We also have to consider POS.
Just an exsample me and my wife experinced the other day at the meeting with my private banker.
She was looking through our assets and when we got to the BTC thing she looked up and said..."What is Bitcoin"... I was paralized for a second!
This is what the crypto world is up against, but I think we could be the first to do this.
If I go to the bank with my savings I can max get 0,1% intrest... Wouldnt you think an investor would like to have 1% interest... I think so!
The most wealthy generation we have on the globe today are the 60-80 year old people and nobody will ever be that rich ever again, the world has changed.
Banks dosent payout interest some even do negeative intrest rates.
If we have a coin that would run forever and a POS of 1%.... I didnt have to think twice were to put my money.
But I could be wrong, what do you think ?
I get where you are going with this but personally I don't like inflationary coins... There is more than enough to go around because we can go infinitely to the right with zeros... and that will drive the price up over time via supply and demand... It's one of the major features I like about crypto's in general... I am so tired of inflation in the fiat scene the last thing I want is to see it in any form in the crypto scene... We have an infinite number of zero's to the right of a full coin... I think the mining aspect could and probably should be slowed down... There will come a day when we think back to when we used to buy stuff with full coins... and those with full coins will be the equivalent to tomorrows millionaires... And we don't want people thinking this coin is just a good place to invest their money for the sake of interest... We want the money to flow not be held as an investment that's the problem Bitcoin is fighting right now.... Is our goal to become an everyday used coin or a store of value? I get that it might attract some of that money but are those the investors we are really after? We need to define our identity and be clear about our goals and not just on the feature side... Maybe LitecoinBeacon would be more acceptable to the general public with a short nickname of Beacons... Then you still have the tribute to Litecoin and yet have our own identity free of the "Dark" aspect... Even the logo could be similar to the one we all like for Litecoindark just replace the D with a B... If you plan to change the name now... I think something like this would be more acceptable to the community. A beacon is an intentionally conspicuous device designed to attract attention to a specific location. That location is our coin in the sea of coins! "Do you accept Beacons?" What do you guys think? |

If I understood right, earlier: The general idea for possibly changing the name is to make it more acceptable to the main-stream and common man. Not to avoid any issue with "Litecoin" in the name. "Dark" is about as acceptable as a fart in church, to some people. I say its to early as well to change the name. We have a lot of attention on us with bots and fud lol so people want this coin. Once the bots are done we should see prize go up just be patient lol  I have to agree with Voodoo... I see no reason to change the name whatsoever... Just because you don't put dark in the name doesn't mean it's still not a dark coin... It's a tribute to Litecoin and its different enough.... If you really wanted more diff in the name you could go with LiteKoinDark or something like that but I personally don't think it needs to be changed at all... There are still so many parts that need to fall into place and changing our image at this early stage could be disadvantageous!! Just my thoughts on it... Cheers, Ghosty Can't say I disagree in the long run... The dark aspect make people think bad things regardless of the facts... but is now the right time to change it? And dark coins are popular amongst traders right now because if they were not then Darkcoin and Bitcoindark would not be as far up the ladder as they are... I say lets chase them down and get into that arena and then think about an image change once we have proven ourselves and have a major foothold!! I have just submitted my request on Poloniex to add LTCD to voting list so maybe they will add it to their trade. You an submit your own request here: https://poloniex.com/coinRequestI already did the same this morning I added poloniex to the twitter barrage on the Reddit... If you don't know it's pinned at the top of the Reddit and it's a one stop shop for some of the largest exchanges going and you can hit them all in a matter of a couple min... Please check it out and use it often... Here's a tip if you want exchanges who normally put coins to vote to add it straight up... Use the facts... Fact like how much volume this young coin is pushing on other big exchanges because that's how exchanges make their money and money talks... Pretty much every exchange will tell you they reserve the right to add any coin regardless of their voting system so that they can add popular coins... So when you are emailing these exchanges don't just ask them to add it... someone is raking it in lol almost 18 percent of the ltcd total not bad lol  It could be mostly from mining cause in the first few days we saw people with millions of mhs... Or a combination of things like Troll suggested... If it was mostly mined that would have little to no effect on the price. |

Promote your coin dudes.  The price will stagger if the chat is sort of mundane. Build some excitement using social media including here - its called PR!!! - its essential when building a coin. Its a great coin, price can go way up higher.. has lots of potential! Lots of new things are nearby. Just see what Troll and Litecoindark Dev wrote some pages back. When ready PR will come later on. Yes but the community has to help It isnt always necessary to announce new tech added to a coin to promote it. We can just promote it as it is. I cannot emphasise how much this helps a coin Promoting the coin is something we all need to engage in and it can be done a number of ways.... Write an article about it and submit it to crypto news sites... Promote it via twitter... Definitely keep bugging the exchanges that have not yet added it... I would like to see our coin added to every exchange we can get... Participate in the forums and on Reddit... Like and Subscribe there and on FB... Make a video about it... Make a how to video... Might be a dumb question.. But..
What happens when we run out of blocks to mine? Because for me it looks like there is max 4-5 months more of mining.
Will we go PoS?
Not sure it will go that fast but I think it will goto POS at zero interest so there will be no inflating the coin and we will get paid via transaction fees for mining... Don't quote me on that it's just what I think might happen. |

i see a lot of people here being proud on the big volume, but i have followed the transactions from the last couple of weeks and my conclusion is that 80% of the volume is due to bot trading, so basically air.
also both buy and sell walls seems to be mostly from a bot as it moves every x second to a new position, 24 hours a day.
I dont mean this as fud, but i just want to point out that big buy/sell walls and big volume doesnt have to mean anything. If the bot wasnt there this coin probably had only a a few btc in volume on daily base.
I disagree because there was big volume before the bot's got on there!! Please keep in mind this coin is just over 2 weeks old and most of it's features have not even been implemented yet... I have never seen a coin this young get the hashing power behind it nor the early volume!! There is no reason this coin won't get into the region of Darkcoin and Bitcoindark and make it a 3 horse race in the darkcoin arena!! The dev's are 5+ and they have some really good ideas that when they get implemented will really separate this coin from the rest!! Regardless I am holding and no amount of fud will shake my coins loose from my wallet!! I have learned the game people play and they prey on others by manipulating the market and making it seem as if there are problems where there is none... I've seen it time and time again... To make this easier I have created the "Twitter Barrage" over on the Reddit where you will have a list you can simply make a tweet or select one from the list and copy and paste it into all the different exchange twitter accounts that are listed there... http://www.reddit.com/r/Litecoindark/comments/2g82ux/twitter_barrage/Also if you know of any other good exchanges you think should be added to that list please post it in the comments section and I will add it... We've made some "small solution" to our miners, thanks to TrollByFire!
He send us coins equal to 6 blocks.
Those coins will be distributed as follows:
4 blocks will be paid based on % of shares of total invalid blocks mined by past few hours.
other 2+50% of our valid pool fee will also be distributed on the same scheme as a bonus.
We realise that it's not much but in this scenario is the best we can do.
Please keep in mind, this will be done by hand and will take at least few hours.

This guy wins Crypto I think this should be added to the voting list I voted for the Red version but I like the blue better but then the blue wasn't an option at the time... Some of the FUD got so bad that I ended up putting some on ignore. Got so tired of that fud.
I believe in this coin and am holding my coins. If anything, all the FUD has done is make me hold my coins even more than before it started.
