However, it should be noted that Wolverhampton can also secretly snatch the 4th position because Wolverhampton also still has a gap of 2 matches that he has not finished.

Yeah, Wolves, Arsenal and Spurs are the teams very likely for the race in top 4. Given the performances I would say it would be tough race between Arsenal and Wolves. Spurs are already struggling right now but they have world class players who can turn their team's performance. Honestly its very congested in for top 4 and anyone from Man United to Spurs in current table can get that spot.

Norwich match certainly exists and will make Liverpool also remain cautious. Even though they are a strong club Liverpool doesn't think their opponents are weak, they always give their best. So I still remain positive that Liverpool will win the game. Norwich is 18th in the standings.

There's always a chance and in this case I won't deny Norwich doesn't have any chances at all. If they play like they played against City then they have good chance of surprising City in the next game. Still I think Liverpool have good chances and they are good in making pressure from wings unlike City.

Quote
So even so, they will still provide pretty good resistance.

Yeah they will, but what's the point if they give in at one point. Its just one goal that is needed to steal 3 points.

I think this was a really realistic result for this kind of match and how both teams played. I think still that Barcelona will need to do a lot more in Italy. Napoli also played some good football, while Barcelona is still trying to put all the new players togheter. Its hard to get fresh new players to play as a team in the first few months.

Napoli's performance in Seire A is remarkable. They are fighting for the title now. However, I did not like their performance against Barcelona at all. Barcelona's defense is not very strong. Even then Napoli played completely defensive in this match. Barcelona are improving themselves and consistently trying to play well. If they can maintain this continuity, then Barcelona will win the away match.

It was never that easy for Barca before the match to begin with. Napoli are tough opponents and they are one of the title contenders of Serie A, it wasn't easy for Barcelona who just are picking themselves up from struggling stage. They still played good dominating game and given the size of Napoli they really did well by not allowing not many chances. Second leg will be even more interesting.

In Mbappe case, I think money is not the main factor in his desire to move, if mbappe wants a lot of money I think PSG will certainly be able to fulfill his wish, because some time ago PSG have offered a new contract to Mbappe with the option of a salary increase quite big, but in fact he prefers not to sign that the contract, I think fulfilling a childhood dream might make Mbappe happier than getting a big salary at this time.

Its more about dream than money, he is still young and maybe he has certain goals which he wants to achieve at Madrid. PSG also should think about its player's happiness and should let him go if he desires. Despite the repetitive attempts of providing contract extension from PSG, one might get annoyed and certainly start to affect his morale but Mbappe still respects the club. There are certain things I don't like about PSG and this is one of them.

Mainz - Bayer

Today Mainz hosts Bayer, I don't know what motivation the teams have for this match. I'm not sure that Mainz will be able to compete for the European Cup zone, but Bayer will not get anything more than the Champions League zone this season. Bayer is in good shape and scores a lot of goals, I think Bayer's individual total over 2 can be considered as an option.

Should definitely be Bayer show as they have been excellent putting pressure on the defence and scoring goals. Link up and goal chances are good so unless Mainz don't have a strong defence plan, I don't think they will be able to contain Bayer's attack. They still might have a chance if they also keep on scoring goals and keep the score tied. I would say safe is to go for both teams to score on this one.

Xavi brings Traore, Torres and Aubameyang to the club from the winter transfer. By now, Traore and Torres play well and only Aubameyang need more time to prove that he deserves to be there.

Aubameyang have been struggling with his form for sometime now. It was same in Arsenal when Gunners desperately needed someone to score in matches. Age could be an excuse for his performance but I still think he is a great winger and his pace can definitely terrify opponents defense. I just sometimes wonder what if Xavi had Aubameyang with his old pace on the left and Traore on the right? Not sure when he will be back on form but glad that he made a move to a good team after Arsenal.

Norwich is not an opponent that threatens Liverpool

I agree with a defensive play that Norwich's best solution not to lose to Liverpool but it's not guaranteed either, because we know Liverpool's players are unforgiving, especially now that they are trying to minimize the points behind with Man City

I will say that Norwich have been playing well lately. They have been horrible in major part of this season but now they are showing some good signs of fight back but I still think Liverpool are far superior to them in terms of squad and mentality and are high favourites to win this one.

West Ham vs Newcastle should be fun to watch too. Newcastle are also another team showing signs of improvement. They still lack in certain areas but so far a good start for them.
1748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 17, 2022, 08:15:20 PM
I expect more from Juventus now on. Their transfers were really the right choices. Especially Dusan Vlahovic is a great striker and he scored a goal even in his first match with his new team. And he is a very promising player. He would contribute to Juventus a lot. From now on, my lowest expectation from them is to finish the season at the fourth position and qualify for the Champions League group stage. They shouldn't let Atalanta have that chance. They can be a more consistent team than Atalanta now.

The gap of points after Juventus is very close so it's a tough competition for the 4th spot. With 13 games still to be played and considering the form of team around Juventus I think Juventus should be able to make into top 4 . The starting stages were the ones that didn't went the way Juventus would have wanted but I think they are doing great right now.  Manager also seems to be making right choices and that is what is needed. If they continue like this then they will be in the comfortable zone for the fourth spot or maybe...even better finish this Serie A.

I also didn't knew much before City bought him and quite an year for Alvarez. Representing Argentina at a young age and also City buying him is really something. He is a wonderkid and under Pep he is gonna have wonderful career. City needs a striker, and Alvarez is a good signing which will prove to be fruitful in future.

I remembered vividly Brentford vs Arsenal was this season match 1, which the visitors lost by 2-0, and the host won convincingly, a pay back time for Arsenal who are also eyeing top 4 UCL spot, a big opportunity for them to consolidate their position on the EPL table, however Brentford are not pushover though they lost to Man Utd in midweek by 2-0 they equally has some glaring scoring against Man Utd but were unlucky until their player was sent off, recall they also played 3-3 with Liverpool, I believe it going to be tough match if experience player like Eriksen is included in their first eleven team.

Not every team is consistent. Brentford however have struggled to find their form back ever since their goalkeeper Raya left while Arsenal have been on a good form ever since we brought in some defenders. Brentford are still unexpected but without their best goalkeeper they look vulnerable. I think Arsenal will be out there and punish them hard. The Arsenal then and the Arsenal now ...lot of difference...

The match between Leicester and West ham is about to start but here is something that is quite interesting because their odds are quite large and very good for bettors.
currently Leicester 2.85 and West Ham 2.50. Broadly speaking, these two clubs are quite balanced if you look at the depth of their squad, but in terms of appearance, I think Westham is actually very favored now, especially with the poor results Leicester have received in the last few games.
I personally will be by Westham's side in this game even if it's their away game but I think Westham will win this game

There we go... first goal already from West Ham and scored by Jarrod Bowen. He has been the one who have been firing some serious amount of goals while their frontman Michail Antonio is on goal drought. I still wouldn't rule Leicester out yet, they also have quite some players and capable of making a comeback. Well there is lot of time remaining and I think Leicester will answer with an equaliser here.
things are turning around now Cheesy
I seem to be about to lose my bet now. It was actually quite good with the quick goal but indeed the confinement of the Leicester players made the West ham players unable to develop the game.
The game will soon be over and if this position persists it will be very bad for Westham I think because indeed their position is still not safe at the moment in the position table

West Ham has found another equalise and this time it's Craig Dawson assisted by Jarrod Bowen. Not surprised to see that a non regular scoring a goal but anyway good job done finding an equaliser in the dying stages of the match. Still this game was far away from both teams top form.
1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: February 13, 2022, 06:22:02 PM
It seems that many clubs below are benefiting when they see the performance of Real Madrid, which has lost a lot of points. Losing 10 points is a very worrying thing for Madrid. If they don't want to continue to be eroded, they must make improvements. Barcelona itself began to stick out and get up to fix things that were left behind. There is Sevilla who is stable in terms of formation, besides being consistent, Sevilla is more advantaged this time and continues to reduce the difference with Madrid. IMO, this competition will be more fun to watch.

True that Real Madrid has lost lot of points but it is also true that other teams are losing points too. All three teams Atletico, Barca and Real Madrid have been out of form, but Real Madrid were able to get back into track again. If Real Madrid lose more points then definitely this will make things interesting for sure.

West Ham vs Leicester 1-1

The game is quite balanced and shows the seriousness of each other who still wants to win. I think West Ham are still opening the gap to make their second goal. Jarrod started the goal and that should be motivation for the other players to give Antonio more space so he doesn't feel cursed after so long without a goal. West Ham should qualify and move away from Arsenal, but there is no need to worry about being chased by Man United as they will not threaten at all.

As I thought Leicester would answer with an equaliser. They are usually a team who are capable of making a comeback. Scoreline stands 2-1 now for Leicester and I don't think the outcome will be any different now. With West Ham lacking proper goalscorers , I don't think they will find any points here today now.

Barcelona can also compete for gold medals this year. Sevilla, Betis are not rivals for Barcelona and the Catalans can easily get around them in the standings. Real Madrid is now in decline and losing points. The difference between the teams is large, but not critical.

Barcelona have 2 games in hand so at best they can reduce the gap to 10 points between them and Real Madrid so yeah they still can do it now that I look again at the table. Real Madrid drops 10 points and they still are in game but also Barca has to maintain a flawless run and this is what makes it difficult.

In today's Barcelona derby, I bet the visitors to win. In Barcelona's game you can see coach Xavi's idea for this team. The new players also gave a positive boost to the entire club. Espanyol is in a bad shape lately, but they will certainly be mobilized for the match with the more titled neighbor. It will definitely be a very tight match, but I believe that the individual skills of FC Barcelona players will determine the victory.

They are heavy favorite for multiple reason. Espanyol concede too many goals, in their last five games they always conceded at least two goals. Considering Barcelona's attacking power we may see another match like this. Barca's defense is going better against lower rank teams, I don't think they would concede two goals from Espanyol. So when Barca score two goals that would secure win for them. Barca would win this game with their youngsters, I'll take that over 1.51 odds.

I think with new signings Barca now is better in attack. Pace of Traore in wing is something that was too much to handle for Atletico in last game and I think same will happen here. I think Torres and Traore will be score sheet tonight, both haven't opened their goals account in Barca ever since they came in. Xavi is really leading the team nicely. Not sure about this season but next season if they play like this the will be surely in title race next season.

Very exciting match,, Napoli has a really good chance of winning this season's league title as they have claimed the second spot and are only one point behind Inter.
But the problem is inter has played one less match and that gives them a certain amount of advantage. I think if Napoli can play the way they are playing right now they will surely be able to win the title but Inter has to lose one match.

This one was crucial for Napoli as the 3 points would have made the gap down to 1-2 points but they are still in comfortable seat in title race.  AC Milan is also another team who are in the race as well with 24 matches played. Inter don't have matches with any of these two teams in the remainder of the season but still there some fixtures where they could drop points. I still think Inter would lift Serie A trophy this season.

Grin With such results, United should not be thinking about winning the Champions League, but about how not to lose at least Atlético (which are also in deep crisis). It became quite obvious to me that United had no chance of finishing 4th and that at best they would play in the Europa League next season.
They might achieve something in EL I assume comparing to humiliating themselves in CL vs a random team like they did in FA Cup...
A team like United should compete City in papers when you see the quality of players there but in real life their fans are getting a shock after a shock..

Actually Atletico are also not in best shape either but still they are far better than the United right now. Although I still think the game would close. Ronaldo facing Atletico again and that reminds me of last time when Ronaldo scored hat-trick against Atletico in second leg to help Juventus advance to the next stage. So as long as the beast is there , it's hard to say.

Transfer rumours:

Mauricio Pochettino wants Manchester United to sign England captain Harry Kane, 28, from Tottenham, should the Argentine leave Paris St-Germain to become the club's next manager. This is an old story already seen, everyone wants Kane but no one can get him  Grin
Manchester United's players are frustrated with interim manager Ralf Rangnick's training methods, which they believe are "old fashioned". Will Manchester United change coach again, even before the end of the season?
Gareth Bale has signed a pre-agreement to rejoin Tottenham from Real Madrid this summer. The 32-year-old Welsh winger is out of contract at the end of the season. Great job for Real and Bale, but how much Bale can still help Tottenham?
Manchester United's 31-year-old Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea says a "curse" must be behind the club's recent lack of trophies. What do you think of this? Manchester United obviously does not need new players and coach but exorcists  Grin Grin

Kane to United? No ... Not happening .Kane is happing with Conte and I really don't think he will move to another PL race contender. I can see why they are linking Pochettino with Kane but whatever the concerns of Kane were are resolved now and he is more than happy with Conte as things stands now. Also why will United need a striker when they already have Ronaldo. So off on so many levels...

Quite an upset going in Bundesliga with table toppers Bayern Munich losing 4-1 to Bochum and it's surprising to see that Bochum are giving them hard time with their attacks and their stats look better than Bayern. I wonder if Bayern will be able to make a comeback here, with a 3 goal cushion it really feels kinda difficult for team like Bayern.
