1781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can anything make you stop gambling on: August 14, 2021, 12:03:04 PM
Your losses will surely stop you from gambling.
But don't let it go beyond you cannot feed yourself anymore from putting everything in your gambling addiction.
Sure, it's fun and I don't blame you for the joy it could bring but there should always be limits on how much you will spend on it.
Just like how you buy your own clothing or everyday food, a budget is being set so you won't feel the guilt of spending too much for low quality.
Use that in gambling too, set a budget, and once it's used up take a rest.
1782  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin faces strong resistance to reach $50k? on: August 14, 2021, 07:32:55 AM
Green lights are showing. We may have to fasten our seatbelts because this will going up so fast.  Grin
$50k without Elon Musk! Yey! It's already at $47k and I think it could break the resistance. It broke 45k already so there is no reason it should stop now.
FUD will stay but they should never stop because this happens whenever they take their rest.
The hacking incident might have contributed to this recent hike.
1783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 14, 2021, 01:21:07 AM
Prime Rondo was different. He was so consistent with his game in the Celtics. A good pass first point guard who could kick out passes to a spot up shooter like Ray Allen. He's also a good defender and a hustle player.
Rondo today became inconsistent, as a result he won't going to be a starter but a good back up point guard.
Yeah he still got game, but CP3 had a very good performance last season compared to Rondo.

No changes from the Clippers roster right? Kawhi is re-signing with the Clippers new max contract.
No changes, they might try to just improve the whole roster with their skills.
Terrance Mann could be their key player if only he could be consistent with his game.
He already showed what he is capable of, he just needs more courage to make those shots without hesitation.
I remember one play where he stopped in the middle of the paint, there is no defender in front of him but he decided to pass it.
His offensive awareness should also be trained, making the right decision as fast as he could whenever he holds the ball.
1784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 13, 2021, 01:31:42 PM
Thanks mate, so yeah, I would consider his last season playoffs was his real test as he was given enough time and role, to be the outside shooter they needed, but unfortunately, when they play on the road in the series against the Bucks, he didn't score that much.

So that's where Korver can teach him as development coach, and partake all the experience he has with Harris to be steady and constant specially on the roads during playoffs.
A big problem with shooters is when their hands are shaking during a tight game.
I think he could give him tips on how he could control those emotions first. I mean, Harris is a sharpshooter already and he knows that, the stat sheets show it too.
It's just that time against the Bucks that I saw him out of place or out of order. Just a bit of shake in that shooting position will mess up everything.
The Nets did a pretty good job putting Korver in their team management with his history of unorthodox shots.  Grin
What upgrade do you think will be given to Harris? Quick-release?
1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DYOR also needs your input on: August 13, 2021, 09:27:39 AM
I heard about KardiaChain but never with the other 3.
I even thought Dego was misspelled and should be Doge but was explained with the next posts by the members.

You could always find some unique projects that will boast their effort and the true goal of helping the crypto industry to grow more.
Yeah, they might have created their own chain but still, it will go down into how they can preserve it in the long run.
When a project grows old, investors are also trying to look for a new option or a new hype. How to market it every day is the crucial part.
1786  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin losing its purpose? on: August 13, 2021, 05:25:28 AM
There is nothing said to be anonymous. In fact, it is not.
They want to list every holder of crypto assets. Not a problem. But I think the real reasons behind it are still hidden. Tax.
It could have been better if the information they will get will be used for a better purpose. Adoption, Usage, Information that would make merchants choose to have Bitcoin as a payment option rather than cash.
But, if it's for the purpose of tracking down every transaction you will make, then that's the scary part.
DeFi on the other hand is a different discussion, comparing it to Bitcoin is off.
1787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 13, 2021, 02:03:09 AM
I read that Kyle Korver is joining the Nets and I thought to myself that this must be the beginning of them loading up on good veterans for cheap to fill out their roster.

I just have to say that all veterans that Nets acquired are now inconsistent e.g DJ, Blake, etc, and have no bearing with me honestly if they will acquire Kyle Korver as he still has that shooting stroke. But it turned out not like a player as part of the roster but as a development coach. He might be a good help to it to improve more the Nets shooting, especially since the team has a good shooting percentage last season, either in the perimeter and rainbow area.
I thought he was signed as a player as I read Og's post. Thanks for stretching the details.
I think that summarizes his career as a player. It's short for "Yes, I retired as a player."  Grin
40 years of age? Wow. I never knew that. He doesn't really look that old for me. The last time he played was for the Bucks 2019-2020. I hope they signed him as a veteran just for a championship ring.
Well, a new career for him and I wish this will boost the shooting development of the Nets.
1788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the Paralympic Games? Ethical or not? on: August 13, 2021, 01:11:48 AM
Treat them the same as you treat normal guys. That's what they want. No special treatments.
Betting on them? That's on you and me. It's our money that we will lose and not theirs.
Ethical? I think most people have forgotten that word now. Mostly, they will just do what they want and tell it is their own life, money, and freedom.
Who would even care about ethics nowadays? Perhaps our old men are the only ones left who care about it.
1789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PolyNetwork Hacked, $600 million Lost on: August 12, 2021, 11:31:08 PM
I just recently read the whole thing too (although someone already posted about this days ago) and was shocked about the converted amount of money that was taken.
A recent update tells $260M of funds was already sent back because the hacker just did it "for fun". Not new, he did tip that in the comment section of the transaction that he doesn't care about the money.
Why attacks? It's a good thing and a bad thing. Good thing is to enhance their security to avoid the next attack. The bad thing is if the hacker won't give it back and the purpose is really for money.
Exchanges mostly propose hackathon events to see if their security is enough or if it needs to be tightened.
1790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 12, 2021, 03:23:34 PM
For Nets, not only Irving was injured actually. Harden was also injured for a long time. In fact, there were some times that both of them were injured at the same time. Kevin Durant had to carry the team those times. He still did a great job while they were injured. But it was too hard for them to promote to the next round against Bucks like that.
And if you all remember it was KD and Kyrie Irving who was injured the first time and Harden was the one carrying the team.
This year, if that trio will be in shape, Oh God, every game should not be missed.
Whoever creates those highlights in their video streaming pages will be filled with Nets players on the top 10.  Grin
Also, we have Jammal Murray who was injured before the season and has been ruled out in the remainder of the season.
As a Nuggets fan, that hurt me big time. I never thought that could happen that quick and all my hopes of a Nuggets Finals are gone.
I know Jokic could still fight but he ain't a miracle worker.

1791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 12, 2021, 12:33:08 PM
Imagine if Jamal was there playing with Rising Porter Jr, a re-enforcement Magic star Gordon and with his very familiar Duo, the current season MVP Jokic'. They are all good from both offense and defense, a very silent dark horse who can beat any super team, just need them to jive once again a team that composed of all role players who know how to fill their position inside the court.
Injuries hurt them a lot.
But they found new things about their team. One good example is the discovery of Campazzo. We didn't know that guy will be a pest to every pointguard out there.
His hassle in the defensive end will surely help when Jamal needs some bench time.

I think that the biggest candidate for winning the championship this season are Brooklyn Nets. They struggled with injuries too much in the last season. We couldn't watch KD - Irving - Harden trio very much. But in this season, I believe this won't happen again. And this time, they will reach the championship.
Same as last year. There's a lot of expectation for them but it's a different team that won the championship and even Suns was not expected to be on top of the West.
My first wish will be for a healthy season so we could be entertained more without any excuse because of injuries.
1792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best wallet for Crypto Sportbooks deposits/withdrawals? on: August 12, 2021, 08:27:32 AM
Just make sure that you're not using any centralised exchange/hosted wallet.

Fact of the matter is that even if they don't explicitly ban the withdrawal/deposit of gambling related funds into their site, they can always change that stanec and freeze your account.

You don't want to risk that imo. Just stick to the basic stuff - Electrum if you can get desktop applications, or Blockchain.com if you need a browser version.
I agree. Electrum might be the best user-friendly and free application out there to store your Bitcoins.
The problem with centralized wallets is they might freeze your funds if they see most withdrawals came from a gambling site.
Just to be on the safe side, send it to something with your ownership.
You might spend more from withdrawal fees from the gambling site then, another if you want to exchange it for cash but if it means the whole security is fine then just do the longest method.
You prevented your funds from being frozen and remained part anonymous.
1793  Economy / Economics / Re: Where is the value reflected? on: August 12, 2021, 06:02:25 AM
For me, I would like to see more merchants willing to accept cryptocurrency payments, but I will not use cryptocurrency for payment.
The technology of cryptocurrency has become more and more mature, and what still needs to be strengthened is the regulatory level. From the perspective of circulation, we can see whether the future of cryptocurrency is valuable.
And this is why it will never happen for a long time.
You want to see more merchants having the option to accept cryptocurrencies as payment but yet you as a customer will not use it.
So why? If I am a merchant why should I even take the effort to open a different payment option? I'll just use cash and credit cards instead then I won't have any problem with risk and volatility.

Both ends have a problem. Merchants and customers. You don't want to spend it, merchants don't want to risk it. Who will take the huge step for adoption?
1794  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 12, 2021, 05:05:51 AM
There might not be a next time for Dennis Schroder.

I think by now everything has settles down on him, he readily accepted the Celtics offer and blow a once in a lifetime windfall from the Lakers. And there are a lot of memes going around and having a field day roasting him specially from Lakers fan, Lol.
And once the Lakers meet Celtics in the season we will hear chants of boos all around the Staples Center.
This kind of mistake will never be forgotten too easily. They will remember it.  Grin

Denver Nuggets re-sign free agent guard Will Barton III

Big help. He proved a lot during the season and playoffs. It's just the hamstring injury that he should take care of.
Wishing for a Nuggets healthy year and Michael Porter Jr. taking his game to greater heights like how he did in the season.
The playoffs is just too much for him but now he has the experience and that should control the tense he had last time. It's too obvious.
1795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoins on: August 11, 2021, 05:53:37 PM
If it's not Bitcoin then it's an altcoin.
There are no hidden gems that you could find or gem coins or whatever they call them.
Finding where you will invest is the hardest part. What you can do is follow the trend. Most of the time it is profitable even if just for the short term.
Don't fall in love with the project, that's one of the crucial rules if it's just profit that you want.
Do your own research is kind of an old motto. Just try to lower the risk as much as possible by using every precautionary method that you can read.

If you want real, go purchase Bitcoin or Ethereum. It's been tested and but it takes a long time before you can harvest.
1796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 11, 2021, 03:15:13 PM
Maybe that's what really on Dennis mind, he is still very young and we can say that he can still improved, or be a candidate for Most Improved if he really shows what he can really do with the Celtics team. Maybe playoff appearance first and then go for the second round with a healthy Jaylen Rose. So let's see if the gamble will pay back or not for Dennis next season. For sure, many will raise their eye brows and this NBA analyst will have a field day on him. So he better proved all his detractors wrong.
It's Jaylen Brown. Just to correct it.  Wink

I don't really mind what happened to Schroder. He is not yet in that position to have perks of high salaries like other great names in the league.
$85m was a good offer, actually, it's too good but he tried to go way beyond it thinking there would be a better contract that will be offered from other teams.
Both his agent and he made a mistake. Rewriting it won't be easy because now all eyes are on him and proving that you're worth the pay next season will need hard work and skill.
What made the path more difficult is he is considered a backup for Marcus Smart.
1797  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency: The Future of Finance in a New World Order? on: August 11, 2021, 12:25:58 PM
Exactly.
There must be a change and it should be now.
We don't want anyone handing us over paper money, metal coins, or even plastic cards that had been passed from one person to another.
That's a culprit of virus and we can avoid that if we can transact with just the QR code or other options.
If there is a good time to do it, it is now. Financial establishments will be forced to do the same even if they don't want to.
Change is happening but the question is how fast will it be?
1798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 11, 2021, 06:53:05 AM
Japan is not a communist or dictator types of government but they're raise really have a good respect to the government.

I also love watching videos about their culture and even how they workout in times like this, even Covid is also hitting them but they
manage to work well and lessen the numbers of dying citizens.
Thanks to them for bringing the olympics even there's no real audiences but still they managed to finished it. Till then..

Yes. No audience is fine as long as they can complete the Olympics. Besides, people got used to just watch on their own televisions with live streaming.
I got used to it.  Grin I think that's not an issue for anyone anymore. That's why they say this is the new normal.
Then, there are country flight restrictions, and Japan just trying to secure their own countrymen to avoid spreading the virus.

In the end, they did it. Sportsmanship is still alive and world peace.
1799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest hack on Defi/Crypto space worth of $600 Million plus from PolyNetwork on: August 11, 2021, 05:01:10 AM
Crazy thing is, someone informed hacker throughout transection to not use usdt which is blacklisted and hacker tipeed that address 13.37 eth. After knowing this, everyone's started to spam on his address for free money. Just check the ethereum address of that hacker. More entertainment on those transections.  Grin Grin

Yeah.. I could see more than 1,000 spam transactions to the address. But I don't know whether the guy who received 13.37 ETH in his wallet will be able to spend that money. If his address is linked to any exchange wallet, then he will find himself in big trouble. Legally, the authorities can't prosecute him, as he hasn't directly taken part in the hack. But he has received stolen coins and now his past transactions will also be under the scanner. And personally I don't encourage this sort of behavior. Why should anyone help the hackers?
Correct. He was used as a tool or an acquaintance. That is still punishable by law.
Instead of helping to track him, he was the one who provided the getaway car in terms of stealing.
The attacker insisted it was not about the money. So what is it for?

If I have this kind of gift to think at an awesome level, I'd rather use it for a better crypto industry. What is he thinking? Jail time is not fun at all than being in front of the computer everyday.
1800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 11, 2021, 03:30:41 AM
With healthy Jamal and with the same lineup It's very possible to see this at the finals, though I'm also eyeing for the warriors with
a healthy splash bro and a possible Simmons, I'll wait if this would happened.
Oh yeah, splash brothers are back on the field.
Let's not forget Draymond the wise.  Grin That guy is scary underneath the rim and even in the offensive transition plays.
If ever they decide to take Simmons, there will be more trouble for other teams attacking the paint when both Ben and Draymond have a good lateral quickness that could stop even agile players.
West is full. Throw some in the East. Oops, they just did. Schroder $5.9m 1-year contract at Celtics.
