I think we will need better security to prevent people from getting hacked before bitcoin is really for everyone ( including the non-computer literate ). As it is, it is mostly limited to those that are computer skilled.

Yeah as long as people keep using it, it probably won't fail. If it gets replaced or abandoned, then it wouldn't be useful any longer.

It would be interesting if the hashing was also used for brute forcing but it is quite unlikely as bitcoin hashing isn't used for other purposes.

I agree that people need to be properly trained in how to protect their coins and prevent being hacked. Without this, it will not make for a safe currency.

There is also a limited number of coins that can exist so to prolong the ability to give block rewards, it needs to be lowered as we get closer to that max limit I think.
