the voltage on ASUS can be regulated but not on Gigabyte cards.

My rig freeses as soon as cards run at 90C for a couple of minutes. If I only find a way to keeo them at 70 I would set 1000 and 980 core.

I overclock them with AB.

I have approximately ~10% stales mining for the http://bitparking.com pool. Have found 2 blocks since yesterday.
I also have some connection problems and I do not know what is the reason for them.
Miners do have some sudden disconnections from the pool. Not all at once. Any of them is suddenly disconnected and then it tries reconnecting and is back online. This can be repeated many many times. Sometimes it happens too often.

I configured GUIminer to mine Namecoins with Phoenix+Phatk.

Can you help me guys make my miners more stable (less disconnections) and effective (less stales)?

The best way to gain more hashing power with lower temps is overclocking GPU while downclocking memory while FAN is set to 100%!

My example is:

-Before mem downclocking-

card\core\mem\voltage\temps\fan\hashing speed
5870\950\1200\1.163\90-94C\100%\~409 Mhash\sec

-After-

5870\960\365\1.163\78-80C\100%\~425 Mhash\sec

As I've said I was using Phoenix+Phatk
Yesterday I udated to Catalyst 11.6+Phoenix 1.50
And here are the test results:

UPDATE:
Another thing that I would recommend is to change the thermal grease. I saw some cards where there was so much of it or it had already become dry causing overheating up to 100C with stock settings.

The 1st thing I've done when got my cards after testing them was reapplying thermal grease on all of them (used AC-MX4). After these manipulations I got the temps lower up to 2-5C depending on the card.

Your GPU 2 may just have bad contact with the heatsink or some thermal compound problems.

Just try downclocking your mem and post results. We will find the solution!!!

Cool in every sense Smiley Smiley Smiley

Thanx!

I'm thinking of installing a fan now Roll Eyes

4x5870 in crossfire seems to be tiny comparing to those server racks and mountains of HD58XX boxes)
191  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5870 Users! Clock Speed, Memory, Voltage, SDK and CCC Version, Flags, etc. on: June 16, 2011, 10:27:27 AM
And what are the temps?

I live in Ukraine and it is quite hot here now, so my cards with 100% fans do not go higher than 82C according to MSI AB.

I've got 1xASUS 5870 and 3xGigabyte GV-R587UD-1GD with core\mem 990\365 for ASUS and 960\365 for others. Found out that this is the best mem speed for my setup!
Wanted to push voltage higher on Gigabyte cards with Trixxx and AB but got no success. The only way is modifying voltages with RBE but there are a lot of cautions over the forums that any voltage manipulations with non-reference cards result in BSOD.

The wierd thing is that I updated BIOS on Gigabyte cards (had F1, F5 and F7) to F8. RBE shows that stock voltage is to be 1.163 but GPU Shark says that one of the cards is working with 1.125 core voltage. WTF?

Anyone has some experience in voltage manipulation with GV-R587UD-1GD?

With what soft do you measure your voltage?

I have ASUS HD 5870 V2 with 1.212 stock voltage and it does not want to go even to 1GHz core speed(((

And what are the temps?

Much less stales after update! Thanks!

What is so unique in hashskill that makes it faster than Phoenix+Phatk?

The CPU load is 100%! You're right BUT the solution to solve the CPU full load problem is to set cpu affinity of all the miners to a single CPU core. Such feature is avaliable in GUIminer and Phoenix Rising as far as I know.

Using such a method my CPU is ~30% loaded.

Yeah I was monitoring my GPU load while using 11.5 and it was the same.

If i were you I would downclock my memory to 300 'cause it results in faster hashing speeds and lower temps and also made the aggression higher up to 13.

Of course Grin

~99-100% but when I switch to another card GPU-Z shows 93% and then after a couple of seconds it jumps to 99-100%

Afterburner says that cards are 96-100% loaded

200  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Catalyst 11.6 + phoenix 1.50 + ATI-APP-SDK v2.4 (650.9) testing results on: June 15, 2011, 03:45:48 PM
Hi to evetyone Wink

Have suddenly found out that there are Catalyst 11.6 and Phoenix 1.50 updates out. I immidiately downloaded and installed them!
As for ATI drivers I uninstalled them via ATI's official Catalyst setup manager. And then sweeped them via driver sweeper 3.1.0 in safe mode.

I am mining with GUI miner using Phoenix+Phatk on W7x64 SP1 Professional. All VGAs are in CrossFire.

VGAs are 4x5870
clocks are (core\mem) 990\300 as for the ASUS HD 5870 V2 and 960\300 as for other 3xGigabyte GV-R587UD-1GD
flags are VECTORS BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false WORKSIZE=256 AGGRESSION=13

results are

423 Mhash\sec for Gigabyte cards and 436 Mhash\sec for ASUS card.
Update:
Changed mem clocks to 365 for all cards and got + ~2.5 Mhash\sec. Grin Grin Grin

NO CHANGES comparing to Catalyst 11.5 BUT with new phoenix 1.50 I have much less stales comparing to Phoenix 1.48!!!

Hoping that this info will be of any use...
