I've just downloaded and installed the pandacoin wallet and updated .conf in pandacoin appdata folder and get this error pop up box with the following message when trying to run: Incorrect or no genesis block found. Wrong datadir for network? Then the wallet wont start.
Any ideas?

I have a trojan horse from the wallet download page on OP. The "uploaded" site.
Keep in mind some antivirus programs have given false positives before, since some trojans have been written that make a victim's computer mine without the owner's permission. The result is safe miner software gets lumped together with the trojan as malicious software. You can also scan a suspicious file with online services like http://virusscan.jotti.org/en which show you results from many antivirus engines. This can help you conclude whether your own software is giving a false positive. It is helpful if you provide the URL you used to download the wallet and the name of the archive file. I have responded to your PM with a similar message. Feel free to reply via continuing our PM conversation, or in this thread. New build for testing is out which includes https://github.com/pandacoin-official/pandacoin/commit/f835285a. It writes the pandacoin.conf with some predefined nodes in the default directory on first init so syncing is near instant. If you'd like to test this then backup your %appdata%\PandaCoin, remove the original directory and use the binary located at http://bamboohouse.info/release.zip. This also removes most of the dll bloat from the previous version. DO NOT USE THIS UNLESS YOU'VE READ AND UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING ABOVE.made backup of my existing Roaming\PandaCoin folder and deleted. using my old wallet.dat with this test release. looks fine, so far! conf created with all nodes and currently syncing. |

Nice to see we are still alive. Is good that we are not on a shitty exchange now. Let us grow. My 15mio sell is not buy anymore for 10 sat. I think we are in a range betwen 20 and 35 now and I wll hold it. The good karma of this coin will bring all of us a good gain. Spread the word in the fake Panda thread and let them join the REAL PND. Go ahead Dev`s i personally agree a wider community base is better than a quick appearance on an exchange. |

the other panda is not going to last, i have lost around 100,000 of those coins in the last 24 hours just from the shady pools that are behind it. it's fucked dude, i figure screw it i'm gonna get some of both just in case but everything i mined over there except for a meager 10,000 coins just fucking vanished from my balance on 2 different pools and its happened to other people too. shady pool operators will kill that coin before it does anything.
Same with me, mined for about 20 hours, and never got a single payout, even though I had confirmed shares, I think the pool owners sent them to themselves. But whatever, that PandaCoin is stupid. This one is much better and is actually worth mining now  exactly man this has happened to a bunch of people, one of the pools pulled the same shit on me when doge dropped. i don't see how anybody will have any success if you cant count on the pool owners to steal your fucking coins, i don't care what coin it is. I believe you are referring to bamboohouse, in which the operator had no prior experience with pools. "To explain the screw up for payouts yesterday: On launch the pool was set to pps reward system. Due to the low difficulty our stratum got spammed with lots of small shares that couldn't be accounted for, setting the pools wallet in artificial negative balance. To resolve this issue I had to remove the faulty payouts from the db. This will leave a few broken hearts, but it was the only way to get the pool running again. why would anybody want that adaptive n bullshit? half my khs? wonderful. so then the only people who can compete are the big dogs that now have to spend 10000 for decent hashrate instead of 5000. yeah thats awesome. sign me the fuck up.
interesting, yes. while cryptocurrency had the advantage of removing power from banks...perhaps adaptive-n is too soon a solution that deprives the less fortunate of opportunity. time will tell. than again, you can always buy your favorite adaptive-n currency as an investment. |

is your .conf sure in user/appdata/roaming/pandacoin , same name of conf and folder? yep all in the correct place, i have added all nodes, closed and re opened wallet and still not syncing only think i can think of atm is checking file security permissions |
