So let go the whole nine yards!

183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 16, 2014, 11:15:34 AM
Hi friends, my question is: Is it true this coin was 80% premined? everyone keeps saying this.. why? Then what hope does this coin have to be a success?
DRK also premined? also lying about being first anonymous crypto (Bytecoin is the first anonymous crypto AFAIK)
Is there any coin out there with good ethics to invest?  Cry

No one knows exactly what's with 80%. It's said they are spread among international community somewhere.
BCN is based on promising technology (better than BTC at some point), developers are active, new BCN community is working over public services with BCN implementation. So no reasons for BCN  coin not to have bright future.

Do you know someone why i have still error in my wallet:

Error: refresh failed: daemon is busy. Please try .....

Everything in synchronize block is OK, but I have still problem with there.

OS: Linux - kubuntu 14.10

thanks

Are you using latest binaries? I has the same problems few weeks back. Everything worked once I upgraded to latest wallet.

I compiled own from source code

Source code was updated yesterday (see GitHub), try to compile once again. It may solve your problem
Or use cmake -DCMAKE_PREFIX_PATH=<Qt_installation_path>/lib/cmake ...

BitTrex  is about to add BCN.

I received a letter from them today: "...adding it [BCN] to the list and seeing if we can launch it this week. If a few people tweet us about it, it speeds up the process". Please, support BCN adding to this exchange.

flower1024, do you think it's sorta secret messages mentioned on the old bytecoin.org site?

You should transfer only %walletname%.keys file. And while wallet opening use command simplewallet.exe --wallet-file=%walletname% without extension

Any update about GUI wallet ?
If I can know if nobody else is currently working on it, I'll make one. I'm really busy right now so it will take a while. But if somebody is already making it I'm not going to waste my time.
That would be great if you do this. Raxe.io wanted to work over it, but we have communication troubles.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 13, 2014, 05:32:03 PM
BCN were added to Cryptocointalk: https://cryptocointalk.com/forum/1362-bytecoin-bcn/  so we can discuss BCN there too.
And CryptoNight based coins have there own subforum now : https://cryptocointalk.com/forum/1359-cryptonight-cryptocoins/  Cool
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 12, 2014, 05:47:59 PM
BTW donation is right thing to do. I thought about starting donation for these guys: http://www.timecapsuletomars.com/donate-to-the-student-led-mission/ .  We could have "To the Mars" claim, just like DOGE but better.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 12, 2014, 05:44:16 PM

Lol 0.001 BCN hosting?

Somebody might wish the coin badly.

Or maybe they have a promotion?  Wink

199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 07, 2014, 07:41:22 PM
Merged mining is what crypto currencies need now. It allows to use resources effectively and as miner I would like to use this feature. Thanks FantomCoin for this ability..I don’t understand authors of BitMonero, why the didn’t they implement merged mining?? Huh Huh

Because there is no reason to merge mine with a coin that has 80% premine.

Can you explain your statement?
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Poll] What anonymous coin will succed? on: May 07, 2014, 02:19:13 PM
I voted for BCN, but right now I think BitMonero > BCN due to huge BCN premine.
I think this is best anon coin in terms of technology.
On the other hand Darkcoin is much more popular.
Both are interesting, I think you can't go wrong with them  Cool
Are there any details about BCN premine?

Well yeah it is quite obvious. The coin has been mined for years and still no official launch announcement on Bitcointalk !
We only know about it until recently.

Monero has been announced and many thread created.
You can also come on the IRC #monero for 24/24 support.

It's not about premine. It's about we are late for the train. BCN technology is realy cool.
FYI MRO is unfairly instamined.

Hello!

BitMonero hashrate grown a lot today. Looks like an optimized miner.
