Had to reinstall win10. Installed java but I am getting this error trying to run NIS. I saved the Nem folder before the wipe. And NIS was working fine beforehand.
SEVERE something really bad happened: java.util.concurrent.CompletionException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: FAILURE_UNKNOWN_ACCOUNT (org.nem.nis.NisMain b)
Its a new one for me so I am not sure where to start
EDIT: Update. seems to be sorted. I changed nis.shouldAutoHarvestOnBoot = true to false and it started up. I changed it back again as it was running. Why does this line cause a problem?
When you're not synced the network really doesn't know the account you were trying to harvest with. Once it was synced it "had heard" of the account and it worked. |

That is not global consensus. It is a Patitioning, with exchange via free market pricing between Partitions, i.e. chaos. A principle property of currency is a common unit-of-exchange.

So again if you are running your own NIS and connecting locally to lightwallet via http://127.0.0.1:7777/ then go to package -> nis -> lightwallet -> contollers -> txMosaic.js and change the addresses and save and refresh. [/s] There was a known bug in lightwallet versions 1.2 or earlier with the namespace and mosaic sink addresses when creating a namespace or mosaic. If you would like to make a namespace or mosaic, the newest version of lightwallet (1.4 or higher) has been tested and works well. It can be downloaded at http://bob.nem.ninja/ and the password is "nem". so you can only create mosaics in the lightwallet not NCC at the moment? just to clarify, if Im running NIS/NCC I can also open the lightwallet via http://127.0.0.1:7777/ concurrently and create mosaics through the lightwallet? Yes to both. You don't need to have NCC running to use the lightwallet. Also you can use the standalone lightwallet. To everyone using the lightwallet: Read up on local storage ! It'll avoid some confusion. There a brief explanation in the lightwallet as well. |

Why so expensive? And who is getting the 50K??
At 130sats/XEM I can register ~15namespaces for 1BTC
to combat squatters. will the 50k be reduced if/when XEM doubles in value? what is the duration of the registration? the lifetime of the network? I'm guessing all fees will have to be adapted if the XEM price were to explode. You have to renew every year. I'm not sure if renewal costs as much though. |

That post. That avatar. Anyway, got my supernode up and running finally. Waiting for test results to come in, nothing yet. Tests happen every 6 hours. Also you should prob wait for a few tests to happen as the first couple of tests often fail across the board even for perfectly good nodes. |

Folks, I just got phone call from friend of mine whom I helped to participating in Xem. She said there is 0 balance on her address submitted succesfully for NEM redemption phase March last year. I remeber that everything went ok - she received 2250000NEM's - that was last May/June when I checked her address and said her: all ok, you got your stake. Today, after conversation I went to XEMblockchain and saw 0 balance and no trace of initial stake transaction from... Anyone to explain this fact? It's quite personal as her initial address was generated on my computer... At least post the public address so we can see. this is her address NBSNX4-UYEXVZ-JUKM6N-BSDVTB-A2TDWW-HIOCFJ-2S6J strange as it shows 0 and no trace of initial 2250000 income - anyone can help? If she really did successfully claim - and at this point this will be hard to verify cuz I don't think anyone still has those data laying around - then she may have been identified as sock puppet. |

Some of you might be thinking about getting a namespace for yourself, or maybe trying to squat on one. I have had some discussions and questions asked privately, so I wanted to give you a tip of the right way to do it.
Namespaces are not yet transferable, though we hope to someday make this possible.
Interestingly enough while namespaces can not be transferred, accounts in NEM can!
Yes, NEM has an amazing little feature I haven't ever seen in any other platform, and one that isn't discussed much, but the way NEM's multisig architecture is set up, you can transfer entire accounts intact from third party to third party.
This is done by make the account a 1 of 1 signer and passing the power of the account to another person. So for instance if I squat on the name "Alice" and later somebody wants to buy it from me, I convert it into a multisig account and then make the other person the signer. They now have full control over the account and there isn't anything I can do about it. This transfer can even be done with a neutral third party acting as an escrow signer.
So my advice is if you are squatting is to put each namespace in its own account, at which point it can the be sold and transferred to others.
The process is a lot longer and you would have lots of keys to back up than just buying them all on once account, but you have some security knowing they are transferable.
It might be worth adding that squatting is not going to be as cheap as on most platforms. You're gonna have to renew your namespace every year to keep it. You might wanna think hard if it's worth all those XEM to squat popular names that noone will ever buy from you. Ask all the squaters from other platforms how much they made with their names, alias' whatever they are called and then factor in that's it costs regularly not just once . |

What is the ETA on the fork? if we're running .6.72 client are we OK? .72 should be fine. Afaik .73 was only a bugfix. I think last I heard was feb 1st for the fork. Better to check the block count and wait for 440k as that's what it actually depends on not a specific date or time. |
