As long as all of the major pools are PPLNS, people are not going to redistribute themselves. Poolerino is/was the only major one that is Proportional, but all the downtime and the fact that they were the ones that caused the last fork have cost them most of their users and hashrate.

Pretty sure the net hashrate is being misreported anyway. After all that pie graph doesn't show solo miners or anything (there are bound to be some large solo miners at the moment given the lower difficulty). And no way in hell I'm leaving Coinium this time, last time I tried moving I ended up with squat. I've been sitting on Coinium for hours so that the PPLNS system doesn't fuck me over this time around. Others can move if they want. Coinium just found another block. In fact most of the other pools have only found 1 block maximum, so I wonder who or what got most of the blocks at this current difficulty? I'm assuming some heavy hitting solo miners are scratching for CAT at the moment. It can't be Hashcows or Middlecoin.. if it were then we'd already be back up to ~100 difficulty. Also, a reminder to vote for Catcoin here: Coin Payments Coin Vote

Is coinium working properly? I am mining there since the last diff change and I only have 0.29 unconfirmed CAT income for ~4.5Mh/s (which takes me to an elegant place on the pool TOP list) Well if I'm not mistaken they've only found 1 block or so since the diff change, maybe that's got something to do with it. I've been mining there since well before the difficulty change @ 300KH/s and I have 0.8 confirmed and 3.88 unconfirmed CAT.

Well it seems that Hashcows kept their promise, and Middlecoin really is leaving alone smaller Altcoins after all.

Well one of the big multipools agreed to leave CATcoin alone maybe we can ask the others? Like middlecoin and hashcows to leave us be for 3 days or something? Maybe they can find it in their hearts! Hashcows agreed to leave CAT alone for a few days, I don't think Middlecoin has even been contacted yet though. Besides I doubt Middlecoin would leave us alone. This is the fundamental problem that the fork didn't fix: until there is enough constant hash to make the effect minimal, multipools are going to cause huge difficulty swings by jumping in when the difficulty is low, mining out all the blocks, pushing the diff up, and jumping out. We only have to mine 36 blocks now to get through the high diff, but we don't get many of the easy ones for all that work. Until the net hashrate is too big for a multipool to significantly effect (which means 20+ GH/s), the difficulty NEEDS to depend on more than just the last 36 blocks. The 36 block retarget is great, but the new difficulty should be calculated from the last 2016 block times so that fast 4x diff swings dont happen. Well from what I read in the Middlecoin thread, apparently they are focusing on LTC and such for now, because they realize that it's screwing over the smaller Altcoins. At least that's the impression I got, as people were asking why it wasn't mining the more profitable Altcoins instead of LTC. If correct, and Hashcows keep to their word, we should have a smoother ride, at least for a few days. Not much point going on about changing the difficulty retarget mechanics yet again, even the most optimistic traders and miners would likely bail at the mere mention of another fork. At this point we have to deal with what we've been dealt.

Guys, we need a lot more votes. Lottocoin is managing a huge number of votes, we should surely be at least second. You.. do want CAT's value and adoption rate to rise right? Vote for OBAMAs CAT!!!!
|
|
|
Well that explains the sudden disproportionate surge in votes. I'm not saying Lottocoin shouldn't be added, but if this means that another coin misses out..

Fuck yeah 180 CAT, up from 138 when I woke up this morning.
Getting some pretty lucky trades today.

Apparently even Dubstepcoin is about to show up on CoinedUp.

I emailed to Coined Up. Coin should be soon on this exchange.
Is that what they said?

Well I'm up to 147 CAT now from the 100 I had before this entire mess started last week, and prices are now recovering to boot. I'm pretty happy. EDIT: Make that 158 CAT

I was about to say that the upwards trend had lost most of its momentum, but there's still some decent sized buy orders popping up. We may breach 0.00065 yet. I don't see this happening for too much longer though. Of course I'm no expert. Meanwhile.. DOGE is still stuck in the gutter @ 27 Satoshi while other Altcoins are starting to recover. EDIT: And out of nowhere, a 9k CAT buy order @ 0.00064999 appears, demolishing that 8k sell wall that was there. Jesus christ. EDIT2: And now the other sell wall that was at 0.00065 is gone too.

Why did it go up anyways? Was this a correction or a bubble?
Well it's now Monday morning in Europe so maybe that's got something to do with it. I think it's a correction, though it may drop back down for short time yet.

There's some pretty large buy orders appearing too. Looks like we're finally out of the hole we'd dug ourselves into. As I said earlier, anyone who was selling earlier to try and cut their losses would be kicking themselves right about now. 4.2k CAT buy wall @ .0006 and 2k @ 0.00059999
