I think you will probably see them soon but they will probably need to look into security etc

184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do I buy bitcoin or litecoin? on: December 09, 2013, 09:07:58 PM
Thanks very much to everyone guys. The 5 coins it looks as if it is most worthwile for me to invest in is (not particular order)
1. Bitcoin
2. Litecoin
3. Quarkcoin
4. Stable coin
5. World coin

Does everyone agree?

What coin do you see the greatest potential in, say by the end of 2013 or even 2014?

Thanks.

186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do I buy bitcoin or litecoin? on: December 08, 2013, 09:19:13 PM
10% bitcoin
40% LTC
25% quark
10% wdc
15% cgb

Also namecoin and PPC could well be worth a punt. DCG seems undervalued but where did the dev go?

Thanks very much. So many currencies.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do I buy bitcoin or litecoin? on: December 08, 2013, 08:34:12 PM
If you feel like you want to do some speculation and even some day trading go for litecoin.
If you are in for the long run go for bitcoin.

Thanks for this advice.

I think I'm definatley a day trader.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do I buy bitcoin or litecoin? on: December 08, 2013, 08:11:20 PM
Net fiat of litecoin will always be relevant to bitcoin imo, so I would just go for bitcoin

Yeah I was also thinking that,

So currently my options are
Bitcoin
Litecoin
Stablecoin
Worldcoin

So what are your opinions?

Thanks

Generally: Don't base your investment options on on what people tell you here.

I would advice you to buy bitcoins. If you want to invest in alternative coins later on you should do your own research.  Smiley

Thanks for your advice mate, I'm really just new to it, I'm looking round seeing what is best and then I will decide where to invest your money, but don't worry I will have done my research before I invest any money.

bitcoin is furthest along to general acceptance but it already has quite a steep price to get in.
if you think, as i do, that ltc will have a role next to BTC or will even overtake it based on tech go for ltc!

Thanks, I was kind of thinking the same thing.

I do see what you mean buying bit coin, world coin and stable coin but I don't know much about them, what is your opinion on them?

Thanks
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Do I buy bitcoin or litecoin? on: December 08, 2013, 07:39:39 PM

192  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New to Local Bitcoins, help on: December 07, 2013, 05:37:12 PM
Hi

Localbitcoins are good if you need to buy/sell quickly as you can transact directly peer to peer without having to wait for long bank SEPA transfer times. That said you will pay a bit more on localbitcoins than you would on a proper exchange.

You can transfer coins from any wallet to any other and you will have a wallet automatically setup for you on your exchange/localbitcoin accounts.

I use multi bit as a desktop wallet and transfer from it and to it using localbitcoins or any other exchange that I have a wallet with.

You should never leave coins on a website online wallet, be it localbitcoins or any other, you should transfer them directly to your desktop wallet ASAP IMO !!

Hope that helps.

Is there any charges for transfering from an online wallet to a desktop wallet and vice versa?

Hi there.

If I purchase btc off Local bitcoins do I store it on the website or is there somehow I can store it on my computer (wallet)?

If there is somewhere to store it on my computer how do I get to download it.

Also would you reccomend Local bitcoins.

Also can I transfer the coins from local bitcoins/ the btc saved on my wallet to bitstamp?

Thanks very much
194  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How long does it take to get validated on bitstamp on: December 06, 2013, 09:22:30 PM
Ok, would you reccomend any other exchanges other than bitstamp?

I am from the UK if it helps?

I'm not a pro so please use your best judgement. I have 3 top exchanges on my list.

Itbit is my top choice but it's a shame they do not allow US traders. I like Itbit because it's based out of Singapore. Singapore is one of the most strict and safest countries in the world.

Coinbase is second because I think they are doing there best to prove to the world that there is a happy medium between centralized structured institutions and dark shady ally deals. At the moment it seems like they have government approval.

BtcChina was and still on my list. I like China because they have the volume and a distinguished grey market. Because everything is still new and the ongoing issues with Chinese money. I would trade here unless you are a Chinese Nationalist.

All of the other exchanges have to many red flags for me. If I must, I will do local trades within my community in person.

This is my opinion on the subject. I'm not some millionaire philanthropist so please use your best judgement in this matter. Remember that volatility risk and any/all the other risks when investing. Good luck.

Thanks for this. Does anyone have any other opinions on this?

Quick question, I sent away by id photos to get validated for starting to trade at bitstamp.

It has now been 4 full days since I did this, they estimate 1-2 days.

Has anyone else been experiencing delays like this?

Also how long after depositing funds on bitstamp can you start to trade?

Thanks
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Charge for transferring BTC on: December 06, 2013, 06:27:44 PM
Hi there,

I am wondering what the charge will be for sending my BTC from bistamp to BTC-E and then converting them to LTC and then putting the LTC into a wallet on my computer.

Thanks very much,

Adam

199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Litecoins with Bitcoin on: December 05, 2013, 07:02:24 PM
This is how I would do it:

1. Buy Bitcoins at https://coinbase.com/ (takes 4-5 business days and goes by the market rate of when the check clears.. uses echeck)
2. Send Bitcoins to your https://btc-e.com/ account
3. Trade for Litecoins
4. Send to cold storage (https://liteaddress.org/ or a physical litecoin Wink https://www.cryptovest.com)

Don't store coins on the exchange. If you don't want to use cold sotrage, store them on your computer and make sure your wallet is backed up and encrypted & your anti virus updated.

This has been very helpful, Thanks

I have downloaded a litecoin wallet onto my computer, would this work as cold storage?

Also are you able to send btc from bitstamp to btc-e?

Thanks very much

I actually haven't bought any bitcoins yet, but I was just about to buy them off bitstamp.

So should I just buy directly over btc-e?

Also what do you reckon the future is like for litecoin
