1721  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: February 25, 2023, 06:46:05 AM

Do you mean Stake actually having their own mining operations or paying some large miners or pools to give priority to the outgoing transactions of their clients? That would be quite awesome and beyond premium.

If they actually do or someday do it, they should include it as part of their advertisement, as the only online casino that priorities their gambler's withdrawals that way.  Though, I am not sure how profitable it would be for them.

I think it will be more profitable for them to subsidize the miners fees to make it more attractive for the miners to prioritize it... than actually funding a massive mining operation and paying people to run it.  Roll Eyes

Imagine if they just drop the deadbeat soccer teams from their sponsorship list and push that money back into the "gaming experience" of their operation.  Wink Cheesy
1722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin [eventually] collapse? (scholar’s opinion) on: February 25, 2023, 06:36:15 AM
You looked for the wrong crowd on this forum to tell everyone that Bitcoin is useless in it's current form.  Roll Eyes  I see what you are saying and I agree that Bitcoin needs more use cases and applications to expand it's capabilities, but forking Bitcoin to do that is the wrong way to go... we saw what happened with the BCash wars.  Roll Eyes

I think the side-chain developments are enough for now.... but on-chain solutions should still be developed to increase on-chain transactions. As for Bitcoin being used as a currency, well that is being sabotaged by many governments.... not by the technology it self.  Tongue
1723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting fraud in Brazil 😦 on: February 24, 2023, 06:35:57 AM
This does not just happen in the Series B matches..... there was a massive scandal in the FIFA World Cup 2022 when Qatar was accused of bribing Ecuador players 7.4 million dollars to lose opening match.  Roll Eyes

I stopped watching Cricket for many years when it came out that one of my favorite Cricket players (Hansie Cronje) were involved in match fixing in a game against India. (So when this are revealed, it does harm to the Sport and the people betting on it)  Angry Angry Angry

I hope more players are banned from the Sport, when they are caught doing this and the people who bribe them, has to go to prison.
1724  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: February 24, 2023, 06:24:53 AM
Another entertainment from Stake player , Roshtein managed to get a big win in the regular spins not buy spins
Bet $1500 win $2.3million more than 1500x multiplier  no need to argue whether it is the real balance or  sponsor balance
but if you want to get part of that big win please check the tweet https://twitter.com/ROSHTEINS/status/1628861183506673667

Sorry Dewi, but I do not see the need why we should celebrate these paid streamers wins.  Roll Eyes They use the casino's money to sweep all the most played games and then people think it is a huge accomplishment.

I have more respect for the people who risk their own money to gamble and share in their excitement when it happens. The paid streamers are eating the cream and the rest of us are fighting over the crumbs on the floor.

Yes, it is a great marketing strategy, because people like to see huge wins, but it's fake.... and the majority of the people that join as a result of that, will never see those kinds of wins. (because they cannot bet $5000 per spin and leave it for 3000 bets until it pay out)  Roll Eyes
1725  Economy / Economics / Re: How rich would I be? on: February 24, 2023, 05:52:30 AM
You do not have to wait for the last Bitcoin to be mined to be rich.... it can happen at any time. People who bought bitcoins in the early days when it was only a few cents are very rich today (well some of them) .... so you can also be like them, if you buy now.

The Bitcoin price might be $25 000 today, but something might happen that send the Bitcoin price to $100 000 or even $1 000 000 ...and if you bought at $25 000 ..you will be a very rich person.

I bought when the Bitcoin price was between $300 and $400 ..... but I sold some at $1000 and then again at $18 000 and again at $50 000 .... so I made very good profits on my initial coins.  Wink
1726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how do I keep my private key safe? on: February 24, 2023, 05:40:37 AM
I would slap that person who suggested that, because email web access is definitely not even an option to secure your Private keys.

You should get a computer and printer that will never connect to the Internet again and then print your Private keys. (several copies) ... then you have to laminate them to protect them from the elements (water & heat) and then you have to hide them in two or three separate geographical locations.

This is crucial, because we saw what happened in Turkey with the earthquake .....almost all the structures were destroyed.  Roll Eyes

1727  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Do You Feel Less Safe? on: February 24, 2023, 05:31:18 AM
Well, imagine how every other person in this world will feel, if that happens.. because all the security in the Fiat financial world are built around 128 bits entropy... for example : Banks / Secure websites etc.

I know this was an issue since the early days of Bitcoin, but it has been debated and pulled apart from all angles. Most people seem to think a stronger entropy will be implemented and your tokens will once again be safe. (with it's own issues)  Roll Eyes
1728  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: February 23, 2023, 06:50:22 AM
OP, you are talking about the people in the middle income range and many of those people are living a "wannebe" lifestyle, where they stay in houses that are beyond their income and they are driving cars that are also above their living income.

Yes, it is the small jackals that are causing most of the trouble, but it is the big elephants like expensive cars and houses that are killing most of the people's budgets. (My advice : Stop competing with the Joneses and live according to your income)  Wink
1729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going to make mma predictions blog (for gamblers) on: February 23, 2023, 06:25:54 AM
I like the idea, but it must not just be built around gambler statistics, because people need a comment section to see why that gambler is predicting that outcome for the fight.  Wink

I think the discussion are key to the prediction and it will also indicate the level of knowledge that the gambler has about the Sport. So the statistics will not just reflect the "luck" that are involved, but also the skills behind it.  Wink
1730  Economy / Gambling / Re: Diamond 5 Stake, account was hacked on: February 23, 2023, 06:15:23 AM
Stake just enabled email code for tipping, I guess your thread has made some change already, which is good.
I am sorry for your loss. Make sure to change all passwords and change wallets, they maybe targeted something else too.

Well, I hope my suggestion on this thread helped Stake to implement this email code idea for tipping and that it will help to prevent incidents like this in the future.  Roll Eyes

I know this will not help you now, because you already lost $60 000 .... but it is a step in the right direction to help others not to lose money through the tipping service.
1731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good to accept crypto as a payment? on: February 23, 2023, 05:39:55 AM
I do not have a business, but I make sure that I support the businesses that does accept it. This is very important, because if the consumers does not do that. these businesses will stop accepting Bitcoin as a payment option.

So for this reason I have accepted that my company can pay me a small percentage of my salary in Bitcoin and I take that are spend it on food at local merchants that accepts Bitcoin as payment option.  Wink
1732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FIX THE MONEY - FIX THE WORLD #Bitcoin on: February 23, 2023, 05:35:09 AM
It should actually say... "Fix the governments and then fix the money" ...because governments are at the core of the problem with money. They are the main cause of inflation and hyper inflation, due to poor economic policies and bad implementation of these policies.  Angry

You cannot manipulate economic statistics to suit your political agendas, so that you look good for international investors and for your voters. It is all about power and retaining that power at the cost of your economic prosperity.  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin cannot solve that.... but it can serve as an alternative when it fails. (Example : Zimbabwe / Greece ...Cyprus)
1733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: show us your stadium visit ⚽🏈🏀🏉⚾🏏🏐🏎 on: February 22, 2023, 06:10:34 AM
I think most people on this forum might not want to participate in this, because it might be used to dox them. The brilliant aspect of this forum are people's pseudo anonymity and their freedom to talk without having any reservations that they would be targeted in their personal capacity.

So, you might need to change the approach to this request... and say that people can add any picture of a stadium, without posting pictures of themselves.  Wink
1734  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sherbet.com 🍭 - New Social Casino & Sportsbook - PVP - $500 Deposit Bonus 🤑 on: February 22, 2023, 06:02:44 AM
Hi there, welcome to bitcointalk.
I just appreciate the color design of purple. It was only a few times that I'd seen a design like this before. And just like most of the casinos, you're only going to ask KYC if it's necessary. Wait a minute, is sherbet like an ice cream dessert, right?

Sherbet is a dessert, yes!

Well, actually ... "Sherbet" are candy in many countries. Sherbet is a fizzy powder candy, usually eaten by dipping a lollipop or liquorice, or licking it on a finger. Source : https://the-candy-encyclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Sherbet

In Britain, sherbet is a sweet powder used to make a drink bubbly or eaten by itself. Source : https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/sherbet-vs-sherbert

Now, if you live in the USA... it is a refreshing dessert made of frozen sweetened water with (usually fruit) flavoring. People from the UK prefer to call it 'sorbet', Americans prefer 'sherbet'. Both of these are borrowed words but they mean the same thing.

So, I see the name as a mix between ... "Sure bet" and something sweet and fun ==> "Sherbet"  Grin Grin Grin
1735  Economy / Economics / Re: Are people really having the wrong concept of savings? on: February 22, 2023, 05:47:24 AM
Your savings should be goal driven in my opinion...

You can for example say that you are putting $250 a month aside so that you can have a nice holiday at the end of the year... OR you can save $200 a month for "car repairs & tyres" ..... so you basically save to pay for things that you cannot pay for in one month.

Some people have long-term savings for their retirement ..and other people have short-term savings for more expensive goals that they have to save for every month.  Wink
1736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real-World Use Cases for Bitcoin in Agriculture? on: February 22, 2023, 05:39:13 AM
I recently watched a documentary where someone incorporated the Blockchain into the supply of chickens to a supermarket. So you can scan a QR code on the packaging of the chicken and it will redirect you to the Blockchain with all the information you need to determine where the farm is where the chicken were grown and relevant information linked to that specific chicken.

People (customers) wants to know more about their food.... they want to make sure that if the packaging says "free range" ..that it is actually from a free range farm... etc.. etc.  Wink
1737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of holding Bitcoin in time of crisis on: February 22, 2023, 05:26:29 AM
Yes, Bitcoin can be an alternative payment option when other traditional payment systems fail, but it also needs access to electricity and the Internet... things that are not currently available in many countries.

Also, when the global economy take a massive hit, Bitcoin is seen by some as a Store of Value, but I disagree with many of them. The reason is simply, if the global economy is struggling, people shift more of their money towards "survival" and not towards risky investment options like Bitcoin.  Roll Eyes
1738  Economy / Gambling / Re: Diamond 5 Stake, account was hacked on: February 21, 2023, 05:58:01 AM
I agree,

There should be more checks and balances on accounts with your VIP level, to make sure that things like this does not happen in the future. A red flag should be raised, when a certain amount of money are tipped or withdrawn from your account... and then extra measures should be in place to prevent it.

Example : You provide them with a code word... say "Freebies4Ever" .... and this code word is kept with support. If you give a large tip (x percentage of your balance) ..it will trigger the customer support to contact you to ask for the code word. If it cannot be provided, they block the account and they contact you.  Wink

I hope this helps you.... sorry for your loss.  Sad   (I am not at your level, but I will be pissed if it happened to me and there were no extra measures to protect me)  Roll Eyes
1739  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano hardware wallet Phishing email about KYC out there on: February 21, 2023, 05:45:06 AM
Seems like one of the worst attempts I have seen so far since the Ledger data leak fiasco. Have the low-life degenerates really written the date as February, Monday 20 2023?
It's interesting that they are only looking for KYC data. Unless the address you are redirected to wants you to enter your seed as well.
If they are professionals, they will ask you to update the firmware, and then, after a few days, your wallet will be empty, but it seems that their intelligence is less than trying to write something like this, so the easy solution is to enter your seed.

@OP Is this a random email or did you recently buy Ledger Nano hardware?

Well, I have several hardware wallets ...some bought a few years ago and some more recently, so it is difficult to say. In any way, I do not fall for crap like this, but I wanted to warn other people.. that might be a bit more gullible.  Wink

The firmware upgrade thing is a tender subject, because it is a nightmare ... or rather it was a nightmare to upgrade the firmware for the Ledger Nano ..the last time I did it.   Roll Eyes
1740  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recommend your preffered slot games or game provider on: February 21, 2023, 05:34:24 AM
Well, to give you the best answer... people should first know if gambling is allowed in your country.... because a lot of slot providers block certain countries from playing their games.

There are not a lot of difference between all the slot providers... apart from graphics and game play... and also what RTP options they offer the casino.

A lot of the games from Hacksaw gaming have a very high variance, so your probability to win often is much lower ..but your change to win something huge is much bigger.  Wink
