1781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK on: August 22, 2022, 04:22:43 AM

Sounded like the fight is on already when Usyk calls Tyson after his AJ fight. And then right after it, Fury also criticized both AJ and Usyk for being sh**.

Heavy guys like them are pretty much slow but Usyk is a lot faster and can work in volume than Fury though, which I think will be the characteristic that will make him winner against Tyson.

It's hard to see who will have the upperhand as far as the hand speed because both are very agile and too quick hands for a heavyweight. But I would say that natural and bigger HW will have the advantage and that is Fury. Remember that Usyk is a natural CW and that is why he seems to be very "light" for a HW boxer. But Fury is a freak of nature, at his height and weight, he is naturally gifted boxer and had a power in both hands.

So for me, maybe Usyk can stay with Fury early, but Fury can match his speed and will eventually caught Usyk a couple of times for a decision win.

1783  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why there is so much resistance at $23k price on: August 21, 2022, 01:04:03 AM
I see the current dip as a temporary setback for Bitcoin price and if fed members are blamed for the present price conditions that are dragging the price down to 20k then a lot should be expected in the coming days and weeks ahead. Because the economic harhsness will last for a while and assets like Bitcoin will be the worst heated in this period.
Sometimes people see dip market of cryptocurrencies as something that brings setback in cryptocurrency but from me, i see such that thing like correction of the market price, because after Bitcoin or cryptocurrency undergoes the change in the market another thing that occurs in cryptocurrency is that, the bullish market. So what ever that happens during the time of bullish market is the correction
^ I don't think why people worry when there is a short correction happen, other people will probably be happy because they know that there is a chance for them to invest while the market has a correction. When BTC is pumped, it is expected that BTC will have a correction after a week or months.
If you notice, the BTC price was now in a zigzag position upon movement, who knows after this correction, it will pump again and it could be broken into another ATH. Purchase BTC in the DCA way was common advice by the experts and the safest method for reinvesting in a long term.

Yes, we can't stress that enough, do DCA and you will be good in the long run. But the problem is that there could be set of investors that are newbies or just panic when the price goes down like what we seen in the last couple of days.

The good thing is that we buyers are going to take advantage of that situation again, $20k-$21k is still very good price. It doesn't mean that it should be 1 btc because that is too expensive for us casual investors and average joe. Just buy what we can afford thru DCA.
1784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: August 21, 2022, 12:21:15 AM
What is happening to AJ? Has he lost his drive, his motivation, his hunger? I mean, because I do not understand what's been going on with this champ. Has he made so much money that his heart in no longer in the sport? Totally appalled and embarrassed with his performance in the ring. The AJ I watched today stands no fighting chance against Fury and Wilder.

Yeah I agree there's so much hesitation on his part he is very tentative he just waited and waited for Usyk to come in and he is in a defensive mode, I thought he'll going to do another performance as he did with Ruiz, but it seems its a continuation on where both fighters left off, now the boxing community will take Usyk seriously and might pit him against Fury or Wilder.

It's because he will be vulnerable to Usyk's counter that's why he didn't engaged him early and chooses to be in the defensive mode which we obviously see as not that effective because he can't win rounds by that performance.

Usyk could be the greatest heavyweight boxer of this generation after all, and I wonder what's next for Joshua.

Still up for debate, if he beats Wilder and then win against Fury, then yeah, probably he will be considered the greatest of this generation. But so far the title is being held by the retired Tyson Fury.
1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Meme coins going to make it to the next bull market? on: August 20, 2022, 02:58:43 AM
The only gauge that we have right now is Doge, because it has been in the market for many years as meme coin. It's just that when Elon Musk takes interest on it, suddenly Doge blossom and balloon in prices and we have seen hundreds of meme coins followed including Shiba.

So maybe it's safe to say that Doge will still be the last meme coin standing in this bearish market, survived and then ran again in the next bullish phase. As for others, they could die for not having the support of community because majority of them is just for p&d.
1786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 20, 2022, 02:35:22 AM
A good strategy that will convert to a win. Ancajas can regain that title and be a champion again. Also, a good opportunity for the promoters if, in case Ancajas win, they can immediately call for another rematch/trilogy to decide who's really the one who deserves to keep the belt. It's a must for Ancajas or else he will be forgotten, as there are many competitive young fighters who can challenge Martinez if Ancajas failed his attempt to win back his belt.

The other scenario here if Ancajas wins other than the trilogy is that Martinez would go back to his original division and continue depending his belt while Ancajas would go on fighting Ioka which was the original plan of MP Promotions and might also be a chance to avenge the loss of Nietes in the hands of Ioka which for me, Ancajas has the better chance of winning than this fight.

That will be a big fight as Ioka has recently beat his arch nemesis, another Filipino in Nietes. I agree that Ancajas has a better shot since he is still very young as compare that time to Nietes who is already over the hill at 40 years old.

But as what we want to see, Ancajas should win first and dominate Martinez. He was a huge underdog in the first fight that we thought it is easy path for Ancajas. However, Ancajas demanded a rematch so here we are and hopefully this time, Ancajas will win and I wanted to see a knock out win for him.
1787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 20, 2022, 02:15:09 AM
I guess LeBron can break Kareem's record this upcoming season anyway, as he only needs to score 1,326 points to break it. So if LeBron can score an average of 30 points per game and doesn't miss any games due to injury, he will be able to break that record by the 44th game of the upcoming season. In that case, it will happen on January 16 during the home game against the Rockets.

Yes, that is a realistic thing to achieve next season by Lebron James. Of course, the only thing that will prevent that from happening is being sidelined for more games because of common reasons such as injuries. LBJ also not showing any big signs of slowing down yet that's why achieving 1,326 points should not be that hard for him to reach this season.

Say all the hate to him but being the Top 1 NBA All-Time Points Leader is an insane record that is hard to achieve. There's no player right now that might be closed on doing that in the next 5 years or even a decade.

Yeah, we forgot about that as well as we focus on him solely being competitive in the next 2 years to be able to play with his son on the league.

But the effect on it, being healthy next season, it doesn't matter when he is going to break it, what matters is how many he. can play this season and be able to sustain it throughout. If he can't beat the record this season, fine, there is the next and for sure it's just a matter of time before he can break that once untouchable record of Kareem. Just like when Russell Westbrook broke the big O record when we thought no one can touch it.
1788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A cryptocurrency that lets you shop everywhere online without any fees? on: August 19, 2022, 03:17:23 AM
I am curious if there is an altcoin/crypto that lets you shop everywhere online WITHOUT any exchange or network or transaction fees?

Things like restaurant deliveries, groceries, Amazon orders, travel,...anything...

As someone pointed out, it's Nano, but the thing is, not every online store that accepts crypto includes it, so that is the catch.

So you might not take advantage of it, but rely on what coins are being mostly supported like BTC, ETH and others. I know your frustrations, but we all know the crypto or the project itself needs some incentives to keep it going, miners, validators etc etc. So think about it that you are giving it back to them when you pay fees, (including the 3rd party provider).
1789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RUIZ VS ORTIZ SUN, SEP 04, 2022 10PM ET EASTERN TIME/ on: August 19, 2022, 01:12:43 AM
I read that Wilder is on the side of Ortiz on this fight.

He said that he is very determined and motivated and have the skills to beat Ruiz.

Quote
“My money and heart are on Ortiz,” said Wilder. “It's unfortunate that he's had lesser opportunities. He has the skill, hard work, and heart. He's determined and motivated. Fighting him twice, we have built a brotherhood and very strong relationship with each other. It's amazing what boxing can do. They can make you enemies or make you love each other. I'm always going to root for him, but I'm also a realist. I do see Ortiz winning this fight in a devastating fashion, and controlling the fight. A lot of people look at his age, but age only defines a person so far ... I'm looking forward to seeing him do great things. If he continues to do great things, we might see Ortiz vs. Wilder III. So let’s go, Luis. I don't think anyone would deny that.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/wilder-picks-usyk-beat-joshua-ortiz-best-ruiz-devastating-fashion--168415

So they remain friends after 2 fights, good to hear, and maybe that's why he is on the bandwagon. And it's good though, Ortiz is the underdog here, so if Wilder or others beat on him, for sure the payout will be big.
1790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: August 19, 2022, 12:21:35 AM
^^ Yes, this is also my point, boxing politics, it just frustrate us boxing fans that this managers and promoters are not giving us the fight that we wanted to see, because after all boxing is business and these people wanted more money, like Bob Arum's style of having fights in-house so that all money will be his and his boxers. So this is going to huge if the fight are going to be made in the future, specially if both of them remain unbeaten and still both champions.

These are promoters' cash cows and they don't want to kill their cash cow so they cherry-picked opponents for their favorite champion, Crawford made the right decision getting out of Bob Arum he cannot give him legacy fights like the one he is working for against his arch-rival Spence, boxers like Canelo who is a free agent is getting the good fights that he wants because he gets rid of these kinds of promoters.

That's already natural in this industry because promoters will try and tease the people first to make some hype before making the fight to reality, along the way the promoters will let their boxers defeat all possible foes first that they think won't stand a chance for their boxers. And for Crawford's case, let's not forget that Bob is also an important factor in why he reached the position he had now but Crawford's mistake is that he waited long enough before he leaves Bob even though he already knows that Bob doesn't care for his legacy.

That has been the strategy of Bob Arum over the years. He focuses mostly on how to make money from the boxers that he handles. However, we shouldn't unlike or hate him for that because he also does his part for boxers to create and establish a good career and name in the industry. It's just quite unfair for boxers who are being used and dragged down just to raise the career of their boxers.

That is a part of the game, if they don't want to be used as an additional trophy in other boxers then they should improve their performance so that they will be the ones who will be using other boxers rather than being used. Makes sense, right?
We may hate Bob Arum for his tricks that might be unfair for his own boxers but he is good at making money while his boxers are also takes some benefit of that style. Truth is that Arum has made plenty boxers to be a big name in the industry and we can't deny that.

As what we have been saying all along this years, boxing is already a business. Unlike before when we also have a couple of boxer promoters. Now we have a lot, Eddie Hearn started to make himself a name, he used to be just on the British side of boxing, but now he is stateside So there are a lot of competitions that promoters like Bob Arum and even Oscar build their boxers through cherry picking a fight and make it all for the house money.
1791  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Either Bitcoin will end or we will be at the peak of inflation on: August 18, 2022, 06:43:15 AM
Too big to fall now, I mean bitcoin has been in existence for more than a decade now and yet even if we have the worst economic disaster like the effect of Covid-19 globally and then the war in EU, still reaches new all time high in November 2021. Then the bubble has been burst and we are in the bear market. Nevertheless, we will rebound again in 2024 and the bullish cycle starts. So it will not be the end, but we will continue to grow in the future.
1792  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why there is so much resistance at $23k price on: August 18, 2022, 02:04:27 AM
Shouldn't it be $25k? We're presently at $23k and we even moved up to $24k afaik. If you're saying that it's because we went back to $23k, then it's just that, it failed the check at $25k so it dropped down. Wouldn't really consider it to be that big imo, its something that often happens anyway. Not to mention that we've only been around a month in ever since Bitcoin dipped to the $20k levels from above $30k. Wouldn't really expect (nor want) a big pump all of a sudden.

Maybe the OP didn't see the latest price movement and just check the current price as we have now on the $23k'ish. But recently we have a lot of movement, even getting as high as $25k, but it just dropped down.

$25-$30k is the big resistance for us. We've seen that if the price reaches $25k-$28k then we might see another sort of mini bull run in the last week of this month or enter the 'ber months.
1793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 18, 2022, 01:37:05 AM
We have seen the updates already, although not official, but it is a reliable and good source as where the negotiations is heading. It not Terrence Crawford that is trying to 'hard to get', in my opinion it is Spence, because he has 3 belts and he believed he is the A-side, between the two. And all have been speculating that the money split is 60-40 in favor of Spence, and Crawford is ok with that 40. But then again, we might never know that real split until the fight is made, and the numbers goes public.

As far as the previous article I posted here, it was stated that the public will not know the exact details of the split.

I don't know why or any reason why they won't disclose it to the public but regardless, then so be it.

What matter is that we will now see Spence and Crawford facing each other in the ring officially and not just in papers.

Yes, numbers are not usually released in public unless some insider released the number itself. They are not releasing it for confidentially for this fighter.

So we could speculate as what will be the split, maybe it could be in favor of Spence. But I agree that this fight should be made, although there are new updates, we as boxing fans are waiting for the official release.
1794  Other / Beginners & Help / Mailchimp was hacked again, exposing DigitalOcean customer's email on: August 17, 2022, 09:01:49 AM
Mailchimp again was hacked, exposing DigitalOcean customer's email address,

Quote
At Mailchimp, the security of our users’ data is our top priority.

Across the tech industry, malicious actors are increasingly deploying an array of sophisticated phishing and social engineering tactics targeting data and information from crypto-related companies. In response to a recent attack targeting Mailchimp’s crypto-related users, we’ve taken proactive measures to temporarily suspend account access for accounts where we detected suspicious activity while we investigate the incident further. We took this action to protect our users’ data, and then acted quickly to notify all primary contacts of impacted accounts and implement an additional set of enhanced security measures. We did not suspend accounts based on their industry, and we are committed to continuing to serve crypto companies. We are reviewing our Standard Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy in light of our commitment to bringing innovative crypto solutions to our customers.

We realize this may have caused uncertainty for our crypto-related users and their customers and apologize for the disruption. We are continuing our investigation and proactively providing impacted users with timely and accurate information throughout the process.

https://mailchimp.com/august-2022-security-incident/

And as per DigitalOcean,

Quote
- On August 8th, DigitalOcean discovered that our Mailchimp account had been compromised as part of what we suspect to be a wider Mailchimp security incident that affected their customers, targeted at crypto and blockchain.
- From that Mailchimp incident, we suspect certain DigitalOcean customer email addresses may have been exposed. Out of an abundance of caution, we are currently sending email communications to those impacted.
-  A very small number of DigitalOcean customers experienced attempted compromise of their accounts through password resets. These customers’ accounts have been secured, and have been contacted directly.
- As of August 9th, we have migrated email services away from Mailchimp.
- No customer information other than email address was compromised, however, we recommend increased vigilance against phishing attempts in the coming weeks, in addition to enabling two-factor authentication on your DigitalOcean account.

https://www.digitalocean.com/blog/digitalocean-response-to-mailchimp-security-incident

This is not the first time that email servicing Mailchimp have been breached, April 2022, they have been compromised as well,

https://twitter.com/Trezor/status/1510558771944333312

And so the attack on mailing services have been increasing this last couple of months and the hackers getting most of crypto related emails. And this could be another 1 -> end customer.

DigitalOcean for example have notified their users that there could be phishing attacks in the coming weeks as a result of this.
1795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reef is ready to beat ADA in next quarter on: August 17, 2022, 01:44:42 AM
Lol, this is 2022 already, not like in 2017 wherein every project released is supposedly gonna kill this X project, specially Ethereum. Gone are the days wherein you will hype your project with this tagline because this has been exposed already.

And most of the time, it will backfire bigtime when investors seeing that supposedly Reef will beat ADA next quarter. So most likely this is not going to happen, sorry to burst the bubble. Maybe there could be few occasions wherein it will be pump, but then again, after that there will be huge incoming dump as well.
1796  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Just Plunged $700 Upon Reaching $9,060, Correction or Reason To Panic? on: August 17, 2022, 01:19:58 AM
It is good to see my old post when the price of bitcoin plays around 7-9k USD only, Back to that day, if someone bought that price and hold until now, or even this previous Bull, definitely, they will enjoy the huge profit. Love to bring back the memory. What do you think guys, will BTC reach ALT again like 100K usd this year 2022-23?

I do agree, sometimes it's nostalgic to go back in the old thread (actually this one is not that old), and see what is the members reaction and what are their thoughts on it.

$100k will definitely be the next target, but I'm not seeing it in 2022-2023, most likely it will be touch when we go on the next bull run of 2024-2025.

@STT - hopefully that scenario of March 2020 will not equate to $10k as we all know that there is Covid-19 scare that time. Unless we have another phenomena like that that will crash the market to that levels. So for now I will say that it has been invalidated.

Speaking of trades, there seems to be a renewed interest on Donovan Mitchell from the Hornets and the Wizards.

It's going to be interesting to hear as well what will be the package that both teams are offering Utah in exchange of Mitchell.

Backcourt of Beal/Mitchell? or Ball/Mitchell? which make sense?

1798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do you want to be a hero? (maybe not) on: August 16, 2022, 08:29:34 AM
A man in Lebanon was hailed a hero after he takes a bank a hostage. And the reason why he did that? it's because he can't withdraw his money from bank. He had a family emergency, so obviously, he needed that money for hospital bills and all his saving is in that bank. And the hostage ended after the negotiators were able to produce $35,000 (£29,000) of his savings upfront.

Quote
The suspect's brother told journalists: "My brother has $210,000 in the bank and wants to get just $5,500 to pay hospital bills."

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-62514631

I don't know if I can good to that length to hostage the bank or something. But one thing is for sure, if people could just learn how to put their money on bitcoin or crypto, in which they have total control, maybe in times of need, you can just transfer some and convert it to fiat anytime you want. You don't need to be a hero.

Last selfie that I did was last month to our local exchanges, actually it was a video selfie, stating your name and the current date and holding a valid id.

But true, fraudsters will find away to circumvent with this verification, and people are willing to be paid just to have their picture taken in street level, Lol.
1800  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculators : Bitcoins is up now 21k buy buy buy ! but... on: August 14, 2022, 08:47:35 AM
Bitcoin is currently trading in the $24k price range and if people are buying when the price is in the $21k area they will be very lucky right now. However, even though the price of bitcoin is starting to rise, it seems that it will be difficult for bitcoin to reach the target price of $100k this year.

Of if people have bought a lot at the lowest low of $17,500 for sure they are all happy now because it has been going up to almost $25k for certain time.

As for $100k this year?  Not going to happen, certainly, we want to see the price going as high as 6 digits, but with the current conditions I not seeing it this year. Maybe when the market goes into the bull run already, but as of now, we will be glad if market bounces around $25k-$30k levels.
