subsidy which some few individuals sit at their comfort zone to feast on it.
OP the truth was that Nigeria was actually doing that but just some few were eating the money and I was wondering what then the oil swap was for.
1723  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How difficult life would have been without Cryptocurrency awareness in Nigeria on: July 05, 2023, 03:50:27 PM
No doubt about your point OP as it is audibly loud and visibly clear to everyone who has been a part of this platform long before now and those who just joined not quite too long that bitcoin has done more than what some government and politicians have done in our country. This platform has made many  from nothing to something and still counting. Waiting for government and white collar Job was not feasible but making out time todo  much research  and learn counts to more discovery.
In all, the Crypto currency awareness has done much in Nigeria and still needs more awareness campaign as there are still million and one person's ready to adopt it but have possibly not gotten the information about it properly.
1724  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: July 05, 2023, 03:29:35 PM
In some cases, these casinos claims of hack as a result of data leakage which I see as a cooked up story. In the real sense, most data are being traded in exchange for something based on their agreement.
trading data that the casino might carry out to other parties, it is actually detrimental to the casino. maybe you can argue about their hacked security system, but that will reduce the member's trust.
this kind of thing usually happens in casinos that are almost bankrupt. or indeed their reputation has started badly. so they no longer care about the data being sold. because maybe casinos like that can close their casinos and do similar businesses with different names.

Wether bankrupt, gaining or loosing members trust or not  if they want to sell clients data , they could do it as that is just their ways. If I may ask do you know what goes on within the team members? I know you would tell me no. That is the more reason there is the possibility of they trading with their clients data which is possibly right. Most people have no Idea all these they do and at some point, they act very strange of blocking and suspending clients account which is very terrible and frame up stories just to get data from the client before releasing the wins to them and in some cases, they do not give them their wins not to talk of their investment..
1725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sold the altcoins and invested in Bitcoin" on: July 05, 2023, 03:00:08 PM
You took a bold and daring step to investing your funds in bitcoin. Selling your altcoin is not a bad idea if you deem it fit to do so but would it not have been better you had kept like 10 to 15 percent of your altcoin as you never can tell which of them could pump soonest as shitcoin are fond of that.

However, you are still on the right track as bitcoin is currently still low. At this point, if there is any upward movement in bitcoin price definitely, you are making some good profits and moreover, halving is around the corner so therefore you have nothing to loss. As risky as the it is, no body can tell the next swing bitcoin can make.

Talking about saving your bitcoin, trust wallet is not bad but you would need a more technologically sophisticated wallet just as Charles_Tim have said. Make sure to research and study the wallet properly before attempting to use it so you do not make any mistake.
1726  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: July 05, 2023, 10:33:03 AM
KYC is basically a prerequisite for most online casinos. They do this in other to know who they are dealing with. Moreover, it is believed that such policies are mostly from government imposed on most casinos as to know and have details of their clients and how much they spend to know basically their source of wealth.

KYC keeps track of ones activities online and offline one done because I believe government request this from casinos as enshrined in their terms of operations when signing up.

In some cases, these casinos claims of hack as a result of data leakage which I see as a cooked up story. In the real sense, most data are being traded in exchange for something based on their agreement.
I do not see KYC as safe though but one have no choice than to tag along if you must have asses to those platforms.
1727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Importance of quality posts. on: July 05, 2023, 09:51:26 AM
OP, people see posts from different view and perspective. What i might see in a post to qualify it as a quality post might not be your own aspect of quality post but in all, a post must be able to communicate and send reasonable meaning to anyone who reads it. Such post should be able to teach or pass across some messages which is vital and in line with the topic of discussion to show that the poster is really in up and doing in following up with conversations.

You can create a fresh topic or reply a comment in your own opinion which should be able enough to inform the audience or reader.
1728  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What steps should I take to succeed here? on: July 05, 2023, 09:30:17 AM
avoid clicking any random link or participating airdrop/giveaway.

You are right on this mate. This aspect is where many people really have no clues about. I myself have had that experience but atleast I was very cautious when I engaged it as I was curious to know what was the outcome and possibly noticing what the process was like.

Lots of hack and scam have taken place as a result of these miserable random links sent to  people's email which they have no idea about. Many would have been able to avert it but are not aware  that some of those random links are sent with malware's to corrupt and steal their details with which the scammers would use to steal from them. It is unfortunate that up to this moment some people are still falling victim of these nefarious act.

I think people should start marking email domain as junk so that anything coming from that host should go directly to the junk box and not treated as serious and important.
1729  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: My experience, a lesson to others. on: July 05, 2023, 08:03:16 AM
From what I can deduce here, I see OP was only informed about bounties here that was why he had no knowledge of some forum policies and does not know about other activities too not until he decided to do a research by wanting to expound his horizons. He was lucky he wasn't tagged a shitposter and that would have been the end of his account but since it happened he was granted an olive branch, I think he should make good use of the opportunity so as to remain relevant otherwise any lapses from OP again could be a serious problem for I'm as he has been granted pardon initially.
1730  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: As you go about preaching the sermon of bitcoins on: July 05, 2023, 07:26:21 AM
OP, you see wetin you talk na very correct one. Some people don already get the mindset say bitcoin na quick quick money dey come out from am but in the reality no be so. Them no understand how the process be and how the market dey go and where some people dey get am wrong when dem dey talk to people about bitcoin be say Dem no dey tell Dem raw as the bitcoin market be so that Dem go save themselves the stress of  accusations.

If you are teaching people about bitcoin, it should be in your best interest of telling them everything raw. Do not hide it or want to cover anything as it requires one investing their funds because if anything should happen and it resulting to them making loss, believe me they would come after you. Do not press or talk them into investing but rather how it works and the risk involved so they would know before time to save you some stress.
1731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk; a school on its own. on: July 05, 2023, 01:18:11 AM
The intriguing and interesting part about the forum is that knowledge is shared at no cost and with no hoarding of ideas.

Shared knowledge is never lost instead it is rewarded so in that case any knowledge shared is worth  sharing. As such it helps build up the forum and her members to be able to scale through in further development. Education is mostly about shared knowledge and creating impart in human lives. Here we have millions of registered members from various nations and ethnics who are here to learn and to share their ideas in various walks of life and bringing in their skills into the platform for others to see and learn from while rendering services too.
1732  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk own Casino complaint panel on: July 04, 2023, 09:05:38 PM
I remember vividly clearly some times early this year I raised a topic similar to this on the gambling board but it was refuted while some were okay with the opinion but it was let go just like that and nothing happened. I think it is nice you put up this topic again because this is a major concern of gambling boards and if you check the scam accusations board, you would notice the majority of the complaints are basically against casinos and looking at it, it would be better such proposals is looked into to further minimise the rate at which these occurences takes place.
1733  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Invest small money and get big money avoid them. on: July 04, 2023, 04:18:47 PM
I got this last week ending, is it not foolish for anyone to believe in this kind of fake salary? Definitely it is obvious that scammers sent me the message and they are only wasting their time.

Aside ignorant, people are also very greedy and they are easily deceived by what they supposed to know that are not real but fake.

I had similar experience last year when a scammer sent me a message of a job offer. Me being so curious and wanting to finish it all up followed this guy wanting to know who the hell he is. I called the guy the paddy man congratulate me very well dey tell me say I dey amongst the people wey their headquarters approve to fly go work with them for abroad there. I come begin reason the guy man how the arrangements go be. The man say e no go cost me much say make I just begin prepare myself to travel. Naim I come ask am for appointment letter him mouth begin shake him say appointment letter and the message which one dey me very important as e be say I don call am confirm say Dem don employ me. Na laugh I begin laugh for phone.

Fast forward to the stage of him telling me to bring money for passport and other documents naim I tell am  say I no get shishi say na the last cash wey dey my phone I dey use call am like this say if him no mind make him send me money so I go recharge
call person wey go  borrow me money so that I go send to am to facilitate the process the paddy man drop then call block my line.

Na so I take discharge am o. Those guys Dem think say Dem smart. If you no shine eye for them, they would have their ways of doings which Dem fit undo you.
1734  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What steps should I take to succeed here? on: July 04, 2023, 02:58:54 PM
Consistency, if you really want to learn and into earn in Bitcoin even though takes time consumes go for it, newbies in crypto makes an investment asap because they afraid of getting late white the hype, but the problem is they don't even have the fundamentals at the end they keep looking at the price of the bitcoin every day, gets frustrated when the market down and pulled their investment at the back and the worst case is the quit but if you are one of the knowledgeable and prepared how does the bitcoin work you don't need to get anxious Every time market moves.

You are correct sir, being consistent is another key factor to knowing how serious and committed one is to doing something. It shows one's eagerness and willingness to learn. If you check, most people who achieved great heights always say something of being consistent and that has guide them through to achieving success and they tell it as part of their success story and it takes a committed and focused person to be consistent in learning. So I must say, anyone who is thinking if learning about bitcoin must be committed and have that passion and drive to learn only then would one learn it properly and gain more knowledge and experience on it.

Sincerely speaking I lack words to use in expressing or classifying this forum because I have never seen a platform that is more organized, informative and useful than this forum in terms of bitcoin & Altcoin related discussions. This place is more than a school, the most surprising aspect of it is that you may venture here without knowing anything, anybody, but certainly business deal or transactions and even discussions would creates that avenue to starts interacting with people especially at the local boards., I believe out of 80 percent to 90 percent of people who are here can clearly attest to the good of this forum except those that are not willing to learn and educates them from this forum could down rate it.
Well its something the creator has made a big legacy to the entire Globe even though he is nowhere to be found but I believe his names and memories can never be forgotten.
Sure mate the founder of this platform has created a good legacy and it has precedence over any other platforms in existence talking about bitcoin. As you have said, one who is desperate to be updated on bitcoin and other Crypto activities should not fail to show up here as this platform got all it takes to educate anyone wanting to be informed on bitcoin.

To the best of my knowledge, I believe everyone member who started here never started as they are currently. Some started as novice, some got little information before becoming a member here. In all, nobody who got to register here remained the same the way they were before. They all have acquired knowledge and exposure and have benefited hugely from this platform. This platform made many men today who can attest to it that they got to their peak from this platform.
1736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stories about lost Bitcoin on: July 04, 2023, 01:16:10 PM
I have really not had that experience of one scamming me of my hard earned resources not to talk of deceiving me to give them my login details or my seed phrase. I joined this platform with my eyes wide open to learning more about bitcoin and detecting scams and scammers was very easy for me because I took my time to read posts and comments to know more about them.

The only thing was that I lost access to my wallet as a result of my phone crash then which I could not recall were I kept the seed phrase to that wallet and that was my weekly pay wallet I had then. It was very painful to me because I don't take such for granted but it took me unawares and I had nothing to do to gain access to it till this very moment.
1737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Knowledgeable before Bitcoin investment is very Good on: July 04, 2023, 01:05:03 PM
The haste of making money fast is not easy to escape unless you don't have the money yet, and that's why I believe that your point is valid, if you don't have the money for investment you can have time to lead about Bitcoin and how to be safe in this crazy wild west.

I've learned a few things the hard way in crypto but I have heard about the worst cases of new investors that are close to me, that's when I understand that mistakes can be avoided only when you don't stop learning, and also your mistakes will be limited compare to those that don't create the time to study the most important things in Bitcoin investment.

Indeed making money is not easy as you think. It requires patience, commitment and perseverance to accomplish.  The course of quick money sometimes is as a result of greed and impatience and it leads to one falling prey of scammers because they would believe anything they are told without digging into it to do a research themselves to know if truly they are hearing the right or wrong thing.

As you have said, mistakes can be avoided when one devotes their time to acquiring knowledge through research and reading. This would give them exposure to what they are inquisitive about thereby  enlightening them more about the matter for which they seek to know as the case may be.
1738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk; a school on its own. on: July 03, 2023, 10:57:39 PM
Bitcointalk is indeed a better place to build new networks of people and learn different things everyday in the cryptocurrency space. Do we pay a tuition fee here? I think its different from a school, the education we get here is exceptional, as we learn through individual efforts and also practice what we've learnt here, it helps to cement the ideas on our brain. The forum has histories or stories like any school, we have threads to point back and reflect on, which helps us to recall that many prominent bitcoin users once used this platform.

Truly we make friends and connect here by virtue of communicating with each other and contributing our knowledge and ideas in one way or the other for members of this platform to learn. Here we learn, unlearn, and relearn on course to acquire more knowledge of the new crypto and bitcoin development and innovation. As you have said, this platform setting is quite different from a school setting as things are done here individually when one decides to put efforts into their course of learning and contributing while they remain on board this platform.
1739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Not your keys, Not your coins" is not enough on: July 03, 2023, 10:41:38 PM
I think if you say "not your keys, not your coins" consider that you don't have to use CEX. Because what I have observed in the market is that when terms to this kind of exchanges you don't own the private key. You ask why people choose CEX, in my opinion, it's because of CEX is fast and you can easily transfer funds to Funding, Spot Wallet, and Futures Account without any fees. In fact, people mostly uses this exchange for businesses. So since "not your keys, not your coins", it's better to stay away your funds to CEX when you're just holding it for a long time.

I think in terms of trading, CEX got more advantage than DEX as CEX have a good platform and base for traders to ply their trading. No fees and easy access to funds instead of paying fees to transfer or swap continuously but at that, your funds are still not safe. Your details with them are not secured at some point, they are likely going to leak your information to third parties in exchange for whatever they deem fit to get. So the idea of "not your keys, not your coin" is not bad but a piece of advice in advance to take caution while dealing with CEX as they can not be trusted to handle funds and data safely.
1740  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats your thought on: July 03, 2023, 08:54:58 PM
The sudden surge in bitcoin price is a reaction to market demand which came as a result on purchase from bitcoin whales and possible investors. The pump is not a pump as you think because bitcoin current price has not gone beyond the previous all time high. Not until it is above the all time high, then we can categorically say that bitcoin has pumped but as for now, let us say bitcoin is retracing until it is above the previous all time high.
