17401  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Release new 7NM Chip and Antminer S17 & T17 on: March 19, 2019, 09:13:05 PM
If Bitmain follows the Z11, then that means they've gone back to not using built-in PSU's (which I would love).

we will have to wait for now. maybe in a few months we will get an idea of what the plan is.
17402  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: March 19, 2019, 04:51:17 PM
I don't see any working model of either of them. I am not defending bitmain, but waiting 4 months seems a little irrational to me.

absolute truth

a 4 month preorder is nuts.

sometimes I hate the internet as writing what you mean is hard to do.

I see info (specs)  that is clear and easy to understand on the m20
I see no info on the s17 (specs)

is all I mean.

I do not mean you should do a four month preorder of the m20.
For that matter you should not do a four month preorder of the s17

In fact you should not do preorders beyond 45 days.
I did order 1 t15 due to ship on April 1-10  basically I was curious  to compare it to a s15 which I have.

and it had a coupon and in theory was under the trump tax number.
17403  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolin Whatsminer M10 - 33TH at 2145W on: March 19, 2019, 04:42:57 PM
I have created a support ticket and will update going forward with how Pango resolves this issue.

From what I recall, the pop originated from the PSU and was loud enough to make me jump back. The PDU's are still being used right now without issue.

Edit: After giving it about 4 hours now, I just plugged it back in and everything is working... Very suspicious and will be sitting within view of this guy for the rest of the day with my fire extinguisher close by. Will still go through the support process with Pango to see what they have to say about what may have happened.

are you usa based?

I am in Howell NJ

I ordered these parts as a just in case.

https://pangolinminer.com/product/power-supply-unit-for-m10d1/   I have 1

https://pangolinminer.com/product/miner-control-board-m10-m10s-d1/ I have 1

https://pangolinminer.com/product/miner-fan-set-m10/ I have this which is 1 pair of fans

they should send you a psu fast try asking on telegram all the links above have a telegram link.
17404  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Release new 7NM Chip and Antminer S17 & T17 on: March 19, 2019, 04:22:19 PM
Of course they are, its called product testing....

Let us know if you can  about any specs.

Thanks In Advance

I have only seen 30 at the chip from bitmain

and one person mentions 1200 watts for 34th  which is really good. about 35.3 watts a th

Fans and controller = maybe 50 watts

so 1150/34000 = 33.8 watts per th chipwise

I figure 1275/34000  37.5 per th is the best it can do power rate.

I figure a 30 chip  can do 20% so 36 watts a th

36 x 34th = 1224 + 51 = 1275.

two screen shots from bitmain show a design change in psu placement
my guess is s17 will do the z11 design  you could fit more on a shelf

17405  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: March 19, 2019, 04:06:03 PM
for me a m20 a s17 or the t3 all work

the clifton site runs at a high of 238 and a low of 227 so all psu's will work.

in house I have 237 to 245 so s17 is a major if.

3 T3's all doing 41th on eco setting

so 2089/41000 = 51 watts a th

this is better then the s15 on low setting by far hash rate is 2x power rate is around a tie.

as the s15 does 910/18000  = 51 watts a th  but hash rate difference is huge.

17406  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Release new 7NM Chip and Antminer S17 & T17 on: March 19, 2019, 02:09:20 PM
Then how do you define "released"?

Semantics. Which is why I argued with him. Btw I would guess they have them at bitdeer and that they charge s15 power rates while they mine with the s17.

As there is zero oversight on this.
17407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: the new fpga miner for www.cwminer.com on: March 19, 2019, 01:04:19 PM
I asked for mods to move this to alt coin as it is an alt coin miner.
17408  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: March 19, 2019, 01:02:46 PM
I don't see any specs for bitmain. I see specs for Whatsminer.
17409  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Release new 7NM Chip and Antminer S17 & T17 on: March 19, 2019, 12:36:20 PM
No it can not be ordered as of today so it is not released.

lastly  my coffee cup of vanilla vodka just about finished off.

my apologies for not posting it last night.  Since the block was delayed. I realize I should post it today to please the block gods of Btc Grin

-- I hope you didn't forget to spill a bit of that vodka as payment to the block gods..

That would be a great sacrifice tossing a few drops alone is hard but a bit  would have to be at least ½  of a teaspoon.

I like that vodka a lot I don't know bro. Wink

Well crap.. If you can't spare some for the block gods, I'm just going to have to appease the gods with a tasty drip of my vodka!

I have decided I was selfish and I have made a sacrifice of  some vodka more then a bit maybe ¼ of a cap.

lets see what happens Grin
17411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: March 19, 2019, 03:07:41 AM
I really hope that ETH devs decide to fork to ProgPOW in the next few months and it will be interesting to see how many ASICs are actually mining ETH.
I've been seeing a lot of questionable things and accusations levied against ProgPOW, PIRL (ETH "clone") recently decided to not fork to ProgPOW for a list of reasons relating to how ProgPOW was made. I don't have a lot of specifics, but I know there's lots of questionable things relating to it.
The most questionable to me is the trustworthiness of the ProgPow wannabe figurehead aka OhGodAGirl.
Made a bunch of promises to the mining community with the Mineority project only to deliver nothing and completely sink it a few months later, leaving people with hosted GPUs and FPGAs in total limbo.

Scapegoat or not, somebody with these credentials (and who, to date, refuses to both apologise and acknowledge failure) does not inspire confidence.

well either she is the bad guy or sql acorn is.

I went pretty much in on BCI and mine 200 coins a week.  But the coin has sagged a lot in price.

10 cents for 4900 coins = $490 which is not as good as grin and that also tanked.

I have 12x 1080ti's 4x vega 56  but only pay the power on the 4 vegas

will stop in a month or two once the heat settles in.

Well I am glad I ordered that 8th m10  it will make this wait shorter Grin
17414  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 19, 2019, 12:59:53 AM
3 different pre-orders for the M20 at whatsminer.net

M20S – ~72.x Th/s @ 3124W (33124W on the web site, typo?) - $2160
M20V1 – ~48.x Th/s @ 2200W - $1390
M20V2 – ~58.x Th/s @ 3364W - $1485

wtf m20s is 72th?  and does 3124 watts?   only 43 watts a th!

holy shit "I want it all and I want it now!"   note a line from a song by queen.
17415  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M10 33.0 Th/s, 2145W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: March 19, 2019, 12:51:04 AM
Just got Number 8 today it uses admin/admin to log in.

and no access to the admin page to change password.

Seems to be working well in fact runs a bit cooler then any of my other machines.

I will be adding this to the Clifton,NJ setup. Along with 1 s9 and 1 l3+

This will bring us to 586th for btc and 8.2gh for ltc
17416  Other / Serious discussion / Re: When will old mining rigs become collectable? on: March 18, 2019, 04:43:30 PM
ebay has L3+ with a psu for under 175

17417  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 18, 2019, 04:25:38 PM
My m10 comes today  it will be number 8

pretty amazing 8 units can do 248th you need 18.4 kwatts of juice.
17418  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 18, 2019, 04:12:37 PM
@ Offordscott
Thank you my bad.

@ mikeywith
As for the s17

I have heard  34th 1200 watts tossed around.

If it is truly 30 per chip   at best it does 20 % higher = 36 per chip  or 36 watts a th   which is 1224 watts for 34th

I suspect the s17 will do:

low speed 34th at 1225 watts
high speed 40th at 1600 watts  which is very competitive against the m10 48th

it may be this for the m20

32 th at 1265 watts = 40 watts  a th
48 th at 2300 watts = 48 watts  a th

if the numbers are true above then  m20 vs s17  would be interesting.
17419  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: March 18, 2019, 03:19:45 PM
The only issue that’s going on is that Pango decided to launch a pre-order sale too early and without any verified specs. They did so on their own and without the knowledge or blessing of MicroBT.

Pango need $ in order to survive. They most likely only launched the preorder to test the market and to collect some interest and some funds this quarter.

There is more then this but it is about the deletions of posts.
It appears someone other then frodocooper or ck has been deleting posts.

I had some deleted last night and an entire thread on Avalon done by hagssFin was deleted last night.

Maybe it was maxwell as he is a mod for this section. So basically anything we write may be altered.

And as for Pangolinminer if they are not authorized why and how are they getting gear from MicroBT?

They have sold m3 m3x and m10
17420  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: March 18, 2019, 01:19:25 PM
Hello dear, pleace tell me the best firmware and settings for avalon 921 and Raspberry
for maximum hashrate.

I gave up on this unit  I have it set that it does about 1800 watts and 19th

I think -1   there has been new firmware  but I do not think anyone has been able to get it to do much better at the watts per th level.

Does anyone have this  doing 80 watts a th at any setting?  If so please post screenshots  and wattmeter.

On the good side if power is cheap it is really reliable  at 1800 watts and 19th.
