181  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: January 03, 2014, 07:34:21 AM
I think what I did the toilet is what I'd call a hodling.  LOL all caps telling us he's hodling.  Where I been?

Hodlcoin can not be mined! It can only be hodled!
182  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy]12 KNCminer Jupiter's 15 Sold [Closed] Jupiter Pool on: December 30, 2013, 09:06:43 AM
Looking into some various options for disposing of  the Jupiters, will update when I know more

Does this mean they will stop mining already? What is the foreseen date for this?

Unfortunately; i couldn't agree more. Not much transparancy & communication going on here.
184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt.Gox trying to drive up prices? on: December 19, 2013, 02:04:28 PM
What?! Are you talking about gox or stamp? 'Stamp takes 2-3 days at most.

How many times have you verified at Bitstamp to be able to make such a claim?

I have verified 3 times with Bitstamp, it can take much longer. Last verification took 7 working days, that's a life time in Bitcoin.

Agree, had to re-submit several times; and delays ran up to +7 days.
185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Beam me up (again) on: December 19, 2013, 01:46:43 PM

186  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: December 19, 2013, 01:04:19 PM
This is getting out of hand, I think everybody should hodl their horses....

187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt.Gox trying to drive up prices? on: December 19, 2013, 12:56:20 PM
Let's keep a moment of silence in advance for Mtgox death. It will no longer be with us this time next year...

Done!

Quoted for Future Reference!  Grin

A cataclysmic event that drives the price back down to 10 USD may also mean the end of Bitcoin...

Yeah, but cataclysmic events aren't sold at the corner store. Good luck finding one.

True, the ONLY real cataclysmic events which could have the power to destroy BTC are either something regulation-related (ban) or failure of the BTC protocol. Don't have any idea how likely these are of course.
189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt.Gox trying to drive up prices? on: December 19, 2013, 12:19:52 PM
I'm new to them.. what's their record? I've had no problem with them so far, except account verification taking longer than 10 days
Trading engine bugs. Also, it's next to impossible for people in the USA to get USD out of their Mt. Gox accounts (since international wires are backlogged to July).

thanks, and to stompix as well… is there a better high volume exchange? i've noticed the withdrawal problem and workarounds mean more fees through other 3rd parties.. please advise

Bitstamp

how long is verification process?

Expect AT LEAST 10 working days...probably longer. Make sure you send everything as it should, to avoid re-submitting
190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Christmas trading on: December 19, 2013, 10:42:32 AM

Thanks for the pointer, will test drive & if I like it I'll tip Wink
191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Christmas trading on: December 19, 2013, 10:41:08 AM
Thanks! Will definitely look into this.
192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Christmas trading on: December 19, 2013, 10:37:10 AM
Can I be so bold to ask which one you are using? I looked at Butterbot & Gekko so far. (trading on EMA)

the only time i lost with a bot is when taking manual control. humans are silly greedy monkeys, with no exceptions, remember. bots just follow the pattern of buy low sell high, can't lose.
193  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation for the month of December on: December 19, 2013, 10:31:38 AM
Myeah, gonna tune out for the rest of December and wait it out. No good can come from acting upon this (except maybe buying)
194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Christmas trading on: December 19, 2013, 10:28:05 AM
my bot does not care about xmas.

How much does a bot make?  Are bots more effective than human traders?

It depends how you let it trade Smiley Also, some things can not be completely handled well, like this China thing...
195  Other / Off-topic / Re: SantaCoins [edit: cryptoclaus?] on: December 19, 2013, 10:26:11 AM

My Apologies, Good Sir!
It is indeed the Season....Ho Ho Ho
