Hello Boon8, As there as little development capacity available (see above), we need this coin to be on easy to integrate payments platforms so that we can start 'selling' our coin to online (FairTrade) shops. Many initiatives are already on http://forum.fair-coin.org/, but lack the time or resources to get them started. If you can contribute in any way, that would be much appreciated. |

We would like to make a small statement here. Please note that I've talked this through with SmartAction and Thokon00, so this is a statement that we share.
Even though Gladimor references to not spoiling any surprises, I'd like to spoil one to you now.
People have expectations from the Dev team, expectations that are not realistic.
The current FairCoin Software Development team consists of merely me and Thokon00. We are professional software developers and with that comes the price that our jobs are very demanding. Next to that we have of course other social obligations. This leaves very little time for development on FairCoin.
We have the expertise and capacity to maintain Operational Excellence over the coin and the network. This means we can do some bug fixing and maybe even merge a feature or two like coin control, minting indicator, unlock button etc. from other coins. To make my point clear; we currently do not have the team capacity to pull off innovative stunts that will make this coin 'go to the moon'.
We are however still looking for people who really want to dedicate some of their time to FairCoin. Either by helping out the Software Development Team or supporting the coin in any other way. Unfortunately we haven't found many like-minded in this channel yet.
We will modify the ANN post to reflect the statement above as soon as possible.

there are so many pos coin now. we must do some value about this coin.we should follow BC and have our own mutipool.like faircoinpool.com and so on
I think we should technically focus on the PoS features of FairCoin (implement coincontrol, give a minting indication, unlock button, etc). But we have to have something new besides a Multipool. More multipools are spawning by the minute and the profitability has dropped to next to nothing (see http://poolpicker.eu/) - it won't be long before the landscape will be invested with ASIC's and it'll be pointless to mine on a multipool with GPU's - correct that, it is already pointless to mine on multipools if you're paying for your power (and power usage is in fact is a contradiction to PoS coins). So in my perspective, multipools are a dead end. Besides that we need to do the obvious; align with FairTrade initiatives. And therefor we need payment platforms to support us. So please bring up a list of payments platforms and vote on those! Then we (the dev team) can make contact with FairTrade shops and introduce them to FairCoin. Starting July we'll also have a FairTrade Product specialist in our midst. CoinPayments.net will probably have a new voting round soon. Watch it closely, vote and make it possible for us to build up this coin. |

Hi dev team, in order to help the community and faircoin,you must be more positive,i don't want to see the fac really dead,today some dumper sell their coins ,the price reached 200 sat, i felt very sad
i am still in and positive about faircoin. a lot of cryptos struggling these days and better days will come. can imagine than people who are selling now will regret it pretty soon.
I just got an alert from my tracker app that MintCoin (one of the most praised PoS coins) went through the 3 sat barrier. I've set that alert months ago just for the lolz because I imagined that would never be possible. Today it happened. Let me state one thing: anything is possible. So you may ask; is the dev team still positive? Yes we are! Even though our coin almost fell through the 200 sat barrier today. It makes we wonder though why people (and what people) are selling FairCoin at these prices. FairCoin has an active team (which isn't hit by a car, maybe we should put that on the frontpage lol ): We did make a great wallet - complete with installer and sourcecode - and will continue to do so. We had to take over a lot of technical debt from the previous developer which has mysteriously dissapeared (the dev that is, unfortunately not the technical debt ) . And last but not least; we will actively promote this coin over any Social Media channel available and we will develop new features for it. The wallet and network are stable, but we need the community to grow and fortify themselves. We can't do this without you folks. If you believe in FairCoin, promote FairCoin. Tweet about it, blog about it, give them to friends, vote on FAC where and whenever you can, trade them and try to get more of them (and cut your losses in the process ), make crazy fan art, do whatever you can and what you have the time for. There are only about 50 million FairCoins to share...  |

When will the old logo on coinmarketcap be replaced by the new?
A request to update the logo has been placed (twice). Luckily the link to http://www.fair-coin.org is valid :-) i will sent my coin to the wallet just because the price is too low so i dont want to sell these days.
There are so many markets bleeding out - doge, mint, usde, . For me personally there is no point in selling anything at the moment other than to keep the markets going. Great time to buy though, if you want to take the risk and have the money/btc |

Hi all, I just want to give a short statement about the Heartbleed bug in regard to FairCoin to clear up any doubts or confusion people might have. The Heartbleed bug is indeed on of the most critical bugs we've experienced since the beginning of the internet. But for this bug to be exploited at all some precondition has to be met. You need have all of the following configuration options in your FairCoin.conf file: -rpcssl Use OpenSSL (https) for JSON-RPC connections
-rpcsslcertificatechainfile=<file.cert> Server certificate file (default: server.cert)
-rpcsslprivatekeyfile=<file.pem> Server private key (default: server.pem)
-server Accept command line and JSON-RPC commands
-rpcallowip=<ip> Allow JSON-RPC connections from specified IP address
These options enable SSL encrypted remote access the RPC api of the walled (or daemon). I don't know a single person including myself who has configured their wallet like that. People who use this set up usually know what they are doing and most likely use Linux anyway. The Linux version of the wallet is almost always the dynamically linked against the openssl library provided by the operation system. If your system is up-to-date, so your wallet is! Provided somebody makes use of these exotic configuration, which might be true for the wide spread bitcoin but not for FairCoin at this time, even then it is very very hard to get your private keys. And if you have and encrypted wallet (which everybody should have) and haven't sent coins since the last restart it is impossible to get your private keys! Long story short, the ordinary standard wallet set up is not vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug!regs Thomas What I would like to add is that if you have the -server option enabled without the -rpcssl and are connecting remotely using the rpc api, you have other things to worry about then the HearthBleed bug |
