octominer can you please release chassis pictures as well as option to purchase with quieter fans or no fans?
Also shipping is included in chassis price but have to pay $50 extra if adding mobo and power supply. The chassis is the heaviest/biggest any chance its possibly to combine shipping and reduce cost if buying the package?

What is the maximum length GPU card that will fit? Is this suitable to 1080ti?
Yes, 1080 and 1080 TI can fit. The more important thing is the thickness, the GPU has to be less than 4.5CM and we recommend less than 4CM for optimal airflow. Length wise all 1080 and 1080 TI fit. |

I want to order but not keen on the loud Delta fans

octominer do you know if your motherboard is compatible with Ethos mining operating system? I know if its not you can submit the data to the Ethos team and they can add it to next build?
Works with ETHOS no issuees. I personally prefer HIVE OS and run my miners on that. |

Until the site is updated here's their reply when I asked via the site: The server PSU is 90 PLUS Platinum rating with an efficiency rating of 93.1%. It does not have a breakout board, it already has 10x 6PIN cables coming out.The server PSU has 2x 60MM fans that are high power and loud. The server PSU is very efficient and powerful but loud. We will update our website soon with the images and dimensions, all our team is currently busy with making sure that the new batch of motherboards arrive on time and everything gets shipped out before Chinese New Year. I think I'll grab one for my next rig, see how they compare to the unobtanium parallelminer 2400w PSUs. We will also have 2400W PSU in stock in March. |

Cool. One thing I'm interested in and am going to test out with the one motherboard I ordered is cooling. Rather than getting a case with a bunch of fans, I'm wondering if an "open air rig" with a box fan in front (and maybe in back) would give enough airflow. My idea is to get a metal rack (ie. one you can find off of amazon/lowes) and put several miners on the shelves. Directly in front of the shelves would be a stack of box fans - one stacked on top of another. Will probably build a wooden frame so I can easily stack them and put them in a wooden rame. On the back, thinking about having a bunch of box fans again, or just a big exhaust fan (the one I have right now in my basement is 3,000 CFM) to suck the hot air out. If you have a box fan, would appreciate any tests you could do with the 1080tis and putting the box fan in front of the motherboard/GPUs on the highest fan setting. I'm not opposed to buying a case with fans, just trying to figure out of there is an easier/cheaper way to cool a rig - especially running multiple rigs. Or if you/anyone has any other thoughts, please let me now. Sounds good. Open air rigs will work fine if the cooling is designed properly and there is enough airflow. We will be posting more testing results in February. We are currently designing an open air "rig" also for the motherboard, we will start shipping that in March. |

Would be interested in the brand/model of the 1080TIs that you are getting to do testing with. I would like to get some 1080tis or some of the new Nvidia cards when/if they come out and I can get my hands on some. I think we will be using an open air frame setup, but I know I would take the 35 db fans at 63C over the 60 db fans at 56C every day.
On GTX 1060 the quieter fans are fine for cooling but I think on 1080's or Vega 56's the only option is to go with high power ones that are loud. I am still waiting for my shipment of 1080TI's to arrive to do some testing with them. I will be getting these 1080 TI's. If you do manage to get a Vega or RX580 for testing can you undervolt them (most miners will do this anyway) and see what temps you get? Yes, we will test that soon and post the results here. |
