17221  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S2 Underclock on: October 13, 2015, 11:36:11 PM
Not sure if the S2 has been done, but a lot of people have done the "Pencil Mod" on the S1, as is said above you have a 40 resistors to modify so a big job. If you search on S1 & pencil Mod you will find plenty of information.

Rich

I did but the layout is slightly different and there is no schematic online.

17222  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you agree people barrow money for gambling? on: October 13, 2015, 07:22:40 PM
Its doesn't matter if its for purchasing stocks or for gambling. The problem is both are high risk and the chance of losing the money is very high so you would have to be very stupid to loan someone money for that.
17223  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: October 13, 2015, 07:21:53 PM
anyone having a primedice bot ?

Go to google and type in Seuntjies DiceBot or something like that. Its probably one of the best 3rd party autobots out there, it also supports many different websites.
17224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the future of online gambling? on: October 13, 2015, 07:19:00 PM
I think one of the reasons why its more popular is because its anonymous and most likely alot of kids are starting to gamble because its impossible to prove age.
17225  Economy / Gambling / Re: VOTE! What is the best bet size for you? on: October 13, 2015, 07:14:08 PM
I agree with the bets not being too large because it might scare away many people but if the bets are too low then it willl massively lag the servers, kind of what is happening on PrimeDice.
17226  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S2 Underclock on: October 13, 2015, 12:14:39 PM
Just wondering if anyone has tried here to undervolt/underclock their S2 yet?
17227  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you have a favorite casino? on: October 13, 2015, 09:37:00 AM

17228  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Complete Bitcoin mine 260TH/s KNC Neptune on: October 12, 2015, 07:01:38 AM
allinvain - just got off the phone with a shipping company, i got a quote just for the 84 neptunes and 168 power supplies (i am thinking i will sell everything else locally) the shipping is broken into two parts 476 Aud to get it from my shed to the port and into a container and 643 Usd from Melbourne to Vancouver estimated time 30 days delivery, all freight goes through Vancouver, the price to Montreal is +240 Usd and +6 days , Toronto is also +240 Usd +6 days. Talking to the guy on the phone the easiest way to do it is from my side to pay to get it to the port and then the other party does the rest import duty, shipping to final destination etc.

Montreal would be ideal. We have a shipping address in Montreal so that works out perfect. From there we can drive the gear to Labrador or we'll see how much it would cost to put it on a truck and ship it to Labrador. As I said in my PM I would advise against shipping the PSUs but it's up to you in the end. My partner can take care of the importing and such.

Another thing, make sure you or whoever does the packaging does a good job of adding some protection or padding between the cubes so they don't get banged around too much as the heatsinks can come off during transit or something may snap off.

Also in relation to your PSUs, if you don't have PCIE splitters for them I would highly advise against using them as they are a fire and safety hazard. Most of the consumer grade PSUs use 18 AWG PCIE cables which are not suitable for the kind of power a Neptune cube draws. They will eventually melt. We've had it happen before.

So are you buying the entire lot?
17229  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Complete Bitcoin mine 260TH/s KNC Neptune on: October 12, 2015, 01:52:25 AM
I will arrange my shipping, you pack . escrow with nasty is cool. My offer 100btc. PM me if you wanna deal

that's a pretty high offer. I guess its sold then.
17230  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Underclocking & undervolting vs efficiency and hashrate on: October 12, 2015, 12:21:47 AM
The S2 you can't undervolt. You can underclock but your power efficiency rate is fixed at 1W/1GHS.

You can have it run at full speed at 1Th/s for 1000W or 500Gh/s for 500W.

17231  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Complete Bitcoin mine 260TH/s KNC Neptune on: October 11, 2015, 11:29:54 PM
I was just putting some numbers into usps and fedex the cost of shipping via air is 400 / Neptune which is just ludicrous. shipping containers are much more reasonable (a few thousand for the lot) but will take a month or two to arrive

Yeah your best bet is to just sell them locally. You live on an island and shipping is never going to be cheap.

17232  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB Oldest Mining Hardware on: October 11, 2015, 11:14:53 PM
I have a Intel Pentium 4 CPU, which was used to mine bitcoins in 2009*, (I think this kinda cpu is the oldest mining hardware) and you can find it on amazon or ebay just for couple of bucks.

Ps: I wasn't mining back then but my computer did, I had a virus called "minerd.exe"** which used my cpu 100%, (I had to reinstall Windows XP, whenever it infected me).

** Yes I know it's not a virus right now Grin

Those Intel Pentium 4 were probably the worse CPUs that Intel ever made. I remember they always ran hot and the fans were always screaming.

17233  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Complete Bitcoin mine 260TH/s KNC Neptune on: October 11, 2015, 11:12:42 PM
Have you thought about hosting them somewhere else? I have a place for them if you'd like. Shipping to Canada may be a bit tricky but for that much hashing power you should be able to recoup the cost.

Now on a different note if I was to say make a bid for these I'd be wondering if you'd be willing to sell just the first 40 units. I have a hunch these are batch 1 (original) Neptunes which is my opinion are better. When I got my compensation units I had nothing but problems with them. Compensation Neptunes are pulled from KNC's mining farms so they were heavily used and abused.

If you are interested we can get a group buy kind of deal. As I am in Canada also and would like some of his equipment.

Sure, that may work out. Also, if you want you can host it with me (see link in my signature). I am trying to get a bunch of S5s now but if I have some funds left over I'm definitely looking to grab some of his batch 1 units. If you know anyone else that wants to get in on a group buy arrangement feel free to let them in on it, and like I said if you all want them hosted with me I have the cheapest $/1kw price around.

I actually have free electricity so I don't need anything hosting. Just looking for the cheapest, fastest miners out there.

The only problem with this deal might be the shipping cost from Australia. It won't be cheap for sure.
17234  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2x S3+ on: October 11, 2015, 11:10:59 PM
I purchased mine for like $60 USD about 9 months ago. So yes $100 USD plus shipping is crazy talk.

17235  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need S5 and S4 and S3 Hashboards Schematics on: October 11, 2015, 11:09:21 PM
Pretty sure its next to impossible to get the schematics. You will have to reverse-engineer the components and structure.
17236  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is it worth mining? on: October 11, 2015, 10:34:00 PM
I have free electricity and have been thru this debate many many times,

If you buy expensive newer miners then it will take longer to reach ROI but you can host more of them since the available power is capped. The ROI on the S7 is like 8 months or so.

If you buy older and cheaper miners you have a shorter time of getting ROI but you won't make alot of money. The ROI on the S3 is like 2-3 months or so.

The more into the future you go, the higher the uncertainly. Price of BTC and Difficulty is easier to predict in 3 months then in 8 months.

So you need to find a balance in between.

Personally I wouldn't buy the S5 or SP20, they are overpriced at the moment. Get the S2, S3, Dragon Miners, KNC Jupiters, etc.

You will make the same amount of money in 6 months with an S3 as you will with an S5 but the S3 is 1/4 cheaper.

I only made money with my miners because I profited off somebody else's loss. I only bought miners which were no longer profittable due to electricity cost or I bought them because the price of BTC was crashing and Difficulty was skyrocketing and the sellers panicked and sold to me.

Only way to make money in this business. Its a zero sum game pretty much. You're gains will be somebody else's loss.

That's why I wouldn't buy an S7, because our loss will be their gain.
17237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: October 11, 2015, 10:24:49 PM
gambling will not make you rich forever. here you will learn to keep your money. allocate your money and return to gambling when you are short of money. Cheesy
You are completely wrong here. You are not gambling when you are short of money, never.
You only gamle with excessive of your money, when you actually have money you can lose, without jeopardizing your financial situation further.

I think you are 100% wrong. There are plenty of people who barrow money for gambling. When people do not have money then they look all kinds of short cuts to make money.
Lets be realistic. If you borrow money to gamble more when you just lost everything - you are already doomed, you are fucked up beyond belief.
You are so tilted, biased and susceptible to gambler's fallacy that your chances of winning are slim. This is real world, there are no shortcuts.

Yes I completely agree. You should NEVER EVER borrow money especially to gamble or for any high risk investements

I find it odd how you are asking for ancient dinosaur equipment and you want it to be in brand new condition.

I am surprised there are like 3 threads in the gambling section on this topic. Each one pretty much is saying the same thing.

Yes you can have a slightly higher probability however the more and more bets you take, the edge will be higher and higher against you and cause you to start losing money.
