181  Economy / Economics / Re: Does bitcoin important in blockchain world ? on: December 22, 2017, 09:47:14 PM
Not only is it important it plays an integral and vital role in how beginners understand the industry. When I first got into Bitcoin it was because I knew about Bitcoin not because of altcoins, or because of cryptocurrency, or cryptography, or "mooning". None of those I knew about all I knew was Bitcoin existed and it seemed awesome and from there we gain and expand our knowledge about blockchains.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta has bn hacked on: December 22, 2017, 09:38:01 PM
Well at the minimum you needed to click a phishing link to get hacked which makes me feel a bit more safe. Also ED tweeted now that they will make an attempt to make the interface better as well as educate users on phishing attempts which is also good for the end user and makes me feel even safer.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Security tokens will be the future on: December 22, 2017, 09:30:30 PM
There are already others around offering the same, this looks like a very low paid adversting from you.

Others are already doing this? Please name a few or even a couple because as far as I knew this was going to be a new type of exchange or technology offered. Disregard the way it was presented Polymath will be a good network for building security tokens on.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin just a brand? on: December 22, 2017, 09:16:51 PM
Litecoin is faster, monero is more private, ETH has smart contracts and there are much more altcoin with much more features, even Bitcoin Cash is faster than Bitcoin, but BTC keeps rising much faster.
Don't you think it's just because of the name?

Not just the name but the name now has become synonymous with cryptocurrency that they are inseparable. Rather more people know the bitcoin name than what a cryptocurrency is. I try tell people what I do and they blank on cryptocurrency and then I mention bitcoin 5 seconds later and most understand at that point. It goes to show how important bitcoin is to cryptos and in fact bitcoin may be bigger in popularity than cryptos.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CBOE files for 6 ETFs amid the chaos on: December 22, 2017, 09:05:11 PM
Who cares if there are more ways to short it, do you know what an ETF is going to do for bitcoin? I know it won't be directly related but that has to be some of the most bullish news one can expect next year for BTC and I would be thrilled if this came out sometime next year.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Bitcore- BTX - SEGWIT - lowest fee - hybrid fork 1:0.5 of Bitcoin on: December 22, 2017, 08:58:13 PM
Congrats to the winners of the raffle, better luck to myself and others next time!

--ypsi

Awh man I came online too late today that sucks I missed the raffle by a little bit Undecided. I would like to participate in the next one though any chance it can have a bigger opening like 50-100 participants or even uncapped? Alternatively you could run a lottery too in which people buy in I am sure that this would get some traction as well as get Bitcore name out more. That would be a lot better imo and the prize would be bigger too!
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: As of now, what under $0.01 altcoins have great potential ? on: December 21, 2017, 06:00:39 PM
There are a few coins which have went up the past few days but have a bit more room to go up still and those are: Dogecoin, Siacoin, and Bytecoin. All under the 1 cent margin all with a little space left to go if this alt party continues on.
188  Economy / Economics / Re: People are extremely biased towards bitcoin. on: December 21, 2017, 05:54:46 PM
You are right that most people on here defend bitcoin without taking into consideration the other side which is short-sighted. But we are on a bitcoin forum I mean did you really expect any different? Roll Eyes I know I didn't but again it would be nice to have an earnest conversation about bitcoin especially those problems that plague it. I do think though because of how big bitcoin is it won't go under because of transactions fees or block size. Those are issues that can definitely be figured out, and one all will want to see a consensus on therefore don't worry too much.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop is not on the ethereum and the waves on: December 21, 2017, 05:45:10 PM
Well it is tough because some have become successful but the other 99% of these tokens become quite useless. If I were you I would spend my time investing in airdrops for real coins that have real use case and purpose. For instance I am in this Bitcore airdrop right now as well as others and they are all great coins in which I have confidence in long term. Try looking for solid airdrop coins not tokens, I think this will help you a lot.

192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If a friend ows you 0.1 Btc from Dec 2016 ... on: December 19, 2017, 09:54:50 PM
... what would you do now?  Huh

You literally have zero recourse unless you wrote it down because if you use verbal threats you are threatening somebody same as physical threats. Now your only recourse it to hope that person is a good soul and returns that money back to you. Easier said than done of course and I doubt they will want to pay you the 20x increase that has happened in that time. Sucks to lose that $100 sucks even more it is now worth $2k almost.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people choose sides: BTC / BTC hardforks / ETH / other altcoins? on: December 19, 2017, 09:46:22 PM
We are trying to build as a group but most people are inherently short-sighted and for some reason fail to see if the industry grows they will likely benefit. Most people think that if their coin doesn't moon or go up 10x in a span of a few months things are scammy, rigged, and whatever else. I only can hope that more people see the world through your lens because it is not only healthy but beneficial for all who are in crypto.
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where in the world do you think Satoshi Nakamoto is now? on: December 19, 2017, 09:40:32 PM
I have no idea obviously but I can imagine anybody talks about Bitcoin or mentions altcoins or anything cryptography or cryptocurrency related that person or people have a nice big grin on their face. Like yeah that is me, I changed the world but nobody knows who I am. Supremo boss status if you ask me and what a feeling that would be Cool
195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin setting records, $19.8k and half a million blocks milestone on: December 19, 2017, 09:32:32 PM
I wasn't the first adopter but that is a big accomplishment that the industry as a whole has hit and I hope that I am around for the next 500k blocks in order to see what this beautiful industry becomes. Bitcoin the king, hopefully you will be intact and #1 that day! Cool
196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price after CBOE and CME on: December 19, 2017, 09:25:16 PM
I don't think the futures prices and the price of actual BTC are directly linked therefore the conversation is more or less irrelevant. Sure one can see how much interest big sharks are giving the bitcoin market but that doesn't mean they would put millions into the market themselves because then they only win by going up. This way they can win either way and seeing how traditional markets function this way it is right up their alleys.
197  Economy / Economics / Re: Economical World Of Bitcoin And Its Difficulties on: December 19, 2017, 09:18:40 PM
I hate to be overly dramatic about things Roll Eyes but I think fiat will never be replaced by crypto for one simple reason: control.

As much as I love crypto and as much as I dislike governments I must sadly agree with this notion here. I don't think governments and states will relinquish their control and probably will use their threat of violence to prevent this from happening. When you break it down it is basically like what terrorists do except in a more controlled and organized manner. That mashed together with propaganda and voila you have a mindless working class that has no problem being in debt their whole life. I hope that I am completely wrong however and crypto does one day takeover as international currency Smiley
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2018 Bitcoin Prediction on: December 19, 2017, 09:09:59 PM
I like the realistic nature in which you try to predict where bitcoin will end up. Most people will be either on either extreme of bust or going big but I too think it will fall in between those extremes.

p.s I liked the bit about that one person who thought bitcoin had an owner hahaha hilarious let that noob money come in  Cheesy Wink
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: December 19, 2017, 01:27:24 AM
XRB need Cryptopia exchange!

I would very much like to see Cryptopia add RaiBlocks it would be a solid exchange to add not to mention it probably won't go down as often. I also like Cryptopia because they trade my favorite coin of Bitcore, perhaps they could trade my two favorite coins together. XRB lets get you on Cryptopia! Smiley
