Well we now know our Super Bowl..as long as Mahomes is healthy, or at least like 90% of himself, which is a huge if albeit, we should have a pretty solid game on our hands.

I bet more bitcoin than I ever have on the Cincy / KC game. I really thought with Mahomes banged up and Burrow just oozing with confidence "Burrowhead Stadium", that it was their game.  Just goes to show how absolutely stupidly good Mahomes is. IMO Burrow is the leagues 2nd best QB and Mahomes more than out played him with far less talent..can't imagine if Mahomes had Chase, Higgens and Boyd.

As for who's going to win...I'm going w/Philly..that big run Mahomes had towards the end of that game may have really messed him up.  We shall see!
1742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Playoffs on: January 31, 2023, 06:10:41 AM
The Eagles have pretty much punched their ticket to the superbowl. San Fransisco was pretty much done when they lost Purdy.

Looking forward to cincy beating Mahomes and the Cheifs for the 4th time.

Oh yeah once Purdy went down their chances were over.  It's crazy enough that he was their third string quarterback..no way a 4th string was going to come in and do much damage.  Now we know it was a major injury that's going to put him out for six months.  Can't wait to see what they do at quarterback going forward.

Yeah I was looking forward to Cincy beating Mahomes and the Chiefs too but that unfortunately didn't happen.  Hopefully Mahomes is healthy enough to be himself, or at least 90% of himself for the Super Bowl.
1743  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- ***NEW UPDATES*** on: January 31, 2023, 06:07:07 AM
So I sent Tim a text message and get a reply back.

"The website is in the process of being rebuilt and about half of the data in the coin database was corrupted. We've moved coins to a new cold wallet so the old addresses are not accurate"

One would think instead of going silent for the last 15 or so months he would post updates here.

Wow. This is huge. Thanks for this. He never moved the BCH either. Huh

Can you post like some kind of  proof of this message you received, it just seems odd nobody else has heard fuck all... Huh

Thanks mate. Wink

https://imgur.com/sdk3xk7

If he can move them, doesn’t that mean be could send them to the people who want them redeemed? There is zero premium on a funded 2fa Titan besides whatever a peeled Titan would bring IMO

I've been meaning to catch up on this thread, a few pointed out to me what has been going on.  Obviously this is huge news.  This is exactly what I was wondering, if he's moving coins then surely it's time to be able to redeem them?

@RealHummer- thanks for sharing and the updates.  I'm glad that he's responding via text, but it would certainly be nice for him to post some updates here, let us know what's going on.  Have you gotten any other updates on your end ?

Here we go! I put some bitcoin down on the Niners (I keep wanting to say San Fran but now I can’t, thanks @direwolf lol). I think the Eagles are the better team but the Niners were at +3 and I just have some weird feeling they’ll pull off the upset.

The Bengals this week went from +1 to -1 to +1 to +1.5 to + 2  lol…I got them at +1 and + 2. Feeling Joe Cool and that team big time. But since I am I’m sure that means I’ll lose my bet lol. Placed the largest bet I ever have this game.

Should be a fun day !!
1745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My step to promote bitcoin on: January 27, 2023, 04:29:48 AM
I think this is a great idea, and hopefully you'll follow up with us on this, with some photos and what not of your stickers actually being put to use.  We all have to do our part to help the adoption of bitcoin, or at least we all should be, because even as great as any scientific breakthrough might be, if it doesn't catch the entire publics eye, it may not get excepted or established, especially one that goes against the "establishment"..ie governments and traditionalists.
1746  Economy / Economics / Re: Excessive Rain Can Hamper the Economic Cycle on: January 27, 2023, 04:26:18 AM
Yeah it's just like with anything in live, there's always a balance that needs to be had for things to be perfect..not too much rain, but not too much dry weather.  We are experiencing a similar thing here in the United States in certain areas. California has had some substantial rain themselves, which has put a hamper on tourism there which of course effects the economy as an entirety.

Best of luck to you guys with recovering from that mess!
1747  Economy / Economics / Re: Use your money wisely. Invest or Deposit ? on: January 27, 2023, 04:22:06 AM
Good god there's so much bad information in this thread.  I sound like a broken record because I've had this same conversation a millions times on this forum, but there's a lot of things to take in to account. How old is the person, how much income do they currently have each year, are they on track for their retirement goals or are they already retired? etc etc etc.

Once you know all this, then you can formulate a plan.  Putting most of it in the bank at a 3% interest rate which is not even remotely coming close to the rate of inflation (your break even level) would be a stupid idea.

Putting it all in bitcoin would likely be a stupid idea.  Putting it all in anything would be a stupid idea. Diversify.
1748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 27, 2023, 04:18:15 AM
Yeah it should be a pretty good game.  Both games this weekend are pretty damn exciting and all four teams in the games really deserve being there.  As much as I believe in the 49r's, it's not going to be easy for a rookie QB to be able to take down a team as complete as Philly is.  If I had to put money on the game, I think I'm siding with Philly.  Just because of the rookie QB situation and coming in just 7 games or so ago.

Regardless, can't wait to watch the games.

If 49ers win I guarantee it will be because Kittle has a huge day.

Kittle and McCaffrey both will need to have a good day for the 9ers to proceed.  The Eagles' run-defense is ranked 16th, right in the middle of the league, so the 9ers' run game will likely be the deciding factor.  That's one of the reasons I'm not so worried about the fact that we're going into the NFC Championship with a rookie QB.  Don't get me wrong, the 9ers have had issues playing on the east coast, so it'll have to be error-free football for them to get the win.

But we all know that defense wins championships, so the our D needs to keep our offense working within the capabilities of a good run game.  If the Eagles rack up the score as they've been doing so far this year it'll be difficult for our offense to keep up.

Regardless of who wins, this is turning out to be a pretty good season of playoff football.  Last year's playoffs were full of amazing matches, and this year has been pretty exciting as well.

If the Niners can some how win it all (which I think the champion is going to be either Cincy or KC), they are going to look like geniuses for going out and getting McCaffrey.  That guy has been such a versatile weapons for them since he arrived.  I think it was game 2 when he had that pass, run and receiving TD..ridiculous.

You're right though defense often wins championships..but Burrow and Mahomes got other plans (assuming they get past Philly)
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 27, 2023, 04:13:36 AM
Yet another ugly loss for the Bulls.  They came in at -3.5 points which I thought shouldn't be too hard to cover with your team mostly healthy and playing a team with a record of 14-36.  I have lost all hope in the Bulls, not that they had a real chance at anything anyways, but just being competitive makes them fun to watch and they can hardly be that...not even playing .500 ball is sickening with a roster that talented.

In the next five years, it is likely that AI will begin to reduce employment for college-educated workers. As the technology continues to advance, it will be able to perform tasks that were previously thought to require a high level of education and skill. This could lead to a displacement of workers in certain industries, as companies look to cut costs by automating processes. While it is difficult to predict the exact extent of this trend, it is clear that AI will have a significant impact on the job market for college-educated workers. It will be important for individuals to stay up to date on the latest developments in AI and to consider how their skills and expertise can be leveraged in a world where machines are increasingly able to perform many tasks.

I'm personally skeptical on the ability of machine learning/neural networks to fully replace humans. I think it's more likely that it will boost productivity by performing the more simple and routine tasks, but there will still be the need for human touch. People will lose jobs because now a professional will be able to do the work of 2 professionals, but AI won't do the work of all professionals.

Well I think it's important to first note that artificial intelligence, or "AI" does not actually even exist yet, and we are likely quite a ways off from actually having created AI (self learning).  Chap GPT is a pretty cool new program and these types of programs are only going to get better, but they aren't legitimate AI so there upside to replace humans is still quite limited.  Surely this type of stuff will start to replace humans, but for certain things, and I think it'll take a lot longer than many are predicting.
1751  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we end the *VOLATILITY OF BITCOIN* on: January 25, 2023, 07:52:41 PM
This is a great/important topic and one I think we should all be having more often.  In my opinion one of the biggest things that we need in order to help bring more stability to bitcoin is....actually using it!  I'm fully convinced that bitcoin actually being used as a means of payment, is what's going to shoot it "to the moon".  There's still too many skeptics who point out it's lack of real world use for every day items and by starting to use it more often would be a huge boost to it's acceptance and therefore help volatility.
1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tom Brady's Gambling and HUGE loss. on: January 25, 2023, 07:49:58 PM
Ehhhh not so sure I'm with you on this.  First off, no one really knows why Tom Brady and his wife decided to divorce.  I'm sure his continued football career deep in to his 40's is part of it, but I'd also guess that it was certainly not THE reason for the divorce.

Also, no one really knows how much money Brady had invested in to FTX.  I've been reading all these wild accusations saying he put every dollar he had in to FTX etc etc, but this is all conjecture.

Those of you with 4k TVs been enjoying the Fox broadcasts this playoffs?  It drives me nuts that Fox is the only one doing 4k and only doing so for the playoffs.

I hope the Super Bowl will be in 4k, does anyone remember if it was last year?

Anyway, I think niners will finally collapse this week (sorry Dire),

Don't be sorry, we'll just have to agree to disagree.  Realistically, I've been saying that I think the Eagles are a fluke since mid-season.  I predicted they would be one and done in the playoffs, so obviously my prediction isn't 100% accurate, but I'll settle for two and done.  Grin

I am not a football expert or have as much information and knowledge compared to everyone in this thread, however, I agree that the 49ers might give everyone the shock of the season. It will be witnessed that it will be the most difficult game that the Eagles has ever played this season. I am afraid that Jalen Hurts might fail to perform in the most critical of moments because of San Francisco's defense.

This will be called the miraculous game.

Terrible loss by the Chicago Bulls last night.  I just don't get it with this team.  They beat really good teams on a decently regular basis but keep loosing to teams they shouldn't be losing to, like the Indiana Pacers last night.  They had a 21 point lead at one point and completely squandered that.  Lavine only having 14 pts was pretty sad.  The guy was 0-7 from the three point line last night.  After missing 5 straight 3 pointers it's probably time to switch it up.  SMH, terrible loss.
1755  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: January 24, 2023, 09:08:09 PM
Renting versus Buying is an age old "debate" but which you should do lies somewhere in between the two.  Sometimes renting makes more sense and sometimes buying makes more sense.  It just entirely depends on where you live, as in what country and what city.  There's some good articles out there online that talk about what to look for when you're deciding on renting versus buying.  Here's a pretty good article that shows some key reasons why renting might be the best bet for some- https://www.investopedia.com/financial-edge/1112/reasons-renting-is-better-than-buying.aspx
1756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its safe to say Bitcoin has recovered all it's losses since the FTX collapse? on: January 24, 2023, 09:03:17 PM
It seems that people are now getting used to Bitcoin market behaviour, now people are understanding that Bitcoin cycle is 4 years. Imagine if the FTX collapse happen in 2017, I believe the impact will be more drastical compare to today, now I can boldly say that Bitcoin has now recovered all it's losses since the FTX collapsed, is this safe to say?

I never expected the fast recovery that's why I said the world is finally understanding why Bitcoin is a necessity in every one's life, am I saying too much? Or you think I am right?

I think it's important to note that bitcoin doesn't really have a "cycle" every four years, its just that bitcoin simply "halves" every four years, which is different and would be a bit confusing to those not real versed on bitcoin if you don't explain what you mean by that exactly.

Bitcoin didn't have anything to recover from, only people.  I'm also pretty certain that most people who lost money in the FTX ordeal have not recovered.  Totally different things you're mixing up here.
1757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 24, 2023, 08:56:38 PM
This is actually a pretty good idea.  I have done this with other types of things, like CBD tinctures.  I'll go to the website, look around a bit, enter in my email either for their newsletter or to "sign up" but don't place any immediate orders. Almost always within a few days I'll get an email saying something like "can we tempt you with 20% off" or something to that effect.

Thanks for sharing this idea, not sure why I haven't done this before with online casinos.
1758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK fines online casino for only asking KYC from winning gamblers on: January 24, 2023, 08:46:45 PM
I'm all about freedom and less government ( the side of me that sides Republican here in America) but I'm not sure it makes any sense to have KYC only if you win.  If they are going to require KYC, then to me it only makes sense to make it a requirement from the start so you know that you are going run in to at some point.  By not requiring KYC up front, I feel like it's a bit misleading, and therefore doesn't really make sense.
1759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 24, 2023, 08:37:06 PM
NBA 2022/2023 Season is absolutely phenomenal and full of surprises. Each of the teams surprises with the level of play, except for the San Antonio Spurs, which can be seen that this season they can not find a place for themselves in the league. Constant losses, roster rotation, lack of teamwork. I hope they will surprise us all next season after completing their shortcomings.
I used to be a fan of San Antonio Spurs but when their former roster has retired, there's no longer any spark to the team unlike before when they're with Duncan, Parker and Ginobili.

I guess most teams that are struggling now were used to be great with their former rosters that we've became fans of.

But this time, that era has ended and we're entering to the new era and we have to bear with this reality to sink in.

They have been rebuilding since that dynasty, although there is high hopes that time that Kawhi will be the next generation, but we all know that he went on his separate ways and become a champion in Toronto.

Coach Pop has yet to find his next big 3, he has been experimenting in the last decade or so and continue to tank his season. And hopefully they can find the right players otherwise they will continue to be like this in the next couple of seasons.

I used to really enjoy watching this team, but as you have both pointed out, they are no longer the Spurs of the past.  They of course had some big time talent on that team, but they did an excellent job creating a fully well rounded squad even outside of just the superstars on that team.  I would complain about them being so good for so long, but as a Chicago Bulls fan we had our own dynasty, so I can't complain too much lol.

I told this to Mike back in 2015 or 2016, something like “man if you came back you would do so well being there’s such a demand etc”.  It was my early days and I’m sure he was thinking something like “Im well aware noob”.  I said this after we briefly conversed via email after I had initially asked if he was still selling coins at all and he had told me he quit a few years back but they can sometimes be found on eBay.

Mike did say in that Shrem interview he’s not totally ruled out making another coin, and that he may prefer to partner up with someone on it  (imagine a Kialara Casascius co/project). This would have been really cool for Theymos proposed forum coin.
