181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Using A Journal Spreadsheets Will Pave The Way For Addiction To Gambling on: May 11, 2024, 01:01:32 PM
Keeping the track of what your performance doesn't necessarily mean that the person is addicted and in my opinion it is better to know what you are doing than being a complete rogue and didn't know what you are doing.
When I was keeping the record of my gambling activities, I was kind of addicted during the time, unlike now that I do not keep any record because the money I am using to gamble is very small. I could remember that time also that I will make predictions of how I will make money from gambling and have it also in records, but I will lose again to gambling. Gambling is not worth something someone should keep records of. Anyone that is keeping record of it is somehow addicted.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Expertise in Sports and Sports Market Knowledge on: May 11, 2024, 12:49:29 PM
But if you are in a sport fans and betting on a game that you know, then there are good chances or at least you have a greater chance to win because you know the teams and the sports itself.
Sport is also luck, including football that is mostly common among the sport matches. To win 2x in sport betting is very difficult and most gamblers prefer to go for the stronger clubs which have less than 2 odds. Example is when Manchester City is playing with a club, the odd can be as low as 1.1 but there is a chance that Manchester City can still lose or draw. Anything can happen in football, the underdog may win or draw. In casinos you will see 2 odd and 3 odd games easily but that is hard in sport because the 2 or 3 odds in sport have very low chance to win unlike in casinos.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you think about Casinos rewards? on: May 11, 2024, 12:42:34 PM
The current renovation of gambling revolvs around offers and big rewards and that has been what attracts a lot of people to gambling, yeah I think rewards is playing up big role in their business, and has kept a lot of customers, I like to see most casinos as using the devil's strategy, they offer you a lot for your little and yeah you jump in and they eat you up, mehn I love to own a casino someday.
That is just as it is. The gambling sites will offer you huge reward bonus and most likely that the gambler will lose his money and the reward. Gambling sites evolved into that strategy when they knew that the money is still with them and the gamblers are largely losing the money. That is why some people that are addicts or wasting huge amount of money on gambling should think twice and know that they should not use more than what is necessary to gamble, just little amount of money can be used for gambling and avoiding temptation of using high amount which can come when someone is losing already.
184  Other / Meta / Re: Post deleted? on: May 11, 2024, 12:25:41 PM
It was reported for "Wrong area, Marketplace Services ad". Not sure if it should have been straight up deleted or not without seeing the content.
You can click on the link and see the products and services the exchange is providing. You will see that the exchange is providing no exchanges. I posted about this and he admitted that I am correct. If it is an exchange, the exchange would have been moved by the other moderator instead of deleting it but that is not yet an exchange but a site that list the price of some stocks in bitcoin which I think was the reason it was deleted.
185  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Lists of open-source bitcoin lightning wallets on: May 11, 2024, 12:35:21 AM
Back to this subject. Another data point might be TOR can use (yes / no) and built into the app (yes / no)
Some like BTCitbanana will connect over TOR and it's included in the build. Others do not and require TOR on the device.
I have added Tor support.

The Tor is inbuilt except on Electrum. I was unable to know the ones for wallets that you have to provide your node address.

Tor has been removed on Bluewallet.

This post? [ANN] Roxom - Bitcoin Denominated Markets. You can see that it has been deleted.

This is the archived: https://ninjastic.space/topic/5495790

I check the site, it is not an exchange. The site offers nothing than the price of some stocks or something. The site is not developed and it is at its primitive stage.
187  Other / Meta / Re: Change username on: May 10, 2024, 05:32:32 PM
I do not think there is anything useful that can be added to this thread anymore, it is very clear that theymos or Cyrus can not change the username for Lucusfoundation. His account is still kind of new with no much effort. He can just create a new account.

It would be good if this thread is just locked.
188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should Threads Be Locked After Satisfactory Responses? on: May 10, 2024, 05:06:52 PM
I will say most threads are not locked because some people can still come to add to what others have said which may not be repetition. But you are not lying at all, I have seen repetitions on most threads but there are still quality posts at the beginning which are what that are important. But the best that someone can do is for the person to lock the thread by himself.

190  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: RoboSats | Buy & Sell Bitcoin P2P Privately #kycfree on: May 09, 2024, 08:23:46 PM
When I was looking for a non-KYC exchanges that are supporting lightning network recently, I saw Robosats. It is a good exchange. But one thing I noticed about the exchange is that if I use the tor, it is not fast to load, but once it loads finish it works better and fast. Before I used the tor, I first wanted to try the clearnet but it was not loading at all. There are some people that will like to use the cleanet. Agoradesk and Localmonero are winding down already and I am finding this exchange to be good.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the main points of gambling? on: May 09, 2024, 03:31:31 PM
The 3 points you mentioned are wagered, risk and prize they don't realize these 3 points so they may incur extra losses.
The three points the OP mentioned are: consideration (an amount wagered), risk (chance), and a prize. The first point is not wagared but consideration of the amount to wager.

But we should discuss ways to solve problems rather than discussing problems. What steps do you think can be taken to help people better understand the basics of gambling, I mean the main points of gambling?
consideration
Not to use gambling to look for money is the main thinking that can help against addiction. Use small amount of money for small budget. Be disciplined is another ones.
192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You sing A Journal, Spreadsheets Will Fave The Way For Addiction To Gambling on: May 09, 2024, 03:20:04 PM
Does anyone here have their own journal or spreadsheets, and are you taking gambling seriously?
Taking gambling seriously is having a document to record how you manage your bank roll. Isn't it called bank roll management? It doesn't have to be a journal or spreadsheet. It could be something as informal as writing it on a note app on your phone. No matter how we have chosen to look at it, gambling must be done deliberately if not, there is a chance that one will go ahead to spend money they cannot afford to lose unknowingly.
I do not take gambling seriously to the point that I will calculate the amount of money that I am spending on gambling. I do not think I spend up to 1% of money on gambling. It is hard for me to even take my money to gamble but sometimes I will just want to have fun and bet or gamble with little amount of money. I am surprised that some people are thinking of gambling like this.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peoples expectations about casinos free spins on: May 09, 2024, 09:56:33 AM
I think free spins can be a fun way to explore new games or casinos without committing too much money upfront. It's like a little test drive to see if the experience is enjoyable. And if happens to win something, well, that's just a nice bonus!
In this scenario, you do not have to commit any money into gambling in free spin. It is given for free. But some people may like the game and use the money won to gamble or use their own money to continue gambling if they see the game interesting.

Casinos aren't handing out free money with no strings attached. There are usually wagering requirements, so you'll have to play through your winnings before you can withdraw them.
The rules can differ from one gambling site to another. But casinos will prefer to have rules that will make the gambler to have low chance of withdrawing. The money won may be lower than the minimum amount that the gambler can withdraw.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attempting to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC on: May 09, 2024, 06:48:49 AM
I remember a guy in my department that had no option than to run back home because he lost money to gambling. He told me that it was the worst time of his life. His father gave him money for school fees but he wanted to do big boy and think of doubling it fast. He went to a gambling site and use all his school fee to gamble at ones on a match. But unfortunately he lost all and had no option than to run back home to tell his parent what happened. Some people did something like this in the past and lost.
195  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin mining on a laptop in 2024 on: May 09, 2024, 06:30:50 AM
If you want to mine bitcoin, you will need to buy ASIC. This machine is very power and generated higher hash rates. Buy the new ones that produces more hash rates starting from S19 or higher version. You need cheap electricity. The ASIC consume electricity a lot. You will need to calculate the electricity the machine will be consuming before buying it at all. You can not mine bitcoin with GPU not to talk of CPU.

196  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 08, 2024, 09:33:01 PM
I'd tell him to keep his expectations low and accept the losses because returning once more to place more bets will always favor the casinos.
You can see that the person that brought this thread is confusing people. On the topic title, it says that his friend is losing but on what he posted, he said his friend is winning small. Which one should we believe? Is it winning small or losing?

A gambler should know that all money he is using to gamble can all be lost. People should not look for money through gambling and he should not chase losses either.
197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do they always attack the newbies? on: May 08, 2024, 09:25:20 AM
What make you think that you are no more a newbie? This topic shows how newbie you are. If you grow to full or senior member, you will understand.

This is a forum, we learn from each other. Some newbies will come and make some wrong posts and they will be corrected. Accept correction. But newbies are more tackled than older members, just also accept that and grow.

If you want to get better replies, show some examples of what you are talking about. I mean a screen shot or quote or link of the posts that you are talking about.
198  Other / Meta / Re: Are illegal services using impersonation allowed? on: May 08, 2024, 09:16:36 AM
By law all mixers including conjoin are indirectly banned because they support no KYC.
Which law? Of which country?
I am referring to United States

Money transmitter laws and virtual currency
If you operate a cryptocurrency-related business, most regulators will view your business as a money transmitter. As such, your business is subject to the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and must register for a money transmitter license. This applies in all states, except Montana.

With how mixers are operating, they can not be given licence in the United States and the way they operate make it to be like mixers are indirectly banned.

I am not saying mixers are illegal but the government will want all to be in their control and find all ways possible that what are not in their control to be banned. They are making the laws.
199  Other / Meta / Re: Are illegal services using impersonation allowed? on: May 08, 2024, 07:43:32 AM
You better read up on how he provides services before you say things like that.
If we should follow the laws, Wasabi wallet supposed to also be banned on this forum but it was not banned. By law all mixers including conjoin are indirectly banned because they support no KYC. Wasabi was allowed but the government recently went after the conjoin and it is about to cease operation. Those KYC payment processors like the MasterCard offered by some sites, bad people are conveniently using them. The dirtiest money are in banks. The governments failed to stop online criminals because the criminals are successfully using what that are regulated. I do not see any problem for some people because of restrictions to use no KYC credit cards. We are in a stupid world, the government supposed to ban knives, cutlasses because they can be used to kill. They can also ban cars, trains because they do have accidents especially cars. With what that I see, that service is not going to be banned on this forum. I was late to see it, because my country made life difficult for us many months ago when all our cards are restricted to make foreign transactions, all in the name of fighting inflation we have no freedom.
200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 08, 2024, 07:11:44 AM
Agreed , these kids does not know what they are doing(at least do not know what awaits for them if they continue) so we as adults must do the necessary thing in which reporting the gambling business that catering these kids and of course those kids that for sure their parents does not know what they are doing away from home.
parents believe they are studying and not this way.
In all parts of the world, there is either illegal gambling or underage gambling restriction. I think because of how gambling is in their country, the laws are taking for granted which makes underage to gamble. But we do not know their age, they can be 18 or 19 years which are not underage because in most countries these ages are legal to gamble. The OP did not know their age and he should not just conclude. But if they see underage gambling, it is better to report to gambling regulators in the country about the casino or betting shop.
