1781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hasn't any altcoin replaced bitcoin? on: September 23, 2019, 05:30:14 PM
First of all there is the psychological factor. Bitcoin was the first and had no competitor for years, therefore it has begun to be the FACE of a cryptocurrency. Even now when you say cryptocurrency most people think about Bitcoin and not about altcoins at all. Then it is most surely the most used cryptocurrency and it does not have an actual human behind it, but just a name.. Satoshi Nakamoto. I think its creator was very smart by keeping himself/herself anonymous.
1782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: September 23, 2019, 06:34:23 AM
I just want to get a donation, the some value of Stratis (STRAT) to test staking.
I have the node. My address: SdhvkhxnUqAbKjyGtY3Tynej7QHR2upntH
Maybe 1 STRAT or lesser will be enough for me to see working staking.

But moderators delete my post every time.
I think... Really? No one cann't transfer 1 coin or lesser?? Maybe this is already dead...

So I already thinked about mining my own blockchain, using MurMurHash3, to begin test the staking,
but this need some time and power (hashrate).  Grin

Are you kidding, man? Of course staking is working. Stratis is not a new project and their tech is certainly not garbage. It has been tested and fine-tuned for months before releasing any product. Moreover they have devs working on improving the performance of the wallet all the time. No need for "testing". Just go there and buy 1 STRAT if you really want to "test" staking. It isn't worth a fortune yet, just a few cents  Wink
1783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: September 21, 2019, 05:14:26 PM
Can someone help me: i have an Stratis.dat file. How can i put this in a wallet on a different computer? Thank you in advance!

Hey, Bauer! Stratis Core wallet is a hierarchical deterministic (HD) wallet. That means you can recover your wallet just by using your seed words and passphrase and a date as close as possible to the wallet creation date so you don't really need the .dat file as far as I know, but you might wanna join the Stratis discord server and get live support there.
1784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Own Version Of Martingale Your Opinion on: September 21, 2019, 04:43:31 PM
Like you said in the OP it is just a slower version to lose your money. More FUN, but more time wasted. Is that all you have to do with your time? Can't you do something else, something more productive maybe? I'm not here to teach you anything, but hours spent on gambling doesn't seem right to me, but each person is different after all  Grin
1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has Altcoin Season Arrived? on: September 21, 2019, 04:22:52 PM
Nah... In my opinion this is just a bounce, I don't see any sign of a real bottom created. Moreover I'm still bullish on the bitcoin dominance chart so I think that if Bitcoin breaks this consolidation pattern we'll see another big drop in altcoins.
1786  Economy / Economics / Re: Does engaging with bitcoins put you at risk? on: September 21, 2019, 02:58:57 PM
You've got to understand that you are always at risk. People tend to think that if they have a salary and some savings in fiat money in the bank they are not "AT RISK". But.. what if they get fired? Also is it wise to just keep the money in the bank when the inflation is 2-6%/year ( depending on the country you reside in)? So in 10-20 years with the current worldwide economic situation you will lose even 50% of your purchase power. Isn't it wiser to invest your money into a deflationary, not government controlled currency aka Bitcoin? - I can't give you the answer to this question so you will have to decide for yourself  Wink
1787  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The End of Crypto Signal Groups on: September 21, 2019, 01:42:10 PM
There will always be signals group. Some people are just addicted to taking signals seriously.. It is somehow like gambling, people want big and fast gains without putting in the work, just by copy-trading. There are specialized websites offering social/copy-trading services and they are pretty popular.
1788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption! Finally? on: September 21, 2019, 06:43:45 AM
Adoption is going to be a long-term process like it was with the telephone and internet. Of course that big companies with large userbases represent great advancements in terms of adoption indeed. However there is still a long way to go. My take is that the biggest "target" for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are the unbanked peoplew which are billions. As a friend said there are more people with access to internet than access to potable water.
1789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not intended to be a stock. Blockchain has nothing to do with price on: September 21, 2019, 06:27:37 AM
So if you look at the price of Bitcoin means that we treat it like a stock? Why don't we treat it like a currency? Forex traders always keep up with the price of their favorite pairs like EURUSD, GBPUSD, etc. so why wouldn't we keep up with the BTC price against major world currencies, especially if after all we want Bitcoin to become the world currency?
1790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: September 20, 2019, 05:55:45 AM
Stratis is trying to expanding in so many industries and taking into account they are enterprise focused then they are doing the right thing. I just want to see some applications of smart contracts and sidechains as soon as possible. In this market only adoption will drive the price up. Or large investors with deep pockets and confidence in the Stratis team.
1791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee talks Libra, Privacy Coins, SwitchDex, The Gods Of Crypto And More! on: September 20, 2019, 05:38:40 AM
McAfee is still an interesting "player" in the cryptocurrency industry in my opinion. I think he has recently raised his bitcoin price prediction to $2 million dollars until 2020? haha I'm curious to see him live on the television channels doing what he promised to  Cheesy
1792  Local / Romānă (Romanian) / Re: Primeste bitcoin pentru cumparaturile tale online on: September 19, 2019, 07:10:02 PM

1793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty talkies on: September 19, 2019, 07:02:46 PM
I was an avid bounty hunter until like 1 year ago when ICOs were still getting decent amount of money. Nowadays you rarely get real value from doing bounty tasks. Just get a MCdonald's job, it's better for your health. haha
Or look for really serious projects with famous people in the board and with acutally working products that will get used by a big base of people. You need to decide that by studying their whitepaper and team background. Have they managed any successfull businesses before? Yes or no? Have they withdrawn themselves from failures OR even worse did they scam people?
1794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the best free source for market data on: September 19, 2019, 05:05:17 PM
As far as I know CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko are the two major provider of market data. On the other hand if you want to see candlestick charts and all that more technical info you might wanna use tradingview. They also have a free plan.
1795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret of gambling? on: September 19, 2019, 03:30:59 PM
The "secret" of gambling is to only play for fun, don't ever play to make a livin'. Maybe do it for some beer money or something depending on your financial situation of course. There will always be a house edge no matter how small, as long as it exists you will lose money in the long term.
1796  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bakkt is coming: will this be biggest crypto week ever and set off bull run? on: September 19, 2019, 08:56:10 AM
I believe that Bakkt will have a significant impact on bitcoin price in the long term because now institutional investors can trade bitcoin on "regularized"/professional exchange. But in the short term I don't think it will have major impact on the market price. Smiley
1797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most of gamblers are rich or poor? on: September 18, 2019, 05:24:32 PM
I can't say for sure as I haven't looked on any statistics about this, but my bet is most of them are poor. Because that adrenaline rush goes away ( I think) when you are wealthy and have cash flows coming from all sides. The poor man's hope is in winning big time at a roullette or a blackjack game haha But instead of investing that money they look for a short term gain of money without realising that in the long run they drain their wallet like a vampire. Roll Eyes
1798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My gambling strategy on: September 18, 2019, 05:18:08 PM
Thanks for sharing that, but I don't believe in a working strategy for gambling in the long term. I do believe in the probabilities and as long as the casino has an edge over you you can't win consistently. However in the short term you might get away with some pretty hefty gains haha
1799  Economy / Economics / Re: Time for investment on: September 18, 2019, 05:03:00 PM
Invest and make money at the same time? Sounds a little bit like a cliche, isn't it? Now.. assuming that you are looking for a "safer" investment of your hard earned money you might want to look into real estate or bonds, etc. However there is no investment without risk. But keep in mind that just by holding money(fiat) in your pocket you're losing at least 1-2% depending on the country you locate due to inflation. So you might want to ask yourself what is really riskier for you: to save or to invest?
1800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple XRP be the number one cryptocurrency on: September 18, 2019, 12:37:04 PM
XRP hasn't been the no.1 crypto in 2018, it won't be in 2019 and it will never be. XRP is viewed as a half-breed by crypto enthusiasts. For a second confirmation you can have a look at XRP chart. Straight down like all the shitcoins in the market. Altcoins need to have serious working products that are used by a significant amount of people/enterprises if they want to even have a chance to overpass Bitcoin.
