To be honest I thought there would be more goals in this game, but a 1-1 draw is also a good result for Southampton... The kicking stats are small but almost identical for both teams... I don't know who played better or worse, but I'll assume Man U have played much worse at the end of season and if they don't fix the game they won't qualify for the Eurocups next season!
As mentioned before Manchester United are probably going to draw than win their matches. That is just how they play. It is strange with their players.
Just noticed today Donny van der beek is no longer on their roster and is on Everton, Must of been sent off  there when Dele Alli joined the club.
I was going for the draw this time and it did pay off.

Correct, it's been a mantra for United to take a lead and just when they are sending vibes of probably will win this one, they concede a goal.Good play from Saints as well to find an equaliser there.

I think Van de Beek joined before Delle Alli. His signing was confirmed before Lampard taking manager role at Everton was made official.

Manchester United game against Southampton is about to start and am hoping to see a solid performance and maximum points collected this time around because these guys start well and finish poorly...

Otherwise united has a good team this afternoon
Manchester United starting 11: De Gea, Dalot, Maguire, Varane, Shaw, McTominay, Pogba, Fernandes, Sancho, Rashford, Ronaldo Smiley

My bet is for United, who will repeat the same formation as when they drew with Burnley, but the difference now is that they put Ronaldo in Cavani's place.
The problem is that Cristiano Ronaldo, has gone five games without scoring, will he break his longest streak without scoring in 12 years, since 2010, when he played for Real?

It's hard to say that Ronaldo will score tonight. Yeah he is a world class striker but you gotta see that United are failing to make any kind of positive attack movement making it easy for Ronaldo to tuck the ball in the back of the net. You also gotta see that he is losing his touch, lot of easy misses ... I actually do hope he scores one.. it's been long goal drought for a player like him.

Here in Italy they are saying Kessie wants to stay in Italy so they are speculating about Juventus and Inter if he will leave Milan.

Kessie for sure is a good player but he demands 7m/y+taxes, and at his age for me is a pass.

7m/year? That's quite a demand  Cheesy. I've noticed that players that becomes a key player in AC Milan later on demand some high wages which Milan refuse to meet and player leaves. It was same in case of Donnarumma and same in case of Hakan and Milan were not willing to meet both the player demands. Franck Kessie now, Rafael Leao next?

Man Utd SHOULD beat Southampton because they spend far more money on players & pay much higher wages. As we all know though, football doesn’t work like that. Saints are in good form & Man Utd are in trouble. It seems lots of Man Utd players don’t work hard enough & put in too little effort. I really wouldn’t be surprised if Southampton win this one.

Yes, given the squad they have and the money they have spent they should be at least in top 4 by now but they are still at 6 but giving a performance like a team in bottom 5. Saints have the capability, players like Ward Prowse, Romeu, Armstrong who are in form and in other hand United have no one in form.  I also don't think they are working hard enough. I might watch this one if Rangnick pairs up Cavani and Ronaldo in this one, they link up pretty well and maybe that comes out as a solution for United.
1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 11, 2022, 08:23:37 PM
leipzig in recent matches looks very good and even in the match with Bayern, they played at the level, and very productively. In today's match, I also expect leipzig to be productive and score at least 2 goals. Cologne, on the contrary, has seen a decline in last matches, so I prefer Leipzig win in this match. I think that a good option for an express bet is the victory of Leipzig and the victory of PSG, the odds will be about 2.

Leipzig had a bad start at the starting of Bundesliga but now slowly catching up the pace and climbing slowly to the top 5 on the table. Christopher Nkunku is on a great form for them and have scored 11 goals and 7 assists and is top scorer for the team. Right now the score stands 1-0 as Leipzig opened the scoreline from free kick and so far seems pretty even. Leipzig had some good attacking moves but weren't able to capitalize properly into something as Koln's defense were alert. Let's see what changes in second half.

Manchester United will face Southampton. We know they (Manchester United) were held to a draw in their last game by Burnley, and that's disappointing, because they should have won that game. Now they will face Southampton who if we see they are better than Burnley. Southampton are in 10th place with 28 points. If Manchester United can't improve their performance, it's not impossible that they will lose.

The way Southampton played last game, I think it will be very difficult for United considering their recent performances. It will be real tough for them to hold Saints attack. Broja have been amazing for them ever since he came on loan and Ward-Prowse always is a danger man in mid who has deadly strike from long range. United are failing to score goals, their forwards somehow are missing their edge like they used to. At current stage, I think its tough one to call a winner here but I would take Saints here.

The final games of the round 24 have been played. Liverpool played home against Leicester and won the game by 2-0. And they definitely deserved this victory by dominating the game in both halves. Liverpool are performing so superbly that they can still dominate their competitors even when they lack their best players. And I was happy to see Arsenal winning the game too. Wolves is a really tough competitor for every team in this league. Arsenal had a big difficulty maybe but they still succeeded in beating Wolves by 1-0.

Liverpool's performance against Leicester was remarkable. I thought both teams would score in this match. Because Leicester's forward is good enough. And they are scoring goals regularly. But Liverpool's players did not give Leicester a chance to attack. If I'm not mistaken, then maybe Leicester has only 1 on target shot in the whole match. It looks like Liverpool are still trying to win the title, and if Manchester City lose point in any match, Liverpool will try to take the top spot.

Liverpool succeeded and putting constant pressure throughout the game and that was enough to get 3 points out of this heavy fixture in this gameweek. It was Schemeichel who saved lot of shots against Liverpool otherwise I am pretty sure that the scoreline would have been massive for Liverpool. Attack should have been better and should have put some pressure and keep the game balanced by scoring some goals. Signing of Luis Diaz is starting to show good signs so really working out well for Liverpool now.

A few hours ago Douglas Costa was officially signed by LA Galaxy on loan until the end of the season and a two-year contract plan after borrowing him for six months.
Actually I really like the game he showed but last season he couldn't do much until he had to be loaned to Gremio and even there he couldn't do much.
Douglas' performance declined drastically, especially after the Juventus jersey. I think moving to MLS could be better for Douglas than having his future unclear at

He is getting old and so he wasn't that much of use for Juventus. MLS should be good for Douglas Costa as lot of players who have gotten old have quite some success there. Take Nani, Zlatan, Rooney, Beckham...and more. Its a very good destination for old players to make a mark and prove that they still can perform. Douglas is a good player and I am not sure why they are not using him but hope he gets good amount of playing minute in MLS to prove himself.

Goal says that Antonio Rudiger has already got contract offers from Real Madrid and PSG to play for them as of the next season. And right after that, Chelsea have offered a new contract to him with the aim of convincing him to stay here. It is said that they have offered 200,000 pounds a week. This is a really nice offer I think. But I have no doubt that the other two teams have offered him better conditions than Chelsea. And I don't think that Chelsea will be able to keep him anymore.

https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/chelsea-offer-rudiger-200-000-a-week-demands-fears/blt843d03c7fe9bef38

It's hard for Chelsea to keep him. They have lot of contracts running out this year and most of them are defenders. It's hard to give them contract extensions keeping the financial limit in mind. With other teams interested in Rudiger, it's possible that other teams might give him a better offer and in that case I don't think Chelsea will be able to give him a better contract then.

They really should have thought about this earlier.

Did you notice how the players from both teams celebrate when they score? Yes, it's pretty much the same style and both teams take turns doing it. I didn't expect Ledds United to equalize after losing 3-1 to Aston Villa. But they were very lucky because the Aston Villa defender opened up a lot of space for them to score. Unfortunately, Coutinho's good performance in this match did not affect the team's performance to maintain the victory until the second half was over.

I believe that this final result was very unfair to Aston Villa, but they still have to settle for 1 point in a match they should have won. Gerrard did have to find a solution to change his team's performance for the better in the next match.

I think Villa should have defended against some of the goals and Leeds attacking moves were also good but I think some of the clearances and man marking should have been better from Villa. Villa were going so strong till one point but the mistakes really costed them.

Leeds did a great job especially keeping pressure on Villa's defense. Although Leeds have been performing poorly but I think they really did a great job yesterday.
1771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: February 10, 2022, 10:42:35 AM
Coutinho has had good time in Aston Villa so far but it is too soon to say that he really returns to his best form. For players like Coutinho, they mostly can not get back their their best performance before days they fell into troubles and lost their forms.

He had one of the great impact than any of the players who were bought in PL clubs. He is one of the finest not used properly by Barca and does wonders with other clubs. It's all about how you use the player and Aston Villa is using him very well. The vision the tough is top notch and I think he is surely filling the gap left after Grealish departure for Villa.

Gerrard is doing his management very well in Aston Villa and football is in amazing time when former team-mates now became coach and player in a same team. There is rumor that Rooney will take over the coach position in Manchester United. Will he become a coach of Cristiano Ronaldo?  Grin

Rooney to United? Hard to see honestly. Recently there were reports of him denying for Everton's position. First I think he doesn't wants to ditch Derby in the middle when they are having so many troubles. Secondly, I think United have more managers in the list so I don't think he is gonna be in top priority in United's list.
1772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 06, 2022, 06:35:50 PM
You might be right. Not sure if he is the kind player Guardiola would be looking for? One thing is for sure, there are English clubs that are able to pay him more than the salary Chelsea offered him. In Germany there is probably only Bayern and Dortmund, so you might be right and Spain could be his next destination.

I actually said that as players usually in order to show respect to the club opts to move to other league instead of teams in same league. Having won the CL with Chelsea, Rudiger simply doesn't falls to me as a guy who will just make a move to English club in PL. Spain, Paris , Italy, Germany...lot of options for him.

[...]If you win, the difference in points will be 6 points.

City hardly loses point but it's definitely is a golden chance. They can find another 3 points if they beat in game against them in April and maybe hope for some other team to force City drop some points but they also have to maintain a flawless run in order to keep City on toe in title race.
1774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: February 06, 2022, 04:58:36 PM
It's 3-1 now and I think Atletico have to pull themselves up a lot in order to win today. It's Barca dominating the game, although Atletico are also getting chances but they are not pressing as hard as Barcelona nor are they able to make anything good out of the attacking plays they are making. Maybe in second half things might change, but if things continue like this then I don't think Atletico are gonna win this.
Good game from Barcelona in the first half. Apart from dominating the game, they also scored 3 goals. This is not as usual because so far Barcelona have always struggled to score goals. Adama also managed to create an assist, it was a good start for him at Barcelona.

If Barcelona can play like this in the second half then I'm very sure they will score more goals, maybe 4-5 goals today. I am curious about Aubameyang's performance, hopefully he will be played soon.

Barcelona are facing a tough season with their injuries and all. It's tough for the manager to put a best team for the match when most of their star players are missing and that was happening in the previous matches. Bringing in players with potential was a great move. Today Traore was a real headache for Atletico's defense , Ferran Torres is a great striker with potential and has already represented two big teams in Europe till now, Aubameyang has a great pace too. I think that Barca is complete now. Just wonder when Fati also joins in ..

I hope Atletico Madrid win today. Barcelona haven't been very confident this season, although the same can be said of Atletico. I hope that Atletico will at least level the score in the second half. Maybe it will be something like yesterday's Milan game, when Milan got the win in the second half. In my opinion chances to win are the same.

It's 3-1 now and I think Atletico have to pull themselves up a lot in order to win today. Having scored the opener Atletico Madrid lost their one goal cushion quite quickly. Already into middle of the first half and this game has proved to be really entertaining so far. Barcelona are pushing really well as expected. Pace of Traore is troubling Atletico Madrid's defence so far... Will be quite sensational if he scores one. He already got one assist though.

^^Well it takes time to settle in and its just the beginning and yeah true that we can't judge him with play of 30 minutes but I still think it is great to see Liverpool considering to buy players and keep options available in the squad. City has big squad, Chelsea now does too and Liverpool are also on the same road.

Leicester one should be an interesting game too, Patson Daka is running hot for them.

Man, it's a good day to be a Liverpool fan.

Best scene of the day is our Elliot coming back from September injury -- amazing he's only needed 5 months to come back from such a horrific injury, and then to come on and score a brilliant goal? Then we have our new signing Diaz also come in to provide the assist.

Minamino scoring, Trent and Robbo assisting, Jota scoring, the only slight flaw was we didn't keep a clean sheet. But big win, and seeing so many people coming back from injury (Thiago, Keita). Lovely. Can't wait to see them resume the premiership battle against Leicester!

That's a brilliant news for Reds. Elliot has been sensational for Liverpool when he was starting in games. He has great potential to become a great player. Diaz is also another great signing. I gotta say here , that Liverpool has great eye for talent not only in getting new players but also bringing up some from their academy. No wonder they are strong team now, it is a combined efforts of the staff , board over the years that has made them strong.

Sevilla's game tonight against Osasuna makes me excited the most for today. Sevilla have seemed much better compared to the previous season so far. They are maintaining their claim for the La Liga title for this season. They are the second most deserving team right after Real Madrid. They are just looking for Real Madrid to make mistakes to be able to take advantage of them. Actually, they made a mistake last week against Elche but Sevilla also did the same. This time, I don't expect Sevilla to stumble.

Quite some changes for Sevilla in today's game against Osasuna, - Mir , Gomez, Rakitic sits out while their mega loan signing - Anthony Martial starts for them. Should be an easy one for Sevilla today. Sevilla are on a title contender race and dropping points here will drop a golden opportunity for them. I predict a 2-0 scoreline for Sevilla.

The reason why Sevilla are enjoying the second position is because both Atletico and Barcelona who are usual title contenders dropped lot of points in early stages and now slowly grabbing up the pace. There is still 16 rounds more to be played and that's enough to make a turn around.

Chelsea have offered defender Antonio Rudiger a new contract. According to the source, the "aristocrats" are willing to pay the German defender 200 thousand pounds a week.
Recall that now the athlete is paid 100 thousand. Despite such a generous offer, Rudiger decided to leave the team at the end of this season, when his contract ends.

https://www.readfootball.com/ryudiger-otvetil-na-novoe-predlozhenie-chelsi-248165.html

He must be quite certain that he can sign another and better contract elsewhere, otherwise I assume he wouldn't have turned down the offer, or?

That is 240,000 Euro per week, which is 12.5 million Euros per year. Could be possible that he goes to another English club? Or is Bayern Munich even involved?

There are lot of big teams which are in need of a good solid central defender and I think lot of those teams are keeping an eye on this situation. Reports were that Real Madrid are interested in Rudiger and they can give him a good offer as he seeks. Another English club? Possible but don't think so. Players usually respect the club so no chance of going into big-6. So either it's extension at Chelsea or move to New league in Spain, Germany..
