Interested in X11?
[/color]

Here's what I'm using to mine it (do love BAMT)

You'll see around 2-3 times the hashrate (bare in mind, everyone else does too so you're not getting 'free' hashes) than on Scrypt, use around 40% less power and because of that cards will run cooler/quieter.

I, like Anon above, only know of Hiro and Dark so far but more are sure to come along.

despite how attractive it is, please bare with ZEIT for a few days so we can execute a successful expirement

My first transaction was at 6 of March and no minting why???

have you spent any coins?
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★█ Zeitcoin Movement █★ [ZEIT] POW/POS ★BOUNTIES★ Join Our Thriving Community! on: March 26, 2014, 09:53:41 PM
I tried this "walletpassphrase YOUR_PASSWORD 9999999 true" in console but says error. Also I Have not set any password as there is no conf file in there. What should I do in order to get minting

You and I have the same question
Hope someone can help us answer
Wish us luck Smiley

if you did not set a password then your wallet is not locked and you dont need to do that

if you dont understand semantics please use google

i will throw my 10Mh/s back at it

we need a community effort to test this

I would throw the rig's hashing power back on it, but need to stick to X11 coins at the moment. Running 4x 290's from 1,650W is pushing the PSUs quite hard on Scrypt, with X11 it's almost half the power usage!
Do like X11, very efficient algo.
What coins are with X11?Huh

Hirocoin and darkcoin

i was on X11 also, but just for the sake of experimentation and to show selflessness, please join in
we only need 2-3 days to see if there is any notable impact on the market

i actually got the idea of doing this from watching hirocoin increase in difficulty and in value
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★█ Zeitcoin Movement █★ [ZEIT] POW/POS ★BOUNTIES★ Join Our Thriving Community! on: March 26, 2014, 08:48:04 PM
i have a theory, what if we caused the drop in value because less people mined, creating a feedback loop of miners willing to sell lower and lower as they got more coins from lower difficulty?

I think we should try increasing the network hashrate to 10Gh/s and see if a rise in value follows from miners holding their coins until more profitable to sell.

explain a bit more please?

by giving up on mining our coin, we left it to those who seek profit only, increasing the amount of coins they get by lowering difficulty, thus increasing the amount of supply on exchanges
what if we tried to reverse that, get those who seek profit off our coin and reduce the amount of coins individuals get for better distribution, would we see less coins on exchanges?

so start mining again? it makes sense to us who have 10's of mills for that to happen, im in. Smiley

Soz guys, my feeble 1.3Mh/s is staying on VertCoin Sad

For one, I'm not convinced by this strategy - or even how you'll know if YOUR efforts have changed anything.

For two, I need as much ammo as I can get for Z-28:03

we will know, if the network hashrate stabilizes back to profitable levels, we know those not part of the community have left, if not we will be able to measure the impact of this lower profitability over time on the market.

I think it makes sense, more distribution, less dumpers, higher target price in miners mind for profitability.

ZION! lets show them our might, i dont want to make more then 1/5 of what i normally make, so 1Mh/s on ZEIT will get me 0.0014BTC/day
MAKE IT SO

i have a stock of ammo ready for friday

people please vote for ZEIT

also keep putting some pressure on those walls, start putting some more upwards pressure on cryptsy, this will get some on mintpal to move their wall
i gave it a slight boost with 20LTC

I think you have a point about Zeitcoin needing something extra behind it - that takes time. There's a lot that want to make a quick buck that damages the concept of BitCoin and certainly kicks the legs from under the AltCoin movement by adding nothing of benefit. For those of us that believe we can make a difference well we are prepared to give it time. I myself tend to think alone till I have something of relevance to add. As of yet I do not have an answer but what I do have is resources, it's just how best to use them, and I choose Zeitcoin as my altcoin of choice. The rest for me are investments for Zeit. I was actually going to start my own altcoin for a climate controlled project idea I am doing with Lancaster University to bring nutritious vegetables to the 3rd world (and anywhere else for that matter) but when I saw Zeitcoin I thought I'd give it time and see I could bring it in on this project instead, help the movement but also benefit from it's popularity to push the project forward. Presently we are testing the eco-efficiency of lighting spectrums on plant growth so for the time being I will watch patiently and help prop Zeit up where possible from the coin dumpers (it's getting expensive!). Once I've got my house move out of the way I can then focus more on what I'd like to do to help the devs but more importantly the movement. Yes, I am aware that Zeitcoin is a little contradictory to the Zeitgeist movement (capitalism etc.). I see it as a necessary tool required to get onboard a growing element of the worlds society that is looking for a way to find true freedom or at least truth and at the same time, integrate into and so as away from our existing financial system (the debt slave). We all need to eat as I'm sure you understand, I just mention it because it's time for breakfast and on the top of my list of things to do after I click 'Post'. I trust sharing this information with you shows you that a number of us are serious. BTW if anyone is interested to learn about my project and give me feedback as to whether it would benefit Zeitcoin at all, that would be great. I am on the fence at present due to house move and other business related things :O)

Personally I think whomever is dumping at 2 is good news as long as we keep the 2 buy wall up. It's distributing away from the risk of it happening higher up with lesser amounts. They can have all the insider information they want from the forum. The don't have mine and I'm sure they won't have a number others so only part of the information is useless but helps us guys that work together achieve small milestones and the rest we learn as we move along. Also, if they were reading, wouldn't it make sense to hold for friday's pump rather than sell last night. I'd guess at new asics miners in China, with no particular care about altcoins or anything other than profit, mining and dumping, as the block halve they'll move off. Be really glad that this is a short distribution on POW because asics would have killed it without a fork and a rebuild for Scrypt-N or Jane which I suggested in the beginning. Just a thought but who knows! Bacon butty time...

great to know some others are working projects and planning to do so in support and supported from Zeitcoin.

i want to do something about this

provide people with low cost tests to determine blood content, water content, food content
provide people with low cost air and water filtration
provide people with low cost self-sufficiency, food, energy, water, shelter
provide people with the ability to build all of the above themselves and develop improvements or their own technology at low cost.

i think i know how to go about this but i need to build experiments to prove my ideas, all of it requires micro-manufacturing capability's in order to do it at low costs.
i have plans for such capability's but dont have the financial means to go forward.

would the public be willing to fund someone interested in fixing the world and developing the technology to get the masses involved
i am not interested in profit, all i want is to see everyone better off and the freedom to build and continue the expansion of my knowledge and skills.

I got my first failed (grey) mint transaction.
It was during a time that my Internet connection was very busy and the latency was high. That can explain why some other minted block succeeded. I think the faster you can propagate your block on the network, the better your chances. Those of you with a lot of failed blocks check your internet connection latency and how many nodes you are connected to.

In the end it shouldn't really matter, the wallet will retry

I bought some more at 2, tried dropping down into the 1btc but just missed, anyone else got 0.04btc todo this??? we could be at 3sat within a few hours

I could throw another 0.2 to 0.4 at it.
I am watching my PoS and its not minting anything ... not sure what is wrong.

After I see my minted coins I'll get back at the wall Smiley
How long does it take to start minting or showing up in the UI (is there a way to see if its actually minting ?)

20days from first deposit in zeit wallet, may take a few days more just depends but it will mint! there are plenty others who are minting at the moment Smiley so if you wallet is unlocked and has been working, it will come just be patient.

Ok Thanks, I wasn't sure how fast or slow the processes was.
I was too anxious to lock my wallet, I guess I've to leave it unlocked a lot longer than I would like Smiley

you can unlock specifically for minting, this keeps it locked for spending

walletpassphrase passphrase timeout mintonlytrueorfalse
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: IMPORTANT DATA: Leaving the PoW Mining and Why... on: March 25, 2014, 04:23:22 AM
PoS works using TXO-age, technically that is coin-age, but to avoid confusion it should be noted that it is the TXO that are relevant.

PoS blocks take all TXO that meet the minimum age(not coin-age or TXO-age, specifically TXO age, no "-" means not multiplied with amount), makes a transaction that inputs your stake coins and outputs new coins(this uses TXO-age) plus the old coins.
This becomes a new TXO.

There is no finding PoS blocks, you generate a PoS block with the transaction pool and propagate the block, it becomes valid if other nodes generating blocks accept it and use its hash for the next block.
It can become orphaned depending on timing and propagation speed, in such case the stake transaction is invalid and your wallet will try again to generate the PoS block with the same TXO's.

1) Here's the big problem on the markets -

IGNORANT, LAZY HAMS who don't know wft they're doing Sad  Sad   Sad

2) As I read the OP, PoW DOES NOT end - ever.

PoS will generate far more coin than mining, yes, but over a million coins/year (Net Total) WILL still be shared amongst those mining it.

Will they mine it?

That's the key question.

For our coin to 'succeed', it is essential that even at 1/block, it is still seen as worth mining.

That's less than a month away.

We won't have any huge, mass market publicity by then. Best we can hope for is a forum, a new logo & a wallet upgrade to make mining more user-friendly.

I would urge everyone who cares about the future of Zeit to mine other coins - especially those which have some resonance with our ideals - and BUY BUY BUY to knock down those sell-walls.

I added 880,000 Zeit to my wallet over the weekend doing that, the 2-wall is vulnerable, once we get some momentum going, take-off is assured.

I suggest amassing BTC for several days & making a 'community effort' to attack the wall on say, Friday night.

Anyone up for it?

im going to attack the wall in a few days, cavirtex is being slow with my deposit.
