184  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Multiplayer BTC gaming site questions/feedback on: May 18, 2014, 12:35:24 AM
somewhat off topic but it bugs me that the gambling industry is trying to rebrand themselves as "gaming".  I've got nothing against a friendly wager but the last thing we need is actual games to be perceived as a gateway drug for gambling because of some marketing assholes in Vegas.

I disagree with you. I think that there is a big difference between game and gambling. If you play against someone else you can use your skills to win bitcoin.
I realy hope it will be like that

I am pretty sure you misinterpret the OP. In point 3 he clearly speaks about rolling against other players. No skill involved. What he has in mind clearly is: two players wager money and test who's the more lucky one with rolling a dice. No skill involved -> clearly gambling and not gaming.

Two people playing chess against each other for money: That could be called gaming. As it involves strategy and skill.

I agree with thezerg here. If your "game" mainly involves rolling a dice and has little to no possibility of being influenced by any one player in his favor by using strategy and skill then please brand it as what it is: gambling and NOT gaming.

Agree with your point of the differences between gambling and gaming, technique and strategy comes to mind only if your options of playing are known from the beginning.
its not have to be super skill needed like chess but also not game like poker that every game you get new random cards.
it only about knowing your options before you start, then you can make your own strategy. even if its an easy game or not many options to choose.

really think that it could work great and add fun to the BTC community

186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally! One of the top porn stars accepts and promotes Bitcoin. on: May 18, 2014, 12:22:48 AM
Sorry Phinn, don't get me wrong, I usually take good notice on the posts/advice you give in these forums but....
why is this important for Bitcoin?Huh?

EDIT: this is a trick question btw  Wink

I will tell you..
one of the main causes for success in the media called internet is the porn industry.
like it or not (how can someone be against it?) it serves most of the people that online and responsive directly to a large interest of most of the population..

getting involved with the porn industry is a huge jump for bitcoin!
187  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Doing business in bitcoins in US? on: May 15, 2014, 11:11:57 PM
Could the IRS know in some way how many BTC you earn online?
or they wish for honesty?  Wink
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin + Universities on: May 15, 2014, 10:58:00 PM
I'm the only one who think that students are the biggest part of population that the community want to add them?

young ambitious technically evolved and the next generation that will rule their countries..
I'm sure that some universities will accept some deals that involved BTC and even lectures that explain the main idea of it.
189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Forget China, India will be next on: May 15, 2014, 10:49:26 PM
There's nearly zero adoption in India, no nodes, no miners, no exchange, no infrastructure, nothing. I don't see it changing any time soon.

doubt their ability to change at their situation..

193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The CEO of eBay :we are considering intergrating bitcoin actively on: May 15, 2014, 10:38:01 AM
i think the ceo is just saying they are thinking about implementing bitcoin because they want to erase their negative publicity and anger from their customers over them (ebay/paypal) banning bitcoin. they wont be implementing it unless its kicking and screaming.

Even if that's the case,  the BTC community will be very pleased that any organization that is powerful with big name like eBay will say that it just keep BTC in mind cause that could make a large change in the trust of who not believe in the BTC and by that rise of new business that believe in that coin and wanna earn it for a future use in eBay
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebay - the first tech giant to accept Bitcoin? on: May 15, 2014, 09:34:49 AM
