stuff

i do remember him saying somewhere he had a senior account, this was probably it. if someone could find that post to confirm that'd be great. looks like selene wasnt a hacked account then (maybe). maybe it was bought, idk.
1762  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed by selene on: July 19, 2015, 03:34:03 PM
Or the same person who was faruuhk in my other scam accusation?
had to search for that thread to refresh my memory, but yes, same person. hes been going around scamming petty amounts for the past week or so.
1763  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed by selene on: July 19, 2015, 03:22:09 PM
The user saying he wanted to help never did. I never received a reply from him/her.

well, there is a scam accusation against the user at the moment, and judging from a screenshot, cointerminator might be the scammer kralle.

Thank you all! I will most likely be using BC then. Sounds pretty safe and anonymous.
I will look into those other websites for another wallet.

blockchain used to be good, emphasis on used. recently, its been more or less to be unreliable with downtimes and vulnerabilities, i wouldnt recommend it.
1767  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can u get bitcoins? for free on: July 19, 2015, 01:14:44 PM
BitVisitor :: Earn Bitcoins for watching websites or videos. Every page is shown for five minutes. Then you can click 'Next' for confirmation and move on to the next page. What I like about this site is that payouts come within roughly an hour. This is a major advantage compared to other sites that pay Bitcoins for completing tasks. Also, you don't need an user account here, you just enter your Bitcoin address. The amount of Bitcoins you can earn here is limited though. Per five minutes you get something like µBTC 100 (that's 100 microcoins or BTC 0.00001) which means that your hourly payout is something like BTC 0.00012. That's not too much money but it is a start to make you first Satoshis and get familiar with Bitcoin. And note, payout per five minute period varies. So the above calculation only holds if the average payout per five minutes is µBTC 100.

imo those sites arent really "free," you invest so much time for so little reward that its not really worth it.  for example, you claim that there is a potential 0.00012 reward from the site hourly. i get more than 10x that amount from one post on a signature campaign. even for a newbie, 2 or 3 posts will net them the same amount or more on a signature campaign. if you ask me, i think this forum is the best place for relatively free bitcoin.
1768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebay Forbids Bitcoin for Payments on: July 19, 2015, 12:57:49 PM
No surprise for me
Even paypal doesn't accept bitcoin
Oh well, i heard that amazon is studying Bitcoin so they can accept it in the future
Let's keep our hopes up  Wink
Haha, is that surprise for you? Bitcoin is a direct competitor of PayPal, its nemesis and enemy. If Bitcoin will grow and people would start to using it widely PayPal lose everything.
Why would you use PayPal with its stupid fees and rules when Bitcoin is free, no fee, global and fast payment method? It is just a matter of time when PayPal will be pressed by Bitcoin or other digital currency.
They want to retaliate before it even happens thus this campaign of hate towards bitcoin from PayPal, Visa or Mastercard and now eBay.

bitcoin is a major competitor to every major payment processing platform really, paypal and credit card companies especially. CC companies have significantly higher tx fees than bitcoin transactions in comparison, and should bitcoin become more mainstream, CC companies would lose their customers.
1769  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cost of Bitcointalk Accounts. on: July 19, 2015, 12:52:51 PM
any cost for bitcointalk account, what for, my bro?

for earning bitcoin from signature campaigns (mostly, anyway). which rate per post increases as your rank increases.

the price of the accounts also depends (slightly) on how much these signature campaigns are paying out.
Well personally I wouldn't buy one account if it was not for the signature campagins.

well of course, accounts have value because the signature campaigns exist, but i was saying that the price of accounts on the market slightly depend on the payouts of the currently running signature campaigns. if a campaign with double the current average payouts were to suddenly appear, accounts would rise in price a percentage, but it would also depend on other factors, such as the availability of certain rank accounts on the market, the enrollement capacity of the hypothetical campaign, and anything else i havent mentioned.

none of that info is visible to the public, when you send a transaction all that is visible on the blockchain is the address you sent coins to, the addresses of the output of the coins sent, and the amount sent. no personal information is ever required to transact coins.
I'm confused. When people talk about the "address", is that the random identifier like
1415RPuMbBkagyAnC9mv3v3aZiHpTiFHar   (random address I just picked from live public transactions)
Or is it the IP address? If its the IP, where is that information available? I cannot see it in a transactions page:
https://blockchain.info/address/1BrpVMvvXRxz51WtaKg4toMTmBPWEHV7BE

no, that address 1415RPuMbBkagyAnC9mv3v3aZiHpTiFHar is the address that is displayed to the network. ie, if a "bob" owned that address, i would send coins to 1415RPuMbBkagyAnC9mv3v3aZiHpTiFHar if i wanted to send money to a hypothetical "bob."

the blockchain doesnt track or record ip addresses, except the ip of the node that relayed the transaction. again, tracking the ip form where a transaction originated would take immense amounts of effort from an attacker.
Ok. So its the receiving Bitcoin address like XfDfg455...
Trying to understand: Why would a person want to hide their Bitcoin address? Since there is no personal information attached with the transaction.

And I can always get a new address, correct? When I make a new wallet. On Blockchain.info there's a button for "New Address". I made another one and it is listed there now.
I could have one address for this transaction and I can create other addresses for a later transaction to a different recipient. So the two transactions cannot be linked, correct?
Just trying to understand why people would want to hide their address.

I just want to confirm that even the recipient can not know my real name, home address, phone number etc, right?

most wallets alow you to generate as many addresses as you want or need. i dont know how blockchain.info's wallet works, but be aware that you might not be able to choose which addresses will be included in the output for the transaction. and no, for the final time, your personal information is not linked to your bitcoin address. last time i checked there wasnt a magic read-all-your-personal-info-and-tell-it-to-the-world scanner in my wallet software.

That's the good thing about bitcoin , your name , email and stuff can't be revealed on a transaction with Bitcoin , only your adress can be .
Still you can use a VPN just in case , and also use https://bitmixer.io/index.html Receipt will stil lbe able to trace your adress but it would be much harder . Use it only if you did share that adress on websites / forums etc ... so it cannot be linked back to you . if the adress is fresh then you are good to go .

a VPN is a virtual private network, youre thinking of a bitcoin mixer/bitcoin tumbler. a mixer/tumbler will, as the name implies, "mix" your coins with others for a small % fee, and will make your coins much, much harder to trade back to your sending address.

I know what is a Mixer and I know what is a VPN man Shocked look what I wrote "use VPN just in case , and also use bitmixer .."  , what I meant is that he should use VPN just in case people can trace his IP on the Blockchain or something because I heard that it's possible . and having his IP may get people to his name , email and other informations

oh my bad, its early in the morning and i misread that. but yes, its possible, with a lot of effort, for someone to trace your ip from a bitcoin transaction. however, for an attacker to find your ip address should take immense surveillance of the network and effort on their part.

if you want to take it a step up from a vpn consider using TAILS for your bitcoin related activity.

well i need something to do these next few weeks, and id be willing to learn whatever language is needed to code developments for the site if it comes down to it. if you deem me "trustable" enough feel free to shoot me a pm with some details on what you need.
1775  Economy / Gambling / Re: What are the dice sites with the lowest house edge? on: July 19, 2015, 12:19:15 PM
I have seen quantum dice has 0.01 house edge  Tongue

i think that edge is a temporary promotion, dont know when its supposed to end though. correct me if im wrong on that first part, not 100% sure.

yep i think the same, 0.01% house quantum dice just for limited time.
not sure how much their default house actually.
0.01% house edge seems like just exaggerate promotion.
try to never fall into that.

i honestly think the lowered edge matters too much, from what i see in this section most of the dice players just use martingale, and that method is bound to bust eventually if the player doesnt cash out. the lowered house edge is darn good at attracting players though. id like to see the statistics of the site for net profit after the promotion is over, would be interesting to see how close/far the result is from a 0.01% edge.

I have to send money to someone using BitCoin and I want to remain fully anonymous to the recipient and to the public.

I have read a little about this subject and I've read that all transactions are public. So my questions are:

1. What information can be known to (1) the recipient, and to (2) the public?

2. I do not want my real name, address, email or phone number known to anyone (recipient and the public).
I am fine with anyone knowing the amount of the transaction.

So how can I stay as anonymous as possible? I want to jump through as little hoops as possible.

none of that info is visible to the public, when you send a transaction all that is visible on the blockchain is the address you sent coins to, the addresses of the output of the coins sent, and the amount sent. no personal information is ever required to transact coins.
1778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebay Forbids Bitcoin for Payments on: July 19, 2015, 12:05:42 PM
i think they will come around eventually, but it needs much longer time and a lot more mass adoption. now it is simply not enough people showing interest in using bitcoin in comparison to people wanting to use paypal and similar services.
on the other hand they want to secure their earnings via paypal and don't lose their step there.

exactly, when bitcoin becomes more mainstream, ebay, as a major company, will be pressed to start integrating bitcoin into their payment options. no telling when bitcoin will be adopted widely enough to convince ebay to hop on though.
1779  Economy / Gambling / Re: How much more would you gamble if you found a provably fair EV+ casino? on: July 19, 2015, 11:34:35 AM
A billionaire decides to waste some money and creates a provably fair EV+ casino.
Don't liken this to investing in the house of a dice site, as you don't have as much security as you get, with the maximum winnnings and that sort of things.
How much would you gamble in this hypothetical EV+ casino?

well i had a run in with something along those lines not too long ago with a certain casino and its rude owners with questionable intelligence, but had i chosen to exploit their error, i wouldve invested a lot (i really mean a lot) of bankroll into making the most of the +EV opportunity, as i would in this hypothetical situation you presented. id say in the ballpark of 80% of whatever coin i may be holding at the time would go into making use of that +EV.
1780  Economy / Lending / Re: loan 0.215btc on: July 19, 2015, 11:26:23 AM
You registered 6 days ago and by that time, you should've already read the sticky threads about no collateral no loan policy. Do a back read and if you have a valid collateral to offer for your request, I will remove the trust rating.

same with me, and im inclined to think not many of the newbies even bother to read the sticky; they just see "lending" and assume everyone here are happy go lucky people who throw money at people who ask.
