Tried to mine Vertcoin for a few days, but the pool i used (alwayshashing.com ) kept crashing, and other p2pools i tried were not rewarding at a stable pace, so i went back to mine BTX Actually mining profits should be in the long run, a lot of times we can not only see the immediate profits high and low, is like the past of the VTC price is very low, but if you insist on mining and save the, so now the profit is very high. Yes i noticed the rewards are better and more stable after 24 hours or so, but had too many issues with the pools and my miners, so i got 1VTC / day ( 8$). While mining BTX with the same hardware i get 1.2 BTX / day ( now worth 23$ ) and it's run and forget ( the VTC i had to babysit every few hours ) |

Also those who are reading yet not involved - it's worth noting the halving has happened!
This means that the block reward (for solving the difficulty of each block) has gone from 50 to (now) 25.
Some obvious benefits are - more scarcity (a lower rate of coins being created - still the same total), also less coins being dumped onto exchanges by miners. It also represents a level of maturity and foundation the coin has created over the last 4 years.
Plenty more great news to come!
When did the halving occur? Also, if difficulty keeps rising at the same time, then mining will not be profitable at all... |

Just to note the main exchange for VTC, bittrex, has been getting a lot of negative feedback lately. Check out the exchanges section for many "scam" threads: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=223.0I have over $1000 worth of coins stuck there.  Sorry to hear that. I've only experienced but a good relationship with them. Been trading for like a year in Bitrex, never had any issue. Transfering money to my wallets was almost faster than with Cryptopia (which i really like too ) and the other exchanges |

In the meantime, all my Bitcoins are spent investing. I try to diversify my portfolio as much as i can to fight the high volatility, buy different coins in projects i trust have a good potential. Sometimes BTC climbs faster than the rest of the coins combined (like today for instance), but generally the whole portfolio climbs slighty better than BTC alone, plus i dont' put all my eggs in the same basket...

Haha... A few days ago people said the project is dead and they regretted they didn't sell the coins. This is another example of how crypto market can change a lot from one day to another!
I think that's the influence from people that try to do pumps and dumps so they fud a bit, wait for the coin to dip and buy as low as they can, then wait for the coin to return to it's normal pace. I'm holding SYNX for months now, i rarely see some fuss or hype, and still you see weekly improvements. In the telegram channel you can see the community is very friendly, funny, and everyone is helping each other. |
