1741  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The message remains consistent from January to December on: December 08, 2023, 08:19:26 AM
At the moment I don't really think I will feel much pity for anyone who will fall victim of CEX and if such victim is a member of Bitcointalk then no pity because even before the mass public started seeing the reasons not to save their coins on CEX, we here have been taught and given reasons why we should avoid CEX, Thank God though that everyone is almost seeing it crystal clear now, the reasons for avoiding saving coins in CEX especially after the whole FTX crisis and binance being found guilty of the charge by SEC this year.
$15000 is a really huge amount of money, now wondering if this victim has not heard about not saving on CEX or at least only keep only small amounts for your basic spending

Pity for anyone on this forum who is caught up in any exchange issues regarding keeping their coins in them is a waste of time and emotion. This is one of the first lessons that I learnt when I joined this forum, that we should not keep our coins in exchanges, if it's not your keys it's not your coins. The recent issues with top exchanges, like you mentioned is very worrisome, another example is Patricia, an exchange, in Nigeria, that was hacked sometime this year, till now their customers can not get there funds.

Thanks OP for this important reminder, it is good that we hear it once in a while, so it'll always be fresh in our memories.
1742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be watchful it's not yet time on: December 08, 2023, 07:16:31 AM
Honestly, I think no one can tell exactly when it will be the best time to buy more coins, but we all know that the current bear market has been going on for a long time, so we hope that the market will rise soon and we should not depend on other people’s signals and make our own decisions based on our analysis, but I have to say the market is much better now than last year when BTC was around 18-19K and now it is about 31K.

So far as of writing, the prices of coins are going up. If it breaks that $31k resistance, this will cause a lot of people to go back to crypto and buy back what they have sold. Only to find out, they are going to be buying at a higher price.

The resistance has broken and as of today bitcoin, price is over $43k, it is amazing, because it has exceeded many people's expectations. As you predicted people are are still buying, this is probably why the price is going higher everyday. There is high expectations next year because of ETF, halving that'll be followed by ATH bull run, I'm expecting the price to hit $120k, that's me being modest, it could go higher. So far, despite the massively pumped price, it's still not too late to accumulate in readiness for the coming bull run.
1743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is effecting Market? on: December 08, 2023, 06:17:49 AM

Furthermore, due to its global reach and impact, fluctuations in the price of BTC can also have an influence on traditional financial markets. For example, when BTC experienced a sharp decline in 2018, it also caused stock markets around the world to drop.

So guys what are your thoughts about current situation.

Although I didn't have crypto knowledge in 2018, but I really don't see how bitcoin, pump and dump will affect the forex market then and now. They are quit different, one deals in fiat currency, while the other is crypto currency, and except it's the same people that are trading in the both markets, I don't see how the market trend of one will affect the other.

When you talk about the cryptocurrency market, bitcoin is undeniably the king and pacesetter, other crypto coins depend on it's trend to determine their outcomes. Now that we're going into bitcoin, bull run, altcoins, will be preparing to experience bull run too, because bitcoin investors will be happy and willing to buy altcoins, because it will be very profitable.
1744  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Know the difference between being busy and being productive. on: December 07, 2023, 05:32:29 PM
It is not good to be Jack of all trade and master of none, so as OP talk e good say make we de prioritize our needs in the order of dem importance. Meaning say no matter di pressure for your work place, make you first concentrate on di one wey you de effective pass, so you go fit de productive at di end of di day. No be how far but how well, so in order to give your best, make you no come de busy for nothing without quality output or productivity, na to face di work wey you sabi pass. If you be carpenter no go de do electrician work, because at di end of di day, all your busyness and efforts go be in vain.
1745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wojak - Meme Coin on: December 07, 2023, 03:38:20 PM
Making money with memecoin only if you have privileged information from whale pump and dump groups, other than that it's like playing the lottery, it may or may not work, but the greater probability is that it won't work.

Your information is a new angle for me to look at memecoins, all you need do is know the factors that drives each one. In this case as you've said it is privileged information from whale pump and dump groups, although how to get this information still beats me.

For this Wojak memecoin, in question, I'd say if it lives to see bitcoin, ATH, then hopefully the bull run will rub off on it with new investors, and it'll revive again and be profitable.
1746  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 07, 2023, 12:26:27 PM
If you want to invest in crypto assets, bitcoin is the most preferred and mandatory for crypto investors. Because so far Bitcoin has been proven to have a very profitable price flow for investors. In contrast to altcoins which always have price flows that are difficult to predict. Maybe if you want to add to your portfolio in crypto assets such as altcoins, you definitely have to choose altcoins that have really been analytically tested. And still the risk will be much higher compared to bitcoin.

Everybody in the crypto space can not deny that bitcoin is the king and most outstanding of all crypto coins, so one can not go wrong in it's investment. And if a person wants to diversify their options, it's more preferable to do so in old and trusted top altcoins, they'll give near assurance like bitcoin, better the devil that you know than the angel that you don't know. Normal profit that I'm sure will happen is better than high profit that I'm not sure that I can cash in. I like to minimize my risk, instead of aiming for maximum risk, that cannot guarantee my ROI.
1747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you deal with high transaction fee on BTC on gambling? on: December 07, 2023, 10:37:40 AM
I think everyone notice how high the current fee right now on Bitcoin network
I left the bitcoin I have on gambling site alone. If I use my weekly budget finish one day, I will pounce on it. But I have enough gambling weekly budget and I leave it alone the old bitcoin budget alone which I have transferred already to gambling site. I am using stable coins and other altcoins like litecoin and tron to gamble now. As for bitcoin, I will not use it until the mempool become decongested.

It shouldn't be a problem, so far a gambler has alternative sources of payments, other than bitcoin, it's to take advantage of stable coins and altcoins, to make deposits. Bitcoin high transaction fees is a big disadvantage for it's usage to make payments for now, due to mempool congestion. It's only advantage for now is perhaps that it's somehow compelling people to keep accumulating and  holding, so they'll have surplus to sale and make huge profit, during bull run.
1748  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: User protection funds, Should more cex adopt this culture? on: December 07, 2023, 09:26:53 AM
Is Binance's SAFU the same with this protection fund of Bitget? Yes, it could just be a shill to make it look good but here's my tea on this one.

It's not going to change the fact that CEX remains as a CEX even with these features. As long as they're not providing its customers the custody to own over the coins they deposit, whether there are insurances or protection funds, nothing will change that fact.

It might be a good feature but do you think that it's good to rely on it because they have that sort of protection? The best protection is you alone to hold that key of your funds.

User protection fund is good, it at least gives their customers some assurance that their funs is secured, no matter what happens. Assurances like this are necessitated by the fact that people are loosing confidence in exchanges, even the well established ones, due to obvious observations that have been happening lately.

Truth remains that even with these features, as you've observed, as long as their customers do not have control over their coins in the exchanges, then there's no full assurance, in the case of the exchange shutting down.
1749  Other / Politics & Society / Re: French man attacks and kills tourist in Paris on: December 07, 2023, 08:31:27 AM
RIP to the deceased, attacks like this are in the name of no God. They are carried out by mentally ill cowards. No God would want innocent people to die. Terrorist attacks are still happening regularly, I wish there was something that could he done to stop it but I fear it will always happen.

It's sad that these terrorists and mentally ill individuals use religion as an excuse to  commit these murders, I believe that there are also monstrous individuals that stay in the background that brainwashes these mentally ill individuals to kill innocent people for no justifiable reasons. If I didn't have Muslim friends who are very responsible, I'd have ignorantly associated Islam with terrorism. The activities of terrorists in the world are increasing, so nations should increase their security alertness to protect lives from thethi hands of these murderers.

1750  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late to seek a new beginning? on: December 07, 2023, 07:29:23 AM
As you have learned from joining bounty campaign that it isn't profitable or you can't earn decent amount of money from it and you decided to learn more about Bitcoin and crypto related stuff then that's good start in my opinion. Since you are looking for another way to earn money in the future then have you considered buying Bitcoin and hold it for as long as you want until it js sure to sell for profit. The one who introduced you to this forum is surely a bounty hunter where you ask that person another way to earn but still that person taught you about bounties when you already know that it's not fruitful for you.

He's now in the right place to learn everything there's to know about cryptocurrency, all he needs to do is stay active in the forum. I joined this forum without a single knowledge about anything related to crypto, and today my knowledge has increased significantly, now I can give advice to the extent that I know. Besides following and engaging in discussions of areas that interests you, there are also numerous helpful links in the forum to increase crypto knowledge. When OP is ready to put money in crypto, I'll also advice him to start with bitcoin, as his knowledge increases, he can decide to buy altcoins, but he must consider the risks involved in choosing the right altcoin, to buy.
1751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: investing a money on: December 07, 2023, 06:39:34 AM
Let's assume we have a) $5000 b) $10000 c) $15000 to invest, what do you suggest?
Let me tell you at the outset that to make yourself financially independent, deciding to invest is a very good decision. It doesn't matter if the investment amount is big or small. But to protect your funds you need to choose the right legitimate scheme to invest. If you are a new investor then it is better for you to invest small amount in the beginning. You have to be very careful if you choose altcoins for investment. So that you don't get scammed by investing in the wrong altcoin

Choosing a right investment option is very important, because there are a lot of hyped projects out there that are not worth putting money into. So it's very important to make a thorough research before investing your hard earned money into anything that you're not very sure of. In cryptocurrency, bitcoin is the safest option, besides being the first crypto coin, it has proven to be the pacesetter in terms of leading in bull run, where other coins follows it's part, and your money is safe and profitable in it.

Be very choosy when it comes  altcoins, because many will come and disappear with investors money, so I'll advice that you choose from the list of top altcoins, that'll give you the same long lasting and profitable guarantees as bitcoin.
1752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: help me not to leave btc on: December 06, 2023, 09:49:58 PM
I'm a 19-year-old boy living in South Korea and now btt, doge, shiba inu, etc.. have skyrocketed in just a few hours on our country exchange 'upbit'. A little fomo is coming. I can't believe it's gone up more than a months I've invested in bitcoin. I personally don't want to invest in other coins, as I think bitcoin is superior.
What kind of mindset should I have to stay in Bitcoin? And I think Bitcoin is about to hit the highest price ever, so how should I plan my dca strategy?

Bitcoin is the king of crypto coins and you're very safe to stay in bitcoin, especially now that bull run and ATH is around the corner, so you can't go wrong with it. But if you must buy altcoins, I'm old school, so I'd advice you to stick to it's top coins, like ETH and BNB, they will not promise you very high ROI in the shortest time, but you'll still get high value for your investment. But if you have the shock absorber for high risk, then you can gamble with new coins, they're profitable, but you never know the ones that'll diminish before you cash in.
1753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore on: December 06, 2023, 09:06:42 PM
I'm open to purchasing top coins under various conditions. For instance, if ETH were to decrease to $100, there'd be no clear reason not to consider buying. This illustrates one possible scenario. Additionally, I'm keen on acquiring top coins when they're undervalued. While this approach carries risk, it's essential to take risks to generate profit. Thorough market analysis is crucial for successful investment.

I have limited choice when it comes to altcoins, so I won't know much about the ones to forgo, it's only top atlcoins for me, even so, I can only narrow it to only two, ETH and BNB. So I don't have much on my list to scrap out. As you said, best time to acquire more is when they're undervalued, they probably can't sink lower than that, it's to wait until they start to pump again, then sale. But I won't take the same risk with new altcoins, despite their hype, because I like to buy into what I'm sure that'll stand the test of time, even for lower profit, not the ones that'll
promise very high profit, but probably be dead when I'm ready to cash in.
1754  Economy / Economics / Re: World is full of things what nobody dont need just too much on: December 06, 2023, 03:16:27 PM

I want to also advise that if your basement is filled with clothes that you don't need anymore you can donate them to NGOs so that they can be distributed to people that need them. Prisons in my location will be willing to receive such clothes because many inmates don't have clothing materials. The truth is that the rich will continue to buy what they want and the poor will be satisfied with their basic needs.

I'm guessing that OP must come from a wealthy family or is very rich that he doesn't understand that because he has and sees food, clothes and luxury items in abundance, that there are millions of people who don't have food to eat, clothes to wear, not to talk of the privilege of owning luxury items. For his information people still buy second hand clothes, cars, household items and they're grateful for it, so having these things in abundance shouldn't make anybody to feel that life is that rosy everywhere.

This is the mindset of some people who are brought up in a palace, they think that life is a bed of roses, they should go to the other side of town and see what hard life is about.
1755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: December 06, 2023, 01:52:48 PM
This is wield to us that have understanding of how gambling works, we know that gambling is risky, and it depends on luck to win. I bet that some people who don't have this knowledge will fall for this kind of scam, because people wants sow very little and reap bountifully. The trick can work if you're ignorant about how gambling works and someone you know comes along to sale you the idea that when you invest in gambling, within a short time that winning will happen and you'll gain ×1000 of your investment. It'll surprise you that naive people will buy the idea and put in their money, but it'll take a gambling addict or a scammer to ask someone to invest their hard earned money in gambling
1756  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will Bitvavo share my BTC holdings with the government? on: December 06, 2023, 11:34:44 AM
According to my research, Bitbavo seems to be a local cryptocurrency exchange registered with DNB (Dutch Central Bank). Today, we know that the bank is a regulated business under the government. This means that, whatever the bank requests, any information must be provided.

So if Bitbavo requests information about you from the bank, the local exchange must provide it, especially if it is from DNB; they cannot violate that order. Because Bitbavo is also a local centralized exchange platform, So you can't get the bank to suspect you of anti-money laundering.

Me and OP now have a better understanding about Bitbavo, they're affiliated with bank, that means that the government is in the know about your crypto transactions. Exception of trading, if it were bitcoin investment or a payment method, OP should have just relied on p2p, to hodle and sale, and evade government interferences. In my country, the central bank placed ban on banks to facilitate crypto transactions, but this is not a problem for us, we rely on p2p and exchanges for our crypto transactions. Although cryptocurrency, is not yet regulated in my country.
1757  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Religious conflict in Phillipines on: December 06, 2023, 10:37:58 AM
This is a very sad development, I sympathize with the families of the victims of this crime. Terrorists are unleashing their terrors on innocent people in the name of religion. I have Muslim friends and all of them do not support the activities of these terrorists, who commit these barbaric crimes in the name of Islam. The fight against terrorism is a global concern, so every nation needs to show concern and offer assistance to nations that these wicked humans are terrorising. I believe that the sponsors of these terrorisms have hidden agendas, they're just using religion to cover up their real intentions. Let the whole world rise up to these responsibility to crush these terror enemies.
1758  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Precautions For Safety This Yelutide Season on: December 06, 2023, 09:56:18 AM
Thatnks for the precautionary advice, especially in this Christmas season, scammers will want to capitalize on people's ignorance to enrich themselves. It is very important to verify the sources of links that is sent to us, that promises tremendous rewards, because at the end of the day you will be the one rewarding these scammers.

I've always been skeptical about new altcoins, because of the unpleasant experiences of forum members that have lost their investments. We should look beyond the hypes of these projects and consider if they'll be durable in the crypto market, because most of them will end up shitcoins. This is why my preference will remain bitcoin, and of course top altcoins that have proven their worth.
1759  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: A piece of advise concerning various links flying around on: December 06, 2023, 07:15:35 AM
Your talk make complete sense because di rate wey we de take see links for our Facebook, WhatsApp, telegram and others, di thing no get mate. So na to just de ignore dem be di thing, or make sure say you verify di source very well before you enter di site, because most of dem wey de promise rewards na scam dem be. No be only through phishing links, some na through our family and friends, dem go tell you to take money register to de eligible for money wey one charity organization wan share, I don lose 2k registration before through dis kind scam. Person wey wan help you no go tell you to bring money to collect di help money. This scammers go collect registration money from thousands of ignorant people and disappear.
1760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Established Altcoins or new potential coins this bullrun ? on: December 06, 2023, 06:42:33 AM
I would prefer new Altcoins which is entering bullrun for the first time.

I hope you realized that not every altcoins newly introduced do get to the peak of its performance as expected, some fail along the way while some do extremely well in making their Investors proud of them, we just have to consider the two sides altogether before making a complete decision on which yo take, as for me, i will prefer going for the ones i know already exist and are trusted, then invest only the amount i can afford to loose on other new altcoins projects.

I agree with what you said, if an investor has the capital then there's nothing stopping him from investing in the top and new altcoins, altogether. Like you, I'll also advice to give preference to the trusted altcoins, then invest what he can afford to loose on new altcoins. No doubt that new altcoins, are more profitable in the short term, but you don't know how long they will last in the market, they can diminish with your capital while you're waiting for them to increase more in value. But with top altcoins like ethereum, they might not promise 20× pump, but you're certain of your ROI. Bitcoin, remains at the very top, indisputable.
