It is funny but serious. Ownership can only be defined as "knowing your private key". Sometimes I forget things. Sometimes, later on, I remember them again. Nobody can blame you for that. Grin

Probably the stupidest thing I will read all day, well I guess I have 36 more hours to find out.

It's systematically organized flawless arithmetic. Don't be jealous
1764  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purpose of holding Bitcoin useless if you're doing it for USD on: September 27, 2014, 11:17:36 PM
"Spending to keep the economy alive" only works when inflationary currency is being used.

Sorry.

The only reason Bitcoins were up at $1000 at one point was because so many users were just sitting there holding Bitcoins but not buying shit, then when they saw it was 1k they all sold it down, back to 576

I like the "five years later the cops start working on it" lol. Lazy cops.

I forgot to tell you, this was in 'merka
1766  Other / Off-topic / I read somewhere that Bitcoin miners solve math problems on: September 27, 2014, 11:07:30 PM
I once heard somewhere that Bitcoin mining works by having processing power solve enhanced math problems (algorithms) in exchange for Bitcoin

So can you guys solve this one? It's been bugging me for a while :S

On an equinox, how many hours are there in a full day? 24? Not according to systematically organized flawless arithmetic.

Let 'x' = sum of number of hours in a day and the number of hours in a night
Let 'n' = number of hours in a night
Let 'd' = number of hours in a day

On an equinox, the night is a bit greater than or smaller than 12 hours. So we will take the approximate value.

'n' = 12

According to Google's unit converter, a day is 24 hours long.

'd' = 24

Equation for 'x': x = n + d

Substituting for 'n' and 'd'

x = 12 + 24

x = 36

Therefore, a day is not twenty four hours long, but thirty six!!!

1768  Economy / Speculation / Purpose of holding Bitcoin useless if you're doing it for USD on: September 27, 2014, 10:44:45 PM
People always claim, that in thirty years or so, Bitcoin would be valued at $100k

Now we have Bitcoins, and they're divisible by 10 nanodigits, which is really incredible to combat problems caused by inflation of wealth.

As of now, 1 microbit, or mBTC (.001 BTC) is worth 40 cents. When Bitcoin was at $1000, 1 mBTC was worth a dollar. IF Bitcoin reaches the often speculated $10k USD point, 1 mBTC would be worth ten dollars, and at the $100k mark, 1 mBTC would be worth $100 dollars, making you walk around with your wallet of millibits like a proud millionaire by the year 2037, right?

...Except by the time Bitcoins are speculated to be worth that much, in the unlikely event that the USD still exists in that future, it would be so heavily inflated, that with your 100 bucks that you swap out for your millibit, you'd be able to buy like, one egg (fiat doesn't last very long, inflation will always wreck it, it's law)

Spend your Bitcoins people, don't hold them. Not only does the holding constrict the economy, but in the end it would be a total waste of your time!

There is no guarantee on the USD, stop making the comparison!

Just look up the anti feminist there are actually a good amount of girls that are in that group.

Argumentum ad populum

So your saying I am a liar well here's a link to a video about them.

No, I was merely suggesting that just because a certain group is popular, doesn't mean they're factually accurate.

1772  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: September 27, 2014, 10:22:21 PM
The reason religions preach in mass numbers is because there trying to save those people in there perspective. so there trying to be nice not hateful so if you have a Jehovah's witness come to your house educate yourself before you slam the door on them like the asshole you probably are.

The worse kind of tyrant is the one believing to be "good" or "saving someone". They torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their conscience.

That's true, and with no evidence to back it up whatsoever! What a shame!

They're on private property, it's our first amendment right to slam the door on their faces

If your edit out "five years later", the whole story will be much more believable.

I'm not trying to make it believable Tongue
1775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some people say Bitcoin has reached its "maximum exposure" level? on: September 27, 2014, 08:34:06 PM
In the US, more than 50% of consumers have heard about bitcoin. Still, the majority – 65% – said they are unlikely to buy the currency.

http://www.coindesk.com/real-world-problems-bitcoin-actually-solve-right-now/

This is extremely UNREALISTIC. More like 20%. Just test it yourself, ask random people and they have no fucking idea what Bitcoin is at all.

Asking random people isn't carrying out a scientific study

Taxation is theft. Anyone who says taxes are voluntary or they're paying taxes only because they wish to "help" or maintain their nation are only suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.

You are only lying to yourself, you'd be arrested if you didn't pay your taxes. The IRS is the most heavily armed organization apart from the military and the local police departments.

That's not voluntaryism, it's extortion, theft, and extraction of funds from the working class so they can be used for illegal settlements in Palestine, expanding military bases in the Middle East, and stretching the disturbing surveillance program that the National Security Agency calls PRISM.

so you refuse to pay taxes

but you'll still use services that are paid with taxes, that makes you a THIEF, criminal

if you aren't going to pay taxes, then don't go to school!

teachers are paid by the tax payers, don't go to hospital if you get injured [doctors also paid by taxes, unless you're murrican], don't call the police if someone robs you, don't call the fire department if someone sets your house on fire, don't use the roads!

you're committing a robbery

everyone else is paying for these services and you're using them scott free at the expense of other tax payers

False, I don't use food stamps or anything similar to that. I pay for my own health care, I pay for my own education, and I don't call 911 (I exercise my second amendment rights just in case anything happens, not that its happened yet)

Also, since I cannot opt out of paying taxes, I'm being forced to pay for services I don't need, like the police

Because they don't preach as much as Muslims, and there are no Buddhist-only states

They do preach, just don't kill anybody or force to convert. That makes a huge difference!

Not in mass numbers like Muslims though
1780  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: September 27, 2014, 07:11:10 PM
Look. Let's say that you were hiking in the mountains when you came upon a hidden valley that nobody had ever visited before. And let's say that all over the floor of the hidden valley were nuggets of gold as big as your fist. What would you do? Would you grab a nugget or two and then set up a legal mining claim as fast as you could? Or would you start digging and panning, just hoping you could get a few specks of gold in your pan, when all around you there were the nuggets?

There's so many Muslims around that it is very easy to hate Islam. I mean, why go looking for some remote, hidden tribe in the jungles of South America so that you can hate their religion? Islam is easy to hate.

Smiley

And why people doesn't hate Hindus? Or Buddhists? They are pretty much as many as Muslims...

Because they don't preach as much as Muslims, and there are no Buddhist-only states
