The correction from $750 due to the fake China scare appears to be a flag pattern. So I am now thinking we may blast right through that cup handle ~$788 and head towards $900.

The (probably complicit) Bitfinex hack and China fake news are probably the Chinaman loading up his wagon with more cheap BTC from shorting. Now time to let it run (up) before the next shorting smash up manipulation.

All the way to test the ATH before 2017 ?

I doubt we'll get that much acceleration, but let's see what happens.

My intuition would lean rather to a pullback before ATH and a breather before reaching an ATH in 2017. But let's see how my reading of the tea leaves changes between now and then.

Let me add that we need to get past $750 first. That isn't certain yet, although looks likely.

What if I told you we are nearly $5 away from $750 according to finex  Wink

Could we see $1K at least if not the ATH ?

Isn't current volume for all of India like BTC500/day doubt it'll make a dent.

yeah but that was before the rupee news and this little pump. things can escalate quickly. how many indians are now thinking bout buying bitcoin just from the last couple days? the fact that we're up around 20% in the last month will surely help make its appeal very very sexy to newcomers

Plus don't forget about the media and network effects, these two are capable to be game changers.

If bitcoin will go up to $800 then we could see a new all time high in my opinion. We have to cross and destroy the latest 2016 ATH to be ready for the moon take off.
A lot of new money is flowing into btc and this means only one thing, that the way is up.
Christmas gifts are just around the corner

>$830 --- 6 Noviembre

If I can correctly recall, you my friend have nailed it more than once regarding the price.

Most probably you or someone else had an "insider" source or something, whatever, you've a BIG fan here Smiley

Hobular trading arriving at the magic 5000 CNY which is entering 2013 territory.

Then we're looking for 5180 for SRB ignition.

When I see you post Toknormal, it makes me euphoric.

Simply, rest assured that we are doing well Smiley

Could you please tell me please what SRB please Cheesy, I know why you care for 5180 CNY but I don't know what you mean by SBR.

THE RALLY CONTINUES !!!!!!!!!!

So I'm sure the technical aspects of Zero Cash are fascinating.  That said, it also suffers from an overdose of your typical alt-coin hype.

Coindesk has a financial interest in this (which they disclose at the bottom of the article):
http://www.coindesk.com/investors-going-crazy-new-digital-currency-called-zcash/

My general advice on alt-coins, really without exception, is to stay away.

Is Bitcoin going up because of Segregated Witness?  I'm thinking I should buy more once there is the next round of developer drama.

Most probably it will go up brother once SegWit is locked-in.
1733  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 26, 2016, 02:52:50 PM
Not to jinx it but if we get past $778 we will see what we did in 2013.

Are the odds in our side brother ?
1734  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 26, 2016, 01:30:54 AM
The market seems to be digging itself out of the hole now though.

Could you kindly elaborate more ?

And tell me your outlook please for the coming weekend, is really the rally QUENCHED or there is still a chance ?

Edit : Is the rally continuing ?

I understand, Fakhoury, that you are  not asking me, but I CANT RESIST....

You know, having a purpose such as one to "quench rallies" and actually achieving such purpose, can be two separate things.

And, surely the evidence of decent upwards price pressures is continuing to show its cute lillie noggen...

In other words, we seems to have gots ourselves decent upwards price momentum that is not going to easily by quenched...

Surely, we are still operating on very low trade volume (and who gives a shit what you see in china and some of those other fake, no fee, bot exchanges), the fact of the matter is that BTC trade volume seems to be continuing as relatively low.... and so, when we have low trade volume, we can have a reversal of the direction at any time, even though it is kind of appearing that bears are losing a bit of control over the continuing and ongoing upward trend... .. they may have to wait until into the $700s or so before they are able to adequately and sufficiently reverse the current momentum and the upward price pressures that seems to be under this thing.. and also it is possible that they are not going to be able to do it, even into the $800s, crossing my fingers.. and if we get into the $800s quickly, then surely they are going to have some loss of control issues.

Take easy JJG, we are brothers man Cheesy

The thing is I want to break $1K+ this year, I'm fedup man lol Cheesy

And it seems Toknormal is ignoring me Cheesy

Wow. That was some mega dump.

It all came back out in seconds flat. 8000 BTC = $5.2 Million dump in 1 minute ?

You don't do that to maximise gain. You do it to quench rallies.

Or to continue "hoarding" or I'm mistaken ?

What is the sole purpose then ? Punishing the bulls ?

Kindly tell me your very short term outlook, Toknormal as I was extremely happy with the breakout.
1737  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 24, 2016, 02:20:41 AM

The 1-week Bitcoin/$USD chart correction is nearing completion. That chart range started correcting around the end of July when the big dump-down from the 5180 Hobular high occured.

That correction also painted the handle onto the humungous 3-year cup and handle formation thats been forming since the 2013 China-driven $1200 ATH.

The timing of events seems to be pointing to a perfect storm towards the end of the year, possibly consisting of Lightning Network arrival, Segwit, BTC Developer & mining consensus putting previous confrontations to bed and an array of chart technicals going green. Things would then be in place for the Wrinklyboss ETF to turn up and light the touchpaper on the tinder pile.

My dear friend, Toknormal, do you see a possibility in passing the ATH or even $1K mark before the new year's eve ?

Thanks for your input, could you please tell me more (from your word/expreience) what is -salvagewallet and what does it do ?

Thank you Smiley
-salvagewallet does exactly what the name suggests, it attempt to salvage a corrupted wallet. That means that Bitcoin Core will try to read the wallet and recover as many keys as it can from that wallet.

I didn't forget to thank you achow101, and I wanted to PM you to thank you so much because you've always been there for ME exactly whenever I need any help with Core.

I'm sorry if my thanks came late, but I never forgot it.

Thank you so much my friend and from the bottom of my heart, I wish you all the best.

I will leave the thread open for you if you wish to reply or to lock it, the issue is solved as I've had a good copy of the chain, I've used it and it synced well and everything went well Smiley
1739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [Problem] Error at shutdown, check the debug.log file on: October 21, 2016, 12:46:32 AM
Looks a lot like the problem in this thread On second read, no it's not that similar. I'd try reindexing first and see if it works (start core with -reindex), if not then it's a hardware problem.

No other solution beside re-indexing ?

If your problem is corrupted blocks then reindex or deleting all the corrupted block files and redownloading them are the only solutions. If it's a hardisk problem then you have to move them to other hardisk.
If it's a wallet.dat corruption (found that here) then run core with -salvagewallet.

Thanks for your input, could you please tell me more (from your word/expreience) what is -salvagewallet and what does it do ?

Thank you Smiley
