Why would anyone sell?

I bought at 900-1000sat range. I'm no whale, but it's not hard to see that this is probably one of the most undervalued coins out there!

I say give an originators fee to give an incentive for people adding new content, and then let others charge what they want. Economics will bring the level down to an agreed rate.

Wow lisp! I haven't seen that since college lol.  I'm heading out of town this weekend for anniversary with wife, but I'll toy around with it when i get back.

Hey vTorrent,

I stumbled across this project and it piqued my interest. I normally develop in C#/Java, but I'd be interested in helping out on this project in any way I can.

Let me know what needs to be done and how I can help Smiley

187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RADS] Radium - Bringing Advanced Utility to the Blockchain on: July 14, 2016, 05:46:34 PM

hi Pickle!

You have some good ideas, that are not stupid at all. It is my understanding that an authors name, the date, and other metadata can be included in most current picture formats. The system you describe with the serial numbers is very similar to the file hashing system used by Radium SmartChain. Every file, be it a picture, word document, etc produces a unique fingerprint, or hash, which is for all purposes works just like a serial number. It is 100% possible to add hidden data, such as a serial number to a picture, but it may not be necessary when a unique fingerprint/hash can be derived from the file itself. When a file is verified through the SmartChain, the finger print that is unique to that file is forever linked to the username that creates the verification, and the date and time is proven by the date and time of the block in which the transaction exists.

To answer the first part of your question, proof of ownership, ie who made a picture first, is one of the core goals of SmartChain.

The network of nodes that scours the internet for copies, however would be more difficult. Such a system could be circumvented by simply removing the metadata, serial number, etc from the file so that the bots looking for copies would not identify it as a copy. If the bots were to look for a unique finger print instead, the system could be tricked by simply changing one innocuous pixel so that the resulting picture looked exactly the same to a human, but had a different fingerprint.  It may be more advantageous to use a google reverse image search, which through some google-magic finds pictures that are similar, but not necessarily exactly the same. A second issue would be that such bots would require a pretty hefty amount of processing power, that I would guess (I didn't actually run any numbers) would make it cost prohibitive.

So in short, it is a great idea, that is pretty much in line with the goals of Radium SmartChain, but I can see some difficulty with implementation. HOWEVER, it does provide the original author with mathematically sound cryptographic proof that they were the original uploaded, which would otherwise be nearly impossible to obtain.

I hope that wasn't too much of an answer Cheesy

JJ

Thanks for the insightful answer!

I knew that other types of information are stored inside various images, some including geographic location and I figured implementation would be a beast Smiley

Thanks for taking the time to answer my post Cheesy

188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RADS] Radium - Bringing Advanced Utility to the Blockchain on: July 06, 2016, 07:19:19 PM
I wonder if it would be possible to utilize the blockchain to store serial numbers that are embedded into .jpegs or .pngs to authenticate ownership, then reward nodes within the blockchain for reporting illegal duplication of an image.

example:

user makes a picture.
user uses a program that stores an image with embedded serial number or unique identifier along with a date to verify that they were the first to put the image online.
user pays x amount of currency to request that the system of nodes scour the internet for copies of the picture.
those that find duplicates of the picture would be rewarded from the pot of money the user pays.
the program then compiles the list of websites along with any other information (domain, webadmin, location, phone numbers, etc...)
user then takes the list of websites hosting their stolen picture to a lawyer. (or perhaps it generates a template cease and desist letter and sends emails out to those webadmins).

just a passing thought. feel free to say why it's stupid Cheesy

Hi everyone!  I know the weekend has been frustrating for investors, and I just want to ensure you that it has been just as frustrating for us on the development team.  I am developing this project in an attempt to make blockchian services available to everyday users, and there has been no change in my dedication to the project or in the goal. We had a great Friday, and I am proud of the various updates that were announced.  Here is a summary of the 6 announcements from Friday.

Update #1: Collin-Bill joined the Radium team and will be filling the very important role of Project Manager.

Update #2:  Radium now has a blog where we will post official announcements and updates.

Update #3:  A full set of SmartChain usage tutorials are now avalible on the Wiki.

Update #4: There is now a community maintained Amazon Machine Instance avalible for rapidly deplying a Radium node on AWS.

Update #5: Radium node Docker Containers are now avalible on Docker Hub.

Update #6: The Radium wallet has been updated to proof-of-stake V3, and there will be a hard fork on 4/28/16 where the new code will become active.

If anyone has any questions or comments, please stop by the slack group and say hi!

JJ

Thank you for your continued commitment to this project. Your hard work does not go unnoticed by all.

Readers, its important to remember that btc hype is driving the market right now. This current price is reflective of that. One thing to keep in mind is that Radium is INCREDIBLY undervalued and is not going to be this low once this BTC hype bullshit ends... could be a week could be 6 months.. but it will end and Radium is going to continue putting massive effort into delivering original, purposeful functionality that we can still play an active role in developing. Dont be shy in slack!

And all this is being done without ICO funds and without Angel investors. These devs owe us nothing -- if anything we should be thanking them for advancing the technology VOLUNTARILY and setting a great example in a world were scam artist "devs" show up every day with a new ICO and vanish with all our idiotic bets.

Project Radium 4 Ever. Keep on keeping on JJ, Tim, and crew. And Thank you!

Can you please explain to me why you think this project is worth more than a $1.3 Million market cap?

Can you tell me why you think bitcoin is worth more than $6.4 Billion market cap?

Whales want to keep RADS down until the next big news.

Based on what?
the candle sticks @ polo

Yup you can see it.
I was hoping for drop back sub 100k...guess not...doh.
So we buy up 140-160 and hope for back to almost 300? Cheesy

160 BTC to get to 200k. I think 300k is a bit optimistic Cheesy.

Smoke and mirrors my friend.

"Whales" would have you believe that it's going to take 160BTC to break to 200k. The same whales would have you believe that you're safe because there's a large buy order sitting just under where you're at. This is how they give the illusion of stability, that a coin has increased in value and people aren't leaving it for another coin.

As soon as any good news appears, that wall 160BTC will vanish and the price will move up. It won't move of it's own accord at first, it'll be bought from the same whale that owns the 160BTC buy wall.

I think the only market that's resistant to manipulation is the BTC market (even though I'm sure that's still manipulated), but primarily because $100m can flood through the market in one day and only budge the overall price by 1%

The only reason i have not bought with both hands now at these prices is cause I already have and am out of btc. Factom is 22m market cap now, RADS could be at those levels in time and more. When this pops its gonna be MASSIVE.

What does RADS do that Factom can't? Also, doesn't Factom have first mover advantage?
Here are some advantages of Factom:
- First mover advantage in some areas
- Large capital to work with
- Anchored in the Bitcoin blockchain
- Microsoft Azure

Here are some advantages of the Radium SmartChain:
- Anchored into the Radium blockchain, which is a secure and non-bloated PoS chain that has been running for nearly a year
- The base currency, Radium, was fairly distributed with PoW and PoS. No ICO or premine.
- Functions on the Radium SmartChain are carried out with the use of Radon, a non-fungible asset, which rewards those who stake Radium
- SmartChain aliases/users
- SmartChain document storage
- SmartChain verification
- Radon asset transfer
- One Click Verify
- Some of the most user friendly software in the cryptocurrency industry
- All SmartChain services are 100% decentralized
- All SmartChain functions are highly compressed, while retaining cryptographic security, thus reducing blockchain bloat
- Project Radon is always growing and adding services

Let me know if there's anything I missed on either side.
I would like to note that we are not seeking to compete with Factom directly. Rather, we would like to see all projects flourish in a mutually beneficial environment. Factom has been very warm and welcoming to us, therefore, we are very warm and welcoming to them. As a community, please do not show any hostility towards them. When everyone works together, great things can be accomplished.

Aside from that i was really impressed by the number of developers working on radium. Anyone who has doubts of radiums future success should look at slack and view the activity.

We can always use more developers, feel free to join the Slack channel, we're always there to discuss things.

I'm finishing up a crappy little mobile game, but once I'm done I'll think about it Smiley

-Pickle

I like mobile games! Bring it to project radium slack and let us kick the can around for you!

-Boardwalk

I've got basically another week or so of dev work on the game and I'm going to call it done and I'll show it to you guys. It's nothing special, a simple game to help teach myself Japanese.

I spent quite a few years working on another game prior to this called rise of trolls(https://www.facebook.com/riseoftrolls), I did all the artwork and front end development while my friend/co-worker did some back end and networking. Things fell apart in January, so I started this little game to keep busy while I look for the next project I plan on going for.

I'll see if I can jump in Slack tonight and talk to you guys more about it.

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to give a quick update.

Once Click Verify seems to have been pretty popular,  judging from the server logs.

I just finished some major updating of the Wiki, with sections for tutorials and usage scenarios.  Feel free to browse that and refer people to the wiki if they need more info about the SmartChain. https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Radium_SmartChain

All the back end code for 2.4 is working, I just need to get the rest of the GUI where I want it. GUI work seems to take the most time :/

May the Force be with you!

JJ

What language are you using to make the GUI?

-Pickle

Windows versions of the software are written/being written in VB.NET/ASP.NET, and versions for other platforms are being written in Python (Tkinter for a local GUI, Django for a web UI.)

Best regards,
-Tim M.
TM2013

Ah ok. I do GUI development, but my forte is C#/JAVA so I was curious. Smiley
