183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your house for investment in btc. on: January 09, 2018, 04:12:38 PM
Too risky to sell your house. Invest only what you can afford to lose.
If the markets go down, you will be surely left with nothing.

I suppose you still do not have a family if you have done that. Not worth the strain on your relationship with your family if you have one.
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Dragonchain Token Sale on: January 09, 2018, 04:06:54 PM
Made my first million thanks to Dragonchain.. Still holding most of it though. Moved some to VIBE, HAT and MTX.

Congrats on making your first million. Aiming to do the same.
185  Other / Off-topic / Re: Everybody is joining.. on: January 09, 2018, 04:05:43 PM
Bitcoin is currently trading at highs. People also checking out the altcoins so much money is flowing into cryptos.
We are still in the early stages of the crypto boom and should probably pan out or be regulated this year. Lesser risks but lower returns once governments tighten up regulations.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you actually understand Ethereum? on: January 08, 2018, 08:06:49 PM
Have read some blogs and Youtube videos pertaining to the upcoming upgrade from POW to POW/POS and implementation of anonymity protocols.
Some articles also around sharding and zk-snarks to further improve the scalability of the network.

Ethereum seems a solid project for me with lots of developers working to make it work better.
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Kill The Income Tax on: January 08, 2018, 06:00:52 PM
Not really, in my opinion, it is the rich that can evade the taxes through crypto investments but normal people will still be taxed on their income from jobs.
Taxes are currently the major source of income for the government. Sooner or later the gov't will surely tax gains from crypto investments.
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are The Banks Scared of Bitcoin? on: January 08, 2018, 05:41:09 PM
Not really. People will always be needing banks for the next 100 years. Not until blockchain's potential have been unlocked will we not need the current state of banks.
In the next years, surely banks will adapt and find other purposes or maybe use blockchain to improve their services and introduce more accountability for our money.
189  Other / Off-topic / Re: ONE WISH IN YOUR LIFE on: January 08, 2018, 05:36:10 PM
Freedom not to work anymore - I really wanted to travel around the world with no care for money and career.
I have traveled a bit - Taiwan, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore. There are just too many places I would want to travel to.
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My biggest mistake(s) so far on: January 08, 2018, 05:30:39 PM
One of the many mistakes I made was in the same scenario - buying while the coin is on the high.

It was on the first BTC vs BCH iteration wherein BCH skyrocketed from $300 to $2.8K in just 2 days. I bought at around $1.8K (buying on a FOMO) but forgot to put a sell order. My gf asked me to help her buy some shoes from the mall. This trip took half of the day wherein BCH hits the $2.8K mark (at 12nn) then down to around $1.2K mark when I finally got home. My emotions went on a rollercoaster that day. BCH never came back to the $1.8K mark until the first week of December.

It was the second try I have made trading and lost a lot of satoshis then. Lessons I learned were:

1. Do not trade when there are real-life commitments to do.
2. FOMO is bad when no sell order is in place (got too greedy). Got burned twice to it (the other one was ICON).

Still, at the end of my four months, I have been on crypto I was able to grow my portfolio by around 600% already (most of it due to ETH tripling in value).
There are a lot of investment lesson I learned and I think we should be tested by fire to be stronger next time. (must resist FOMO and buy only on corrections to minimize losses)
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Congestion on: January 08, 2018, 01:12:11 AM
Can't wait for their next update. Scalability is really hurting the platforms when they get too big.
Hope there can be new platforms that can scale well in the future. I'll jump ship then.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Intel Spectre & Meltdown - Impact & Risks on Crypto & Blockchain on: January 08, 2018, 01:10:08 AM
They are currently patching the vulnerabilities. I feel much better that they were open to it and not late in the party when everything have already been hacked.
193  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia turning into a scam? on: January 08, 2018, 01:08:30 AM
Probably swamped right now with the boom in the crypto markets.
Wait and see is the right thing to do.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future? on: January 08, 2018, 01:06:54 AM
XRP is the anti thesis of decentralization. Just a coin to be used by the banking system to replace SWIFT.
They still want a piece of the pie of bitcoin.
195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding will be a risk or not?? on: January 08, 2018, 01:05:39 AM
Hodling always looks like a big risk if you are a newbie in cryptos.
Values will be changing like the waves in the ocean. You just have to learn to ride it until you reach your goal.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people try to create their own coins? on: January 08, 2018, 01:04:15 AM
It is to take a piece of the pie of the emerging market that is cryptocurrencies.
Total market is currently $800B, if you can even get just a speck of it. You will surely be a millionaire in your lifetime.

Some will just go for the profit, while others will be changing the worlld as we know it.
I'll bet my money on those who will change it.
197  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CARDANO analysis on: January 08, 2018, 12:58:28 AM
Cardano most likely will end up at $2 before the end of March once development gets on track.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TOP 4 CRYPTOCURRENCIES FOR 2018!!! on: January 05, 2018, 07:43:32 PM
Nice one, try investing in TRON too.. it's about 20 cents now on binance.. but the train is still going. We are heading for 1dollar atleast in a few weeks Smiley .. made 2000 dollar so far

Goodluck with your portfolio and happy trading!

Don't do this. TRON has pumped hard already and you'll be buying at the top or potentially the top. Long term it might reach there but wait for a pull back. This applies to all the coins you're looking to invest in, I'm expecting the alt market to pull back pretty hard now bitcoin is starting to gather a bit of momentum.

Expect the alts to bleed with BTC getting stronger again. Still for long term - I'll hold Ethereum if I were you.
199  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Manila: any Bitcoin centres or meetups? on: January 05, 2018, 07:23:49 PM
Looking forward to same minded people, meron ba mag organize, huwag sana yung recruiters ng kung ano ano, just sharing ng ideas or kahit isang tambayan lang.
Masyado dubious kasi yung mga nasa FB eh.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP is a complete fraud GET OUT! on: January 05, 2018, 07:16:26 PM
Make some profit then get out. Probably peaked for now, BTC coming alive again, should depress altcoin prices soon.
