181  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happened to bitcoins after one died? on: September 28, 2017, 09:31:51 AM
This is interesting topic. One has to leave copies of private keys and educate the person on how to transfer Bitcoin. Otherwise what good the keys serve if person is unable to make sense of them.

If one passes away unexpectedly then that BTC is lost forever. So we can say that as amount BTC decreases due to lost keys and demand being same, the price of BTC will increase.
182  Economy / Economics / Re: Where did you first heard about Bitcoins? on: September 28, 2017, 09:16:08 AM

184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in a bull trap? We’re forever blowing bubbles on: September 28, 2017, 03:23:37 AM
While I do not trust the graph by OP. Below pretty much sums it up. Speculators will speculate and one will always be right and other will always be wrong. But question is who is right.

Edited:
With the implementation of lightening network and other possible developments after SegWit, we might be able to see micro transactions affordable once again with BTC.

OP, you could be right if $4900 was really the peak. But what if we still have a long way to go and the real peak is much higher? Remember that we have not seen something like Bitcoin before. It's deflationary, resistant to government control and makes moving value across borders very very easy.

By the way, this thread belongs to the speculation subforum.

185  Economy / Speculation / Re: how to predict bitcoin price increase or decrease? on: September 28, 2017, 02:48:10 AM
it is not possible for predict price of Bitcoin with 100% accuracy but you can look at some indicators.

For example, we have upcoming Bitcoin hard fork in November and some of big exchanges will close in China soon.
186  Economy / Economics / Re: Maybe governments can stop bitcoin after all on: September 28, 2017, 01:23:12 AM
One country alone can not stop it but China will have huge impact on price of cryptos.

Close of exchanges next month + hard fork coming up = great opportunity to buy!
187  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin a good way to invest your money ? on: September 28, 2017, 12:45:16 AM
I keep seeing crypto is a bubble articles on coindesk. Is there any weight on these articles from coindesk?

Bitcoin price may vary over the money or two due to upcoming fork but that's not really a bubble.

If you feel comfortable with coinbase then go ahead and transfer money using ACH (its cheapest way to transfer but you have to wait few days for transfer to complete) then move the funds to Gdax (exchange owned by coinbase) to buy crypto without coinbase huge fees.

Buying from coinbase - you have to pay high fees
Buying from Gdax - fees are minimal

Transfers between coinbase and Gdax are same day and without any fees

I don't use coinbase or Gdax but this is what I have heard from other users.
189  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is Exodus a safe desktop wallet alternative? on: September 01, 2017, 08:22:15 PM
Make sure to use offline (cold storage) wallet if possible. For example, electrum for bitcoin BTC lets you create keys on a computer that is not connected to the internet.

Make sure to validate any files you download online with few sources including elctrum. You can do hash checks md5s etc.

I would suggest that if you are not faimliar with private key and public key then get familiar with it. Send the bitcoin to public key address (hardware address) from Coinbase.

When you need to cash it then send it back to Coinbase public key address (you should be able to get the address by clicking on deposit Bitcoin and it will create and link the address to your account) then you can sell and convert it to cash.

It seems like you are doing it for the first time to send like $5 or less back and forth. Once you get the better understanding of it then you can send more BTC.
