Alot of the shorts are also mining farms that sell un-mined BTC ahead of time to protect their investment against a price crash.

The BIGGEST worry of this coin is that it wasn't listed on Bittrex. It should of been listed by now. 8BIT was out less than 24hours and it got listed earlier today. There was talk of the admin of Bittrex inquiring about EKN a couple days ago and its still not listed. Why?
This coin will NOT survive unless its hits a mainstream exchange.

You are better off buying old inefficient gear for next to nothing and get ROI faster then buying something more efficient if you are free electricity.
Get an S3 or a KNC Jupiter.

I like this website. I am surprised it hasn't grown more in popularity since it was first created. I think what would help is if you started a signature campaign to promote it.
I think many would use it instead of dice since you can't cheat anybody and its pretty much more fun.

So I finally got my long awaited bonus miner a week or two before easter only to find out that it was a PoS. The fans were not strong enough to do very much of anything, but I had the miners in a warehouse at 12 degrees celsius (don't know what that is in fahrenheit or zargons) so they should have been fine. But no, 4 out of 5 cubes overheated and turned off sections. So I was planning to get some new fans, some cooling pads for the power regulators and put some new cooling paste on the chips, but until then I would just run them heavily underclocked.
However during the easter holidays the whole miner just dropped off the grid. When I came to the site all the PSUs were running, so no major power failure like I saw on the Jupiter I have. Eventually I disconnected all the miners from the controller board and the board started flashing its lights at startup. I was hopeful. But the router never found the controller/Neptune. I suspect it might be the beagle (I have never seen such a scruffy beagle in my life, it looks like it had a lobotomy), but I don't know.
Does anyone have any ideas? If it can be fixed, what fans should I get?
You sure there is no plastic cover between the ASIC chip and the heatsink? |

I don't think the price going below $200 will affect the difficulty much. It might affect it by around -5% or so. We were below $200 for a couple days and the difficulty wasn't decreasing anyways.
For miners its worse because about a month ago, price was almost $300 and difficulty is pretty much exactly where it is right now but we were making 25% more.
Its not a linear curve.
Price might go down 50% and difficulty might only go down 20%.
I think the reason being is that many miners right now have free electricity and for them it doesn't matter what the price is because they are always pulling in a profit.

This is the actions of a whale because a whale will generate high volume without regard for trading fees and other exchanges will then add the coin quickly. So before a coin gets added to bittrex, it needs high volume? |
