181  Economy / Economics / Re: Some attributing factors to the high cost of petroleum products in Nigeria on: April 14, 2024, 02:15:47 PM
You have a right to be annoyed with the government in this situation, because the problem they are actually ignoring is politicians are busy getting rich via back handers from oil companies. Who ship away vast amount of raw unprocessed oil while trickling in smaller amounts of refined products like petrol and diesel. What they really need to be doing is building out their refining capacity, so it can support the local population but they'd also earn more from selling these products that are not simply base chemicals. Unfortunately as subsidies have been around for such a long time and have become so ingrained, it requires teasing them away slowly or the populace will snap back against it.

The rise in petroleum products significantly affects Nigeria,no doubt, the high cost of petrol prices in Nigeria is affecting businesses by increasing transportation costs and energy costs, maintenance, and a complete decline in the economy. The government fails to protect the interest of the poor masses which in turn increases
The taxes collected by the Central and State governments are among the most important factors influencing the cost of petrol  in Nigeria. These tax rates directly affects how much petrol costs in the country making it expensive for the consumers to purchase.

182  Economy / Economics / Re: Play to earn model vs move to earn model. on: April 14, 2024, 01:35:53 PM
I think you're confusing things a bit, Play to earn model and move to earn model are just some of the small apps that have emerged from blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

In fact, they do not constitute any important economic strategy and do not provide any solution to any economic or technological problem. They are just small applications for profit and nothing more, and the profits that come from them are very small and cannot constitute economic income for individuals, let alone support the economy or influence it.

It's not something to depend on for survival and upkeep,I heard that the earnings are relatively small compared to others. They're both gaming technology that requires users to function properly like performing various tasks and end up receiving cryptocurrency rewards.

I haven't really tried any of them before but that shouldn't discourage anyone too.Its doesn't really seem beneficial to me and its something that you can go into just for fun and during your leisure time and make extra income for yourself,Just so you can be able to stay fit and active earning crypto.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Few days to 4th Bitcoin Halving on: April 14, 2024, 12:15:34 PM
I have witnessed two Bitcoin Halving cycles and going through its historical data about the price before the halving, Bitcoin created a new history this cycle, that is breaking through its ATH before the halving, however in as much as we anticipate future significant price growth as usual But we really needs to digest this new record that Bitcoin made.

So, What is your thought seeing the price of Bitcoin smashed the ATH a month before its halving?

1. Could this mean that we are on the verge of witnessing an explosive Bitcoin rally as a result of the Bitcoin ETFs approval.

2. Do you think that the Bitcoin Bull market is going to end sooner than later after the halving?

The events that takes place before the bitcoin halving seems to have effects on the bitcoin markets. That the events that happened in the previous months before halving increases bitcoin or makes a rise in the price of bitcoin.
From the previous halving events, there's always a price change.

Personally, its difficult to predict the outcome and impact that this halving will have over the bitcoin markets, but it obviously going to lead to an increase in demand and production.

A short educational video explains the difference between 'trading an item' and 'using an item' to show that there's no such thing as a 'Bitcoin use case': https://youtu.be/uNzs9JAKjMY

You sincerely don't have enough evidence or points to back this up right?I see you're new here and you really need to go hard on this;on facts, and this journey of bitcoin mastery.
Its not everything you see or hear about bitcoin is exact. Some items and opinions that you seek comes from learning and research. Some of this clips you'll normally watch can misdirect and inculcate you wrongly.

Exhibit a good study habit, grind and chew every piece of information into perfection and an effective knowledge/ understanding.

185  Economy / Economics / Re: Brazil, Russia, India, China (The BRICs) on: April 14, 2024, 09:02:50 AM
[
The Chinese may want to prosper economically but let's not forget that they have more investments in needy countries who come to them for loans and when they fail to repay the loans, there's obviously something at stake and it becomes theirs.
Other countries are also interested in the BRICS currency of which Nigeria, south Africa  join the list of like minded countries.
The BRICS currency initiative is supposed to be aimed at easing economic hardship that often comes with trading, import and export business as well as be an allievating force for countries where inflation has been predominant and in all essence lead the frontier for a new world order.
BRICS,the BRICS are very ambitious, they seem to be very interested and obsessed with ensuring and promoting cooperation among themselves and members by tackling financial, economical and political crisis globally;but they still haven't gotten there.BRICS sees herself like the aid that nations need to stand on her ground, and boost a balanced approach to growth.

They seek to depend on each other to build growing influence in the world and the bond/ties that exists between them can bring down  another country..No doubt, the influence that the BRICS have from their components is so overwhelming and overpowering whether positively or negatively.
186  Economy / Economics / Re: Will inflation become big challenge for retired people after 10-20 years? on: April 14, 2024, 08:22:15 AM
It is already causing lot of problems for retired people. How much will this problem intensify in future ?
[/quote

Actually, its not inflation that inflicts hardship on us.It's not necessarily inflation or only inflation.Every active individual should expect the bad signals and good signals always, the ability of somebody to  have the inflation under one's control is such a blessing.Particularly,I mean that understanding the concept inflation and applying the necessary practices and method so it can relief you from its pressure's.

During inflation, the cost of living increases without caution and that's really scary.Goods and services constantly gets expensive. But mind you, inflation injures retirees that have not been able to figure out that thier disappointment and hardship starts when they believe and depend completely on penssion payments from the government.

Inflation Favours the people that gain the knowledge as fast they could, utilized the opportunity and implemented the decision to ensure and activate financial safety for themselves.
187  Economy / Economics / Re: The current situation in the country Nigeria. on: April 13, 2024, 02:06:41 PM
The hardship in Nigeria increase day by day the massive are suffering. The poor old men and women. That doesn't have access to bank are suffering. Just imagine a pregnant woman died in a hospital just because there was no cash the network was bad for transfer. Where are we going to. Our people are suffering they are dying our leaders should do something about it to me I don't think we have leaders anymore. The people we call our leaders have already failed us. Now it's time for election let's vote wisely let not suffer for 8 years again

People can do something about it since you can vote for different politician for countries change. But if you keep putting the same guys on the set then change will never came on that country so citizens of nigeria should work for its change because its really bad if your health care system, economical and other aspects has been neglected by the head of the state.

But its good if you open up this discussion on Nigerian section because people came from outside Nigeria cannot do anything about it so speak up on correct board to get more good result since maybe you can influence people to vote the right leaders on your country.
Good suggestion dear, but personally I think the citizens/individuals in Nigeria are trying thier best at every given time during elections to execute judgement appropriately as they should on their behalf. They constantly witness their problems year to year without been solved, and  they're constantly been neglected by the government.

To be honest here, the political systems and agenda of the Nigerian government cannot proffer solid solutions to this crisis in Nigeria. Its very essential to have a leader in one way or the other, but in aspects that involves your wellbeing and livelihood, consider yourself as your the head;be your leader and follow your lead.Even if  it costs you, ride on with patience, wisdom and consistent sacrifices.Ensure to you make progress to learn, unlearn and relearn from the weakening economic.
188  Economy / Economics / Re: Does sound money have to be Private? on: April 13, 2024, 01:45:32 PM
I think the creators of Bitcoin were trying to say that you can't have sound money if it is not Private. That is why they made it as private as they could make a public ledger.
I don't think the creator of Bitcoin was trying to define what sound money is. Satoshi was trying to solve the problem of third parties mediating and controlling transactions. Bitcoin bypassed that trust system which the banking system is built on and created a verification system.

There was no allusion to what sound money is or what it should be.
Exactly, bitcoin is the definition of freedom when it comes to financial because we know how bitcoin is secured and trusted no one could access to our transaction or know your identity in the crypto space, but as bitcoin technology is advanced and secured it can also be used for doing hidden transaction or transactions that is made because of someone doing a crime, that's is also why government are very hesistant in bitcoin because they can't track the identity of someone who is using bitcoin but if we will look to the brigther side, bitcoin really is something that is powerful and very useful for us, especially in terms of finance, you can surely earn in bitcoin as long as you know how to, and you can rest assured that your money will not have any tax or deduction so thats the greater in crypto currency, so bitcoin provides the most secured, safe and privacy.
I think you're right, and in addition to to that, with reference to research the ability of bitcoin to retain it value all these years, serve as a consistent medium of exchange and payment worldwide, and the rendered stability in the crypto space is relatively undeniable. The features that bitcoin embodies is effortlessly leading and ensuring Monetary stability in FINTECH.
189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: April 12, 2024, 07:19:59 AM
So at this point I decided to bring it here to know or see different views from different intellects here on why some do some people hide just to gamble or if it is the best way to gamble ?.

I am not surprised by this because I know such exists and a lot of people do bet on games to win huge amount of money without doing it through a casino or a website. They do that in the hope that their wins are not held and can easily get to understand each other through that game they play.
In some societies, where it is prohibited, people go hidden to bet and also underage also do that by going to hide to play such games. Gambling is prohibited in some countries or some part of some countries, so anyone seen doing it can be penalized, so the best they can do is to go hidden.

Yeah so many people bet or Gamble on different criteria just to win huge amount of money, probably why they hide to gamble might be that they don't want to showcase it to the public moreso such acts might not be authorized by most country so they decide to hide to do this and it's not a best way to gamble cause most people might see this pattern as illegal.
Like some of us that does ours through online sites and casinos some many others don't enjoy this online stuff but tend to do it with people surrounded whereby they share common minds together.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: April 11, 2024, 02:55:54 PM
The game of gambling isn't something that people with low patience can survive be it the different types of gambling @sports betting  @casino games like dice and slots, patience is still the key to survive. Sometimes anxiousness and anxiety can make a gambler take decision that he might end up regretting.
patience is one of the keys to helping a gambler avoid bad impacts such as greed or chasing losses.
I have had many bad experiences that I have gone through and I have managed to get through all of this with the patience that I have instilled in my mind to continue to think slowly without betting with anxiety and always enjoying every bet I make.
like for example when I only bet at a local casino on a poker game with a budget of $10 but it can produce a win of around $40 but not in the short term and I get that after a few hours of me betting.

patient gamblers usually always make wise decisions every time they want to place a bet, always think about the long term and assess how big the risk is if they bet too big and usually gamblers like this can actually be said to be professional gamblers because they can fight everything related to the temptations that exist in gambling but a gambler can strongly maintain his passion so as not to be too tempted.

patience in gambling is really needed and in this way a gambler can enjoy and have fun in every betting session without having any regrets.

Yeah patience is one vital tool that enhance a gambler aims of achieving bigger wins but alot of gamblers don't see to this perspective as what they think is making it so quick not adopting the fact that they need patience to givern a lot of the affairs that Will stimulates their wins..but then I concur entirely to your statement  that patience enables a gambler to make wise decisions.

Something happened to me that made me learnt so much lesson to be patient enough for whatsoever reason because it buys to my day to day activities and schedules, not to talk about a gambler so without patience I wouldn't have known a lot that I do now that has made me take most decisions that have profited me.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: April 11, 2024, 02:42:52 PM
What do you think of this method?
Is there anyone among you who does it?
Give us one of your winning strategies, of course if that is possible.

Viewing gambling as a way to double money might just be wrong. If many people adopt this mindset, it could result in more losses. Although it's true that gambling can sometimes lead to big wins, it's not wise to rely on it as a strategy. Some gamblers find it difficult to stop after winning big, which can lead to further losses. While this approach might be successful for some, it's uncertain whether it would work for everyone.

Yeah I bet you sticking to such mindset will eventually generate or amount to a total loss and then you think of measures to chase after it which is not gonna lead to anything. This doubling thing is only for those desperate to make it all out at a stretch and it doesn't work that way,I think the method is not gonna be helpful in anyway and I can't try such not to even think of it but just s you earlier said it works for some not everyone but it's not advisable to follow up such strategy.

I wouldn't say I have a strategy that can results to bigger wins but I play my game well and get to a higher chances of lucks sometimes and when I don't get a win I just let it be cause that's the game for you,it's either you win or lose but not to double your money just to win of course you won't.
192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Betting. Why the Distinction? on: April 11, 2024, 02:18:06 PM
I was today years old when I found out that if betting and gambling isn't exactly the same thing. If you Google the word betting most of the  results will be in regards to sports betting. Also Google the word gambling and you will see most results refer to casino games. In my own opinion whether we bet on the outcome of a sports event or we bet on games of luck and skill in the casino, they are both the same thing. Which is why I wonder why there is this distinction between the two? Why can't we say casino betting just as we say sports betting or sports gambling just as we refer to the casino when we talk about gambling? I know it sounds weird saying casino betting or sports gambling but what do you think about this?

I don't think there's much difference between both, because they almost play same roles, you can bet on sports and still gamble on games which are on same vein, nevertheless they are both experiencing predictions and staking..
But I want to say this as I may see it that when you talk about betting it also literally means gambling cause your spending a particular amount you may have for fun or chances of winning but then when you talk about gambling it's the core factor here, and it involves a lot like loosing, lucks, winnings and so on so there's no big deal about any distinction between the both, they are all just a game of excitement and fun.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: April 11, 2024, 01:30:54 PM
It improves mood
It is a stress reliever
It helps us to take risk

I agree that it can help us if we gamble responsibly and gamble for fun and happiness as our entertainment. In contrast, if we gamble irresponsibly, gamble with hope to get rich, to become millionaire, billionaire made by gambling, I am sure we will not have happy ending. Let greed controls us and affects our gambling activity, we will over gamble and will lose more than win. At the end, we will lose most of our money used in gambling and our life can be destroyed by gambling.

It's really so surprising seeing that gambling as health benefits,I had to go through the article and read every details inorder to get a full knowledge but I would say it's cool cause I'm aware gambling has both the negative and positive effects on a gambler so focusing on this area I can say in the aspect of relieving stress it sure works for me but where I don't get it straight it's where he said it helps us to take risk.
It's taking risk a health benefits to human whereas a gambler,I don't think this should be placed under this category or better still it should fall under the the characteristics of gambling which is taking risk.how do you see this!?
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online casino gambling is more of profit chasers while land base is more of fun on: April 10, 2024, 11:13:27 AM
What is your opinion towards my research that online casino gambling has more of possesed players who stakes to make profits while the land base gambling is more of players who stakes for funs?

Wow!! Judging by your statement you said you said you did a research Right?? So how come the vivid detailed information concerning your research wasn't placed here too to know if your research is tested and proven as well.
And I don't think I would make my own opinion concerning this thread cause it's just saying I should go on my own and do my findings and come back here and make my own view concerning it.

But nevertheless I'll urge you to please elaborate more on this thread as it will be beneficial you know but putting a little lite on this I would say it varies that online casinos are more of profit than land base which is of fun..the both of them are interwoven sometimes too.
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you feel when you experience violence while gambling on: April 10, 2024, 11:02:09 AM
Have actually been hearing many people saying that they gamble for fun or enterteinment And not for the money , this has also been My perception Towards gambling If not for the small money I often make Sometiemes But this idea changed this evening when i went To a game house To play some betting games.

This evening i actually realized that some people see gambling as a means of livelihood, i Was At a game house today watching some Guys play snooker betting  And their games where actually funny And entertaining till one of the Gamblers lost all his money to his fellow Gambler And he became very violent And started a fight with his colleaque that resulted the attention of the Police Force. The Police arrested everyone including the owner of the betting shop And insisted that we will all bail ourselves with money before we can go home freely .

This idea gave me the impression that some people can be very dangerous as a result of lossing money while gambling And i aslo learnt My lessons today . However, i Dont know If you have actually experienced such things At the betting shops And If yes How do you feel or react At the situation? .

Have not had such experience cause I do my own betting online, most times it's advice to stay away from such games spot cause usually it triggers and result's in most violence cases we hear about.
What happened to the online casinos and betting sites to place and stake games and so on,I do mine here to avoid myself fallen into such situations.

And most times it's greed that cause all these violence during gambling and betting, when your partner is winning and at the other hand your loosing your angry and vexed at that moment, you know most people can't really control their anger in this aspect and that's why it's not advisable to gamble in such open areas cause it might generate to something even much worse than what you experienced.
This is where controlling emotions when gambling should be considered very greatly.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you consider yourself, the family and gambling? on: April 10, 2024, 10:52:33 AM
Lets take a look at the family aspect of everyone gambling and try to give our individual opinions concerning these questions i will like us to discuss from regarding how we are gambling and how that can affect the family for the benefits of those already having one and those that will soon be in the league of a family man, lets make it as simple as possible in giving our earnest contributions on our take from this following questions i have for us.

1. At what age will you allow your child to start gambling? that is if you will even allow for that at all?
2. At what age do you see yourself quit gambling? that is also if some of us are going to ever do so?
3. Ever since you have started gambling, have you ever achieve a satisfying level that makes you think it has good impact on you?
4. Would you have missed out on anything if you were not a gambler?

1. I don't think I'll give a chance to my child or children to ever do so knowing fully well the outcome that gambling at that tender age brings.

2. We'll I would say quitting gambling doesn't literally mean your going to miss the fun it brings but for me I don't think  gambling has any side effects or negative effect rather on myself because I see it as something I derive joy from.but nevertheless I would do so but can't guess the age tho.

3. Nah!! I don't think have achieved anything satisfying but  in the other hand it got an impact on me in the sense that I know when and how to tackle my emotions that will be favourable to activating my winning big.

4. Literally gambling has a way of making one Miss so much opportunities but I don't think it has affected me in this area too but rather it has opened my initiative and expanded my horizons on how to grab some opportunities.
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stopping the curse of losing streak? on: April 10, 2024, 08:14:29 AM
Quitting for a while can be a solution to ones general losing treak. Most time when lose, one brain may remain unsettled as you try to run after your lost. Quitting for a while will help your brain to settle down and help you make good selection into your gambling prediction. Although I gamble mainly on football and this has been so helpful to me managing my lost.

Loosing streak I would say is unconditional but most times I think yes quitting for awhile is a better procedures, nothwithstanding the fact that your trying to chase after your loss which is not advisable but with that you need to stay away from betting or gambling so as to know a better pattern or chances of recovering from it.

So I think stopping the curse of loosing the streak will help maintain a balance for you and like you said settle your brain for effective results later on.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you achieved anything from gambling on: April 10, 2024, 07:42:42 AM
Hello pals , this might Sound Crazy And funny But there are some meanings To It when looked At critically ,I Was having some chats with My colleaques in the Office And I told them that I waiting for the right Time to stake my bets online and one of them opted that he hates gambling and that he has achieved anything from the money he makes while gambling , and that he either Drinks with The money or goes to club with his girl Friend and many more unfortunate reasons .

Still on the matter another colleaque of mine backed him up saying that since he started gambling that he has never achieved anything tangible from gambling and that he feels that something mysterious is associates with the money he makes from gambling.

Lastly , i Dont know If you have achieved anything from gambling or you have same perception like my colleaques But for me i have achieved something reasonable and tangible from gambling , So please friends let me see your opinions on this .

I have not achieved anything tangible from gambling, seriously i was in a gathering and they were just narrating their achievements each and everyone and I was like wow but to think of it that it was gambling they achieved such got me wondering and marveled but nevertheless I don't see it as a big deal you know, cause I have a lot of achievements aside gambling so it's a plus too to me.

But how could one really achieve such when sometimes the chances of luck are not on your side and majorly I don't put so much for it cause I'm a responsible gambler and I know that if I  continue in that vein I might end up being addicted and that will generate to a big loss for me.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it right to advice other people against gambling for personal reasons like?? on: April 10, 2024, 07:28:45 AM
Facebook? Have you checked the comments on YouTube when a person talks about gambling? It is all the same. Truth be told gambling is addictive so is smoking, drinking, clubbing, gaming, mobile phone and other activities that brings about a release of dopamine.

But are everyone who engage in these activities addicts? The answer is no. The stories from people who discourage others not to begin gambling are from those who didn't gamble responsibly. They are stories from those who didn't do it in moderation.

I will say  just like the philosopher, "man/human know thyself". You know what you have the ability to control and what you can't, if anyone feels gambling falls into the category of activities that may likely be beyond their control, then they shouldn't start at all.

This is why, gambling is not for kids only for adults.

I concur to this entirely, you can only advice an addict not a responsible gambler who knows how and what to do and again I would say the category of addicted gamblers you would want to advise are those who find it hard to stop gambling, those that go extra miles to take loan, borrow Money and even do nasty things just to gamble, those people that can't gamble with the lowest percentage of their income or finance,in general those people fall under irresponsible gambling and at such they need to be persuaded to leave gambling and focus on something good.

But advising a responsible gamblers sometimes can be seen as an insult to them,as they take it as something that excites them,so if you want to advise such persons it's really not gonna work, cause they know what they are doing and that's why it's preferable to educate the young ones about gambling and all they need to know so they won't end up as addicted irresponsible gamblers.
200  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: April 09, 2024, 10:17:47 PM
Education doesn't necessarily mean knowledge and many rich people don't even have a degree because they thought its useless and not completely related to knowledge and skills. Education is the key for survival not for success so don't get confused between both cause it is different and knowledge is powerful in my opinion.

Unemployment is everywhere and lot of reasons are there why many doesn't have jobs but currently the fear of recession caused many companies including google, facebook, twitter, tesla, etc fired thousands of their employees to survive their winter. For us, we need to keep updating our skills so you won't be fired or can get a job in no time.

Been educated doesn't necessarily make someone successful, someone can be educated and still be unsuccessful. While I was growing up,I mostly hear people's advice like,go to school,be educated and you're guaranteed a successful life, this and that, stuffs like that.

But either ways, education is good, and money is good.We need both of them, they're inquisitively attainable.Education gives you the knowledge to attain  or earn money. You need something to boost your ego,to trigger the urge to push yourself, and that's education, knowledge.
The great in your life occurs when you've realize how to add value to yourself and the society at large. There's a great importance between education can money,as both can be seen as a phenomenal approach to humanity.Just my thoughts, you know...
