1721  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coinbase Commerce: still working? on: November 23, 2023, 06:39:32 PM

There are two Coinbase commerce the self-managed and Coinbase-managed you might be created a self-managed one that generates 12-phase seed backup which is why it only supports USDC.

THAT'S it! CB Support also sent me an answer with correct link to self-managed dashboard with exactly that as a reason. Thanks!

Glad that you're able to sort out this issue, now you can conveniently use two different coinbase wallets for your two different shops. I don't use coinbase, I'm just in this thread to learn with you, and I'm glad that you went to their reliable source, the support service.

Crypto understanding is very vast, it's not easy to acquire every knowledge, this is why this forum is a store of crypto knowledge value.
1722  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Binance CEO don plead guilty to Money Laundering, Wetin go do Binance now? on: November 23, 2023, 05:33:51 PM
Wetin de happen to top exchanges wey crypto holders take get trust for excellent exchange services. From FTX, to bittrex, wey want to shut down, now to binance, wey CZ want to resign and hand over to Richard Teng, what if dem ideology no rhyme, or if di new CEO no bring innovation wey go restore customers trust? Den e fit be di beginning of di end for binance.

Anyway e go be shame if a big and reliable exchange like binance, fit to go down, because e go de hard to trust exchanges again . As e be now people go just de move from one exchange to another because of lack of trust, dis one no be good news for cryptocurrency matter.
1723  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Flood the natural disaster on: November 23, 2023, 01:47:27 PM
This natural disaster is something that has become a yearly nightmare all around the world...
It displaces people... properties... businesses...lost of lives.etc
I think there should be an organization all around the world to tackle this to an extent..
What's your take on this?

Except for Red Cross, I'm not familiar with the names of any other humanitarian organizations that assists in natural and manmade disasters, but I know that we have many of them.  We have many NGOs and Charity organizations that comes to the aid of victims of natural disasters like flood. Nobody can cheat or challenge nature, when it comes with disasters like flood, volcanoes, earthquakes and the rest, people living in those areas becomes vulnerable with the destructions that cones with them. So in these cases the victims must need help, and these many humanitarian organizations are available to give the needed care. I believe that these organizations get their fundings from philanthropists, governments and other well meaning organizations.
1724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto terms used by profetionals on: November 23, 2023, 11:41:46 AM
By now OP should have more than enough links to understanding the terminologies of bitcoin, hope he makes time to go through them, because it could be overwhelming to read everything at once and understand. Although the best way to learn very fast is to be active in the forum, every board has it's uniqueness, you open one and choose a discussion that can be helpful to you as a learner. Don't expect to understand everything in a day or a month, it's a gradual process, before you know it you'll be using the terminologies too. Most of us has passed through that stage of learning, in fact I'm still learning everyday, so be active in the forum and it'll happen naturally.
1725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone been able to make steady income with gambling ? on: November 23, 2023, 10:31:49 AM
Has anyone been able to make steady income with gambling ? If yes, what had been your strategy ? Do you diversify to multiple games in order to ensure that end result is always profit ?

I personally feel that there are very less chances of making a steady income with gambling. In fact, if you win a big amount in gambling, from there on , you should play games with less on stake and keep the winnings invested in some good option like crypto. It is important to have self control to end profitably with gambling ventures online. Do you agree with this ?

Gambling is risky and depending on it as a source of income is even more riskier, because if you carry out a feasibility study of gambling experiences, you'll find out that the chances of losing is far greater than winnings. So with that fact in mind you'll find out that it won't be a wise decision to depend on gambling as a source of income, because you don't plan your survival on something that depends on luck to materialize.

Gambling should be for fun, a place where you can go to thrill your self, you bet the amount that you can afford to lose, so whether you win or lose, doesn't matter so much in the end.
1726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: investing a money on: November 23, 2023, 09:25:51 AM
Let's assume we have a) $5000 b) $10000 c) $15000 to invest, what do you suggest?

My advice to you as a new investor is don't invest all your capital at once, decide on a percentage to start the investment with, then see how it goes, before deciding again if you're comfortable to put in more capital. Secondly you have to consider the crypto coin to invest in, I'll advice for you to start your journey with bitcoin, and if you want multiple investment in cryptocurrency, then the first choice in altcoins should be ethereum. These are the first and second choice in terms of reliable and long lasting cryptos, unlike some new altcoins that can give you more profit on a short term, but they might not last in the market, most dies with investors capital.
1727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Analysts eyeing $3,000 as the next milestone for Ethereum (ETH) on: November 23, 2023, 08:20:49 AM

ETH needs to get another hype to pump the price. Bitcoin halving will come soon. I expect ETH will go up along with bitcoin. The domination of bitcoin is still very big against altcoin.
I see no reason for ETH to be pumped soon.

I think that bitcoin halving and expected ATH afterwards is a big hype for ethereum, because ETH being second to btc, I think that the pump of of btc will affect ETH positively in the coming bull run. Ethereum, on it's own is the topmost altcoin, so I see the possibilities of it hitting $3000, a sure thing, because investors have more trust on it, being the top altcoin to distantly near bitcoin. Aside from bitcoin, the king of crypto, the most trusted and reliable altcoin that I can put my money on is ethereum, so it's only a matter of time before they reach and even surpass their projected ATH
1728  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bad market for businesses wey de accept bitcoin. on: November 23, 2023, 07:17:46 AM
Op wattin you talk no be lie oo, this matter na another problem wey we get like this for this bitcoin network and na very bad market for business men and women wey dey accept bitcoin, due to this current mempol congestion, if you no use high fee your transaction fit just hang for air for like 3 day and nothing don happen, so na very bad time for person wey dey accept bitcoin for transaction be this. I just dey imaging how this issue don cause so many business to collapse, most of our young boy them, dem dey use exchange of bitcoin and other crypto currencies take dey get small small money, that is them dey function as vendors. So now wey this matter don be like this how dem wan take dey do the work dey get their money.

No be lie, apart from business people wey di high transaction fees affect dem acceptance of bitcoin, odas wey de use am do P2p business of crypto to fiat, weda privately or inside exchanges, e affect dem too, because most people go look for alternative means of getting fiat instead of selling dia bitcoin. So anyhow wey you see am, e no favor anybody wey wan sale bitcoin for now, until di mempool decongest.

Di bright side to dis high transaction fees be say e go encourage or mandate some people to continue to de hold dem bitcoin, instead of to sale am. Because as we de hold am, na so e de increase, secondly as we de enter bull run, e no de too advisable to sale now, except di person need money urgently.
1729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges being attacked in the verge of BTC ETF on: November 23, 2023, 06:24:48 AM

2) With Bittrex shutting down, many users are left wondering where they will migrate their activities. Have you made any decisions regarding your future exchange of choice?

2) I have already made a decision and that is to jump from one to other and this is the survival kit that you need to stay longer on this market. Because you'll never know if they're going to be as good as they can be. Remember bittrex was once at the top, so the same can happen to the top exchange stoday.

Now that the reliability and test of time of exchanges are no longer a yardstick to determine whether we will remain with them or not, it's better now to move from one to another if the need arises. Binance leadership changing hands from CZ to Richard Teng, if their visions don't align or Richard, doesn't bring on board a better innovation, then binance, might just go down. Bittrex, a reliable exchange shutting down doesn't speak good of depending on one exchange, remember the issue with FTX, I think it's better for crypto owners to be very informed about the happenings in the exchange of their choice, so they'll know if it's still safe to remain there.

These shakeups in exchanges could be manipulation from governments as is being speculated in some quarters, so they can fully regulate and control the top exchanges. It is still speculations, so the important thing for us is to be vigilant about the exchange that we're using.
1730  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bad market for businesses wey de accept bitcoin. on: November 22, 2023, 05:25:30 PM
So how una reason di matter, na for di businesses to suspend to de collect bitcoin for now, till di congestion clear? For business owners to bear di fees alone, or push am to dem customers? Have in mind say customers fit to say dem no go pay am and di seller go lose di sales wey im for make profit ontop.
The common means of payment is the use of fiat, just like the use of naira for paying for goods and services in Nigeria. I hardly see any business that is accepting bitcoin in Nigeria and I do not think this should be a problem. You can not do what will affect your business, you can still include bitcoin but let customers pay the fee. I am expecting no one to use bitcoin for now for paying for goods and services. Naira is better and which is what that is used.

I no fit dispute or argue di fact say na our local fiat currency wey be naira, na im every business de collect as payment, na our legal tender so we must collect am. Bitcoin na alternative means of payment and na reference I take am make to say businesses wey de accept am de for bad market for di collection now, based on say di transaction fees don skyrocket.
No be only for Nigeria, but everywhere for di world
wey businesses de accept bitcoin, dat one no mean say dem no go fit collect di local currency of dem country, just dat business transactions with bitcoin go reduce drastically, based on di high fees matter.

1731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency restrictions in some countries is a blessing in disguise. on: November 22, 2023, 04:34:45 PM
Despite challenges, countries like Nigeria are witnessing a rapid rise in Bitcoin adoption, showcasing the resilience and appeal of this decentralized financial alternative.

Yes, despite all odds, restrictions and bannes in some bitcoin unfriendly countries, it is still being sort after as a means of financial transaction payments, as a means of self employment in it's trading and as an asset for investment. Bitcoin decentralization makes it possible to transact anywhere in the world, no matter the circumstances, making it's adoption not to have restrictions. Plus it's a profitable store of value, that is marketable anytime, now and in the future. This was why I started this thread, to show that bitcoin is a blessing in disguise in countries were it's not appreciated, because people's curiosity will drive them to want to know and gain knowledge about it, making the adoption to increase in places where it's not supposed to be popular.
1732  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Bad market for businesses wey de accept bitcoin. on: November 22, 2023, 02:51:11 PM
I follow for people wey de advocate for businesses to de collect bitcoin, as payment. I even de encourage my customers dem to de open bitcoin wallet so dem go fit to de do decentralized crypto transactions. I believe say different business people for all over the world go de do di same thing, to grow di adoption of bitcoin, for payment transaction matters.

But as e be now di matter don fall hand, based on say all di preaching for customers to pay with bitcoin, don partially cast for now. Dis congestion of di mempool, wey come make transaction fees to come high like iroko tree so, na big minus for businesses wey de accept bitcoin, as payment. Na from which person account wey dem wan minus di high fees? Na from seller or buyer money? Imaging say you sale market of $66, and you need to pay transaction fee of $14,  dat na approximately 25% of the total money wey you wan take pay di high fee. If you wan use lightening network, di customer wallet need to enable am too, before una go de reason di technicalities, before di transaction proper.

So in short to accept bitcoin for businesses now no de profitable at all, because seller and buyer no go wan bear the cost of the high fees.

1733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So we got new CEO of Binance on: November 22, 2023, 01:34:01 PM
If Richard Teng will be a figurehead CEO or will respond or follow the same policy as CZ, nothing will change as the company will continue with the same policy, but if he decides to do something different, it may directly affect altcoins and less impact on Bitcoin, as it changes inclusion or deletion policies. Currencies or Binance Launchpad will change the prices of altcoins.

As the position of binance CEO falls on Richard Teng, if CZ decides pulling the string of power behind the scene, then the new CEO will be a figurehead as you said. It's quite hard for a business executive to involuntarily vacates his office, and not try to influence his authority from the background, they'll reason that the business is their sweat and won't like for any other person except them to make major decisions. In such situations if the new CEO defies orders from above, that could be the beginning of the end for the company.

Hopefully the transition will go smoothly, where CZ will stay on advisory level, so binance can still maintain it's top level exchange that we know and trust.
1734  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Mining improvement for we countri on: November 22, 2023, 12:32:51 PM

We know say one of d problems wey mining get na e be high electricity cost. And our country Dem no get steady power supply wey miner go really need to take dey active. Even other power source wey be gen or solar still get Dem own wahala and all dis one con dey discourage mining for we country. Dis wan con make d Trojan mining to con say Dem go try partner with other people Dem con create Dem own hydro powered Bitcoin mining plant for we country. This one na better news for us as nija small small dey grow inside the Bitcoin matter. Watin una see about dis innovation, make una chuck mouth put.

Source link: https://news.bitcoin.com/report-bitcoin-mining-project-initiates-construction-of-hydro-powered-facility-in-nigeria/

Dis na a very welcomed development for our country,  because mining de use plenty electricity, so anybody or entity wey wan do di business suppose consider electricity supply. Dem really try to take di bull by di horn, as dem come get dem own personal hydro power plant, dis na real initiative to break the barrier of epileptic power supply wey we de suffer for our country. And as our government no give dem gbege for di matter, na im be say hope de for increased crypto adoption for di country.

I de hopeful say dis dem innovative mining project go de successful, so e go encourage other people to know say bitcoin matter no be play play thing, and dem go key into the di adoption well. We need more of dis kind innovative developments for our country, so people go know say dem no suppose wait for government to do everything for dem.
1735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could this be a trap? on: November 22, 2023, 11:14:07 AM
So, if you want to buy now, then you should do fundamental and technical analysis first and use the funds you are prepared to lose.

You've pretty much summed up what to do in situations of doubts about whether we're walking into a trap with our decision to sale or buy crypto. Applying fundamental and technical analysis, can be a helpful tool to help an investor to analyse the market better, because nobody can give accurate prediction of the outcome of cryptocurrency price.

In the case where an investor is skeptical about price, whether to buy preferred crypto coin or not, then in order to minimize risk, can invest what he can afford to lose. However if after analysing, he feels more confident, can then invest a sustential amount.

1736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: November 22, 2023, 09:11:16 AM
It depends on their reason for gambling, that will determine if they'll continue after consistently loosing. Some people will gamble for fun and it won't matter if they keep loosing, others can be addicts who simply don't know how to stop. So for me it has to be either of these two categories of gamblers, too much money to trow around, not minding whether they win or lose or someone who can't do without betting on something, whether he wins or looses.

Aside from these two categories mentioned, I believe that every other gambler will not be happy if they keep loosing their bets. Even if you're playing for fun and you're not so bothered about winning or losing , you'll still feel lucky and happier to win, and might consider quitting if you continuously keep loosing bets.
1737  Other / Politics & Society / Re: freedom of expression on: November 22, 2023, 07:49:12 AM
There are levels of restrictions of freedom of speech in some parts of the world. If for instance your believe is seen as a taboo in the country that you're resident in, then it's best to make arrangement to leave that country to were your believe is welcomed. If you can not leave the country, then it's better to be on the low key, because I wouldn't advice anybody to get in trouble with the laws of his country of residence, except the person has a strong voice that'll fight for him. So it's better not to be a fool to fight a battle that can not be won, if you don't have a strong backing to protect your rights.
But what if the country is your country of origin and you don't have the funding to foot your possible relocation as you advised,  in such a case what do you expect the person involve to do,  sometime what we call freedom may actually be blown out of proportion by us and at that make things look and sound as if it way to against the citizens in it enterity,  this is because most times,  if you see the abuse of the freedom of speech that is granted to some citizen such as the social media right,  you can see how some forks and bad actors have used that to cause a lot of crisis in the society,  so such are the negative part of too much freedom of left unchecked to or unguided.

If it's your country of origin where you cannot express your freedom of speech, because you have a dictator as leader, if you don't have the resources to leave the country or for legal battles, then it's wisest to remain low key. Because if the authority decides to deal with the person, and he doesn't have a strong backing, it'll be a pity because his rights will further be trampled on. Except the person wants to be brave and face the consequences of going against the authority. Abuse of rights and privileges is to be expected in any society, some out of ignorance or in full knowledge will break the law. In cases like that the law should be judiciously applied to chastise them.
1738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is currently the best crypto to invest in? on: November 22, 2023, 07:07:57 AM
Invest in Bitcoin. It is the best and the safest option to get a good profit. Apart from Bitcoin, you can also try your luck with ETH, BCH, XRP, SOL, LTC, DOGE, etc. All of them are potential coins and will give you a good return on investment once you invest at the right time.

This is straight to the point, bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrencies, it stands alone at the very top, and it's profitability guarantees your return on investment. It is the first crypto currency, and it's standard is a yardstick for other cryptos to follow. Example is it's bull run, when investors are cashing in during the season, it rubs off on other crypto coins to also increase in investment. Same thing when it's in bear run, it also affects other crypto coins negatively. If you want to go for altcoins, then I recommend the top altcoins that you have mentioned, starting with ethereum.

1740  Economy / Economics / Re: this makes a huge impact on the economy. on: November 21, 2023, 05:52:46 PM

Do you also find yourself spending more on you payday?, or you approach your expenses differently?

Financial intelligence is the key, when you have it, then you have structured your income, so any spendings does not happen by accident. Two things that income earners should have is a budget and discipline to see it through.  Every expenditure of the month must fall into the budget and anything that is not in it is can not be spent on. Even if you must give your family a treat on pay day, let it be on the months budget, with it you won't be enticed to spend money unnecessarily. Furthermore you'll escape being in dept.

With budgeting you plan all your expenses, and any expenses that comes after the budget, if it's important, has to be carried over to the next month, unless it's perhaps heath issues.
