181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD R9 290X? on: November 16, 2013, 03:29:07 PM
Why nobody consider used 7990, they are the best value for money currently..

i am actually considering that right now, but i have not decided weather to go with play 7970s instead or the new 280x; i just cannot figure what is the best hash/watt i can get with what card.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD R9 290X? on: November 15, 2013, 01:53:49 PM
I put a Kill-a-watt on my rig today. I'm running one 290x and one normal 290. Together there running around 650 watts.

what are your hash rates at that power draw?
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD R9 290X? on: November 13, 2013, 12:59:58 PM
any new resluts on the 290x ?

I don't think I'm ready to sell my body for one.

184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD R9 290X? on: November 13, 2013, 10:50:10 AM
any new results on the 290x ?
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD R9 290X? on: November 11, 2013, 09:36:50 AM
nobody got real number? hash @ watt?

Read the whole thread man, I posted real numbers with a link to an overclock.net thread with screenshots.

Yeah man.. read 14 pages :-P

From what ive read the card is too new and cannot scrypt mine very well yet. Luckily its power usage seems to be its best feature.

I am waiting for the price to drop.

i read the whole thread, and your post, was the only number around. everybody else was just writing "i read" "i think" "it must be"...

so i am looking for more answers that are backed like yours. unfortunateley yours where very "testing" and I cannot figure what numbers acually run stable through the night at what hast @ watt

if you got stable values, could you please post yours in the wiki?  https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7990 Tahiti setup / voltage? on: November 11, 2013, 09:31:18 AM
at 27 euro-cents per kwh + going up next year it so much is worth it.
(or not mining at all) ;-)

that means your 7950 setup is working on the "high hasrate" side and not power optimized, right?
what about the 7990? do you feel it is setup at its speed limit, or more for stability, or for saving power?
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7990 Tahiti setup / voltage? on: November 11, 2013, 12:17:49 AM
any long term issues? upgrades?

what hash and watt (at wall) are you currently running at? I just saw the values that ronaldinho_07 posted earlier (~850W - 1150/1200W)

I am figuring if the 7990 setup will give me better hash/watt than a 7950 setup or any of the new R9 cards.
Any suggestions?

nobody got real number? hash @ watt?
189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this a good graphic card for Litecoin mining? (AMD Radeon™ HD 7990 Graphics) on: November 10, 2013, 07:41:08 PM
why would it only use the power of one 7970?

does nobody have that one in action?

(btw: is 7970 more energy efficient hash/watt than 7950?)
190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Radeon 7990 fluctuating hash rate.. on: November 10, 2013, 04:05:24 PM
anybody got some hash and watt at the wall readings from the 7990
191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this a good graphic card for Litecoin mining? (AMD Radeon™ HD 7990 Graphics) on: November 10, 2013, 04:02:06 PM
does anybody actually have a 7990 for mining litecoins?

I would really be interested in the Hash/Watt cause even if 7950s are cheap, they have less effective cooling (more noise) and take up lots of space, and price for 7990 is coming down as well.

I only aim for efficiency (power not money), but can't seem to find real information, just "I think/i heard sb. said.."..

anybody with hashrate and according power draw at the wall? (+ system spec)
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD R9 290X? on: November 09, 2013, 07:12:56 PM

The most power efficient card is the new 7990 (4096 SPUs) with 2x 8pin power. (effectivly 2x7970s with the power of a single 7970!)

The new 7990 has the same name, you can only really tell it apart from the old one by the number of PCI-E Power connectors and that it's 2x wide instead of 3x wide. The old one has 3x 8-pin power, the new one has 2x 8-pin power.

Yes it's more efficient than a 7950 by a long way, heck even 2x 7850s are more power efficient than a 7950.  Wink

more efficient in Hash/Watt? I never found any numbers that suggest its more efficient... got any reference?
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD R9 290X? on: November 09, 2013, 11:06:22 AM
Hi scyth,

would you mind sharing detailed information about your system? Board/CPU, etc.?

Still waiting for more info about the non x...

Nice, waiting for more info for R9 290 cards..... wattage

It's 2x7870s (2560 SPUs) on a single card that's all you need to know.  Wink

The most power efficient card is the new 7990 (4096 SPUs) with 2x 8pin power. (effectivly 2x7970s with the power of a single 7970!)

although this is slightly off-topic

which is "the new" 7990? is it named 7990 or does it have a new name?
is it more efficient thatn 7950s?

maybe if the answer does not fit here, you could reply here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=315620.msg3526542#msg3526542
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Hash/Watt GPU Setup, Undervolting on: November 09, 2013, 10:11:38 AM
If somebody can varifiy if the said model is voltage unlocked, I might actually give it a shot. it is a buy right now...

can you elaborate, what "sucks" with the boost cards? which one gets better hash/watt now? boost or non-boost 7950?

in another thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=301641.msg3527036#msg3527036) somebody says that the 7990 (dual GPU?) is the most efficient.
not speaking about price and money efficiency, is it more efficent hash/watt-wise than 7950s?
196  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Current list of 7950 cards that are not voltage locked? on: November 09, 2013, 10:03:39 AM
well at 180€ the 7950 is a deal... R9 280x is using high voltage, unreliable drivers and very little good information on the net yet.

so does anybody know if the mentioned model is voltage unlocked? (should I go with that, or better a boost version?) I am looking for best hash/watt !!!
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Hash/Watt GPU Setup, Undervolting on: November 09, 2013, 12:48:08 AM
new questions:

going for a 7950
right now the PC AX7950 3GBD5-2DHPP is a cheap deal. Does anyone know if that one is voltage unlocked? (for undervolting?)

in general, do the "standard" versions or the boost versions get better hash/watt? what type should I get?
198  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Current list of 7950 cards that are not voltage locked? on: November 09, 2013, 12:37:16 AM
I guess the PowerColor PCS 7950 is unlocked as well: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131458

@ Hamstorg and for help
(Most of the listed GPU are old stock "pre-boost")
-New Vapor X and Flex are voltage locked
-New GV-R795WF3-3GD is voltage locked

Many cards are locked this year that were not last.

can anybody confirm the Power Color 7950 (AX7950 3GBD5-2DHPP) is not voltage locked?
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD R9 290X? on: November 08, 2013, 06:52:49 PM
I am not registered on that board... but I would like to know the Watt at the wall.

And also, if those settings are stable for 30min,  24h.... (and not just a 2min test)
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD R9 290X? on: November 06, 2013, 08:02:49 AM
I get 840 / khash with my card ...

that's the 290X? whats your watt at the wall?
