181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum be taking 1st place in 2020? on: March 05, 2020, 05:29:04 PM
This is a no for me at the moment unless the Ethereum foundation as well as its community decide to adjust some few stuffs about ETH.
1. Capping the total supply
2. Reducing the number of ETH required for users to be validators over their upcoming PoS network.

Though the price of ETH is likely going to increase as we continue to approach the launch of their Proof of Stake Network but i doubt it would out perform that of Bitcoin halving.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here we go again on: March 04, 2020, 04:36:01 PM
This is surely a positive news for all the blockchain firms, startups that are in India. This attitude might influence some countries that are very hostile to cryptocurrencies and its usage. All these together contribute to mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Bitcoin and Altcoins bullish together on: March 04, 2020, 04:13:21 PM
Bitcoin has over 60% dominance over the crypto market therefore increase in the price of bitcoin influences that of altcoins also. However, we are likely to see a different trend this year. Most altcoins failed after the market started crashing in 2018 so people are now going mostly all in on Bitcoin. I would not be surprise if Bitcoin bull run does not affect most altcoins this time around. Maybe the ones with good use case and working products might move along. Coins like $LINK, $DIVI, $ONE.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Australian court allowed cryptocurrency usage as collateral. on: March 02, 2020, 11:16:11 PM
Though this is not what we really expect but at least it shows some positive attention from the side of the government and i think it's good. So Australia now recognizes it as an asset hence it can be used as collateral representing value. I think in the near future we might see some more countries legalizing bitcoin as a currency and an asset.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency will not replace fiat currency on: March 02, 2020, 04:28:23 PM
The reality on the ground is that, though Satoshi had it in mind creating a decentralized cryptocurrency the low supply of bitcoin also make it decent enough to invest into. So there are two communities now: those using bitcoin as a currency and those investing in as an asset. You have to choose where you belong. There are online market stores that accept bitcoin as payment whereas there are platforms like Stakecube that allows users to hold their bitcoin for profits after a period of time.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RECENTL CHEATING OF yobit exchange on: March 01, 2020, 06:00:05 PM
Yobit has never been a trusted exchange in any of its dealing ever since i go to know them. I would advise that whatever thing you happen to do for them in the near future be very careful and do your own research first before doing anything. Moreover i am not sure those 700 tokens would have been worth anything much.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please help! Is this scam or not? on: March 01, 2020, 10:57:14 AM
I am not sure
But I think it is 99% scam
These are tricks they use mate, together with a couple of others I would try and list here.
1. Some might plead that you help them withdraw their funds from an exchange platform and they would give you a portion of it (most likely a decent amount to lure you)
2. Others would show you tricks on a Casino platform and how they can make you win. The evidences he/she would show will surely be true but do not fall for this as well, they will take away your money.
3. Some would also tell you that the funds are for gas fees, this is also scam! Ask yourself, which decent project does not have just $100 to use as gas fees in the development of their project.

I would add more as they come in mind, need to hit the road to run some errands for the wife!
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone trading Stellar coin? on: March 01, 2020, 10:18:53 AM
Yeah, I use to day trade on Stellar Lumens sometime back but now I have stopped because of the low return on investment. The stellar team are not doing much in my perspective to bring about increase development and growth of the project. Unlike TRON and XRP which are putting several developments in place to see their coin grow gradually.
189  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia Exchange on: March 01, 2020, 09:57:09 AM
Cryptopia was one of the top level exchange when i started trade in crypto world. For security reason they temporary shut down their services (If i'm not wrong). Month ago they announce some news but is there any hope they will come back again..? If they'll not then what will happen to those fund that many people reserve in the exchange..? (I have also some altcoin in cryptopia exchange  Embarrassed Embarrassed )

here is the last announcement from them: https://www.grantthornton.co.nz/update-for-cryptopia-account-holders-25-October-2019/

I share your frustration mate Sad. I had some amount of funds stored up in that exchange and I was pretty occupied with helping my granny get back from a disease. When i got to know about this I was very worried as i planned to get that funds out as soon as possible. I guess it's high time we actually practice what we preach and that is "Never save any funds at an exchange". Hope we all pic a cue from this.
190  Economy / Exchanges / Re: A new virus is attacking Google 2FA app on: February 28, 2020, 04:34:54 PM
OMG! this is serious   Sad i thought google authentication was one of the best ways of securing your crypto accounts and wallets but this does not seem to be the case anymore. Anyway, how does this actually get to spread. Does this malware spread through any network or these hackers can send it through your mail or probably they can embed it in any other google app for users to download without their knowledge.
I believe if we can know how exactly this is spread we can avoid catching this malware in the first place.
191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is oversold on: February 28, 2020, 11:46:45 AM
The entire crypto market is very volatile at the moment. Stocks are going down to the decreased economic production in China mainly and other parts of Europe that have been affected with Coronavirus. I for instance had to sell some bitcoins this morning because i want to have enough cash on me just in case there is some lock down in my country as well.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency vs. Fiat currency. on: February 28, 2020, 07:25:41 AM
I prefer to use cryptocurrency more than fiat because is faster, safer and with the recent spread of the deadly coronavirus you can be rest assured that the use of fiat currencies has several disadvantages. I can't use cryptocurrencies that much for any transaction because it's barely used in my country but i believe in the near future cryptocurrencies would take over the payment system.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a failed experiment? on: February 27, 2020, 10:29:37 AM
No, bitcoin has moved from an experiment to a solution and it has not failed, it is thriving and once mass adoption is achieved we can say it has become a big success. Do you know the number of bitcoin ATMs that have been developed across the world or the number of online platforms that are accepting bitcoin as mode of payment? You can decide to sell your holdings if you think bitcoin is a failed attempt. I would be happy to buy cheap!
194  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can I buy bitcoins from anywhere without crazy ID verification? on: February 27, 2020, 05:20:58 AM
Yeah, aside Local bitcoins and bisq that some members are suggesting you can also try a very reputable Over-the-Counter point of sale that a friend introduced to me. Their Know your customer process is very simple. Just upload any ID special photos of yours and they are okay. Note that it's safe to trade on such platforms than just trading on any platform.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to secure your asset in forkdelta? on: February 25, 2020, 05:16:26 PM
No offence but i highly strike off trading on forkdelta exchange if you want to secure you assets. There are so many clone sites which can lead you to logging in with your private key and later giving hackers the access to your wallet. I got hacked once when i tried using their platforms to trade my tokens. Stay off it and save your assets, it's that simple.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has Blockchain Technology revolution is successful or not? on: February 25, 2020, 09:57:58 AM
I think it's too early to draw such analysis because the blockchain technology is still young though it has seen great improvement and adoption in the last decade. Many crypto enthusiasts are very optimistic about the growth of this industry but let's not forget that governments have some level of power to obstruct its progress. Hopefully, US and China would establish friendly laws to enhance blockchain technology growth. Sometimes some of the developing countries are waiting for the advanced and developed ones to take the lead so that they can follow.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't just hold your altcoins for a long time! on: February 25, 2020, 09:23:21 AM
This is quite subjective and it depends mainly on the type of altcoins in your holding. Some altcoins are worth holding on a long term basis but others you just have to hold it for a while before selling it off. I am currently holding some good altcoins together with BTC and i don't plan on selling it any moment soon. Feel free to fill in your bags with $LINK, $DIVI, $OLT.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have some funds to invest-- How do I make a good decision? on: February 24, 2020, 10:56:26 AM
The decision surely lies in your hands but i can help you with some factors that you should look at before investing into any cryptocurrency or blockchain project. Consider the following factors:
1. A project with working products or at an MVP
2. An active and communicative team members who engage members of their community
3. Good token economics that will drive liquidity to the coin.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Block chain Technology (Bitcoin) legal in Pakistan? on: February 24, 2020, 10:09:30 AM
I don't know what truth is in this but it will be a good idea and would make the country viable for the development of blockchain project. Several blockchain startups are looking for countries that have legalized cryptocurrencies or blockchain technology in one way or another. If this announcement is really true, then i am sure cryptocurrency exchanges would start sprouting in Pakistan soon.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not FOMO on newly listed altcoins on Binance on: February 22, 2020, 07:04:40 AM
I think this whole thing came about when Binance started its series of IEO. Several people made lots of money out of it but those projects that were launched that time had good use cases and working product too. Other blockchain start-ups want to buy into this hype hence listing all sorts of worthless projects up there and this is why the two coins listed fail though it got listed on Binance.
if there are no use case and utility of the coin it will surely come crushing down lol.
