1761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do poker and sports betting skills correlate? on: August 20, 2021, 05:51:38 AM
I answer you with respect to what I know about poker. If you are a regular poker player it makes no sense to cut losing streaks simply because you are losing. Winning players have short term losing streaks, but if you keep playing without losing affecting you emotionally, you will get on a winning streak again sooner. It is better to schedule one or two hour playing sessions, for example, and play that long regardless of whether you win or lose.

It's key that it doesn't affect you emotionally. Experienced players are not usually affected but you can always have a bad day. At that moment it is better to leave the table and come back another day when you are fresher.
Yes, that's true.
One of my good habits is that. Some call it a superstition belief but it's a tactic or telling yourself you can control your emotion.
When I feel like I have a bad day I don't give up but I try to rest it a bit. Go back a couple of hours and try again.
If the same thing keeps on happening then put it to a long rest and sleep it through.

About OP's question. I am a fan of sports gambling and also play poker on weekends before. I can tell you it's a lot different because updates in sports are moving unlike the stagnant rule in poker, it's just the people you are playing with that change but the cards are the same.
1762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 19, 2021, 02:54:54 PM
On the one hand, it is good that Twitch cares about its users and tries to protect them from inappropriate content and fraud, but on the other hand, this total concern has led to the fact that streamers are afraid to say the "forbidden" word and are generally very limited in their actions. All of this reminds me of censorship. I don’t understand why adults cannot set the limits of what is acceptable for themselves and Twitch intervenes here?
As for the new rules, I do not think that they will affect the gaming industry - traffic from Twitch to gaming sites is negligible.
Totally agree. I think it's not just for my kids but for others too, just like I said once in this thread.
Twitch as defined was a live streaming gaming platform and not for gambling platform. Perhaps they could find a way to make another website to separate it and still give chance to people who want to share their experiences live while they are gambling.

I am not against both but they have recently become one of the popular platforms ever since the gaming industry starts to explode and most of their viewers are teens. At that age, they don't like their smartphones being checked by their parents anymore.
Who will stop them? I think Twitch being this responsible is a good sign.
1763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kid already making $32k monthly through ethtereum on: August 19, 2021, 11:44:16 AM
If your parents will be that cool then yes, it is possible.
Imagine them having a high-end computer without knowing where it came from. I doubt they invented it.

It's cool to see kids being aware already of something new, unlike traditional parents who will force you to learn the old-school ways of making money.
Finish school and get a day job. I hope I will also be that cool to my kids someday.  Cheesy
1764  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC approaches resistance on: August 19, 2021, 04:51:26 AM
Bitcoin is now expected to make a minor pull back maybe around $41,000 to $43,000 because there were reports that some countries has been facing a regulatory crack down.
This could actually interrupt Bitcoin's current upward momentum run, and it's currently happening now as Bitcoin is now trading around $44,000 down 2% from the last 48 hrs.
However, I'm quite optimistic Bitcoin will bounce back quickly after this short pull back, maybe before August ends.
I thought it was going to be a smooth path but no, $50k is a brick wall that had been created with top products.
August seems to be an impossible month for it but I do believe it can before the year-end.
Ber months for most countries is when they find more money coming from their employers so I believe it is still reachable once small investors come in.
This new hack could be one of the reasons behind the recent dump.

1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 19, 2021, 03:03:43 AM
but PatBev doesn't have that talent at all, once upon a time he was a great defensive player but nowadays he is not even that anymore.

I disagree with that, if you see his contribution in the playoffs, you might change your statement. I believe the talent is there, in fact, I'm impressed with his defensive skills but the only problem is his attitude as he anymore playing based on the rules of the game, he lose the sportsmanship and he was just too arrogant to think that he can guard and possibly hurt anyone.
Yes. He is one of the best in terms of defensive awareness and let us not take that away from him.
Some people are just looking at the ill attitude that he showed against CP3 when he lost his temper but that's emotion overflowing when you want the championship so bad.
I have been on that same feeling that's why I can't relate.
He doesn't mean any harm but CP3 also had a contribution on why it happened because of how he looked down on Pat at that moment.
Skill-wise? Pat Beverley is good with leadership as a bonus. Anyway, T'Wolves is a young team and might need a veteran so it's a good deal.
1766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 18, 2021, 01:14:42 PM
Beverley moving again.
Grizzlies traded him to the Timberwolves.

The Memphis Grizzlies are trading Patrick Beverley to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez, sources tell ESPN.
Some say T'wolves decision is a bad one but I disagree again. (Pat didn't feed me anything, don't worry.) I just like Pat for whatever team he drops in, they will be a playoff contender and better WCF. His defensive style is contagious and some players need that to boost their morale even on a losing game.
We will see if they really made a bad trade here, or it could be proved wrong.
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What lie did you tell? on: August 18, 2021, 06:25:24 AM
Old school story and gambling ways. That's a nice story and I believe you, not the lie though.   Cheesy
I can relate. Stole a couple of dollars from my Aunt in his bag and try to double it with gambling. When I got home, I knew something bad is going to happen.
Heads down, don't look up or you will see it in their eyes like you are a suspect of a crime in the streets.
When you are a kid, it's difficult to make them believe what you will say. Of course, that's because they know you or your habits will show when lying.
1768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 18, 2021, 02:36:34 AM
Tuesday October 19th! The start of the new season. Buck, Warriors, Nets, & Lakers all set to kick off the season with a bang on day 1. I know I can’t wait to see Carmelo and LeBron play together as well as seeing Steph and Klay together again. It will be a big day for sure. I can’t wait. Bitcoin should be creating some of it’s own excitement by then also on the way to $100K+.
Ooohh, that last statement was an explosive end.  Grin Fingers crossed.
So long story short we have ourselves a role player money here, Marcus smart got money that he truly deserved, he was a 77 million in 4 years type of guy and he got that, every role player that is 6th or 7th man gets that kind of cash these days unless you are Nets and you are out of money after 3 stars Cheesy.
He truly deserves it as one of the faces of the Celtics roster.
I think they will be going for long-term on Marcus Smart.
He is 27 now and will be 31 years old when he finishes this new 4-year contract. That's still a young age for an NBA player and that could even be the prime of his career if injury won't hit him. Having an experienced guy that is as wise as him will be an enormous kick for the young guns of the Green jersey team.
1769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria to launch its crypto currency after crypto ban on: August 18, 2021, 01:05:25 AM
Ban and create new. Yes, sounds like China.
They all want a centralized token and that's for tracking everything so that the people can't keep huge funds and increase the demands.
Sure it will be 1:1 but you will not escape payments even for a mere parking ticket if they can control your money.
The government won't even need your authorization and they could just take the money from your wallet or worse, freeze them until you pay the tickets.
It's not really different from the banks, it's just improved.
1770  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin August 2021 Target? on: August 17, 2021, 02:59:18 PM
If you look at the graph of the bitcoin price increase, it's likely that the bitcoin price will reach $50k. Price predictions are for informational purposes only and are not absolute analysis. The investment decision is in our hands. Therefore, please be wise in trading cryptocurrencies.
If it breaks through the target price then it's a good sign.
August is a good month and it could've brought back the optimistic view of small investors.
That's when a hack happened thru the DeFi platform which was linked thru different blockchains like BSC and ERC20.
Bitcoin was not there and it's a big deal for me. It's proof that a Bitcoin attack will be a difficult thing to do and it had been years without any bad issues.
Trust and security could lift the value of anything, especially in the financial industry.
1771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 17, 2021, 11:20:57 AM
Marcus Smart has found an economic agreement with the Boston Celtics to continue his adventure in Massachusetts. The guard has signed a four-year extension worth $77.1 million in total, a contract fully guaranteed for its entire duration.
He'll stay in Boston along with stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to try to bring the Celtics back to the top of the Eastern Conference. IMO, his defensive approach and grit shown in NBA have made him one of the favorite players of Celtics fans who'll be happy to see him in green until 2026.
Wow. $77 million and is not even branded as one of the great players in the league.
It's like an appreciative contract because of his leadership whenever they play. For me, he is like the Draymond Green of the Celtics team.
That's a good comparison, right? Both rely on hard work on the defensive side and it had been effective.
This is a good deal and I think both ends win. Marcus Smart is happy and so are the Celtics fans and management.
1772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 17, 2021, 03:33:09 AM
Haters lol. There's no inventor of it. Flopping is effective and many players are doing that.

And who's to blame why flopping is effective? Lebron? Players? No.

You should blame the referees. Flopping will not work if refs can see it clearly. Refs are the worst today, not players. They even make the league soft so you won't see any hard defense now.
It's the league management first before the refs.  Grin
Refs are just following orders. If the league is letting the flops slide with just $5000 of fine then refs will somehow bite with players acting like they are Hollywood.
I think this was exaggerated or got worse when Shaq was dominating the paint.
They need a call for an offensive foul because no one can stop him so they use the acting style to sell it to the referees.
Maybe Charles invented it.  Cheesy
1773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the possible outcomes if you join on a Gambling sites or in Casino on: August 16, 2021, 03:10:23 PM
Is this about addiction or just about the experience?

If you win, you don't get rich if you just bet for $10 unless you are the super luckiest guy in the world putting it in a parlay.
Percentage-wise? .0001 percent.
If you lose. Now, this is bad. Either you scream your lungs out to your family or you end up hurting them and worst-case scenario, kill them.
Outcomes are not easy to predict especially if you are relying on luck. That's bad decision-making.
But if you rely on analysis, you have a higher percentage of going home with a smile.
1774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 16, 2021, 02:10:28 PM
I don't agree with the Beverley trade. He may have done some wrong choices but that his emotion showing what is real.
I am against those who are hiding in the closet portraying they are good when media is around but never when they are alone or with their family.
Beverley being mad at CP3 is him, he doesn't care about the camera, he is upset and being competitive, so what. That's a real player for me.

Trading him is a different discussion and his acts should not be considered with it.
Defense. He is one of the top guarding point/shooting guards and even Lebron James being stopped from his shooting motions with a clean slap.
Well, I guess Grizzlies just acquired a good defensive player in their roster.

Oh and I forgot. How is a Bledsoe trade better than keeping him? Bucks just made a championship because Bledsoe was traded.
1775  Economy / Speculation / Re: No BTC Holding is risky on: August 15, 2021, 01:12:08 PM
Thanks for the reminder.
I just recently talked about it with my friend. I always tell him it's the less risky method of investing right now than going for altcoins.
He is still having a hard time believing me because he doesn't see Bitcoin a lot with hypes. Dogs and NFT are mostly what he follows.
I think I will share that phrase with him and see if it would help a little to pursue him to consider instead of risking his money to an unknown future of other coins.
1776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 15, 2021, 09:05:54 AM
It is a good thing. Twitch is making a big impact on young gamers and they just want to clean it up.
It's not about taking away jobs from people but more about protecting the minds of the younger people to avoid bad habits when they grow up.
In the gambling industry, this will have a bad and good effect.
Good - it will take away the doubts of gamblers from betting sites sponsoring these players/vloggers with fake reactions when they win the game.
Bad - more in the financial side.
1777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a new blockchain that will compete with Ethereum? on: August 15, 2021, 07:03:14 AM
If it's for creating projects, Ethereum it is. You cannot deny the fact of how every developer had their chance thanks to smart contracts.
For transaction purposes only, you could try BNB. Cheaper and faster.
But, there's always the but's, you might want to keep those Ethereum in your wallets.
The big train is coming and you don't want to be left out, your ticket is your Ethereum and it's going to be a long ride once they clean everything up.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 15, 2021, 03:34:37 AM
Lance will hold a workout in these hours in Las Vegas where several NBA teams will be present. The goal is to convince them to give him a chance. Representatives from the Bucks, Nuggets, Sixers and Nets are expected to attend.
I guess he would be happy even if any of these four teams offer him a one-year contract with a minimum salary. By the way, it's worth noting that the Nuggets were already interested in Stephenson when Murray was injured last spring. So I wouldn't be surprised if we see him in Nuggets uniform next season.

He has the talent to play in the NBA without a doubt. He just has some mental issues that can really cost his team at times. Basketball really is a sport you need to be aware of what’s going on at all times and similar to JR Smith (who is going back to college to play golf) Lance has at times shown to not fully have that awareness.
Haha  Grin He's playing in China if I am not mistaken. They need clowns there but NBA has no place for the likes of him.
I mean yeah, he is good but there is a bit of a problem with how he defines "play". I think he is confused with kids' playtime and adults' playtime.
He will just be a stress for the coaches and they don't like mistakes that leads to losing the game. A lot of money is at stake being paid for players to entertain and win not fool around.

Good news for Giannis, he's brother helped him a lot verbally during his injury time. Moral support and some bench help.
1779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can anything make you stop gambling on: August 14, 2021, 12:03:04 PM
Your losses will surely stop you from gambling.
But don't let it go beyond you cannot feed yourself anymore from putting everything in your gambling addiction.
Sure, it's fun and I don't blame you for the joy it could bring but there should always be limits on how much you will spend on it.
Just like how you buy your own clothing or everyday food, a budget is being set so you won't feel the guilt of spending too much for low quality.
Use that in gambling too, set a budget, and once it's used up take a rest.
1780  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin faces strong resistance to reach $50k? on: August 14, 2021, 07:32:55 AM
Green lights are showing. We may have to fasten our seatbelts because this will going up so fast.  Grin
$50k without Elon Musk! Yey! It's already at $47k and I think it could break the resistance. It broke 45k already so there is no reason it should stop now.
FUD will stay but they should never stop because this happens whenever they take their rest.
The hacking incident might have contributed to this recent hike.
