181  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post quality matters than replying fast on: February 16, 2024, 02:18:03 PM
If the intention is to get known by other members as an active member and perhaps get some merits for giving an answer/explanation to the question posed in the thread, you’ll get noticed alright. But if your posts are majorly irrelevant, you surely won’t get any merits. You would be known as a spammer and probably be put on ignore by others. All thanks to your hard work of making sure to quickly write redundant shit early in a new thread.

Posts which are of quality and informative still manage to get merits even if they’re buried deep in a thread.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Escape Debt with Gambling: A Dangerous Cycle on: February 16, 2024, 01:45:47 PM
I do not want to be part of such situation but I have to help him and that is kind of a messy deal that I am in.

You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. You mentioned you want no part of the situation yet you still willingly get involved. What he’s probably going through is the results of not so wise decisions he has made over time.
He’s gone and got himself in business with loan sharks. Very understanding when lending money and not so understanding anymore when it’s time for repayment. You wouldn’t want to get involved with such characters.

It’s truly admirable wanting to help out the person you consider a friend. While helping a drowning man, You’ve got to be careful not to drown also.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: February 16, 2024, 12:51:25 PM
Even countries where gambling is legal should ban ads on TV because it's not unknown by the authorities that kids watch TV as well, and this thing can have a pretty bad influence on them if they see those gambling and casino advertisements. I believe some countries such as Australia have taken such steps and have banned gambling advertisements both on TV and online spaces which are social media and other locations on the internet.

If it’s legal and allowed in a country, why still should there be a ban for casinos to advertise and make themselves known to the public? Also, I don’t think gambling ads have that much of an effect on young children as you seem to think. They’re more likely to ignore such advertisements as the ads aren’t designed as they’re aren’t intended for young minds.

The responsibility of raising kids right rests primarily with the parents. People won’t just give up legal activities they enjoy because it could have a bad influence on your kid. If you as a parent dislike certain activities and advertisements cause you think it might influence your kid, it’s on you to make adjustments to suit your preferences for your kid and not to clamor for its outright ban.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football leagues to introduce 'sin-bin' & blue card for unruly players on: February 16, 2024, 10:08:58 AM
Blue cards in my opinion is redundant. I personally don’t see any use in having a blue card as I’ve always thought yellow cards work just fine. If a player is unruly on the field and seems to disrespect the referee, having no regards to his authority on the field, a yellow card has always been a good deterrent for others aiming to emulate such behavior.

If a blue card given to a player sends him to the sidelines to cool off and a second blue card gets you a red card and off the field. Asides sending a player to stand by the sidelines for a while, yellow cards did all of that.
The red and yellow cards used are simple and straightforward. They work just fine.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: February 15, 2024, 11:56:48 PM
I know Benzema wants to go, but of course you never know. His contract in Saudi Arabia has a very high fee. There is no team in Europe that can meet this. Of course, I don't know if the Saudi team wants to loan him and pay his salary. I don't think they will do such a thing. I think Benzema should focus on the league and prepare himself to be the best.

He didn’t settle in well and it doesn’t seem like he’s enjoying his stay that much. His contract does have a high fee and I don’t think any club in Europe would be willing to meet for his sake. He an amazing player no doubt, but he’s not getting any younger also.
Al-Ittihad did recognize his talents and perhaps in a bid to make him feel settled in as well, they made him captain.
It would be quite hard for one to focus on and excel on doing something that there is no heart nor interest for.
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: February 15, 2024, 11:37:54 PM
Positive emotions doesn’t do shit to help a gambler win more in the short or long run anywhere. You said it yourself, the strategies used cannot be ignored. You need adequate research and knowledge to help in your strategy. Then with a little bit of luck, you’re good.
You can be cheery all you want and still experience regular losses. I would agree though that emotions could have some influence in our thoughts and could help sway our decisions. So while trying to put together a game to play on, it’s best to remain clear headed to be able to get your facts straight.

187  Economy / Economics / Re: Not easy times in the world but how the goverment will improve? on: February 15, 2024, 11:21:10 PM
I hoped you would write more on why you’re not a fan of green renewable energy and how exactly it relates to governments printing more money into the economy or fighting Inflation.
You noted yourself that we’ve got to solve problems with new (and better) methods. Be more energy efficient, hence the renewable energy sources being touted all over today.
Change is difficult to accept hence the slow adaptation of these renewable energy sources.

As for fighting inflation, governments do know how to do one thing well. And that’s obviously to print even more money.
188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 15, 2024, 10:58:09 PM
If the match between Manchester City and Chelsea were to be played at Chelsea's home, we would have been asking for magic to happen so that Chelsea could win against Manchester City. But in this case, it's not so because the match will be held on Manchester City ground "Etihad".
From what I can deduct from the Manchester City and Chelsea match, is a loss match for Chelsea, no two ways about it. Chelsea can't come to Etihad and dream of winning Manchester City when all their injured players are back from injuries. It is not going to happen.
Concerning Manchester City winning this season's PL title, I give it all to them because no team can stop them from achieving that.

Even if the game was played at Stamford Bridge, i personally don’t see any difference as Manchester City would still be favorites to win the game. Chelsea, playing at home wouldn’t make any difference as I don’t see how that could help increase their chances.

Not to underestimate any side as there’s still a possibility of Chelsea having a win against City on their home ground. Also, Manchester City doesn’t have all their injured players back but the combo of De Bruyne and Haaland is back so we’ll see how that goes.
Chelsea on the other hand, has some of their notable players recovering from injuries.
189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: February 15, 2024, 10:21:44 PM
People are too used to have debts these days, decades ago people only owed their house or their car, but everything else was paid with cash, and if you did not had the money to pay for it then you waited until you did, but people are so used to getting everything they want when they want that they are not willing to wait anymore, so they use loans to consume now and pay later, but using a loan to gamble, no matter the size of the loan, can be a big mistake, as once that money is lost you will feel the need to ask for another loan in order to recover the money you just lost, creating a vicious circle from which it can be difficult to escape.

Good days.. Today, If there’s something being offered, you should expect there’s someone somewhere that’s going to be interested. With credit cards now readily available, we’ve slowly begun to move away from the cash and into the credit era. Who needs cash when you’ve got good credit that would enable you to get more credit and take even more loans?
We’ve gotten used to living with and serving debts, it apparently doesn’t seem that crazy anymore to apply and get a loan only to use part or the whole of the funds to gamble.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why in some religion gambling is forbidden? on: February 15, 2024, 09:31:58 PM
I think it's forbidden in every religion. Religions are mostly talking about the bible of life which means it should be good things.
Gambling had been traditionally seen to be bad so it just makes sense that they will input it as a forbidden act.

Gambling has long been labeled by the society as a bad and not so pocket friendly activity that people should stay clear of. The reason this is so is due to the irresponsible behavior exhibited by irresponsible and somewhat immature individuals who gamble.
Any religion would inevitably have its followers stay clear of activities that could potentially have a negative effect on either themselves or/and their families.

Religion has overtime, become a tool for control. We’ve got men of the cloth giving several interpretations of the scripture to suit whatever agenda they’ve got. Quite sad.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: February 15, 2024, 09:00:09 PM
Due to their impatience and eagerness to begin gambling, individuals tend to ignore the verification process and proceed with playing without delay. One possible reason for this could be peer pressure or witnessing someone close having recently won a substantial amount of money from gambling. Consequently, these individuals may be inclined to promptly register on a betting platform in anticipation of similar winnings.
In addition, the diminishing reading interest in some individuals currently makes them lack motivation to read if the material is long. This happens even when delving into gambling platform’s terms and conditions, whose text is long and contains a good amount of points.

There may be a certain level of eagerness that could lead to impatience when registering on a new casino online. But I think a good number of people do try and make an attempt at reading whatever terms of service that needs to be agreed and adhered to. There are a lot of sites which TOS I’ve wanted to read through thoroughly but I never seem to make it to the end before I lose interest and literally get tired of reading it.

The TOS could be extremely long and in a lot of cases, written in smaller prints making it more likely for one to lose interest quickly. One would think it’s purposefully done to make people not read the TOS and then, go ahead to accept any and all terms.
192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: February 15, 2024, 06:54:09 PM
The casinos actually don’t give a fuck if you’re experienced or not. I would think they would prefer you to be ignorant and inexperienced so as to lose more money whenever playing.
18 years of age is the acceptable age limit for one to fully aware of their actions and thus, able to bear whatever consequences that could follow. Hence that’s pretty much the only requirement needed for one to be able to play.

I think the age limit is adhered to by casinos due to enforcement and if they would be allowed to have their way, anyone having some money would be welcomed to play.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does even freezing a customer's account curb irresponsible gambling? on: February 14, 2024, 10:38:58 PM
I don’t think a scenario like you one in the OP could ever play out. A casino caring so much about a gambler that they restrict the account of the gambler so there would not be any more deposits and the person would not be able to continue playing.
I believe a more likely scenario would be the casino suspending his account for some other legit reason and not cause they’re enforcing responsibility amongst their customers. More like, You’re above 18 and should be old enough to make decisions. If you choose to be irresponsible, they’re probably not going to stop you.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: February 14, 2024, 10:25:51 PM
It's a natural assumption to think successful gambling is as good as gambling more hence the addiction, but I think being a successful gambler can mean anything, it could mean gambling less and being profitable in it or its simply your profession and you know the art of making the money 💸 💰.

Besides successful gamblers can not fall into this bracket of addicted because they know the ins and outs of this industry which includes not over gambling..

I highly doubt successful people in gambling are seen as addicts. They’re successful due to the fact that they’re not addicts. The successful individual may be intense in his gaming and could play regularly but that doesn’t necessarily make him an addict.
I personally think an addict in gambling can not just become successful at it and I don’t think anyone would look up to a successful gambler and think the person to be an addict.
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: February 13, 2024, 11:21:41 PM
The bad impression of gambling is caused by irresponsible people. Leaving young children for 5 hours is a very big risk, they don't know anything about safety, all they can think about is playing without caring about the dangers around them. Bad impressions are always caused by gambling addiction, other negative actions are also caused by irresponsible individuals. There are many people who do not prioritize responsibility to fulfill their desire to gamble. People like this need to be punished in order to increase their awareness of their responsibility to maintain their safety and that of others.

Bad impressions are mostly formed in the minds ofthe general society by constant tales of irresponsible and outright stupid behaviors of people like the one mentioned in the OP. And the father has added to the impression the society already has pig gambling and it’s negative effects if taken too far.
The father was being irresponsible and had clearly prioritized his activities over his infant children who he was supposed to be watching over.
Individuals like this should never be trusted with the responsibility of taking care/watching over someone else.
196  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: February 13, 2024, 10:32:10 PM

but it is only recommended for very rich gamblers who have unlimited money and for ordinary gamblers it is not recommended because usually middle class gamblers have an average income so if they use it to gamble every day they will definitely spend money from their income just to try their luck at gambling.

People indulge in their favorite pastime activities on a daily basis. There could be people out there that regularly gambles, likely on a daily basis as well.
One can only comfortably gamble if there’s enough money to do so. And for one to go on to gamble daily for whatever reasons, the pockets of such individuals must be extremely deep for him to comfortably keep at it.

Middle to lower income earners could find it difficult to gamble daily even with lower amount of money as there are other more important expenses that would need to be taken care of.
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make use of what you disliked because you can't stay away from it. on: February 13, 2024, 06:18:14 PM
So can anyone force you to make use of what you don't dislike?

If you don’t dislike a thing or an activity, then you probably do like the activity and actually won’t need to be persuaded let alone forced.
In your case, I do fail to see how you’re being forced to use the account you created as no one is literally forcing you to do anything. You can just abandon the account. Like you yourself noted, don’t fund the account and choose not to log in anymore. Easy. There are no issues here.

With gambling, it’s highly unlikely for anyone to force me against my will to do whatever. Unless, of course there’s a gun to one’s head.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 11, 2024, 10:19:33 PM
I didn’t think, I believed it. I just didn’t see CIV by any chance beating football giants like Africa. Though, there story might be beautiful, being the host, qualifying as best losers of the group stage and managing it to the finals, they have more than enough reason to want and hope to win this one but, against a team like Nigeria, they’ve got to bring there best game on.

I guess they did bring out their best game in the second half and scored two goals to have them win the game and ultimately, the tournament. I did think Nigeria would have won the game but the better side won the game.
I guess this makes their journey from being the best losers in the group stage to tournament winners quite a beautiful journey and apparently, they did have enough reason and drive to want to win this one.

Nigeria majorly stepped up the pressure when they conceded the second goal. They did all they could to equalize and I would applaud their efforts although they didn’t yield the desired effect.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 11, 2024, 08:49:09 PM
Nigeria will win this the match. My head tells me that the officiating team may try to be biased against the super eagles but we will emerge victorious. We are going to have just one hero that will save the day, but it will be team work. For the Ivorians, I know that they are damn scared and they are right. The outcome of the match metaphorically speaking may decide how things go for our dearest country. I wish the boys well. My hope is that the boys who shined in the tournament will find better clubs out there to horn their skills and be the best they can be.

I too think Nigeria would win the game. I had the thought immediately they emerged victorious in the game against South Africa. Few minutes till the half time and so far, they haven’t been playing so well looking at the match stats, but that’s irrelevant(for now) as they’ve managed to score a goal and get ahead in the match.
Hopefully, we’ll see more goals from Nigeria in the second half to solidify their lead and help the team cruise to victory. Wouldn’t it be something to win the title while playing against the host nation?

About the referee being biased in his rulings, I haven’t really seen anything that would make me doubt his fairness in his decisions.
200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 09, 2024, 03:14:48 PM

What is the instances that makes you take a break in gambling?

Having little money left to comfortably part ways with little for gambling purposes,
Having a series of losses lately and don’t feel motivated enough to play some more,
Having played quite consistently over a couple of months and just want a break and change from the gambling scenes.

Irrespective of your reasons, go on and take that break when you need it. It helps.
