I think sgminer is faster, maybe 900hs with same clock  Well, prove it, linux + sgminer.. If you can do 900 on linux, stable for longer than 12hrs, i will fly over and personally shake your hand on my knees, and you can take a picture of that.. I say "maybe" read again my post 860hs with claymore miner 1300/2100 is great results You know what a great result is.. I'll show you.. Core clock 1250, memory clock 2075 , -69mV vddc. 850h Linux, sgminer RX 480 8G i'll run this on windows with clay clay, i will most probably hit the 900 marker and go over it if i raise that core even higher. What is your vddc with -69mV offset? I took a screenshot for you on windhows.  Here, clay clay on windhows. i don't know why are you stuck with the voltage thing?
If you can't lower it by -100 then you simply won't do it, the hashrate stays same (or even better) if i don't undervolt.
The point is the ~ 850hs at 1260/2100 with samsung memory. Thats stock core/+100 mem, which doesn't add on the power consumption.
On full stock 1260/2000 i get around 815hs.
Will put this rom tomorrow on my 5x470 rig and run with sgminer if that's whats "the thing".
No no, do it on linux with sgminer I want to see you do 800 + .. There's a thread from a client of mine testing a 480 4G rom i did for him, i got 800ish on lniux.. he did 850 with ease on windows.. That's my point.. The undervolt point is fairly simple. Card A has an asic quality of X percent (a low one!), which means it has an X amount of leakage, which means it can easily be undervolted and will remain perfectly stable. CardB has an asic quality of X percent (a high one 'yeah sounds weird..'), which means it has a different amount of leakage and will not easily undervolt. If you happen to have a good batch, your cards will handle that. If not, you will have systems crashing non stop. I had a very good batch of Nano's, i could easy do -125mV VDDC and -175!!mV MVDDC, on all of my 100 nano's, others with the same reference design nano's couldn't even handle -100mV MVDDC.... Again, that is my point.... |

Congrats, you have a card that won the sillicon lottery... You do realize that 98 out of 100 cards like that can't handle -100mV while running 1300 core?? Try this on a 6xGPU rig.. and while NOT using claymore.. if you can do that, i will say: Congratulations to you sir. Why do you think that 1300 is much when the def clock is 1266 ?  Also why not claymore ? Not enough power hungry? Better sgminer ? Why? Also im running a 5xGPU rig with -120mV for weeks now on ETH (145mhs)... Read your post. 1300 core with a down-volt of -100mV.. (which is very unlikely to last long (perhaps on a few cards..)) then you say: "for the power savings guy.." core 1126 <-- that's almost minus 200 core!! and you lower voltage by -20mV in comparison with the other one.... am i the only one who finds this disturbingly ridiculous? I was talking to a friend of mine, who is one of the few out here who can also successfully add vddc/mvddc/vddci offsets in a rom, we will, just because windows seems to be the the new thing in the mining world... , we will, as soon as we find a few spare minutes, we will setup a windows rig and play along. |

Interesting is that my Panda had default clocks 1220/2000MHz, not 1145/2050 as yours.
There's so much quality difference in those GPU's, some can handle higher clocks, some just can't. So i'm pretty sure that they came to the conclusion that those that you have werer not able to maintain a memory clock higher than 2000, so easy solution was to just raise core .. Which is ok, but will consume a shitload more.. Greetings! |

Basically it is like a free gpu.
Or a 9 gpu miner vs a 8 gpu miner.
I would like to see a low power xmr rom.
Say 5800h. And 880 watts or 5800h and 850 watts.
I have a good fan mod. And if I had a lower powered rom. Say same hash but 800-850 watts I could make the miner quieter.

I have been playing with Elpida (EDW4032BAB) 0.85v memory and clock for a day or so, so far I reached 820 h/s on XMR, It needs a lot of work yet, low share difficult rejection rate is around 10% which is bad, memory error is low, need time to improve, it has been fun, after this will be time to play with Hynix. Got an Elpida 470 4G, best card i've got, does 850h xmr, 30eth, 280zcash without a hickup. I always thought Hynix would be the better performer but i was wrong. (i'm talking about 470 Hynix, 480's do a shitload better, 850 without a problem..) And there's a serious difference in Hynix quality. If you have Elpida's, be glad, they are in my opinion the best ones out there! Samsung is very decent as well, got my 480 8G's at 800 (can easily do 840-850 as well) core clock 1100, mem 2050 and an undervolt of -120mV vddc. So in the 80 watt range Is this claymore 9.7 windows? I have a elpida running 1100/2050 and its barely over 700 on sgminer. Nope - he doesn't run Win anymore, I don't think, and I think it's on sgminer.
