What does the browser addon do?
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining is still alive and kicking! on: December 15, 2017, 07:13:10 PM
I am mining on my home server which is always powered on anyways and I don't need all the CPU power for the server functions. So I just dedicate half of the CPU cores for mining. Yes it needs a bit more electrical power doing that but I earn more than the increased cost of the electricity. I also put one GPU in the server and together they earn more than all the power cost for the server.

projectinterzone 1.5.2.3 - Updated Builds
https://github.com/projectinterzone/Windows-Client/

And now test Interzone Core staging tree 1.5.4.3

The project is developing and we are waiting for big changes!

Does not seem to be much more deveopment than a new version number in version 1.5.2.3.
https://github.com/projectinterzone/ITZ/commit/a191c97d9db2ff6f6dadf95c59a2a0b0e554a156

Where can I look at "test Interzone Core staging tree 1.5.4.3" source code?
I don't find the github page.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newb observations.. on: December 14, 2017, 09:58:56 PM
As an example I started mining intense coin before it was listed on any exchange. Reason was that it looked like a good project and it still is. I got 320k ITNS in 2 months. Maybe just lucky but I beleive it may get me rich if I hold them a little longer.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining is still alive and kicking! on: December 14, 2017, 05:02:39 PM
I bought myself a server with four CPU just for CPU mining.
Right now I am mining Credits which has OK profitability with CPU only mining.
Other options I have looked at is Yenten, Aeon and Verium.
There are also some cryptonight coins (good for both GPU and CPU).

You ca mine with CPU and GPU simultaneously and you still need a CPU to run GPU so why not mine with the CPU too?
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newb observations.. on: December 14, 2017, 04:55:50 PM
Not sure which category I am but maybe a mix of them all.
First I look for a coin profitable to mine. As beginner I used whattomine.com.
I mine that coin and hold for a while, maybe one or two months.
If it does not feel profitable to mine it can be profitable to hold eveb after quit mining.
If there is a price pump I might sell them.

Lately I have also mined coins that are new and not well known. They might even not be on an exchange.
I mine them while profitability is low. Later they get on an exchange and I have got some coins already.
Maybe sell them or maybe hold, it depends how I feel for them.

It may not always be the top coin on whattomine.com.
Maybe I just feel this coin has a good futute and mine it for a while.

It takes some effort to switch mining algo, optimize hardware and software for a new coin.
Mining is a slow and steady process so I don't beleive in switching too often.
Just find an algo that works well with your hardware and switching between coins using same algo might be a good strategy.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Coin tbat require both CPU and GPU? on: December 10, 2017, 04:46:20 PM
I wonder if there is any coin that require both good CPU and good GPU for mining?
I know there are algos that work on both CPU and GPU like cryptonight.
But I wonder if there is any algo thet is bad on CPU, bad on GPU but good on CPU and GPU combined?

I am thinking CPU only coins get abused by botnets.
GPU only coins get abused by peple wigh big multi-GPU mining rigs.
But a combined algo would be good for gaming computers with a good CPU and a good GPU combined.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining coins that offer masternodes? on: December 10, 2017, 10:24:09 AM
I am mining Credits (CRDS) which is a coin that is minable with CPU only.
With 5000 Credits you can start a masternode.
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Credits(CRDS): Ease of use, Privacy & Equality | Argon2d PoW - Masternodes on: December 08, 2017, 05:33:03 PM
Credits $CRDS is now LIVE on http://mnrank.com
Thanks for support!

This is nice! Next step is https://masternodes.pro/ ?
They want $400 to get listed.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Trying to turn an old pc into a mining rig. NVIDIA GeForce 210. Need help :( on: December 08, 2017, 05:29:35 PM
What is your CPU model? There are some coins that can be mined with CPU. For instance Credits, Yenten, Aeon, Intense coin and Monero. But even for CPU mining you would need not too old CPU. AVX instructions help when CPU mining.

But as other already told you buying some modern GPUs would work.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining XMR 4 days, no results on: December 08, 2017, 05:18:18 PM
You can mine on a mining pool instead of solo mining and get rewards for your mining. On a mining pool many miners are mining together and share the rewards between them according to the hashrate that has been submitted to the pool.

You can use a standalone miner like xmr-stak and put your wallet address and pool address in the miner configuration file and get rewards for your mining from the pool to your wallet. With xmr-stak you can mine with both CPU and GPU together.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crave: NextGen on: December 08, 2017, 03:28:14 PM
I was looking at mnrank.com and noticed that ROI is 253% today. But earlier it has been something like 80%. What is the reason of this sudden increase? And what does "NextGen" mean? Has there been changes not only to the logo?

Sorry for all the questions, just wonder what happened.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] Official Credits (CRDS) Bounty Campaign - CPU-Only Mining & Masternodes on: December 08, 2017, 03:08:56 PM
I decided to join the signature campaign seeing the rewards will be so high
I'm surprised there hasn't been more applicants

Maybe there is an error in the application form?
I applied according to all rules but I have not appeared in the google spreadsheet yet.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Motherboard for AMD CPU Ryzen 7 1700@4000MGZ on: December 07, 2017, 01:12:21 PM
thanks for info, Does OC the motherboard will speed up mining or just OC the CPU aloe will be effect mining?

If you are mining with GPU only then it does not affect mining speed if you overclock CPU or motherboard (I guess you mean memory speed). But there are some CPU mining coins that can be affected. For instance intense coin, Aeon, Verium and Credits (CRDS).

I am mining with both CPU and GPU at the same time. I just leave one core unloaded with CPU mining to get enough speed for GPU mining and other tasks.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What to mine today?? on: December 07, 2017, 12:49:13 PM
You can also check this mining calculator: https://www.crypto-coinz.net/crypto-calculator/

It is a little bit buggy but it have some coins that are not listed by whattomine.
Thanks to this calculator I have started to mining GoByte with my nvidia GPUs.
I am not sure that the numbers are correct but it is worth a try.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] Official Credits (CRDS) Bounty Campaign - CPU-Only Mining & Masternodes on: December 07, 2017, 12:17:16 PM
As of this post we only have 2 valid participants in the Signature campaign. That means they will both share 20,000 CRDS each of no one else joins. CRDS are currently valued at $0.04 each so that's $800 a piece to those two members.

Also we are in the process of being added to mnrank.com which will see our price increase pretty quickly. Time to jump on board!

Too bad I am only Jr. Member.
How become member?

Nevermind, it seems I am a member now.
Maybe was missing only one post :-)

We have published an updated roadmap for Credits - https://crds.co/roadmap.php At present our consulting developer is working on version Credits version 1.2.0 which will allow for an external miner to be used, and in turn the use of a mining pool. ETA is about 2 weeks.

Great news but I have concers regarding the roadmap which mention removing PoW rewards as an alternative after voting.

How is the Community voting going to take place?
I really don't want PoW rewards to be removed. I don't beleive the coin can survive without PoW.
It is also one of the very few coins that can be mined with CPU only. So I would like to participate in the voting.
It was CPU mining that made me interested in this coin and I don't think I am the only one.

What is the reason you consider to remove PoW in the first place?
Is there no option to leave it at PoW + Masternode rewards only?
Or PoW only if removing masternodes is an alternative? I think all options would be nice in the voting.
PoS and masternodes just makes it more complicated but I can understand that masternodes may be needed to get all the functions we want in the network. I like servers and creating masternodes but I beleive some people find it complicated.

Is it just me or are the wallet links on the crds.io website broken.. which lead to the github repository... which is missing all releases?

There is a new homepage.
https://crds.co/

It links to this github
https://github.com/CRDS/Credits/releases

The original developer left and it was then taken over by new developer. The old homepage and original github is still there so it makes it confusing. But if you go to first page of this thread and click the picture you will go to the new homepage.
