1781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria to launch its crypto currency after crypto ban on: August 18, 2021, 01:05:25 AM
Ban and create new. Yes, sounds like China.
They all want a centralized token and that's for tracking everything so that the people can't keep huge funds and increase the demands.
Sure it will be 1:1 but you will not escape payments even for a mere parking ticket if they can control your money.
The government won't even need your authorization and they could just take the money from your wallet or worse, freeze them until you pay the tickets.
It's not really different from the banks, it's just improved.
1782  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin August 2021 Target? on: August 17, 2021, 02:59:18 PM
If you look at the graph of the bitcoin price increase, it's likely that the bitcoin price will reach $50k. Price predictions are for informational purposes only and are not absolute analysis. The investment decision is in our hands. Therefore, please be wise in trading cryptocurrencies.
If it breaks through the target price then it's a good sign.
August is a good month and it could've brought back the optimistic view of small investors.
That's when a hack happened thru the DeFi platform which was linked thru different blockchains like BSC and ERC20.
Bitcoin was not there and it's a big deal for me. It's proof that a Bitcoin attack will be a difficult thing to do and it had been years without any bad issues.
Trust and security could lift the value of anything, especially in the financial industry.
1783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 17, 2021, 11:20:57 AM
Marcus Smart has found an economic agreement with the Boston Celtics to continue his adventure in Massachusetts. The guard has signed a four-year extension worth $77.1 million in total, a contract fully guaranteed for its entire duration.
He'll stay in Boston along with stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to try to bring the Celtics back to the top of the Eastern Conference. IMO, his defensive approach and grit shown in NBA have made him one of the favorite players of Celtics fans who'll be happy to see him in green until 2026.
Wow. $77 million and is not even branded as one of the great players in the league.
It's like an appreciative contract because of his leadership whenever they play. For me, he is like the Draymond Green of the Celtics team.
That's a good comparison, right? Both rely on hard work on the defensive side and it had been effective.
This is a good deal and I think both ends win. Marcus Smart is happy and so are the Celtics fans and management.
1784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 17, 2021, 03:33:09 AM
Haters lol. There's no inventor of it. Flopping is effective and many players are doing that.

And who's to blame why flopping is effective? Lebron? Players? No.

You should blame the referees. Flopping will not work if refs can see it clearly. Refs are the worst today, not players. They even make the league soft so you won't see any hard defense now.
It's the league management first before the refs.  Grin
Refs are just following orders. If the league is letting the flops slide with just $5000 of fine then refs will somehow bite with players acting like they are Hollywood.
I think this was exaggerated or got worse when Shaq was dominating the paint.
They need a call for an offensive foul because no one can stop him so they use the acting style to sell it to the referees.
Maybe Charles invented it.  Cheesy
1785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the possible outcomes if you join on a Gambling sites or in Casino on: August 16, 2021, 03:10:23 PM
Is this about addiction or just about the experience?

If you win, you don't get rich if you just bet for $10 unless you are the super luckiest guy in the world putting it in a parlay.
Percentage-wise? .0001 percent.
If you lose. Now, this is bad. Either you scream your lungs out to your family or you end up hurting them and worst-case scenario, kill them.
Outcomes are not easy to predict especially if you are relying on luck. That's bad decision-making.
But if you rely on analysis, you have a higher percentage of going home with a smile.
1786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 16, 2021, 02:10:28 PM
I don't agree with the Beverley trade. He may have done some wrong choices but that his emotion showing what is real.
I am against those who are hiding in the closet portraying they are good when media is around but never when they are alone or with their family.
Beverley being mad at CP3 is him, he doesn't care about the camera, he is upset and being competitive, so what. That's a real player for me.

Trading him is a different discussion and his acts should not be considered with it.
Defense. He is one of the top guarding point/shooting guards and even Lebron James being stopped from his shooting motions with a clean slap.
Well, I guess Grizzlies just acquired a good defensive player in their roster.

Oh and I forgot. How is a Bledsoe trade better than keeping him? Bucks just made a championship because Bledsoe was traded.
1787  Economy / Speculation / Re: No BTC Holding is risky on: August 15, 2021, 01:12:08 PM
Thanks for the reminder.
I just recently talked about it with my friend. I always tell him it's the less risky method of investing right now than going for altcoins.
He is still having a hard time believing me because he doesn't see Bitcoin a lot with hypes. Dogs and NFT are mostly what he follows.
I think I will share that phrase with him and see if it would help a little to pursue him to consider instead of risking his money to an unknown future of other coins.
1788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 15, 2021, 09:05:54 AM
It is a good thing. Twitch is making a big impact on young gamers and they just want to clean it up.
It's not about taking away jobs from people but more about protecting the minds of the younger people to avoid bad habits when they grow up.
In the gambling industry, this will have a bad and good effect.
Good - it will take away the doubts of gamblers from betting sites sponsoring these players/vloggers with fake reactions when they win the game.
Bad - more in the financial side.
1789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a new blockchain that will compete with Ethereum? on: August 15, 2021, 07:03:14 AM
If it's for creating projects, Ethereum it is. You cannot deny the fact of how every developer had their chance thanks to smart contracts.
For transaction purposes only, you could try BNB. Cheaper and faster.
But, there's always the but's, you might want to keep those Ethereum in your wallets.
The big train is coming and you don't want to be left out, your ticket is your Ethereum and it's going to be a long ride once they clean everything up.
1790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 15, 2021, 03:34:37 AM
Lance will hold a workout in these hours in Las Vegas where several NBA teams will be present. The goal is to convince them to give him a chance. Representatives from the Bucks, Nuggets, Sixers and Nets are expected to attend.
I guess he would be happy even if any of these four teams offer him a one-year contract with a minimum salary. By the way, it's worth noting that the Nuggets were already interested in Stephenson when Murray was injured last spring. So I wouldn't be surprised if we see him in Nuggets uniform next season.

He has the talent to play in the NBA without a doubt. He just has some mental issues that can really cost his team at times. Basketball really is a sport you need to be aware of what’s going on at all times and similar to JR Smith (who is going back to college to play golf) Lance has at times shown to not fully have that awareness.
Haha  Grin He's playing in China if I am not mistaken. They need clowns there but NBA has no place for the likes of him.
I mean yeah, he is good but there is a bit of a problem with how he defines "play". I think he is confused with kids' playtime and adults' playtime.
He will just be a stress for the coaches and they don't like mistakes that leads to losing the game. A lot of money is at stake being paid for players to entertain and win not fool around.

Milwaukee Bucks F Thanasis Antetokounmpo has agreed to a new two-year deal, sources tell ESPN. He played 57 games in Bucks’ championship season, plus 13 more in the playoffs.

Good news for Giannis, he's brother helped him a lot verbally during his injury time. Moral support and some bench help.
1791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can anything make you stop gambling on: August 14, 2021, 12:03:04 PM
Your losses will surely stop you from gambling.
But don't let it go beyond you cannot feed yourself anymore from putting everything in your gambling addiction.
Sure, it's fun and I don't blame you for the joy it could bring but there should always be limits on how much you will spend on it.
Just like how you buy your own clothing or everyday food, a budget is being set so you won't feel the guilt of spending too much for low quality.
Use that in gambling too, set a budget, and once it's used up take a rest.
1792  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin faces strong resistance to reach $50k? on: August 14, 2021, 07:32:55 AM
Green lights are showing. We may have to fasten our seatbelts because this will going up so fast.  Grin
$50k without Elon Musk! Yey! It's already at $47k and I think it could break the resistance. It broke 45k already so there is no reason it should stop now.
FUD will stay but they should never stop because this happens whenever they take their rest.
The hacking incident might have contributed to this recent hike.
1793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 14, 2021, 01:21:07 AM
Prime Rondo was different. He was so consistent with his game in the Celtics. A good pass first point guard who could kick out passes to a spot up shooter like Ray Allen. He's also a good defender and a hustle player.
Rondo today became inconsistent, as a result he won't going to be a starter but a good back up point guard.
Yeah he still got game, but CP3 had a very good performance last season compared to Rondo.

No changes from the Clippers roster right? Kawhi is re-signing with the Clippers new max contract.
No changes, they might try to just improve the whole roster with their skills.
Terrance Mann could be their key player if only he could be consistent with his game.
He already showed what he is capable of, he just needs more courage to make those shots without hesitation.
I remember one play where he stopped in the middle of the paint, there is no defender in front of him but he decided to pass it.
His offensive awareness should also be trained, making the right decision as fast as he could whenever he holds the ball.
1794  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 13, 2021, 01:31:42 PM
Thanks mate, so yeah, I would consider his last season playoffs was his real test as he was given enough time and role, to be the outside shooter they needed, but unfortunately, when they play on the road in the series against the Bucks, he didn't score that much.

So that's where Korver can teach him as development coach, and partake all the experience he has with Harris to be steady and constant specially on the roads during playoffs.
A big problem with shooters is when their hands are shaking during a tight game.
I think he could give him tips on how he could control those emotions first. I mean, Harris is a sharpshooter already and he knows that, the stat sheets show it too.
It's just that time against the Bucks that I saw him out of place or out of order. Just a bit of shake in that shooting position will mess up everything.
The Nets did a pretty good job putting Korver in their team management with his history of unorthodox shots.  Grin
What upgrade do you think will be given to Harris? Quick-release?
1795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DYOR also needs your input on: August 13, 2021, 09:27:39 AM
I heard about KardiaChain but never with the other 3.
I even thought Dego was misspelled and should be Doge but was explained with the next posts by the members.

You could always find some unique projects that will boast their effort and the true goal of helping the crypto industry to grow more.
Yeah, they might have created their own chain but still, it will go down into how they can preserve it in the long run.
When a project grows old, investors are also trying to look for a new option or a new hype. How to market it every day is the crucial part.
1796  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin losing its purpose? on: August 13, 2021, 05:25:28 AM
There is nothing said to be anonymous. In fact, it is not.
They want to list every holder of crypto assets. Not a problem. But I think the real reasons behind it are still hidden. Tax.
It could have been better if the information they will get will be used for a better purpose. Adoption, Usage, Information that would make merchants choose to have Bitcoin as a payment option rather than cash.
But, if it's for the purpose of tracking down every transaction you will make, then that's the scary part.
DeFi on the other hand is a different discussion, comparing it to Bitcoin is off.
1797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 13, 2021, 02:03:09 AM
I read that Kyle Korver is joining the Nets and I thought to myself that this must be the beginning of them loading up on good veterans for cheap to fill out their roster.

I just have to say that all veterans that Nets acquired are now inconsistent e.g DJ, Blake, etc, and have no bearing with me honestly if they will acquire Kyle Korver as he still has that shooting stroke. But it turned out not like a player as part of the roster but as a development coach. He might be a good help to it to improve more the Nets shooting, especially since the team has a good shooting percentage last season, either in the perimeter and rainbow area.
I thought he was signed as a player as I read Og's post. Thanks for stretching the details.
I think that summarizes his career as a player. It's short for "Yes, I retired as a player."  Grin
40 years of age? Wow. I never knew that. He doesn't really look that old for me. The last time he played was for the Bucks 2019-2020. I hope they signed him as a veteran just for a championship ring.
Well, a new career for him and I wish this will boost the shooting development of the Nets.
1798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the Paralympic Games? Ethical or not? on: August 13, 2021, 01:11:48 AM
Treat them the same as you treat normal guys. That's what they want. No special treatments.
Betting on them? That's on you and me. It's our money that we will lose and not theirs.
Ethical? I think most people have forgotten that word now. Mostly, they will just do what they want and tell it is their own life, money, and freedom.
Who would even care about ethics nowadays? Perhaps our old men are the only ones left who care about it.
1799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PolyNetwork Hacked, $600 million Lost on: August 12, 2021, 11:31:08 PM
I just recently read the whole thing too (although someone already posted about this days ago) and was shocked about the converted amount of money that was taken.
A recent update tells $260M of funds was already sent back because the hacker just did it "for fun". Not new, he did tip that in the comment section of the transaction that he doesn't care about the money.
Why attacks? It's a good thing and a bad thing. Good thing is to enhance their security to avoid the next attack. The bad thing is if the hacker won't give it back and the purpose is really for money.
Exchanges mostly propose hackathon events to see if their security is enough or if it needs to be tightened.
1800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 12, 2021, 03:23:34 PM
For Nets, not only Irving was injured actually. Harden was also injured for a long time. In fact, there were some times that both of them were injured at the same time. Kevin Durant had to carry the team those times. He still did a great job while they were injured. But it was too hard for them to promote to the next round against Bucks like that.
And if you all remember it was KD and Kyrie Irving who was injured the first time and Harden was the one carrying the team.
This year, if that trio will be in shape, Oh God, every game should not be missed.
Whoever creates those highlights in their video streaming pages will be filled with Nets players on the top 10.  Grin
Also, we have Jammal Murray who was injured before the season and has been ruled out in the remainder of the season.
As a Nuggets fan, that hurt me big time. I never thought that could happen that quick and all my hopes of a Nuggets Finals are gone.
I know Jokic could still fight but he ain't a miracle worker.
