181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MOJO] MOJOv2 - 20% PoS | masternodes | active development on: December 20, 2016, 12:47:36 AM
Is staking working with the latest version?
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CRYPTO BULLION (CBX) | Inventor of PoSP! on: December 19, 2016, 11:10:36 AM
I've just selected the Do Nothing option but stay with my opinion and options of earlier.

If CBX changes it's course and change into a new coin/chain and with that devalidating the cryptsy coins I will be leaving the CBX team.

I simply do not want to have any responsibility in this action and do not support it.

That's a shame, but this is a very difficult choice, neither option is ideal. My opinion is the cryptsy coins will kill CBX when they're dumped, there's just not enough community to absorb 124k coins, so it's a choice between (possible) life, and certain death. A new coin gives CBX a chance to reach the level of respect it deserves.

A what happened to cloud staker, Staisybit? Can we start a riot to get some coins back?

How the heck did this coin even fail? I swear development was going along at quite a fast pace.

Fibre was a SuperNET core coin ffs, it's totally insane how the devs abandoned it, but maybe not too late. SN is launching komodo soon, so if there's ever going to be a revival, the time is NOW ... I'm gonna try and sync up

Do you have any active nodes?

 No, nothing yet ...

I was referred here from my thread :- Blockchain Mechanic's Revival Thread

I am working on reviving coins that have active followings and have either been abandoned by their devs, or the dev has no clue  Tongue

If you are open to my working on this , please respond here on in my thread. I'll need a link to the current source code.

Thanks.

Yeah, go for it, Opal was a SuperNET core coin with an inside lane for trading on the InstantDEX

Did SuperNet ever become a reality...is it even still being developed ? InstantDEx? By "WAS", i take it it is no longer part of those?

Yes, most definitely,  SuperNET is just about to launch, search for Komodo on this forum. InstantDEX is launching soon also, as part of Komodo. Something should be up in the next couple of weeks. No exaggeration,  Komodo and SuperNET and InstantDEx (decentralised exchange) are going to change crypto. Komodo coin is using zCash tech. You really need to take a look, worth spending some time seeing what's planned, especially the delayed PoW. Very well thought out platform, and Opal and Fibre both had ring side positions as SuperNET core coins. SN is the investment fund, Komodo and InstantDEX are the tech, there's also Iguana tech ... too much to explain here, you need to go to the Komodo thread and start reading.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Exchanges: Why do they lack liquidity? on: December 18, 2016, 09:44:43 AM
A DEX needs market makers embedded into the platform, that's what SuperNET is doing with their InstantDEX, they've got built in trade bots that'll provide instant liquidity for all markets.

189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACTS] Crypto = Morality on: December 18, 2016, 05:14:07 AM
The pinnacle of human society IMO is a public hospital in a modern country with universal health care. If a foreigner on holiday gets sick, or anyone residing in the country, they will usually get treatment based on their need, as judged by a medical person. It doesn't matter who the person is, they will use a lot of highly skilled people using all the best available medicines and equipment, and they will try their best to help the sick or injured person. This is a truly wonderful achievement, and when you witness it up close you realise how far humans have evolved, and what our true potential might be. BUT, this only exists because of compulsory taxation and redistribution from the state. If left to individuals alone there would never be a situation where strangers would spend thousands or millions helping people who could never pay. This is the truth, the good samaritan can only help one guy at a time, unless the state uses force to redistribute resources from the haves to the have nots. Medical staff in publoc hospitals are shielded from this reality, so they can act purely on need, as if they're in a bubble where the opportunity cost of treating someone doesn't matter, so they can act 'morally'.

So what does that have to do with crypto? Well, I see the issue of morality in crypto exactly the same way. We can design a 'beautiful and moral' crypto system, and it can be based on sound ethical considerations, but unless there is compulsion involved backed up force, it wont last. Just as universal health care is impossible without compulsory taxation and redistribution. If you want decentralisation you wont have compulsion and force, so what you end up with wont be ethical, but it can still be a whole lot better than what we've got now. The current system is rigged, the crypto system isn't. There's free entry and competition, which should improve the outcome, but it's got nothing to do with morality or ethics. Bad actors have to compete with honest ones in a free market, and that's far superior to modern banking and fiat.

191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unknown wallet.dat - please help on: December 18, 2016, 03:55:18 AM
use pywallet to export/dump the wallet data, the addresses was not good, because the address prefix is for bitcoin.
(it is possible that pywallet cannot read the wallet, thats because the altcoin used a not strandard tx/blocks fields, but that could helps to exclude some coins, which is use standard tx/blocks.)

And you have some transactions, and source can search the tx hash in public block explorers. if you found the tx, you found the altcoin too.

Is there a eli5 tutorial on using pywallet? I tried for weeks to get keys from a corrupted wallet and just could never get it to work

193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CRYPTO BULLION (CBX) | Inventor of PoSP! on: December 18, 2016, 01:44:50 AM
digit is correct , destroying the coins is a bad idea.

The Lawsuit against cryptsy is a Class Action, which means the Lawyers are going to be the ones to get rich.

You destroy those coins and the class action attorneys can say you deprived their clients.
In other words , it gives the attorneys cause to go after you , if they so choose.
Just recently the asshat attorneys are going after coinbase , in reference to the cryptsy case.

Destroying those coins won't be a smart move, it will be a dumb move.
But hey, if you do destroy them , I will get some popcorn.

 Cool

The legality of destroying coins is that, technically they are not destroyed - it's just that we switch to another fork where they no longer exist. The original blockchain where the stolen coins exist is still in existance, although not too many people will be staying on it - key thing is, we are free to do anything we want, as long as our actions are not causing a loss to someone else. If this legal firm who has current ownership of these coins stays on the old blockchain, they can have their coins, it's their decision. It's also our decision to create and switch to a new blockchain with these coins gone. They can't sue anyone of us for stopping CBX's support and creating a new coin, we are not obligated to support CBX in any way.

Essentially we are creating a new coin - CBX2 or whatever we choose to call it (name has to be different enough); but CBX will continue if people want to stay on that fork.

So these lawyers who stole our coins are free to continue with their stolen coins on that fork if they want, and we are free to switch to the new fork with these coins removed, or not.

Other aspect is CBX does not have a very bright future with this threat hanging over our heads; CBX also has a stubborn whale problem, but this is another issue.

Great idea, create a new coin and leave the toxic cryptsy coins on the original chain for whoever wants to stay there. Let people burn into the new coin, pick a new name, then onwards and upwards.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: December 18, 2016, 01:20:29 AM
I remember buying this at 2 sats. any chance of another pump

Since 2009 when original bitcoin QT was released there's been very few coins/assets released using a new code base.  We all know this, despite there being +500 coins and assets, the number of unigue ones can be counted on two hands. Qora is one of those, and by a long way it's the most obscure and undervalued one. Qora could still go to zero, but as long as the network and blockchain stay viable, it can come back, it's existence is a major hedge against discovering bugs and other fatal flaws in the other objectively unique crypto coins. Qora is THE best investment based on risk and return, coz it's original code and ridiculously cheap.

Bitcoin based
Cryptonote based (monero)
NXT based
NEM
Bitshares
Ethereum
eMunie (not launched)
Ripple (XRP)
Sia
zCash
IOTA
Qora

There might be a few more, but once you take away all the ones based on bitcoin, or built on top of bitcoin ( counterparty, omni), we're left with an incredibly small number of unique coins. Total crypto marketcap is ~15B USD, if a bug was ever found in BTC, or it failed for another reason, one of two things would happen. Either the bulk of the crypto marketcap would be destroyed, or it would move to other coins. If it moved where would all that value go? I think Qora would be high on the list of safe havens as it's completely unrelated to bitcoin, been going for over 2 years, and is 100% decentralised.

Edit, zCash and bitshares are based on bitcoin, but have unique features too. Unknown if they could survive if a bug was found in bitcoin
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: December 16, 2016, 07:39:54 AM
I dont know what gross malfeasance is but I know it looks like Greg is sabotaging this for everyone.

Greg committed malfeasance because he was a "board member" and "chief officer" of Synereo LTD, and he provable and intentionally acted in ways outside his authority to cause maximum damage to shareholders and AMP holders in an attempt to force everyone to hand him over money.  Greg's job was/is to maximize shareholder value and protect shareholder interests.  He is guilty of doing the exact opposite for his own personal benefit.

Now I understand. What is the penalty for committing this crime?

First, you get your ass fired.  Then, depending on how angry you made your shareholders, you, personally, get your ass sued.

Ouch. That can hurt bad if the investors get real angry. So what's the plan now. Everyone just sits and waits
Huh
,
Better chance of getting a conviction over Greg's hairdo, at the very least he should be night-sticked by the fashion police for the ponytail. I can't see Greg in court over anything else, who's got the money & time?

What happened to blitz?

Chris has been part of the Blitz dev team for sometime, working in his spare time around his work commitments. During that time Chris designed and developed The Viral Exchange and Fitalize, Both developed in C#. Blitz has very active team with over 6 members. I cannot share any further details at this time, but Blitz will play a role in the Stratis Platform.

Hi everyone !

I just wanted to share my experience with Stratis. Im pretty new in crypto and I stumbled across Stratis a few weeks ago. So I started reading about the project and I was very intrigued. While on the hunt for more information I went into their slack and started asking a ton of questions about all aspects of the project and everything concerning crypto really. Instead of facing a bunch of annoyed people who didnt have time with my noobish questions, they were all very friendly and answered all of them to 100% satisfaction. The dev team provide frequent updates and they take every serious suggestion from the community with the utmost gravity and if possible, they make something happen accordingly. The community is absolutely fantastic and there is always someone in the slack who can help with anything really. They have a solid roadmap which is always followed on time and sometimes they are even ahead of schedual.

As you may understand, Im very happy with my investment in Stratis and im confident that I will be making some serious change on this one. I just wanted to share my experience with everyone who may be in the same situation as me some time ago. Im hoping that this post will make the decision to pick up a few strat a bit easier.

I wish you all a great day !

Did you ask them about BLITZ and the BDN? If you get any news please report back here.

You asked the same question back in September which you had received a response.

Your response in September provided no information about the future for blitz, and there's been absolutely nothing since. It's hard not to conclude that Chris abandoned his former projects and investors the day he decided to start Stratis and have an ICO. He should have included Blitz, offered a swap, like many other projects have. He can't even be bothered to reply himself, he leaves that to you.

Let others judge for themselves whether this ok,  but you can't deny reality, there's been zero communication about Blitz and BDN for months and months

BDN has no association with STRATIS and TVE is a Blitz Project developed by Chris.

BDN and BLITZ are both comatose,  ... fool me once shame on you, fool me twice ...STRATIS is not a good  investment, dev can lose interest and abandon, it's happened before. And then there's FIBRE ...

Of course, people will claim otherwise, but BLITZ slack & thread speak for themselves ... tumbleweed

Great suggestion, anon payments would add a lot of value to the torrent ecosystem and users, for all the obvious reasons.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: December 14, 2016, 07:49:49 AM
Any working KMD wallet presently to move my ICO tokens to?

The ICO coins have not been distributed yet.

There are some GUI releases already, but there are no easy installers yet and you my encounter some bugs.

Iguana wallet - https://github.com/SuperNETorg/Iguana-GUI/releases
EasyDEX - https://github.com/SuperNETorg/EasyDEX-GUI
Desktop app - https://github.com/SuperNETorg/iguana

Why are GUIs with these related projects so slow and difficult to create?

Most crypto projects suffer from this, not just SuperNET and komodo. The reason is probably less technical, and more to do with difficulties establishing long term working relationships in  projects without a designated project manager. Think about it, how many crypto projects have enough resources to employ an experienced project manager at the start? Some have hard working community members doing loads of things, but they're doing community management, not project management. Jl777 can't be the PM, he's already doing too much as it is. I've been around a few big projects in my time, and the effect a good PM can have is massive, and so too for a bad one. SuperNET doesn't have a PM, but jl777 has offered bounties, so it's not from a lack of trying to find one. The skillset of a good PM is very unique, not technical skill or knowledge so much, but more temperament, ability to problem solve,  ability to delegate tasks, handle stress, communicate effectively etc

Organising GUI would be the task of PM, dealing with planning, hiring/firing, task outline, feedback, review, etc would be their bread and butter.

I disagree. Most projects are able to have a functioning GUI fairly quickly.

Ones based on clones maybe, but more innovative projects like iota and monero have both had gui problems too. Sounds like you want to criticise someone, so go ahead, who is responsible in your opinion, or are you just venting?

Edit, are you saying project management is not important, or PM with this project has been ok?
