181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can i create a new alt coin? on: December 07, 2017, 04:36:42 AM
Create an Ethereum token.. takes 5 minutes of that and your new alt coin is created.

No I am not going to tell you how to do that if ou want to know how just google it. It's not hard to find out how.
Yeah it's pretty simple to do that, but completely pointless. Without proper team and plan for an ICO and future, making a altcoin is pointless. No exchange will list it, no one will know about it. There are even 15-20 altcoins that are listed on some exchange still they are not known by anyone.
OP don't create a altcoin unless you have a plan for it.
What if the token was for a specific brick and mortar business and designed with no intentions of it being traded but more towards it being spent? lots of business that is not on the global markets, so why couldn't someone mint something that is just meant for local business that is not "pointless" ? Do the platforms support such a venture? (I think so)
The big question - My question - Why does this community overwhelmingly think its all about a global network of trading? Blockchain is more than just the exchanges and more than the value outside views put on a coin/token, the blockchain technology should be used to free someone of constraints, constraints from ill local opinion, and constraints from the blind in position of power, the blockchain tech should be promoted and used at every corner that someone wants to break out and use it - people should never discourage others from starting their own coin/token.
If you think you have  a good coin/token idea then you should do it, just my 2 cents
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to buy ETH now? on: December 07, 2017, 03:04:53 AM
If this is a Yes or No question then I have to say Yes - Any time you see it on a dip is a good time to buy, its kind of like BTC - it most likely will seek to reach an ATH when it dips too far down.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can i create a new alt coin? on: December 07, 2017, 02:43:04 AM
Just create a token on waves if you want to test things out, it is cheap and easy to do.

Ya I think you should test the waters and not spend alot while you decide what you want to do, just run your first token on testnet and see if its what you want, I would love to see some coupon styled tokens out there - just sayin....
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can i create a new alt coin? on: December 07, 2017, 02:00:30 AM
There are a few videos out there that explain how to launch your own ICO pretty easily. After doing some research though, it appears that it takes a bit more time and energy than expected. People keep saying "oh it takes 5 minutes"..like the first response in this thread. Those are people that have obviously not created an altcoin.

Here are 4 videos that will show you step by step how to do this.

Token creation part 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N77DCD0A5V8&index=1&list=PLH4m2oS2ratd-9s-x4rUkSKz_OE5sSvpg
Token creation part 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMFHESj6D3k&t=1s&index=2&list=PLH4m2oS2ratd-9s-x4rUkSKz_OE5sSvpg
Creating an ERC20 token - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHrQ3l2tT78
Building a blockchain - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baJYhYsHkLM

It sucks that this info is available to would be scammers, but it is out there, so why not put it in the face of the public...
I concur, creating an altcoin is going to take alot of energy and you can say goodby to your personal life if you want success.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoKitties - Ethereum's first blockchain game on: December 07, 2017, 01:55:53 AM
Have any of you guys tried playing cryptokitties? The gist is you breed cats and sell rare breeds, all using Ethereum. No shitty altcoin or anything scammy. If you actually have the time, it is quite profitable.

I believe this game only goes further to show the potential of Ethereum to reach heights bitcoin has never known.

I honestly think that this block-chain game is really the bomb. Damn! This is freaking addictive! Lol.
This idea is just amazing. Why haven't this surfaced earlier? Would've been really awesome if bitcoin had a game like this back then. Would've really enjoyed playing it with bitcoin. Not that i do not enjoy it right now with eth,  im just sayin'

Is there any strategy to the game? Or is it simply get a free cat and breed it with another and sell the offspring? personally I do not have the time to even understand how the game is played ( if it is a game ) so please someone playing answer my question..
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Network Crashing?? on: December 06, 2017, 04:51:47 AM
Ethereum Network Crashing and now leading to pending and long time confirmation. Can this lead to Ethereum fall?
No I don't consider that as crashing, the network is just congested but instead consider this as a hiccup because of ETH and ETH tokens continuous growth. There's nothing to worry as they are always on top of their game and fixing this kind of issues. There's also an announcement made by Richie for ETH tickets related in Bittrex.

This sounds right-plus the network needed to see a test before an upgrade (which might come as a critical upgrade if too many kitties are sold).
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can i create a new alt coin? on: December 06, 2017, 04:33:22 AM
It is your choice but it will be very risky most especially when it comes to consuming your special time i think the best thing to do is to trust the existing successful coins and start investing more and more so that you can earn more in a short span of time

How in the hell does investing in other coins get your own coin rolling?
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can i create a new alt coin? on: December 06, 2017, 04:31:38 AM
You can start donloading another coin wallet and then clone it; in this site and in the web you can find a lot of help about how do that.

For this: you have to find and clone all the wallets: windows, linux, etc...

Is better if you start clonning the linux one.

When this is over you have to create a plan....

Why this coin is better than others, why i whant create a coin, etc?

With all this on mind you have to create an ICO (Initial Coin Offering) and offer  to investors some winnings (You can find a lot info about ICO's in this site)

You have to create a web page for it.

Then you have to create here or whatever you whant a signature campaign, twitter, facebook, etc. and pay some in your coins and some in Btc...

Based on your Ico succes then you sent the coins to the different coins trade sites and if they like your coin they add your coin to their sites and then your coin start to increase the value.

This process includes some extra tools like a page for check the locks and the payments like blockchain for the btc and other extra elements.

You need medium/expert programming skills and some money in btc for pay the signature campaign...

i think is all...   good day.
I do not think you need to do all this, creating a coin takes work but all of this is not the roadmap you need to take to do it, if you are creating a coin for you and lets say for your local economy you do not need to get all messed up by trying to sell it to everyone, you do not need a web page and you do not need the sig campaigns and all that, there are many uses that your own coin can have, it does not need to be an international traded coin (or token), lets say its a coin that is proof of invite to a concert- why would you sell that coin to someone in another country that has no plans to participate?? coins can be minted for a million different activities and if you want to be in control of a coin (or Token) just go for it! it is your coin do what you want with it (I can think of some high cap coins doing what they want with their coin), a little search on google or within the major platforms will tell you how to get your coin rolling, good luck! (and let me know how it goes)
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA - the scheme is being pumped hard now don't fall for the trap on: December 06, 2017, 03:14:28 AM
Its good to see the old names still smashing about.. just saying..

And Iota... well I guess its going to make someone a paycheck - I dont have any, but those that buy in at .00037107 can probably make a little change if they play it right, I want to know though: will they use it? Or is it really just a badass pump that many will lose on while some lucky hopefuls win on?
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 100K$ to invest! What would you do? on: December 06, 2017, 01:24:24 AM
Hi,

So I've got 100k$ that I'm planning to invest, I shall say, I'm not a trader, I've never daily traded any crypto in my life so trading is off topic.

I'm already highly invested in bitcoin and these 100k$ that I'm planning to invest came from btc profit which I invested way back to 2013.

I'm looking for options towards mining, I've checked out mining rigs, but honestly I can't figure out what cards to choose and which are the best.
I'm also between ASIC or GPU, gpu seems to give more space since you can mine a couple of coins with them and get better profit from it.

If you'd have this 100k$ to invest in mining hardware, what would you choose and why. I'm in a 3rd world country and electricity is pretty affordable even in large consumption.

I've had 2 rigs with 6 x radeon 480 4gb, for 6 months and I'm not even near to get my investment back since I bought the 2 rigs for around 6.5k Euros.
and this is holding me back since I can't get a plain plan, as what to invest and what to mine that would get me my investment back at least around 1 year from investment point.

Well do what your gut tells you to do, if you like mining then mine (I like Gold and the thought of mining Gold is attractive) I am sure everyone has great idea's about how to invest your money, but I wonder how would they invest their own if this was their own thread/ I would buy a couple pieces of equipment that could pull gold out of the dirt and continue to do what i did to get me the 100K$, as for the card - where i am you need a MSHA card to make the good money mining, i do not recommend that route to anyone its long hours and a bunch of crap to go with it.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why so many altcoins? on: December 05, 2017, 11:12:07 PM
I remember this questioned being asked in 2014  Cheesy
and most everyone here has answered it pretty good,
I can also add that some coin devs or token startups might feel like they can do a better job at promoting a coin that they brand and market and use to target specific users, developers might feel like they can write better code to support a blockchain,
I know this feeling firsthand cause I had a great idea and started a new coin in 2014, there are many many reason's for so many different coins.
Which one has turned out to be your favorite?
I truly believe all the altcoins have supported the growth of crypto currency so all these coins are a good thing.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: )) -When are the CryptoBirdies going to be released???!-((Like the Hatchimals)) on: December 05, 2017, 09:50:40 PM
I think it's inevitable that we'll see a lot of similar sites trying to cash in on the popularity. A bit like all these bitcoin forks. The problem is the effect on Eth, and whether it will grind to a halt. Just makes the scaling solutions a bit more urgent.

The scaling is important but is on the horizon anyway so its just a matter of time, really though if I could build the birdies I would and I might test it on another platform, see how they do with it.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / )) -When are the CryptoBirdies going to be released???!-((Like the Hatchimals)) on: December 05, 2017, 09:37:41 PM
I think the Cryptokitties made a big stir and think a great game with cartoon animals like the Hatchimals would be awesome, with some sort of incubation period that could slow down the transactions.

What is your opinion?
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum at $1000 in Jan 2018? on: December 05, 2017, 09:03:26 PM
I can't any orders on etherdelta and today some big exchanges turn offline eth wallets for couple hours. Also Vitalik said today "i like cats game on blockchain". We need some technical upgrade right now!
The cat game https://www.cryptokitties.co/ is doing eth a favor as it will strengthen the community even with the problems the cats bring with the game.
(sorry bout your orders)

1000 is never out of reach
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoKitties - Ethereum's first blockchain game on: December 05, 2017, 05:30:18 PM
Its good to see the Blockchain challenged, and I have hopes that more non technical applications are developed with Cryptokitties being a testament to others, the devs have done a great job!

Any help would help ...

Follow your spent NEO, looks to me like you sent it during the site wallet maintenance and the site probably moved it while they work on the wallet, its unspent at another address - let us know if it pops into your account when the maintenance is finished.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / 10K brought me back to alts - when was your last post? mine-4.19.14 (as burnum) on: November 30, 2017, 03:40:00 AM
Sooooo in the heat of what i thought was the big jump in Crypto's I made my last post in April of 2014 (as burnum), but the fire now is hotter than ever and brought me back into the mix and I was just wondering who else has a similiar story where the Big Bang (10K B!t@h#$) brought them back to where it all started?

BitcoinTalkCoin, BTC haha, cool.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The danger in alt coins on: April 18, 2014, 12:29:43 PM
Got to love these one post newbies.  Any bets this guy will annouce a coin called "opensll" and declare himself to be the saviour of alts?

Well if you decide who's advice you take based on how many posts members have you are not too bright. I'm not going to release any coin, not interested and don't have the time.

I think there are alot of sock puppets here and this statement makes sense to me. OpenSSL how many hours do you think you have logged on bitcointalk? Post count does not matter, all information should be independently verified if your going to stand on it for sure, some of us have wished we had taken one post newbies advice at times.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: --[ANN] Launch: CatholicCoin - World's 1st & Biggest Religion & Good Cause Coin on: April 17, 2014, 12:31:11 PM
I say launch this for sure, go with less coin supply than BTC, maybe same rewards though.
You also need to choose how the church is going to receive the tithe, they like to make a scene out of everything so have them make a scene out of it.
